Well, Jim If you include the code on multiple pages of a site the image will time out on each and every page after 20 seconds! And, after the image times-out..your page will work normally..It wont interfere in between at all! I think Microsoft has stopped the development of Internet explorer for MAC! I am not sure though!

Well, Adsence earnings are leagal!You have to pay the taxes from the earning of google adsence.As far as having a business for adsence..is not required..It can be run from your personal bank account!

Well, tt3 I really appreciate your way of thinking of starting a campagin to improve IE..but you see there is a problem and that is there is not an easy way to develop the extensions for IE and due to that lots of programmers dont find it easy to make internet explorer better.It is upto microsoft who will actually do something to make it better!Now, what is the plus point Firefox is having an option to develop the extensions and by not supporting ActiveX..this way it is easy for young developers to actually develop the extensions and because firefox doesnt support ActiveX..there are less chances of having spyware in your computer

@ tt3 : I think the other responces have already given you my answer @ Tyssen, xaetos, jlhaslip, shigajet, terminal2k : That is why I've started this campaign!Well, my motive is to stop people from using IE...now the story is not that long...Why I jumped into this : Well, I was in techincal support of HP laptopts and almost every call we used to get was related to something like..popups, porn pictures and all spyware stuff....and the reason for that was that people used to visit all kind of rubbish websites using Internet explorer and due to that there computers got infected with spywares.So, I thought that there must be campagin which must stop people from using IE and then I got this idea from one of the website and thought that this a nice way and this way...more and more people will get aware of that fact!Now, coming to IE 7 : as Tyssen & jlhaslip have mentioned..that it also fails to support the standards and secondly..no matter...how secure Microsoft people will make it....there will be always a security hole and SPYWARE people will not hesitate to use that! The reason for that is that still IE is most used browser and SPYWARE makers actually target it!

well wild20, as you are using fantastico to install the CMS..I think you must not face a problem...but you are! (strange one, I've never faced problems in installing scripts with fantastico) now, I think you must have followed..all the instructions give above...and if not then go ahead and do it...and as far as your question is concerned..... if you make a directory under public_html called "index" and then upload the current files in it...then people will be able to access it through http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ well...and for your second question.....no matter whatever extension you have...in your case it will be index.php it will take it up automatically and will be your main page....but make sure that you dont have any other file like index.html or index.htm in that same folder...because .html extension is given the preference over .php extension! So, as far as you dont have the index.html & index.php file in the same folder...your index.php file will act as the main page

Strange! That there was no option of Blogger.com & wordpress over here...when we know that at this point of time..Wordpress actually rules when it comes to Blogging softwares.Well, Even I use wordpress and my site is a blog..I actually think that it is better to have blog because..it is far too easy to add new content to the site and due to that it becomes easy to actually index your site in the search engines..So, if someone thinks that how they can actually make there site popular then the best way is to have content flowing in your site..and yes one more thing..by not taking away the discussion from the topic..I will like to ask from the topic starter..that is it ok..to ADD blogger.com & wordress in this list?If yes then please PM any of the MODS or instead use the report button!

Well, These kind of sources are available everywhere on the internet...Not to dishearten Inspiron on his find..But I actually dont think that we can actually rely on these kind of services..the reason for that is according to this site....there is a diff. software..which has earned the award! http://www.toptenreviews.com/software/security/best-antivirus-software/ We actually cant actually depend on these reviews itself..I think..one should actually use the software in trial period and if they find it good enough then they must go for that software!

Well, considering that fact that Xisto is run by the same company i.e. Xisto Corp. I am sure that you wont find even a single problem in making the switch. However, as Jlhaslip has mentioned that the posts over there are higly techincal in nature..So, if you are fine with that then you can make a switch! Now, as you are complaning about the no. of moderators (dont worry, we are not offended) I will suggest you to please have a look at the board statstics of both the forums. Board stats are at the bottom of the index page of the forum on both the sites! Now, it completely depends on members like you and me! We have to understand the fact and we ourselves have to make sure that the posts we make, must not be one-liners. So, my suggestion : Dont make a switch..instead try to make this place better! I know that Xisto & Xisto both are run under Xisto Corp. but still I want to see the spirit of competition among the members and that members of both boards must work hard enough to make things better in their respective boards!

