  1. i dont think they'll be able to put tv in ur eyes... that sounds abit stpid. ur eyes wont be able to focus on something attached to it ; its way to close lol. i think this is mentioned in another topic on this forum, the technology is nteresting and i'd like to see where it goes as its refined. worksheets may become interactive, school learning might completely change. its quite nifty gizmo having paper thin television. ;o
  2. hmmm... i dont think this is even possible. i mean, what we see in our dreams cant drectly be translated into some sort of visual projection. when i dream things change all the time and when i awake i realise that they dont have specific details or features. if a friend was in my dream i wont remember what they looked like or wat they were wearing as they dont actually exist in the dream, but what i do realise is teh fact that they were present at the time and i recognise was actions they took or what they said. its hard to determine exactly how to convert these particular thigns to a streamline movie. if this kinda of technology did exist, i dont think it wold be that accurate. ;o
  3. this definately sounds like a hardware problem. a similar scenario happened to me a few years back. i think its triggered by a virus and slowly damages your harddrive there after. the virus changes the writing sectors of the harddisks and corrupts vital areas which then leads to not being able to access or write to parts of it. the more you try to write to these areas the bigger the damaged areas get and sooner or later you wont be able to read from the harddrive at all. formatting worked the first tfew tiems, but then my hdd totally buggered and i couldnt even read from it. i ended up changing the hdd to fix the problem.
  4. maybe he meant 500% faster? even still i doubt this is true. its seems as though x-master has posted this for the sole purpose of advertising this software... there are example pics and links to trial downloads... and he ahsnt posted anything esle. pretty sad going to this extent just to advertise a piece of software.
  5. thats ratehr interesting. mabye one day worksheets for schools will be replaced by interactive paper which teaches the students everything haha. i laugh at it now, but i wouldnt be surprised if it were to come about one day. ;o
  6. defrag once in a while. close any programs which start at boot whic dont need to be.. del temp files... hmm, there are plenty of ways.
  7. why is everyone so excited with the [x] on each tab? if u have a scroll mouse u can just click teh scroll on which ever tab u want to clsoe and it closes. its works teh same with links, if u want to open a new link in a new tab simple middle click on the link. thats how i've always done it, the new [x]s on each tab irritates me. i liked it when it was simple and uncluttered.
  8. hmmm... whats wrong with your current template? i think its rather nice. practical and easy to navigate; doesnt strain the eyes at all. what were u thinking of doing to it? i'm a graphic designer myself; i think ur sites template is fine just the way it is. it suits its purpose, anything more flash might take it over the top. the only thing i'd change is the composition of the company logo in the corner. it could do with a little more snaz, but its nothing big. some small colour changes could brighten it up abit too, but thats really up to you. i'd stick with the current template. it just needs a little re-working here and there. good luck with it. ;]
  9. thats pretty nice, i guess its alot nicer than the xp bar. i hate the xp bar, it lacks depth and balance. the start menu icon pisses me off extremely. although i woudnt mind switching to this theme, i'll be tolerant of the standard xp theme as it seems to be the least buggy. 3rd party gui systems have always crashed on my pc. gets really irritating at times. i'll just wait until vista ofically comes out before i feel the gui design ;]
  10. will this technology war ever end haha... figures not. it seems that techology wins money thse days. the better the gizmo the bigger the cash inflow. another thing woud have to be asthetic qualities. everything has to look nice now. fashion is shooting through the roof. i guess microsoft cant let apple win through with this mp3 war. the ipod is keeping apple plenty alive and its not look too flash for microsoft. i guess this is how they're gonna retalliate. doesnt look too flashy, but i bet the stats on this thing pwn. i personally think ipod wins the looks aspect, i'm not into the whole buttons sticking out nemroe. i like my objects refined and smooth. if i wre too design an mp3 player it would be like an ipod but the whole side would be a touchscreen where u rotate and such on a gui interface which directly animated withing the screen. that would be a killer piece of equipment for me, esp better on movies too.
  11. i switched to broadband long ago... i never had problems with web page loading or dling. even when i was on dial-up i never used web accelerators i just didnt see the need. i got used to slow loading pages and every1 catered for them at the time. when i hit broadband i even stopped using download accelerators excaept for maybe once or twice where the files i was downloading were over a gig. i'm glad i never tried web accelerators, they've always seemed a bit dodgy to me, and they still do. i just dont like the idea of preloading data onto computers.
  12. this also happened to me. at one stage i hadnt turned off my pc for months and during that time i didnt receive a sigle virus. i surfed, dled and used IM applications. i think i was just lucky, the next time aroun i received about 15 viruses in just a week. now i use firewalls, firefox, anti-virus and anti-spyware software. i dont have any problems, my pc loads up at the same speed everytime. hasnt crashed or frozen in a long time, doesnt lag either. i'm pt happy with the state of my computer atm. ;]
  13. well i believe that girls go there to talk privately aswell. toilets may be dirty in some places, but its just that private atmosphere which allows them to talk to each other without the worry of anybody hearing. i also believe that its for protection. girls have been killed and raped in toilets before and when going into a public toilet at a train station for example, it could be fairly scary to go alone. even i'm scared of going into public toilets like that... if your so curious why dont you just ask a girl. not that hard, i would've asked myself but i'm not really interested as to why they do this lol.
