My Linux operating system comes with all that you are asking for, pre-installed. However, Evan's Calendar Reminder seems to be exactly what you're looking for.

Ah, even better than your Half-Life one (in my opinion)! I would recommend a one-pixel black border around the one that is currently on there. The border you have on there is more for webpages with (really) dark/black backgrounds. The text could use a bit of work, but not really that much necessary. I'ma rate this one 8/10.

Yes, by definition they are an atheist if they say they have no God or god or gods. But if they say they have no religion, that doesn't make them an atheist. Although they say they have no religion, they mean no "organized" ones; they could very well have their own personal religion, but choose to say, "i have none." I wouldn't say they're "afraid" of claiming they're an atheist. I just think they say such just to avoid any (further) comments from those who do have a religion or believe in God or gods. And also, like mentioned before, if they believe in God or a god or gods, they could still say, "I have no religion," while not being an atheist.

[question] Color Differenses [resolved]
truefusion replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
You're using PNG files for these things, aren't you?—i just remembered this. IE6 has trouble with gamma with PNG files, also transparency problems. Convert them to JPG or GIF, and you may fix your problem. -
You would require to put one in for each input element that has a name attribute with a value. My code was place there as an example to work off of, to analyze and study.

Variables, anything that starts with a dollar sign ($). In the form handler page (the page after submtting the form), you need to tell the script to receive the POST values ($_POST['']). Inside the POST array key ($_POST['in here']) you place the name of the input field (<input type="text" name="name">. Form: <form action="form_handler.php" method="post"> <input type="text" name="username"> <input type="submit"> </form> PHP (form_handler.php): <?php$username = $_POST['username'];echo "[b]Desired username:[/b]".$username;?>

This is the best sig i've seen from you. There's a lot of space to work with, but still a very good sig, evenmoreso since it was done in the GIMP. I'm rating it the same as S_M: 7/10 for the blurry text and extra room. The colors are nice and interesting orange cheese-like strips. Good choice in render, also.
-
In the textarea field after submitting the form, did you place the variables that collect the POST data into the textarea in their designated places?

Why is the width 700px when it is only for the navigation? Where's the content supposed to go to? In fact, looking at the code, there's no room at all for it. [hr=noshade] [/hr] Here's what i did, check it out in IE: <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/; <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> <title>Untitled Document</title> <link href="css.css" type="text/css" rel="stylesheet"> </head> <body> <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="697" border="0"> <tbody> <tr> <td colspan="4"><img src="site_files/header.png" alt=""></td> </tr> <tr> <td class="header2"></td> <td rowspan="2" style="width: 540px; padding-top: 5px;" valign="top"> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> HIHIHIHIHIHIH<br> </td> </tr> <tr> <td class="fill" align="left" valign="top"> Navigation<br> Navigation<br> Navigation<br> Navigation<br> </td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="4"><img src="site_files/footer.png" alt=""></td> </tr> </tbody> </table> </body> </html> CSS: BODY {margin-top: 0px;background: #6b4929;margin-left: 0px;}.fill {background: url(http://school-stuff.org/test/site_files/fill.png) repeat-y;width: 157px;padding-left: 15px;}.header2 {background: url(http://school-stuff.org/test/site_files/header2.png);background-repeat: no-repeat;height: 85px;width: 157px;}

Ridwan Sameer Vs Albus Dumbledore Voting
truefusion replied to Albus Dumbledore's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Ridwan: The text does damage to the sig, and a lighter drop shadow may have been better. But i like the glass and gloss effect on it: well done. The border works perfect here on the sig. The C4D render: if played around with, it could have been better and improve the sig. Albus: Nice render choice and text choice. Simple border, but it works. Background: Damages the sig. The text touches the top of the render—not a good thing, in my opinion. All in all, i vote for Ridwan, due to the border and gloss-glass effect. -
Yeah, it is. I have it installed for my site. Runs fine, perfect and quick. Didn't run into any problems with it.

Doesn't look good in Opera either. I say fix it up in Opera and you might get it to look perfect in Firefox and in Internet Explorer just by doing so. I'd look at the code and try to tell you what i find wrong; however, not now, need to do something else; sorry, a bit busy today.

Here, a quicky done in the GIMP. Now we await yours and the third party.

First Web Template [by Imtay22]
truefusion replied to Imtay22's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
As far as i tried to figure out: No, there isn't. You'll have to do things the long, old-fashioned way. Maybe they'll implement such a feature later on, and hopefully group layers along with. And i agree with most of what S_M said. -

[gimp] Gradient-brush Sig Tutorial As requested...
truefusion replied to truefusion's topic in General Discussion
Done: edited topic-post to include such. I tried to add it in this morning, but when i submitted it returned an error about my bbcode syntax, and i didn't feel like repeating myself again after that. -
Yeah, border really improved the sig. But i would suggest having the text and/or something take up more room in the right side. There's a huge openness that should have something in it. Also, the text could use a border to make it easier to read and/or point out. Besides that, i have a feeling of 5.59/10 (don't ask me how i got ".59" ) rating for the sig.

In the WINE application's database, search for the game you're planning on installing through WINE and click on the game's name. In that page, click on the version you're planning on installing and check to see if the distro you're planning on using, in general, will support it (install and run it). You may also wanna look at the comments to see if people managed to fix certain problem they've run into. Or, if you are willing to subscribe, you can use Cedega.

If you want a pretty good program that loads quick, you can try out PSPAD. I use it in Windows, and it's pretty good.

Kubuntu was the first Linux distro that i ever tried out. I've tried others (Fedora Core, ELive, OpenSuSE)—waste of CD's and time; had a problem with each of them. With Kubuntu i didn't have a problem with and so stuck with it, and in my opinion it is the best distro. I'm not fond of the GNOME desktop environment—too simple; that's why i don't use Ubuntu. If there are any GNOME-based programs i want to use, all i have to do is download some GNOME libraries and i can run them on KDE. Also, you don't have to edit /etc/fstab to mount hardware, you can use Mount Point Editor to mount things easily and quickly. As for adding repositories, you don't have to edit /etc/apt/sources.list, you can do that through the Package manager.

[gimp] Gradient-brush Sig Tutorial As requested...
truefusion replied to truefusion's topic in General Discussion
Hmm, the only reason i can think of why it wouldn't work is if the blending mode for the gradient tool is on something else (e.g. overlay, soft light, etc.) instead of normal. Besides that, any other reason might include the layer being turned invisible; not sure what else it could be. -
My house is surrounded by concrete; good luck trying to grow a garden in my area! Plus, i live down south: never heard about gophers in people's property. Anyway, i guess the question comes down to: Who was there first: the gopher or you?
-
What are the gophers doing that they require extermination for? I can't think of any good reason why one would want to eliminate them off the premises.

[gimp] Gradient-brush Sig Tutorial As requested...

3 text layers: each with its own opacity level—very low opacity levels for the last two; under 50, i think; maybe under 30. -
Skype / Xampp Port Conflict How to overcome the problem
truefusion replied to jlhaslip's topic in General Discussion
Or you can go vice-versa. If you know how to edit the httpd.conf file for Apache, you can tell Apache to "listen" to port 8080 (the alternative for port 80) and then restart Apache after the modifications have been applied. The only problem with this is instead of typing in the regular LOCALHOST/ in the URL (Address) bar, you'll have to type in LOCALHOST:8080/ But, like always, convenience comes with a price.
