    Hey

Hi Evan! Great to have you on board. Get it, on board Okay, never mind, bad joke. Anyway, it is nice to have you here. I suspect you will be another valuable part of this online community. I am wild20. I like forums because they often involve hosting. I like hosting. Duh. If you have any questions, feel free to PM a mod or member and use the shoutbox to do the same. Most people here, me included, are willing to help out any other mamber. It is what we are here for. A reminder, just becuaes I see a lot of people doing it, when you post enough to get your hosting, you MUST keep posting afterwards to keep your hosting. You get so many credits (days), a post. The better quality and longer post or reply you make, the more days you get. Once you have, like 10 days, you don't have to post for ten days. So keep posting and I look forward to seeing your posts! Welcome again!
  3. NoveTerra, just remember that even priests and pastors fail and that the majority of people thinking one way doesn't always make it right. I have only a couple problems with Halloween. I have nothing against the day itself, just the celebration and holiday. When you go out into the streets, and you see, skeletons, witches, cobwebs hanging from the door with awful faces peeking out, can you honestly tell me you are praising God for such a religious and uplifting holiday? Or our you more thinking about, the dark and spooky areas? The answer is clear, Halloween has that, mystery, that part of us who likes to go out and get scary. Your mind is never focused on God, but instead, it takes you away from God and puts you into a reality of darkness. That is why I don't agree with it!And yhcln1, again, why do you do something just because everyone alse does. People are strange under the peer pressure of seeing everyone doing something, but then having to explain why they don't do it themselves. Are you afraid of the ridicule you will get? I don't think we are looking practical here guys. We are thinking too much of the here, and the now.wakelim: I am a litle over-the-top on some things. Maybe even here. But the reason is because I saw a little problem, I went deeper, and saw that the little problem I saw with something, was actually quite big. And that it could be leading Christians toward a not-so-good state. Compromise creeps. Ever so slowly that we don't realize it. It starts with maybe a little fun on Haloween, not really celebrating it, but just something small. That is the first compromise, and from my experience as a Christian I know it is the deadliest. It has now taken you to the point where you are willing to go a step further. As you go further the hole your in gets deeper until you yourself find that you are putting up the skeletons and witches in your yard and dressing up as a witch or goblin to go out and see what Halloween is really like.I don't intirely agree with what you say. Something is not refined by what the people think, but by what God says it is. People also get mixed up thinking to. I have many issues to cover over the next few months. But I will stick with this one for now. If you think, a little more about Halloween, an read what I just stated, then you may be able to "refine" your thinking, and see what Halloweeen is really about. It often takes guys like me and you, who look at a problem, and say, something is wrong here. And then instead of sitting back and watching, do something about it. I am not sure about the harry potter books, but if it could lead people astray, then don't write bout it. Somethings are needed, some aren't. "Your are either raising people up, or tearing them down". (Quote from my wonderful mother:)
  4. So what if you feel that stealing si okay deep in your heart Heavensounds? Would it be okay then? I have been closely following this topic and find that most of you who say it is okay, back your defence by saying that you are doing what you feel is right. But, may I counter that argument by asking if your way is always the right way?So many people feel that as long as they think it is fun or is something that they feel is,..right, then it is okay. Learn, by listening to others and their arguments. If they present a worthy argument and evidence, then research and follow up. I think you will find that Halloween is not all what you think it is. You guys should at least be researching to see if it is a worthy holiday for Christians to celebrate. But instead you jump to the conclusion that I am wrong, and that I am legalistic and fanatical. I research everything I hear and think that you are not looking enough for yourslves. You see Christians everywhere celebrate it, saying that it is okay. It is like a chain reaction. Please, for your own sake, before you post a reply on your opinion, at least check out on the internet and see for yourself what Halloween is about. I will await your responses.
  5. Thanks Dymond. Your mom did do a great job raising you.As you said Acidify, you go to a scary or "spooky" place, where people thought they saw dead people (just a myth of course), and where you can be chased around by fake knives and chainsaws to make it more realistic. Yup, it sounds pretty dark and spiritualistic to me. That is why I think that Halloween has turned into something that people use to celebrate, unknowingly, the dead. Think about folks. In all the windows are skeletons, witches, and goblins. Spirits and ghosts. I still hold my argument that Halloween is satanic.Halloween may be a time for fun, but so is stealing, graffiti, and vandalism to some people. You are just having fun in a way that proves to be satanic in my opinion. It should not be celebrated by Christians. No one so far says it is fine with God and that He is sitting up there watching with a smile as you dress up as a witch. Can anyone say that? I don't think so.
  6. I actually do find the new features handy. They work great if you accidently mess up or for some reason click on the inbox and it ruins your message. The export I don't use, but it probably works great just like all of google's stuff. It will soon out compete yahoo.
  7. I like horseback riding hands down. It is challenging and it is great to be able to ride and train something four times your size. I think it is really cool and name it my favorite all time sport. I rode for almost two years with a riding instructer that sent people to some of the largest compitetions in the world. It was awesome working with a riding instructor that good. I would suggest riding for anyone who likes a adreneline rush in a sport and can work hard for at least an hour.
