Religion And Science Is Science Making God A Thing Of The Past?
truefusion replied to Rosaline's topic in General Discussion
Science, logic and reason are for God. In your post you claim to be a believer. Many scientific facts have been mentioned in the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) (hundreds and hundreds of years) before Scientists ever discovered them. Here's a topic that mentions some, but not all of the scientific facts found in the Bible: link. Here's the logic behind it: Only the one true God can give accurate facts about the universe and the things within it. This form of reasoning is easy enough to have people believe that there is a God, but for some reason, people choose not to. If you believe in Science, you must therefore also believe in the Bible, for the facts do not lie. This also proves that Science and religion (Abrahamic) cannot be enemies. If there are any differences, it is due to human error: either failing to properly understand how things work or the way it is explained (interpreted) in the Abrahamic Religions. -
Crazymind21 Application new and old stuff
truefusion replied to crazymind21's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Do you make templates that aren't heavy on the graphics? If so, i would like to see some. And, although could do without, some logo designs would be nice. Until then, you have my pending "yes;" that is, not official "yes." -
Tramposch's Application for grafix staff on trap 17
truefusion replied to Tramposch's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
The majority of your designs are surrounded by how you make sigs; that is, your creativity, based on what i see, is limited to the sig world. The beer bottle one is good—very good. But i would like to see some differences in your work. My current vote is, "No." -
Inform us when you've updated this topic with these other projects. Currently, there is not enough to make me lean towards a "yes."

Beating Given To Innocent Kid On the street, and I saw it happen
truefusion replied to seez's topic in General Discussion
What are the chances? Confronting the group (without a weapon, just something like, "Hey! What are you doing!?"): I (a); II (a); III (. Going to get help (you were walking home from school and was capable of hiding behind a trash can, therefore placing yourself in an area that can allow you to get help within the mentioned five minutes): I (b, with a very low chance of a). Confronting them with a weapon at hand (which you could have found lying around): I (a); II (b, c); III (a, .

Them leaving the kid alone. ...and probably coming after him again some other day. (Which may allow the kid to take future precaution.) ...and quite possibly getting them in trouble more ways than one. Them coming after you and leaving the kid alone. You, being "muscular enough", should be able run fast enough and far enough to allow the kid some time to escape, even more so if you're driven with fear (assuming they all chase you). You therefore being the savior. ...and quite possibly saving yourself by running into a (more) public area. Again, you being "muscular enough" should be able to weild the weapon well enough to take on most of them, or at least a few. Them overpowering you and using the weapon against you. Them splitting up having one half come after you and the other half stick to the kid. Them overpowering you and using the weapon against you. Better to go through bad times with someone than alone, right?

Saying that there was nothing you could have done to save the kid is just a waste of time—time that could have been used properly. -
Don't You Just Hate Nosey People? Gossip Mongers In Short

But does your neighbor know about this? Surely she was not the one that came up with how to test him, right? But if she is not ignorant of your parents' actions concerning you, then i guess she should lessen her worry on the matter, and consider asking about something else, like your health, sparingly (every now and then). -
Killng the murderers would spare them any guilt they would have after being caught and sentenced to jail. Many would say that is enough punishment, if they at all have any guilt, for the murderers. Then there are those who, when caught, was proud of their act and even pleaded guilty due to their arrogance—should these be put to death?—obviously, old age isn't gonna stop them from committing the same crime, for, apparently, they live and thrive on such acts. Then there are those whose life sentences get cut short due to "good behavior." But killing murderers isn't gonna solve the problem. The person that they killed could not be saved, nor is getting rid of one gonna get rid of them all. But "good behavior" privileges should not be given.