  14. your idea on thoughts in pretty interesting... but u know the brain is the least known about part of our body. how it works is still a mystery.... its quite amazing when you think about it. in every brain on this planet lies a world many times bigger than earth itself. its all nicely packed into twines of tissue. how these cells produce thougts, imaginations, dreams... who knows? our heads have never ending capacity, nobody has ever used over 10% of their full brain capacity. it we were able to somehow unlock our brains into exceeding this limit there could be endless possiblities to what we could do. telepathic communication? some people are already able to do this... seeing as they are human aswell it only seems right that we have that ability too, we just dont know how to tell our brain to do so. i find it quite interesting that one of the biggest mysteries of the world is in ur own skull. ;]
  15. hmm... i dont think its the fact that it is infact a day of bad luck, its just that people make it a day of bad luck. on a normal day, as ur calling it (everyday is normal to me), if something bad happened it wouldnt neccessarily be seen as bad luck or a bad omen etc etc but if it were to happen on friday the 13th it is immediately recognised and connected by the person or people to having a connection to that particular day. people are affraid of it and see any normal bad happenings as the doings of the date. i dont believe in any nonsense bad luck days or numbers of teh devil bla bla... its just not rational enough for me to believe. everything was thought up by humans in the first place meaning that they never existed before us and cant be considered anything mroe than beliefs.
  16. hmm.. i'll definately try this. i try everything t least once... its just that my previous expierences with ie were really bad. i got flooded with spyware, viruses and what not which all miraculously stopped after switching to firefox. ;T if ie7 is as stable and proteted as they claim it to be i may stick with it but firefox being so basic and easy to use has my vote for teh time being.
  17. hmmm.. my new phone has mp3 ringtone support which really broadened by selection of songs. i have heaps i wouldn't mind as ringtones but alot of them just dun suit what i consider to be a ringtone. i had shaka labbits - parade before but i recently switched to the pillows - last dinoaur. both the songs are solely instrumental a the start so it doesnt sound too bad each time it rings. i hate ringtones where its a vocal voice singing, doesnt seem right, well to me neway.
  18. its interesting, everyone is saying how being thinner isnt neccessary, but you'll be surprised with what they might come up with in the future using this technology. its not the fact that its 1.48mms thick, much rather the fact that they CAN make it that thin.
  19. some basic changes and modifications here and tehre might be nice. say, layers and anti-aliasing brush strokes. but nothing overboard, paint is there as a simple image manipulator. anymore and it wont be paint anymore. there are other programs out there which are used for advanced editing, if microsoft were to make some top of the line image manipulator they will be crushed by the industry standards such as adobe photoshop. it will be a waste of time and money.
  20. fibnger prints eh, last i heard they actually upgraded to blood vessels. that it, they scan the veins and bloodflow inside your fingers as each persons is unique. this stops the whole finger print copying schemes and should also stop the idea of cutting epoples fingers off as they have to have blood running through, i'm not sure it thats a fact, but i do know they they scan the vein structure of the finger. its still in testing i think so it wont be around for a while.
  21. lol, i was thinking something like this was abit overboard... glad its not true. if they really had created a thinking brain it would be reallly big news, a revolution in its own way. the world would fall into a new era of working brains lol. i wonder if this technology did come true and teh world was taken over by rogue brains lol. that would be the day.

    Nokia N90

i heard alot of bad reviews for the n90. for me it was a choice between either an n70 or n90. i researched my **bottom** off and found that the carl zeis camera on the n90 was poorer quality than the standard no-brand camera on the n70. the n70 also offered more application compatibility for its symbian os. i'm glad i chose the n70 though, its such a great phone. does everything i want and more. the only thing i can see better on the n90 to the n70 is the screen resolution, which i'd really appreciate on an n70 cause i play gbc and snes roms on my phone but the screen res is smaller than that of the roms. the n90 has a screen just big enough to play them full screen without pixelation. ;[ well i guess it will be fine until my next phone. the next gen phones have a whooping 480x640 screen resolution. thats really amazing... the quality is just superb. really really small pixels i tell you. i cant wait to get my hands on those babies. and most are upgrading to proper 3.2mega pixel cameras. sony are releasing cyper-shot branded cameras on their latest phone and nokia are tweaking their carl zeis lenses to have much better quality with their 3.2mega pixel cams. ahh... technology technology, gotta love it. so cant want for these releases... dam. ;o
  23. yeh do what the people started above. change ur password immedately and make it very hard to crack ie. symbols, numbers and letters (both upper and lower case). this makes it extremely hard, maybe even impossible to crack when its at 10 characters or more. another suggestion is to switch to a different email server such as gmail. gmail has excellent spam protection and loads more space. i also find it easier to navigate and much faster to load. i've never been hacked before but it would be scary if it did... my gmail password is ten characters long which indeed includes symbols, numbers, and both lower and upper case letters. if it somehow gets hacked, i'd be dammed. ;o
  24. i dont think what your saying is true either. to a degree yes, but otherwise the phrase is still used vbery appropriately in many cases. for example, if someone were to say it to their child or siblings then it would mean a greater deal than it would to say some1 u'd been seeing for a couple of weeks. love itself has catergories of its own. the love to a friend, parent or brother is a love that is passsive. its not the kind which makes u obsessive or attracted to them but rather loving them for their pressence in life. the love to a partner is that of affection and lust. you love them because your attracted and may well just want say it for sexual contact. then again, you may also love them truly, that is, u love them for who they are... i'm confusing myself. i think i made sense. well yeh, "i love you" has changed, but it still has its backbone depending on the context of where and what its being used for.
  25. hmmm... i think robots will start taking important roles in our lives in about 10 years... not 20... technology is blasting away at the rate its goin now. robots are an interesting topic. its the the robots themselves but the ai operating them. how safe can we make a robbot which is able to communicate and interact with humans? they would have to be pretty smart and may learn things which could potentially harm us. either way, i'm sure there will be counter-measures for such occasions as they would producce robots if they were a threat to us. but this brings many other topics. will robots be used in place of terrorists? well wars be waged by artifical lifeforms? onl time will tell.