  8. But Goldinero, Christmas and Easter were not rooted in Satanic origins. I myself believe it is okay to celebrate Christmas as a Thanksgiving time. Being thankful for the things the Lord has given us. Easter however, is a direct relation to Christ's rising. That I know is accurate, even if some people also celebrated it as a pagan holiday.Another thing to remember is that while having that strong relationship with Christ, it is important to know that we are to follow His commandments and remember, "What Would Jesus Do?". Would He really dres up in a ghost costume, when He Himself says that the dead are dead until His second coming and that the dead know nothing? Than why does it stand to reason that we should do that and expect Him to be smiling down at the wonderful time we are having celebrating Halloween?Would you really dress up if Jesus was there? What if you knocked at a door, and Jesus was there, and He asked why there is so much evil, why there is looting, and witches, and goblins and monsters, things that don't exist, but you are trying to impersonate them? It seems to me that I would be standing there pretty red in the face as I look down realizing that I myself am in a suit that doesn't quite fit a Christian. All I can say to your reply is that you are saying it is okay to celebrate Halloween as long as you are making sure it doesn't make anydiffernce to your kids. Take a look at Halloween. Then come back and tell me that it adds to your spiritual life.
  9. By leading children astray, yes, it does make it evil. It could have been prevented! The books were actually written with real life witchcraft in them. This lady actually took and researched and maybe even messed around with witchcraft and then put it in a book. Do you see something wrond with this?I also think it is great for a church to have a get together. But it better not be related to anything concerning Halloween. Do you really lok at Halloween and it's origin and see God smiling down His approval?
  10. Quite interesting! I can imagine the panic of all the people worried about whether they will be able to get gas or not. It gets people a little crazy. But if you do wait, what if no gas comes?I was thinking about this, and decided that it would very interesting once our oil reserves start running low. They are already talking about how in a couple of years, they will start to be a strain for gas as the oil starts running out. Well hey, great topic. Have a good day!
  11. I don't think you guys are getting the point of this matter. I don't blieve in reading harry potter because I actually have heard from several sources, books, news, and articles, that the books were actually written so that kids could see how witchcraft works. I was reading and also heard from a friend, that after reading the books, some kids started playing, "devil games". The would actually levitate on brooms that they sayed were held up by demons, or evil angels. They would use this as a new way to play soccer. See a problem with the books now. If you wanted to, you could indulge your mind into that book and play around with witchcraft. You are letting the devil actually sneak in. Same with halloween. Its origins may have been long ago, but I don't think God is looking down with approval as He sees His followers dress up as the witches, and goblins, and ghosts, and monsters that are suppose to be dead.I can't find anywhere in the bible supporting that. That text can be used in todays context. Now we have seances, devil worship, and supporting these practices with things such as Halloween.
  12. But the problem with your veiwpoint, that I see, concertina, it that you are not looking at the small things. Sure, the "big" things in the bible are important, but they are also easy to grasp. The small things we are talking about here are important. People who read this will have their choice on whether to act upon the information I have given. But why do you want to keep celebrating something with such satanic origins? Not even Christmas and Halloween have the origins Halloween has.
  13. So are you saying that going to church "once in a while", saves you from sin? I do believe you have some mixed up reasoning. Of course we sin every once in a while, but we are not suppose to. Of course we should worship Him, but that is not what saves you. It sounds more like your philosophy is getting to heaven by works. And also, you say we shouldn't have to worry about sinning while celebrating Halloween. So is it okay for me to use God's name in vain and call Him swear words just so long as I am having fun? Or kill someone without worrying about sinning just so long as I am having fun and go to church afterwards? I think not! We are boung by the bible, if the evidence I have given you about Hallowwen isn't enough to show you that it is wrong for a Christian, then I don't know what is. The bible says to stay away from evil things. That should be enough to keep away from Halloween and it's satanic origins. I don't mean to offend you, but a true Christian, follows God's word.
  14. Thank you so much! I have been trying to get a hold of that code for literally 6 months now! I would like to offer my soncere thanks and expect your good work to keep coming! Thanks again!
  15. Ao)K-General:I am slightly appaled at your reasoning! You are basically saying it is okay to sin as many times as we want to because we sin everyday. The point as a Christian is to improve! If you can use that logic everywhere, there would be mass choas. And again, I am not trying to make you guys stop, man, people have VERY touchy opinions around here. If you don't like the topic, just don't reply to it.Dexter:Yes, you have a point there, but I am trying to make a statement that halloween actually had satanic origins. However, Easter is a little different, sure the Egyptians may have celebrated a holiday, but it is just a coincidence that it fell around the time of Christs death. Easter, for me, is a time where I remember what God has done for us, By sending His Son to die for us.