When you change the port number from 80 (the default) to 8080, in order to access your website, you would have to include the port number in the address, for instance: LOCALHOST:8080/

Beating Given To Innocent Kid On the street, and I saw it happen
truefusion replied to seez's topic in General Discussion
I'm guessing your immense fear is what kept your eyes locked to the group beating him for about five minutes (assuming your time-measuring skills are good). Surely that is enough time to do something. Since you were entangled in fear, i'm guessing that is what prevented you from doing something productive, like looking into the trash can you were hiding behind and seeing if there was anything you could use against them, or, like mentioned, taking the "spot light," or something. I can't believe the kid was beaten for something so silly! It was on school grounds, no way of finding out the ball was someone elses. And if it was indeed borrowed, then they must've had planned this beating for some time now, they just needed the smallest, silliest reason to be able to do something. Only if you keep telling yourself that... -
At first, i didn't know where you were going with the story, but then i read the "moral" of the story: If you wanna lose weight, exercising isn't the only thing that'll help. Indeed, "you are what you eat." How healthy do you think you can get if you just eat junk food and exercise? Did you know that eating right can help you lose weight? Stick to a proper diet, and you'll be fine. Also, if you're not going to eat, then give the food to someone or thing that would/will.

Don't You Just Hate Nosey People? Gossip Mongers In Short
truefusion replied to velma's topic in The Vent
So if they were only just nosey (not too nosey) for their own good, it is okay? But are you justified in your anger? I mean, Interestingly enough, you did not mention, state or imply that this neighbor was a hypocrit. You just said (emphasis by me), Since it was said like this, she is obviously not part of those "some of them." Therefore, why did you get angry when she is looking out for you? Did you know it's good to listen to complaints? Be kind to the ignorant, and provide them with wisdom.—just something i like to say. -
A Girl In My English Class Is Simply Amazing...
truefusion replied to robocz033's topic in Dating And Relationships
Consider the following before attempting to ask her out: If you got together, what would make you the better choice than any other guy? You sure this is not lust? (Sounds like lust.) Just how much do you know about her? How much does she know about you? Are you ready to have a relationship with anyone of the opposite sex? (Sure you're not getting ahead of yourself?) There may be other things to consider, but these things come to mind. You make this sound a bit bad in your post. Quite honestly, that should be one of the main attractions about a girl. Makes me think you wanna act the opposite way around her. -
You can install PHPMyAdmin into that folder simply by installing it through the package manager: installing the package phpmyadmin. The PHPMyAdmin installation (the defaults) may be found here: /etc/phpmyadmin. You can access it online here: LOCALHOST/phpmyadmin/

Gaming In Win2k, Programming In Ubuntu
truefusion replied to masugidsk8r's topic in Operating Systems
If it weren't for one specific program which the programmers said will never be for Linux (or Mac), i would have dumped Windows a long time ago. I don't use or need Windows for anything else: I can do it in Linux. This one program is called Fruityloops. I downloaded and installed the packages from Ubuntu Studio, but some of the programs confuse me on how to use them, and some just don't compare with Fruityloops. All the games i play are for my PS2—no worries here. -
Install the stuff through the package manager, Synaptic. It does all the work for you—all the configuration and everything. Mark for installation the following packages: apache2, php5, libapache2-mod-php5, mysql-client-5.0, mysql-server-5.0, php5-mysql, phpmyadmin. Mark any additional packages it says are required in the pop-up that appears. Apply, and viola. The internet files will be stored in "/var/www"—you may require root access (i can tell you how to make it so you don't, if you want), but you can tell Apache to use another directory instead of /var/www by editing the file /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default. Then, after editing it, restart apache in the terminal using: sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart You can also install MySQL Browser, Navigator and Admin, too; if you'd like. If you want GD support for PHP, install php5-gd.

(Your form of debate is such i've never seen before: i praise you for uniqueness.) [1]I'm sorry, but this somewhat tells me that the system is corrupt. What if i were to get shot 'cause i wanted to ask her a question (e.g. ask for directions to a place, for i am new to the area)? I would not be capable of believing that i could get shot and have no way of defending myself, for they claim self-defense. [2]Then why should we even bother mentioning it? [3]I apologize for being ignorant of all the weapon-bearing laws in all 50 states. I've only read the ones for a couple of states (Florida and Michigan), and that was a long time ago. The laws could have changed for anyone one of them, however. [4:1]Sorry, i meant replace it for the defender. I'll try to be more explicit next time. [4:2]May i ask what situation? They're at a safe distance, what could happen? Secondly, how do they even know that it's an offender? If they did know, that person would probably be violating their restraining order, for they've been caught before. [5]You fail to even link to these "FACTS" which you claim support your argument. I could very well, just like you, clalim that my statements are scientifically proven which support my argument. I for one did not state anything illogical, just like you, to render my argument false at any time. If you're even going to claim statistical evidence, provide some reference. You seem to be, like me, using nothing but logic to support your claims.