Well, This is my first review and I have chosen BitDefender Internet Security Version 9 for this. I am not a good reviewer but I'll try to provide all the information which I've noticed in this time period. (http://www.bitdefender.de/) First of all, I would like to mention the features it has...and I think it has all the features which an internet security program must have. - Antivirus - Firewall - Anti spyware - Anti Spam - Parental control Now, I will startup with the installation (as every program starts from here ), well, Installation is fairly simple and there is no hassle in doing that..anyways these days it is the case with each and every software...so we need not worry about that much...But the best part about its installation is that it connects to the internet..searches for the latest available..definitions and then scans the computer in the middle of Installation..This ensures that there is no virus in the starting itself. What happens after installation..It sets up the firewall settings and runs a so called "Rule wizard" in which you can define the computer..i.e. wheather is it a part of network or does it connects directly! and after you set up that..it is ready to be used...after the reboot! Now I'll point out on the important points..which makes it a good/bad product. (will be decided later on). The ratings will be on the scale of 5! EASE OF USE/Interface :- Well, I've personally found that BIT DEFENDER has a good, nice and clean interface and the best thing is that you see a flow in the interface with exteremly cute looking menus...nice and simple! But the only place where it lacks is the advanced firewall configurations..I faced a bit problem in making certain changes in the advanced settings of the firewall and I know that those settings wont be reqiured by normal users..so it is not a big negative for it. Also, it has got a small window which shows..two zones, FILE ZONE & NET ZONE and these zones shows you the activity on the internet and the local computer...Infact you can drag and drop files on the file zone and it will scan your files..It stores the log of each and every scan, so that you actually know..what exactly was done and what were the results..for future reference. Rating : 4.5/5 Effectiveness :- Well, Personally I find that not only it is a good and effective antivirus, it leaves a good impression with its anti-spyware too! Apart from the advanced configuration the firewall is also very easy to use..It prompts for the approval and disapproval of the applications and lets you know that which software is trying to access the internet connection. I've been saved a lot of time..when I got a software and it had a spyware in it..but it blocked..I've been lucky that I didnt get any virus on my computer..till date! Not only this...It's been given VB 100% Award on three different platforms of Microsoft..they are Windows XP, windows 2003 server and windows NT workstation 4.0. To know more about the VB 100 % award please refer to the site https://www.virusbulletin.com/ This is from the bitdefender's readme file! So, that means that it is also certified by ICSA labs and through a internet source I've come to know that it has got the ICSA 2005 award as well! Rating : 5/5 As far as other modules are concerned...I.e. Antispam and parental control..I am not sure about them at all the reason for that is I dont use them! There's no point in having parental control when I am the youngst one in the house (21 years old) and I am the only one who uses this computer and as far as anti-spam is concerned..I use GMAIL..so I am already safe from SPAM Now, I know that I was not able to give you the complete information about this software but as far as I've noticed and as far as I've seen its reviews..it has emerged as a good software..and infact has been rated the best by most of the reviewrs! It is making the market leaders a good competition and becoming a pain in their B*tt! And yes I forgot to inform you about a great feature of its...and that is the UPDATE..I know most of you will say that what's new in that...But I'll say that there is nothing new about it...but they do have a great update system...I get updates almost everyday infact 3-4 times a day..so they keep on updating the sofware to make sure that the customer's computer is safe from latest threats. And finally the support! Well, again I dont have much information about this too...the reason..I've not faced even a single problem with it..so I never got a chance to check there support So, from the points I've noticed and used the software I'll give an overall rating of 4.75/5 which is simply great! And by all these I'll suggest you that if you are looking for an antivirus software..then this is the right choice for you! If you actually dont want to use the PARENTAL CONTROL or anything like that...then go for PROFFESIONAL PLUS...because it is not having the parental control and is cheap as well!

Well, as heavensounds has mentioned that it will be difficult for Google to beat the war of messenger and that he will not like to change the messenger..I am sure there will be lots of people like he thinks, who will not like to change the messenger and just for that reason itself Google has come up with this idea.Google knows that GMAIL is already a super hit in the web-based email service and to make sure that there messenger gets hit..they've integrated it with GMAIL...now, the tactic is that most of the people check there email each and everyday and for that they will login to gmail account and once they'll do it...they'll be automatically logged into GOOGLE TALK and if any of there friends' is logged in...they'll chat with them over there itself...instead of loading up another program...and this way the customers will increase...there no. will increase!Well, heavensounds..if you use GMAIL then just wait and watch..I am sure that you'll quit using MSN messenger and will make a switch to GOOGLE TALK and I can assure you for that!However, it may take some time...but if you think the way I am thinking or in bigger terms..the way google thought...you'll be one of those customer's who will make a switch!

