hehe i like the zune, sure its abit bigger and some of the features arent up to par with ipod but hey the screen is waay bigger and its compatible with more stuff ;3for now, my phone is still sufficient for music and videos xD but i'm sure i'll get teh urge to get a proper mp3 someday... much rather, when i have enough money to spare ;o

oic haha, you sure know a lot about pcs. so you definately think AMD over intel? i should be looking to buy within the next week or two, probably getting the dual core cause its not too expensive. should suffice for what i need. i'm not too much of a gamer, but i like to be able to play a game or two every now and then. i love red alert 2, havnt played it in ages but its such an awesome game hahaha.thanks for the help, you've been great! xD finally things are clearer, i actually know the differences between all this hardware ;o i'm such a noobie when it comes to this sorta stuff ;3

i think i had one before too, i cant really remember using it or anything but i'm positive i saw one in the garage one time. we may have thrown it away, cant remeber what we did with it. the oldest computer i remember actually using was the 486. it was godly at the time, only soon to be run out by the pentiums. ahh the good old days, love those old-shool dos games. ;]

the nokia n series are pretty nice. its good to get a smart phone as they can do much ore than ordinary phones. i'm pt sure all nokia n weries use symbian os. i'm using an n70, pt old now but it really is a nice phone. feature packed and pretty nice design. i like the n93 which is out now. i also like teh sharp 904 cause its got a 640x480 resolution screen but i have no idea if its out yet. you should wait a while, i'm pt sure a load of new phones are about to come out. older models should become cheaper when that happens.

oh so the am2 is the best of the amds? besides teh fx range i mean. cause when i saw that they were cheaper i thought they werent as powerful or something. you provided really useful information ^^ i think i'll be needing to buy a new PSU aswell. the one i have now is a 400w but it's about 2 years old now. i dont think it uses the 24pin atx connector. i think i'll just get a new case and psu combo cause they're usually cheaper. can you recommend any graphic cards? just something which will suffice, i dont need some top of teh range thing. aslong as i can do my work with good speeds and play the latest games with decent graphics i'll be contempt. ;] thanks again

i remember reading about these phases on wikipedia, kept me going for hours on end lol. its its rather interesting, the life of a star i mean. we consider our lives to be pretty long as we live through them , but when you're comparing to such things as stars and planets we seem so small and meaningless. thinking about space always makes me wonder if theres another solar system out there like ours where there is intelligent life thinking and speculating the same thing as us. even better, a solar system with multiple plantes containing life who are waging war, all being different species HAHAHAHAHAA. well we can all imagine cant we x]

yeh this is one of the reasons why i was considering macs. with both windows and macos they might just be worth the buy. i really like how macs looks and i'm used to teh interface being forced into them at school. we use macs all teh time being in multimedia design classes so having a mac of my own may not be a waste after all. the only thing holding me back is how much they costs, they're not cheap pieces of equipemtn macs, pretty expensive actually.

so you may have heard that my pc died a while back, i was trying to see if anybody in this forum knew how to fix it lol. anyway, i've now decided to replace some parts in it, a simple upgrade. i'll start off by telling you what i'll be wanting from this pc so you get an idea of what parts i need; basically, i'll be using it for multimedia purposes (ie webdesign, flash, 3d studio mx, maya and sound apps) but i'll also want to play games at a decent level of quialty without it lagging to the core. my budget is about $700aud so lets just say $1100usd.can anybody enlighten me on wat the amd am2 processors are? and it it worth goin with the duo core pentiums now or is it still okay to stick with the normal amd/p4 processors? i'm too poor but if they're really worth moving up to i may consider them. don't want my pc to go out of date too quickly. oh and my current hdds are ide, can they still be used on current sata cable things (small orange cables -__-)? haha i sounds so noob. dvd-roms and other peripherals can be dealt with later, i just want specs on the core of the pc. so what does eveybody think? you help is very much appreciated ;3