[1]Oh? Wait till i respond to number two! [2]Surprising part: it was at church. Ever heard of the Royal Rangers? It's like Boyscouts in the name of Christ. We were supervised of course, and all we did was shoot soda cans. And i don't know why my dad owned a gun: i never asked, nor did i live with him (at the time). Plus, keeping it under the kitchen sink is kinda hard to provide convenience for self defense. [3]Glad i asked. But what about quick learners? Also, how could something smaller, more lightweight and easier to carry around—which does not require any reloading and much, if not any, care-taking (when compared to a gun) take longer to learn how to use, even more so when there are switchblades and similar knives that at the push of a button are ready for action? [4]Reminds me of something i heard on the news a long time ago about a man who got assaulted, robbed and then got sued by the person that assulted him, and the attacker won the case! I'm sorry that i cannot provide reference for this news article, it is very old and it was local news. To even find the right keywords for it would take forever. However, if you want me to try and dig it out or at least a similar one, then i will try. I apologize in advance for failure to find it, if at all i do not find it. [5]Indeed; however, i was implying that you failed to claim but implied the reason on why she even dared. You back her up through the law, however. Do you even know how many people around my neighborhood i could claim pose a threat to me just by their looks? [6]What if you've placed the safety on your gun on? Indeed, what if there were more than one? You shoot one, feel safe, then because of your security, you drop your guard. Uh oh... What if you've been practicing using your gun too much that your forgot to reload? Indeed, a backup self-defense weapon would be good for both the gun and the taser. I would certainly fear for my life if i were near you and you had a gun. [7]Can't argue there. [8]I'm sure many would rather have it that way too. [9]Fearing for her safety could mean being handled aggressively by a stranger. You have to go into further definition when mentioning, "fearing for her safety." [10]Even if they weren't packing heat, if they were in public, where screaming for help would immediately have people rushing to the rescue, the stalker would very well think twice.

[1]I've used a knife and a gun before. [2]The knife usually kitchen stuff and opening packages with plastic packaging that just won't open! The gun was a sniper rifle. And my dad also owned a gun. [3]Are you implying that it doesn't take time to properly handle a gun? [4]And also a place that is unnecessary for a gun—which is exactly the place where the person would be justified in self-defence. [5]I'd run too if i saw someone pull out gun intending to use it! [6]So do tasers, and knives. [7]You may doubt it, but people are people. [8:1]True, but the offender would think twice after being stabbed or jolted. [8:2]Mhmm. [9]There is still one factor: the offender must pose as a threat before any action can be taken. By then, it may be too late no matter what defense weapon you have. [10]Maybe.

[1:1]Such would be an unjust act on the gun-holder: using a firearm for no reason, for the offender/attacker must touch her in such a manner that pose threatening in order to be justified in self-defense, therefore could render the gun as equally useful or less useful than a knife or taser. This is said excluding the statistics from 1:2. [2:1][2:3]Same can be said for knife and taser, 'cept for the pun and maybe the 2% part and the part about you. And it is quite legal to carry many self-defense weapons openly, it (usually) becomes illegal when it is hidden. Should i then replace the knife with a short Katana (which might even weigh as much as the gun itself)? Also, there are tasers that extend a certain distance. [2:2]Interesting, no statistics. Btw, you wouldn't happen to have any "factual" statisitics for knives or tasers, would you? [3]I don't keep up with the media; i used common sense: no "scare tactic" intended. Indeed, if a hurricane were coming this way, i would be the last to hear about it. And also the reality is this: statistics isn't 100% reliable. For if it were 100% reliable, it would be absolute truth. If the pain caused by a knife or taser doesn't phase the attacker, why should a bullet?
-
If you're gonna promote gun usage, why not rather promote knife usage instead? I mean, isn't a knife more easier to handle and take out than a gun? I mean, consider how long it would take to pull out a gun out of your purse, if at all you're caring one at the time to begin with—assuming that you don't have it on your side like cops do and out in the open. Also, the fear of uknown during an attack, and any hesitation, may cause the gun-owner to fail to react properly to an attack (even if they did take classes to try to promote stability, for a real attack is nothing compared to an imitation; although, the same can be said for a knife). Then there's always the factor that the attacker may gain the upperhand (take control of the weapon), and the defender can no longer defend themselves and therefore forced to allow the attacker to do as they please; yes, the same can be said for a knife; however, you have a higher chance of being able to run away from the attacker without worry of them shooting you; not to say that you'll leave unharmed if the attacker gets a hold of the knife. Overall, i recommend taser over knife over gun.