Well, First of all this is for topic starter :Did you hear it from someone or did you actually read this from a reliable source! Because if it is the first..then dont post like the way you have posted in...say it like this "What will happen if google will launch their Operating System? or something similar!"Now, coming to the point, taking the question which I've framed and some more points :lol:Google - A big internet company (growing each and everyday), a company which is full of brains and they actually apply it ! There worker (i'll say they from now on) always come up with innovative ideas and always make products which actually rule the internet..they kick out existing competitors, and if they will come up with Operating system then I am sure that they'll be beating each and every company in that field too!But as one of fellow members said that it is good to have competition otherwise google will start charging prices, it is not bad to charge price for a service which is unbeatable but it will be bad if only few people will be able to use it if there prices will be very high!one more thing...Bill gates, he is not a looser in any sence, so he will make sure that he will keep a check on this and will come up with better things..after all, he is ruling the OS market at this point of time..so dont worry about the competition thingy Cerebral Stasis :lol:Well, things dont end over here ;)what I personally feel that google will not come up with their Operating system soon, atleast not in next 2-3 years..the reason for that is that they have just bought 5 % share of AOL worth 5 billion dollars (less amount of share)...so if google is not having that amount of money to actually buy AOL...which is way small than microsoft...so, I am sure that they will need lot of time to grow enough to actually come up with technology which will beat the microsoft's operating system..because I am sure people will not like to use an Operating system which cant do those things which they can do with the operating systems which exist and rule the market!and here's one more point..this is more of a suggestion (in hope that if any google employee reads it) : I think google must come up with a device which can connect to internet and offers basic computing..for e.g. Browsing, emailing, chat, word processing, music..etc. etc. and intergrate the services they are offering right now..that is for email a person will need GMAIL account....this way there usage will increase and they will be able to make good amount of money with that device because there are lot of people who actually dont use computer other then the usage I've mentioned and they will love to have a gadget similar to that if it small, compact and gives the mobility! Basically a small device like smartphones with the ability to connect to internet and giving the access to Google services

I joined a yahoo group and a person named charles..invited me to open the gmail account! I got it around may 2004 and since then I am using it everday...and the more I use it...more addicted I get :huh:I cant live without gmail and I think that most of you guyz also!anyways...at this time I am having 2343 emails in my inbox and using 15% of my account...what about you guyz...do answer both things!

well, it wont be done automatically...if you earn 10 credits today..then first of all let me tell you that you'll get your account after 2-3 days (Admins review your posts) and if it gets approved..then later you can upgrade to another plan..It wont be done automatically...you'll have to request for it! you can request for upgrade from here Puffy! Well, It is not everyday! but it will be good for you and for Xisto if you do it everyday! :huh:Well, I'll give you an example...say you got 4 credits for a post...these credits will be used for 4 days of hosting.This sequence will explain you in detail :You posted and got 10 credits and then applied for plan 1 (try to get 15 credits and then apply)->you get hosted->after that you post and earn 50 credits (just an example, you can have as much as you want)->you dont post for 50 days and your site is hosted.in short : 1 credit=1 day of hosting!

Well well well, I am back again with certain new features :huh:Well, I am sure people who use Gmail regularly must have noticed it by this time..Gmail + Talk!Yes! I think this will be a revolution in the email/pm or if we talk about a bigger picture "the communication"!Just imagine..you can chat with your friends and get an instant answer without using any external application!I think..this feature will drive lots of people to use GMAIL and not only this will increase the gmail useres...it will increase the number of people who use Google Talk!Google Talk is definitly..a good IM but personally...I dont like it much...for the fact..that it misses some of the important features..like similies...but integrating it with Gmail will certainly help me and others to communicate easily and instantly!Another plus is that where ever you chat...it saves you chat and makes sure that it is stored in your GMAIL account only..i.e. global archive of the chat sessions...this way..it ensures that even if you are on a public or shared computer...your privacy is with you! I've faced some problems when I used to surf in the internet cafe's while using the Yahoo messenger (it stores the chat messages locally..hah!)!and what else can you ask for...if you chatting with someone through Google Talk application..your chat will still be saved in GMAIL account and finally.......You get the option in which if you want..you can turn the feature off of the saving of a particular chat session regardless what other persons settings are!
