i think the lime green's really good on the buttons, but it's a bit harsher in the main text for some reason. Anyway, it's still pretty good, so don't bother changing it. I would be glad to help with the forums side of things and also if you want to do an exchange, just email me the details when you're ready. Oh, btw, email is good for me, so if you want me to help with the forums side, you know how to get hold of me.Nice job on the site!

Image Host New image host up and running.
infamousflame replied to infamousflame's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Nice advice, thanks a lot, I'll go turn it on just now. (I realised two minutes ago that it's off by default . Also, I think I need to tweak some permissions... -
Why an IPB? Have you ever tried SMF? And that would be cool if you made your own system. It would be pretty diffifcult to do though wouldn't it?
-
Hey, i am looking for a php/mySQL based hosting credits system like the one integrated into Xisto. it would be based off the number, quality and non-foul language of posts in a Simple Machines Forum. If anyone has any ideas or would like to know more so they could help, please post here. Thankyou! Forum: SMF beta 3 public: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
-
What message board software are you going to use? I'd be happy to help you with it if it was SMF. That's my speciaility, aside from making sites that have the server structure:public_html>packages>package1 (containing <?php require("http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/;)?>! :PSo, if you want any SMF help, just let me know!

You too Chris. What is your site going to be about?

People who are already hosted what do you think of astahost?
infamousflame replied to gritto's topic in Web Hosting Support
I think Xisto is the best free webhost currently in existence. it has a good looking and fully featured cPanel. It also has a generous 150MB disk space which is plenty for a website. 5GB bandwidth is a lot, but I don't know how quickly that is used up. However, I am sure that if someone was running out of bandwidth and there were lots of people in the same position, then Xisto would create another, higher BW package. There are very friendly staff here and I have no complaints. Thankyou Xisto! -
Hey Chris. I'm glad you decided to move to somewhere your knowledge and opinion will be valued. Are you intending to host a site with us?

Image Host New image host up and running.
infamousflame replied to infamousflame's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Well, is Image Shack not like a proper, fully serviced thing rather than something put up because the webmaster had spare diskspace? Anyways, do you think I should turn signups off then? It's just that doing that might cause spam or porn or whatever. -
Image Host New image host up and running.
infamousflame posted a topic in Websites and Web Designing
I have today set up an image host using my Xisto account. There will be a limit on how much space I allow each user to take up, this will be decided once I see how much interest there is for the host. -
I would like constructive criticism of my forum please:http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ in advance!

You're welcome. There is a tutorial on asta for firefox tweaks. And I think I actually found it in Firefox's options screen or maybe through FireTune (a program for tweaking FF.) However, i wanted to post about it and couldn't find it so went through about:config and searched for it. Glad this helped!

London Under Terrorist Attack 6 Bombs
infamousflame replied to Trekkie101's topic in General Discussion
I just want to emphasise that although it was obvously a terrorist attack, as was said by a police chief, it has not been confirmed that Al Qaeda was behind the attack. -
Cool. lol, you should see my admi panel's version check. It's highlighted the tempates as being beta 3 rather than beta 3 public!

I love this Firefox feature. It allows the screen to scroll very smoothly as opposed to jerkily. To enable it:Go to "about:config" in Firefox (address bar).In the filter box, enter: general.smoothScrollDouble click on the option below the filter box.Restart Firefox and you will now be scrolling smoothly all over the web!

Windows Sercurity Centre Is Spyware?
infamousflame replied to crs_cwiz1405241504's topic in Security issues & Exploits
lol, that's a bit random, I don't get those messages, so I wouldn't know. I wouldn't have thought that Microsoft would deliberately infect your computer or make it more vulnerable to attacks or viruses etc. However, it is possible that it opens up some vulnerability somehow, and Mircosoft might not know about it. If anyone else has noticed this, please post it here and maybe we should let Microsoft know. -
Nuclear Fusion Reactor
infamousflame replied to crs_cwiz1405241504's topic in Science and Technology
So what's the benefit of nuclear fusion? As far as I was aware, it's just the bonding of atoms. And maybe they've developed some sort of super-heat-resistant material recently. -
Help: How To Make A "shoutbox " ? Who know how make Shoutbox ??
infamousflame replied to iGuest's topic in Programming
See, I always prefer to have my scripts hosted on my own account. It just gives me a feeling of control that I know I can fully edit/delete it. Another remotey hosted shoutbox is Shoutmix but you have to pay to get it to auto-refresh (like the one on Xisto). You can see the shoutmix box in action on my forum: IFF, although it's not being used, because my forum is still growing. -
Astahost/trap17 Applying here for Trap17 hosting?
infamousflame replied to runefantasy's topic in Web Hosting Support
yes btw, Xisto was created first. Then they decided that the cause of problems there was that they were trying to make money, so they made Xisto. -

London Under Terrorist Attack 6 Bombs
infamousflame replied to Trekkie101's topic in General Discussion
I believe the figures currently stand at 37 people dead and 700 injured. This is a horrific event and I thank everyone for their support, on behalf of those poor people in London. Apparently the underground network was supposed to be back to normal today except where the bombs actually went off. And some overground trains were running yesterday. I'm not sure what's happening with the buses. -
How To Install SMF Installing Simple Machines Forum
infamousflame replied to infamousflame's topic in Software
By the way, if you use Fantastico to install it, it will probably be an older version, and you will need to update. This is easily done through the Package Manager in your forum's Admin Panel. -
Wow! That's a heck of a lot of changes and additions. The admin panel has definitely changed a lot, it's much easier now and everything is grouped more correctly. It takes another click or two to modify themes though. Everything is in groups, I dunno if that has always been the case and I ain't noticed, but now there are choices along the top of each group of options. I can't really be bothered reading through the whole changelog, are there any major in-board/in-post changes? Thanks a bunch for any answers to these questions!

I'd agree with the comments about the white glow on the text, it makes it look blurred. Also, I don't like the diagonal line, but I wouldn't say it makes it look cheap, I just don't like it.
