  1. Rofl, never heard about that but I believe it. My computer had ME to start with and I went up to 2000 which is way better It's no problem jlhaslip, I'm just here to help where I can. xJedix
  2. Welll, I play a game called darkthrone... You might have heard of it. I am making this so it will buy me items every 30 minutes, which is when I get more gold. I haven't used cronjobs before, if you could explain how to do this with cronjobs, it would be greatly appreciated. xJedix
  3. Well, first off... System requirements for windows me are as follows: " *Processor - Pentium or equivalent, 150 MHz or higher *Memory - 32 mb of RAM *Hard Drive Space - 320 mb to 420 mb depending on configuration selected *Display - VGA or higher *Peripheral - Microsoft Mouse or compatible *Modem - Minimum supported 28.8 or higher baud rate. *For Movie Maker - 300 MHz processor, Pentium II or equivalent, 64 mb of RAM, 2 GB of free hard disk space for video. *Other hardware is required for DVD, Broadcast and Web Reception, Internet Connection Sharing and Windows Media Player" This is taken from Here So, technically... You could put windows ME onto your labtop. But, why would you want to? First off... Windows Me sucks. Its as plain as that, there are so many bugs and problems with that os that I would rather have like 95 than Me. So, I were you, I would stick with windows 98 SE. Even though 98 has less features and newer stuff than ME, I would still stick with it. But really the choice is yours. You could if you wanted to. If you need any help re-formatting your hdd or any other questions, just ask xJedix
  4. Alright, I am trying to make this code do a loop so that it submits the form every 30 minutes. I have tried using a while loop but it only does it once. This is what I am trying to do every 30 minutes. setTimeout('document.upgradeForm.submit()',1800000); Right now, it submits the form after 30 minutes only one time. This is what I tried to do, since infinite loops freezes your browser, I set it to do it for a 100 times :\ var x=0while (x<=100){setTimeout('document.upgradeForm.submit()',1800000);x = x+1} I believe I need to some how tell it to wait the 30 minutes before repeating the loop, but I don't know how to do that. If you know how, or know a better way to accomplish this.... please reply. Thanks, xJedix
  5. To prevent people from taking images by using right-click, just put in a disable right-click script. It comes in useful in some situations but you are never going to be able to totally protect your images. If I really wanted an image, i could just take a screenshot of the site and cut it out I think its a really handy tool. I do this on my clan site but for the pages. I use a re.php to redirect the link to the correct page to mask what the actual page name is. There are ways around this too but it helps against noobs :\ xJedix
  6. Thanks for the info on making my browsing faster It's always nice to have faster loads. Just curious but if it does actually make your internet go faster, then why isn't these things set as defaults? It would make more sense if mozilla did that and then they could advertise saying their browser loads pages faster :PxJedix
  7. No.... if you don't have the disk with the operating system on it, then there isn't a way to reformat your hdd.My suggestion is to borrow a friends operating disk to install it. If its like windows xp or something, your going to have to find your own serial key for it since you can't use the same key on multiple computers. If you don't have both the disks or the serial, I would contact emachines and have them get you some disks and a serial.Hope it helps, xJedix
  8. I think this is one of the best free hosts out there. I would use them but I don't have any reason to since Xisto is good enough for my uses. But here is the information on them: Their site: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Forum: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ The hosting includes no ads, SSI, ASP, CGI, PHP, MySql, and Perl. Their basic free hosting plan is: 1GB Space 20GB Bandwidth Unlimted Everything Else Fantastico Cpanel Cost:Request In Forums 3Post Per week" Taken from Here They also have free resellers. Their basic free reseller is: "2GB Space 10GB Bandwidth Cpanel/WHM unlimted everything else Requirement:95Posts Now +15 Post Per Week" Taken from Here And then, they also have paid host. "8GB Space 30GB Banwidth Unlimted Everything Else Fantastico Cpanel Cost:$5.99 Monthly" From Here Also, they have paid resellers, and dedicated servers. I would suggest you check them out, especially if you need a larger quota for space and bandwidth. Enjoy
  9. Plugins on firefox are very useful and very smart. Most programs that allow users to make plugins for it; is usually a fairly good program.I use a couple different extensions in firefox. I currently use AdBlock, Image zoom(nice features for zooming and things with images), and web developer.Web developer is a very handy tool. It has many features. You can disable javascript, cookies, refer logging, etc. and then you can have it make a table of cookies for the current site and just a bunch of nice stuff. Its handy for doing stuff on the web.xJedix

  12. Are you talking about a script that is installed by fantastico or something your trying to install yourself? Also, what script are you using? If you are manually installing this, meaning your uploading all the files and configuring everything, then there could be a couple problems. First, did you make a sql database for it? If you didn't, thats your problem. You need to go make one before you can put anything in one.If thats not it, you might not have configured the chat config file to go to the correct location for the sql database. Make sure you have the username, password, database correct.Other than that, I need a little more info to assist you.xJedix
  13. lolz, me too... I haven't been arrested yet and hopefully I won't ever. I'm not trying to affend anyone but I think its kind of dumb to go do some things that people do and get caught. But, its your choice to do what you want and you will just have to pay for it... If you get caught :\ xJedix
  14. The control looks pretty crappy. Thats just my opinion, I like just regular controllers where they arn't two parts. One problem that people might have is that the middle cord might be easy to break if you accidently step on it or something like that.btw, what system is this called? and where did you find the image/information?thanks, xJedix
  15. It is a great feeling... Just like anything you get that is new. There is usually a feeling of happyness and joy :PLike 4 years ago, when I got my 1ghz computer... It was so nice compared to my old crap computer that had windows 3.1 on it That thing was so slow.... I need to get a new computer somewhat soon, right now I am able to run everything on my current computer but some things won't quite soon.xJedix
  16. Thats kind of a neat way to do a background. I will have to try that sometime..... I like to do radial blurs a lot to get a vortex appearance then I can change it and do all kinds of stuff like that. Thanks for the tutorial :PxJedix
  17. Uniform Server is similar to Apache2Triad. I like Apache2Triad more though. It come with a lot more features and software. Like, it has phpmyadmin, a couple mail servers, and a bunch of pre-installed php sites like phpNuke. Also, this bundle has a ftp server included which is very handy. Heres a little list of some of the main stuff included(this is from their site): Servers " *Apache *MySql *OpenSSL *Xmail *SlimFTPd ------------------- Interpreters *PHP *Perl *Python *TCL" For more info and where to get it, go here: http://apache2triad.net/ xJedix
  18. lol, thats amuzing. Whats the background? one of the visual effects off of a song?
