Hosting Packages Suggesting more hosting packages.
infamousflame replied to infamousflame's topic in Web Hosting Support
So that's basically a no on the multiple packages front then? -
Omg, it's just a complete rip of Firefox! Tabbed browsing, search box, back and forward in front of address bar!Come on Microsoft, surely you can do better than that! And Firefox has been RSS subscribable for ages. Microsoft seems to be simply catching up with Firefox and giving itself a new look (in Firefox there are selectable themes made by contributors, but this can't happen in the current version of IE (6)).This seems to be a shockingly poor effort on the part of Microsoft.

New: Astahost Hosted Pages Directory Established

So we don't need to link to 4ppl.com then? -
Hey,There are currently only two Xisto hosting packages. Once you get the second hosting package, there is less drive to provide content to the forums, because you won't get anything extra. (I know you have to work to keep your hosting, but there still is less drive because there is no physical improvement.)So, my suggestion is this:Create more hosting packages. This means that people will constantly have something tangible to work towards. When I say create more hosting packages I mean along the same lines as the existing packages; when you reach a certain number of credits, you gain more disk space and bandwidth.I hope the Xisto staff will consider this suggestion and get back to me as regards their decision. Also, if the answer is no, would the staff please explain why,Thankyou!

Hey Killtacular,I hope you have a great time here at Xisto. If you have any problems, feel free to post on the support forum. :lol:Are you planning on taking advantage of the Free Webhosting offered by Xisto? If so, what kind of site are you planning to make?

Yeah, when are you gonna post your next firefox tweak? I can't wait! Thanks a lot for the info! Btw, when you say that the tweaked firefox overloads servers, what exactly did you mean?

Thanks for the heads-up. I have desktop search installed, so I will need to think about installing the plugins.

SMF Version 1.0.5 Released! ALL USERS MUST UPGRADE
infamousflame replied to Trekkie101's topic in Software
WeaponX, go to Simplemachines.org and download the latest version, then upload that, and also you will be able to check if you can go straight to 1.0.5 if you don't want to reinstall. By the way, if you reinstall, just give the installer your old database details and it should work without any loss of data. If you don't want to do this, search the site for information about your question. -
Welcome to Xisto Quadfreek, I hope you have a good time in our forums! Are you intending to get hosting? If so, what are you going to make a site about?

Computing Experiences At School how bad has it been for you?
infamousflame replied to organicbmx's topic in Software
Yeah, schools are quite limited by government and councils etc. I think. Though why they were bound to Microsoft I do not know! We played games over the network at school too, so much fun. We somtimes had problems with connections but usually it was pretty good! -
Podcasting Users choices and opinions

Is this definitely 100% legal, because you are not supposed to post anything illegal or links to anything illegal in Xisto forums? -
Microsoft In The P2p Network
infamousflame replied to Tommy1405241497's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Hmmm... I have to say this for Trekkie 101 , it must be a bad thing if it means Microsoft getting a bigger share of the p2p market. If you can get illegal downloads via existing p2p clients for free, it will be interesting to see how much of an impact a paid, legal service like Avalanche will make. -
Hi lethalbeez,I hope you have a good time with us. What kind of site do you intent to create if any?

That column effect is really annoying, and I would ask you not to post like that in future. Thankyou.

What do people think of this idea?Making an Operating System that is based off of Linux that has a GUI (Graphical User Interface like Windows), can support any hardware, any software, has the best parts of all the operating systems (windows' ease of use and UNIX or whatever's power). Also, can people post here to tell me how OS's work and how they are made? Just a brief summary would be great! :lol:Thanks in advance to anyone that posts!

Proxy Escapades The escapades we had with proxies.
infamousflame posted a topic in Computer Networks
Hi All,This is a post to tell of a story that has taken place over a fairly long space of time.Trekkie101 (a global moderator on these forums) is a network administrator on a network, and he is also a network user on the same WAN from a different building (LAN within WAN (I think, lol )). So he got the administrator's password and he also found out what the proxy address was for the network he administrated. So, we inputted that address into the proxy settings of our web browsers (Firefox and Internet Explorer) and we were able to access downloads and some other things which had previously been blocked! :lol:However, it seemed to block more webpages, so we came up with the idea that:If you need to view a webpage that might be blocked, you use the official proxy and if you need to download, you use the unofficial one (although this does not work in all examples). Also, when we print something, an IP look-alike address (probably is actually a proxy address) is displayed in the printer selection box. So this address was entered into the browser's address bar and we got some network admin information page. It told you stuff you could do and offered some login pages (we cannot access them). So, those were our escapades, and great fun they were too! -
Comment Spam Wasting my resources
infamousflame replied to jcguy's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Why don't you ask commenters to email you before they comment? That way you can turn commenting off until just before they comment. This would hopefully, hopefully mind you, stop a lot of these spammer bots. -
Nice, hope it gets published fully!