i remember watching some doco on the string theory and that the theory opened alot of speculation to how many dimensions there actually are. they do believe there is a fourth dimension, and they also believe that there may be more. teh foruth dimension is a non-physical dimnsion in which we ccan't see or realise. its the energy or such which creates things.. i think haha i can't really remember. i just know that its beyond us to actually see this dimension as it doesnt exist physically. it may just be what yiu guys wre talking about, time and space that is. although i find these sorts of things really interseting, i lack the knowledge to understand most of it hehe. it just doesnt make ne sense to mearrr, how can there be a dimension beyond the third. i mean what does it look like, just seems strange. ;x

haha yes i's always a laugh looking back on technology, hey hey we have to start somewhere x] IBM may not be great, but they were the core to the development of pcs along with a few other companies. we have to thank them for their hardwork. i actually love looking back at old technology in those antique cabinets with massive disk harddrives and floppies xD its pretty cool to see where we've been and come to, the difference in size:space ratio noadays is quite amazing whenyou really think about it. anyway, cngrats again to IBM, we couldnt have gotte this far without you.

yeh i don't think anything new is in teh making either. they'll further develop what we already have but i doubt anything new will be produced for another year or two. its really not that easy to create prducts which are much faster outof knowhere. they have to develop and research for a long time before they make any progress.

you can't just come and ask us for ideas and parts for a pc haha. we need to know what your going to use it for and what budget you're looking at. pcs aren't that simple, but yes Hadi suggested some pretty good points. if you're looking to buy it in one piece, then its alot harder to determine how it will perform. its best that you customise a pc part by part so you know what to expect once you buy and use it.what will you be using it for?

wow some interesting opinons. i'm against the existence of dragons too. i cant see any logical way of a creature being able to breathe fire, let alone ice. i don't think there has ever been evidence to suggest such creatures ever existed nor do i think they will ever find any. i do speculate as to why dragons appear in a number of ancient civilisations though.perhaps they were passed around by travelers and pioneers, i don't have the knowledge to say anything in this area. i've never really had interest in researching mythilogical creatures, though i do find them to be quite interesting.all in all, i doubt dragons could ever breathe fire or ice. i don't believe dragons even existed. at their prime, dragons would've been some make believe creature. people were alot more gullable then, they didn't have the science and logical thinking to doubt such existences.

thanks for all the tips and advice. i tried everything, but i really think that its dead. something must've been physically damaged while trying the new block of ram. i've gotta bye a pc now, its too old to upgrade alone. atleast i learnt a thing or two from this haha.

so i'm using a Gigabyte GA-8PE667 Ultra 2... heaps old now but legendary when it came out. my friend got a new computer, and his old one had a Gigabyte GA-8VT880. seeing that he didnt need the ram from it anymore, i took it and went on home to install it into my own pc.little did i know that this ram was DDR400 and my mobo only supported DDR333. so i shoved it in, turned it on and BAM. absolutely nothing. just a blank screen. i took it out and turned my pc back on... still nothing but a blank screen. nothing loads at all. theres not even power running to my peripherals. i have a dead pc. does anybody know if theres a way to fix this or is my motherboard completely dead now?any help will be greatly appreciated! ;D i have assignments due in a couple of days lol.

it looks very interetsting, i love the controller and the look of teh console itself, ps3 probably did worse in this aspect.. loooks like crap. atleast they changed their controller back to normal though, that bomerang thing was aweful. the wii can still pack a good punch imo. it has all teh classic games everybody knows and loves. ;D

you know, i had the same problem. there was a process which would constantly burn my cpu every 5-10 seconds. after a few weeks i had to replace mycpu and system fan. i formatted my harddrive, solved the problem just like that... stillver y anooying though. i thought it was just my crapppy pc at first aswell... ahh the damage it did, so so bad ><

indeed, some processes are vital to the computers well being. thanks for the tip though, i didnt know of this technique haha. i've been using other software to do teh exact same thing, didnt know there was an inbuilt feature in windows... ;D
