  1. Closing topic. Ads are no longer an issue since Xisto - Web Hosting is doing good.
  2. Here's my entry. An image, a brush, and some text. Was experimenting something with this one.
  3. This is what i came up with. If you want the GIMP source file, let me know and i'll send it over.
  4. I don't believe it's due to the CSS since you mention everything works fine until you click a link, and 'cause the CSS provided should work fine. Does this problem occur only when you click a link or have you experienced it with other things? We'll have to be able to view the coding to get down to the problem.
  5. Could use more contrast—but i'm always suggesting this. :) I guess the current lighting helps with the text, but i'm sure the extra contrast won't ruin anything.
  6. I believe you are better off bearing knowledge of these messages, for if you did not have knowledge of what happened, you would not know the reason why she is angery at you when you talk to her and she shows you her anger. But, yeah, her having a boyfriend may complicate things—but it may also be another chance of fixing things, for her boyfriend may be more open minded. But Who knows.
  7. There's only one way i can think of: Examine the writing styles; question the text to a great extent. Besides that, it seems that this person that got into your account dealt a big blow. The only other thing you can do is continue saying that it wasn't you in a heart-felt way. And to prevent this from happening again: Log off from MySpace and close the browser before diving into other sites, or tell your browser to accept MySpace cookies for session only and close the browser before diving into other sites.
  8. Here are things you can start working on from what i currently see: Sigs Colors: More than one color, and choosing the right colors that work well with each other. Render: Blending and choice. Brush styles: use more than one—this helps with depth. Templates Designed for all kinds of connection speeds. Designed for actual use. Designed for majority of screen resolutions. I would suggest working on these one by one, not all at the same time.
  9. When you create a folder through a script, you lose permission to that folder because it is given the rights to the group "www-data" and not you. The only way to delete that folder is by having a script do it. But the PHP script can only delete folders that are empty.
  10. Although i don't use Redhat, i still vouch for Linux's security. You can't bring down all distributions out there by comparing it to one. Each make their own adjustments to the open-source programs and Linux kernel. However, what i find interesting is that they compared Vista with an already out-of-date version of Redhat Enterprise Linux: version 4. They should play fair by comparing it with the current version: version 5. But i would like to emphasize on what is mentioned in this topic on just how much faster the support for Linux is; that is, on how much faster the Linux-based companies are at fixing a problem. During a six month period, out of all the vulnerabilities that were needed to be fixed, Redhat managed to fix more than Microsoft, and there is no mention of Redhat missing any: But indeed, Microsoft should be given some credit on Vista's security compared to XP. They're doing better with Vista for however long it may be.
  11. I'm quite sure it's more stressful on the server than the hosted member. But this all could have been avoided. Actions do have consequences.
  12. Well, if you don't mind a non-database (i.e. non-MySQL), flat-file one, and if you don't mind waiting for me to finish v1.5, you can try mine out, found here: TrueFusion Image Gallery. I suggest to read the current posts in that topic to find out what to expect in the current version i'm working on.
  13. What you did wrong was delete all your files... The only file you were supposed to replace/delete was the index.htm(l) file. Other users have done this before—assuming it is the same files. It was suggested to them to cancel their hosting and re-apply.
  14. Not really sure what you made these in, but if Ridwan is correct, then that is very good work for Fireworks! I believe the first one is the best out of all them. It has better clarity than the others, and text looks better in it. I can't suggest much, for i am ignorant of what program you used to make these. The second one should have different text placement. The third one should have text like the others, but the bear and bearded dude mixture with the fade doesn't help the sig much, in my opinion.
  15. A division is nothing like a table as in it does not constrain the data, it allows it to flow beyond the border—this is one reason why i choose tables over divisions on certain designs. Suggestion: Don't change the visibilty, for that'll leave that big empty space you are talking about, but instead change the display.
  16. Yes i did. I know where it is also, but i just sent that one for laughs.
  17. Though it may be frowned upon, it's not "gay" to have long hair. However, you should watch out though, for people may confuse you for a girl if they're behind you—assuming by "long", you mean "below or on the shoulders."And you may be better off visiting a barbor shop to check out some hair styles.
  18. The homosexuals that join the Army, etc, would have to be the ones that look and act like a heterosexual. For even if you don't ask, and if they don't say, you can still find out. If they can pull it off, then i guess for the reason mentioned, it would be okay—assuming the bathrooms have separators and curtains.
  19. Not bad, but since everything but the two human figures are perfectly mirrored, it throws things off a bit. That's my only criticism, however.
  20. [1]If that's your argument, then it's inconclusive, for we can state the same thing in vice-versa.[2]What do you expect to show you? Jesus himself? (Amos 5:18) A dead body? [3]Prove to me that he didn't revive. Now there's a challenge! [4]You know there's a genre called "non-fiction," right? [5]Although they will take their beliefs to the grave, there is a way to prove which religion is right and which one is false: wait for Judgment Day (a.k.a. the Last Day). It is a promise by the Abrahamic Religions that it will happen. [6]If my religion is as correct as i believe it is, then you will have no time to tell us we were right, and why would you tell us? We already knew. And as to how you'll manage to come back alive: Don't you know that it's an Abrahamic religion belief and promise that we'll all be revived on Judgment Day and given new bodies? Do you think it's hard for God to do? He gave us our first bodies to begin with.
  21. [1]I'm not sure how African Muslims deal with converts to Christianity, but i know how the Qur'an says to deal with them. And, no, these converts are saved even if they're killed after converting.[2]You shouldn't generalize. [3]I never said they were. I merely asked what prayers you were referring to, for many people pray for the wrong things and therefore don't get and shouldn't get their prayers answered. And since you're an atheist (from what i got), you don't believe in Heaven.
  22. [1]Matthew 23:13 [2]Africa? You mean where the majority of believers are Muslims? You know, the ones who think it's blasphemy to claim that God has children. [3]2 Peter 3:7-9 [4]'Cause this world has yet to pass (Revelation 21:4) and 'cause humans choose their own ways. [5]And what prayers are those? Selfish ones? You know, reading the Bible helps a lot.
  23. You might find this tutorial i made for the GIMP useful: Gradient-brush Sig. For renders, you may check out S_M's render topic. I'd recommend looking up Photoshop tutorials as well. You can do the same things in the GIMP, just more manual work.
  24. This argument is actually for my case. However, although the 'facts' in Science aren't 100% (i.e. absolute), you'd be amazed on how much of Science agrees with the Abrahamic Religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam), the parts that explain certain knowledge of the universe and everything within it. [1]According to you, two requirements need be met in order for theism to be religious: The lack of faith in the inexistence of (a) [s/s]uper-natural [b/b]eing(s). Beliefs pertaining to the universe. [2]And, according to you, one requirement need be met in order for atheism to be religious: Beliefs pertaining to the universe. Is this fair? Shouldn't the first requirement for theism be excluded?