  16. I believe that OpaQue is right. I am a teen, (under 18) and although I could hold a moderator position for a while, I just don't have the time to contribute a lot to this forums while still keeping up my credits. We also have school too. Unless a potential mod can be devoted, it is a waste of the admin's time. But I do, however, think the mods are doing a great job. I have seen a lot of forums that are poorly moderated. Besides, as members, we should be doing our job too. Think how much easier it would make the mods job, if they could just have all the bad posts reported to them. So lets get at it guys!
  17. Hey Microsoft. I see you are doing a little math. Is this algebra terms? I am in geometry and it looks like you are having trouble with both. since a system of linear equation is usually refering to geomety, and linear inequality, can be placed toward algebra. I guess I am a little mixed up. Can someone please clarify this for me? I think I am correct.
  18. I actually have a site that I traded links with. Here it is. It gives pics and info on various countries. I would try here. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Hey have fun when you go. I have heard that Europe is a pretty cool place. Cheers!
  19. I use freebb.com It has a nice board, but is simple. It is very functional if you are not looking for anything fancy. There are others out there, just google it. Good luck man!
  20. Again, I am not trying to force my religion on anyone. But I am trying to make a point, to Christians, that we should not celebrate it.Galahad:Are you saying, that the only thing that is keeping you from becoming a believer, is a church a that sets a bad example? Many people are wrong by forcing their religion on people. The bible says that it is a freewill choice, made by you. No one has to accept God, but in order for God to change a life, you must accept Him first. I honestly believe this, and so will not "force" my religion on anyone. But I will still stand by what I said by saying that, as a Christian, it is wrong to celebrate Halloween. Personally I think it wrong for anyone to celebrate Halloween. But that is for another time. And also Galahad, remember, the bible teaches us that we ought to obey God, rather than men! This does not mean break the law, for our law is built upon the bible. Also, our country was founded on the belief of God. People can come in and live whether they are Christian or not. But we must keep this country's heritage and because we were founded on the belief of God, we will remain under God. It doen't mean that we will force God down your throats. But lets get back on topic. As I was saying, Halloween was based on a night of evil, where people tried their hardest to sacre evil spirits and ghosts away. I just can't think of how there is any good in it. The costumes we get now, of ghosts, goblins, witches, were the same things that the people of lreland were trying to scare away. We have actually turned this holiday from bad, to worse. And so I hold to my claim that Christians should aviod this holiday.
  21. OpaQue:That is great. You post was encouraging. I too, would like to thank you alive, for the great post! I have a few life changing experiences. Some would bore you to tears. Here is one.The day I was baptized. It was wonderful. Never have I had such a wonderful experience. I had wanted to be baptized, but didn't like the thought of being up in front of every one. So I held off. A year ago, our church had a special program over sattelite. One of the topics discussed was baptism. I felt a weight on my shoulders and knew I shouldn 't hold off any longer. But I wanted to be sure. So I askes God and said, "If it is your will that I be baptized, have the Pastor ask me if I wanted to". To my horror, the next day, he asked me. I said no, I was still to proud and afraid. I wasn't convinced and insisted that I had to be asked another time. The next time I saw him, he asked me again. Wanting to know if I was sure. I asked God again, to be asked one more time by the pastor. It happened. It was no coincidence. God had a plan. It was life changing. I was baptized, and it was the best decision I ever made. I now know that no matter where you are, God still has a plan for you. Even if you feel like nothing, there is still a plan out there. And it was life changing in a way I will never forget! Thanks again for the new post alive.

  23. I think gas will be on the rise for a while. The Hubbert Oil Graph predicted this a long time ago. I am a major environmentalist, so gas falls into a catogory that I like to research on.The worlds oil is starting to get low. Soon, gas will take a major rise, then, we should start to look for alternative energy. That is my take on it.
  24. I don't think Christmas should be celebrated as the birth of Christ. However, Because it does not have, and is not centered around satanic practices, I believe it is okay to celebrate it. But as a thanksgiving for the things the Lord has given us.But again, Halloween is evil in every part. That is why I can't agree with the practices that go along with it.Also Cerb, remember it does say in the bible that we should think on the good things in life, the noble, pure and right things. That means that we should actually try to distance ourselves from things that are worldy. Are you saying that we should be supportive of things deemed by God us sinful or worldly? We must think carefully about what we do. And may I ask, if I don't tell people about these things, who will? We all have a duty. Why don't you research a little, I think you will be suprised.
  25. Good to have you onboard liauce. The answers are simple. You gain points based on the size and quality of the post or reply. If your post is about the same stuff as the title and description, you get more points. So it is a good idea to not get off the subject. Also, remember to try not to attract attention to your post by writing a title and description that don't fit with the content of the post. You will be warned if you do that. After you have hosting, your "points" will turn into days. Each time you post, depending on the quality of the post, you will gain so many points, or better known as days. You lose 1 day after each day. The points do go down. So if you had 6.52 days left, you could come back in 15 min and find it at 6.51.The forums here have about 5500 members. Is that right mods? Anyway, if you need any help, members and mods will try to help you. You will find many people anyway and all of them diverse, so you should find people willing to discuss your topic.I hope I could be of some help and if I am leaving something out, members and mods, add it to the replies. Happy posting liauce!