  19. I go to so many sites repeatedly... theres just so many good sites out there and so much to do on each I usually go to gaming/clan sites the most... and I also go to many e-mail and search engines for all my needs Heres my list: http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/ http://us.battle.net/en/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (my site ) http://www.hackthissite.org/ http://www.darkthrone.com/?dt_session_id1=96536804c5f5a529243d2a5fd34baf6e http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html http://yahoo.com/ https://www.google.de/?gfe_rd=cr&ei=BwkjVKfAD8uH8QfckIGgCQ&gws_rd=ssl https://login.live.com/jsDisabled.srf?mkt=EN-US&lc=1033 https://accounts.google.com/ServiceLogin?service=mail&passive=true&rm=false&continue= https://mail.google.com/mail/ http://makeabackup.com/ http://www.good-tutorials.com/ lol, theres probably more that I go to, but I usually go to these sites fairly frequently. cheers, xJedix
  20. I was going to get a yahoo domain when they were $4.95 but there is one thing I don't like about them. You can't really do domain masking. Domain masking is where they hide the address the domain is pointing to. So if you had a domain like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and was pointing to jedi.trap17.com, it would re-locate you to jedi.trap17.com but in the address bar, it would show jedi.trap17.com. It wouldn't just show http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. But when I said you can't really do domain masking, what I ment is you can but yahoo adds one of their ads to your site if you use it. Which I think is a bunch of bs. Heres yahoo's little statement on it: So, if you don't care if they visistors can see where the domain is pointed to, then this would be a great deal for you. But if you don't like it, like me.... then you have to find a different place to get a domain. I still haven't been able to find a place with a good deal with domain masking included. If anyone knows of one, please let me know. xJedix
  21. Go here: https://www.google.com/cse/ Read the page, and read the tos... and then accept and click the get code button. Then copy and paste it to whatever page you want it to be on. I didn't read the tos about editting it, but I would think it would be alright to change it so the colors worked with your site. I hope that helps.... xJedix
  22. Trap17 was having a problem with cpanel doing that when I first joined which was in July. Since then, it has been working fine for me until now. It's doing the same thing the other people are saying. The bandwidth shows its 0.00 but I talked to a moderator in July and they said it still keeps track, just for some reason it isn't showing.Another thing that I find wierd is that awstats is not working either, everything is blank saying no one has visted my site though I am 100% sure that about 40+ people have. So I don't know whats going on, I hope an admin sees this and fixes it or it fixes itself somehow xJedix
  23. That is totally true. But i think some of it is personal preference and which way you learned to do it in the beginning. For me, I am just used to doing "" and using slashes with html, but the single quotes can come in handy in many cases. Its a nice feature they added to php, I forget which version they did that. Also, you can use the require function instead of the include function for doing headers and footers. Does anyone know the difference between require and include? I have never figured that out cause both of them work in the same general way. Another thing, using headers are very handy. Especially when your site has a login system. On mine, I have most of my login scripting in my header which I include on everyone of my .php pages on my site. So, just another example for what headers can be used for... But there are endless amount of possiblities in using headers and footers. xJedix
  24. Yea, like what CopperZepher said... it loads like a forum. It takes awhile to load it, they need to get some better servers running on it.This is a lot like what google has. I don't know if you have to have a gmail account to get this feature, but you can do basically everything that start.com does on google. It's is quite nice to have but i still like having my homepage set as http://us.blizzard.com/en-us/ so I can know about anything that goes on with blizzard.xJedix
  25. lolz, thanks for showing it... Some of that is so true... It does make you wonder though how far technology will go and what will be normal things in like 20 years.