Skype Worm Jumps To Icq And Msn
truefusion replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Security issues & Exploits
You know, these "worms" i find interesting. How do they manage to execute themselves just by clicking a link? Where are they stored at, from where do they operate from? Is it limited to the IM client; does it integrate itself with it? Does it IM people from a remote or local source? Does it aquire ones password during execution? Some of these questions could have been answered in the articles provided; however, my laziness precedes me, therefore causing ignorance. I remember clicking on those links in IM messages, "This person looks just like you! Click here!" and didn't get infected—of course, i wasn't silly enough to execute the program that came with it. -
Heh, the earth is already not a safe place to live in. Do you know how many deaths are committed a year? How many evildoers there are? In some, if not many, neighborhoods you have to worry about getting shot or struck or robbed, etc. You even have to worry about natural disasters. As far as i'm concerned, the earth can only become a worser place to live—which, apparently, feels like it slightly is every day.

Likewise with what Jasper said: You can not just "snap" yourself out of it—it requires a long period of time to even start getting better. If one recalls what is making them sad or unstable, it may take "forever" just to even consider that there's a life to live, to put to good use. As for the title of this topic: You can't be strongly against "emo"—such is not only illogical, but also impossible. It's not an action like suicide is; it's an effect due to a cause. It's not something you can strap a person down from doing and telling them, "Don't be 'emo!'" or "Stop being an 'emo!'"—not that i'm promoting or suggesting that one should strap people down to prevent them from doing something. I of course (obiviously) am against suicide—now this is something you can be against. You may not be able to be against 'emo,' but you can most certainly be against the things that causes one to be 'emo.' Indeed, the best way to prevent such things is to put an end to the things that causes it in the first place (this of course may be impossible on a large scale). Suicide may be considered the apparent and quickest way to deal with immense pain (at the time), but the pain is blinding and misleading. The thing that causes such pain is usually due to the fact that they've lost at least two things: hope and love. If one is capale of inducing such things in the person's life, they should be able to relinquish the pain and see the light from the darkness that they're in. Many have been able to obtain these things through religion (Christianity; from God through Christ). Suicide also causes regret, sorrow and pain in the family's lives—one of the main reasons why suicide is wrong. You may claim that you have gone through such emotional state, but the fact still remains: it was not to the degree or intensity that others have gone through or are still going through, or that you didn't even go through what you thought you went through, for they would have been able to "snap out of it" just like you have. And telling them to "snap out of it" just doesn't work.
-
Define: "sidey." Unfortunately, we can only offer advice: Ask for a trustworthy person to walk with you. Avoid secluded areas. Carry pepper spray; or if it gets far too out of hand: a taser (just be careful with this thing). You may not be able to whack everyone, but self defense is self defense.

What? How silly! This is as silly as promoting anarchy! First off, why would you want to leave your lights on during the day? Plus, that would so rank up your electric bill. Likewise with the 2 degrees higher for laundry (cold water is fine, really). It's worse enough with gas prices to be using your car excessively. Don't even get me talking on burning fossil fuels, especially in the privacy of your own home! Did you even consider people's income when you mention this? What's so bad about caring for your environment? Convenience comes with a price—more ways than one. Everyone wants a better place to live, but their actions say otherwise—when they just sit still and complain, doing nothing to make the world better.
