Interesting, Bing took almost all the share of Comcast searches. One think I didn't understand, how do we all come to know the statistics, does the companies release the data? How could one tell if users clicked more ads in Bing than in Google? Bing is sure getting more popularity, its nice to have two nice search engines competing for the top position.

Yes, it seems top be browser cookie problem. It happens with me too, sometimes it doesnt load completely when I sign in, this happens especially when signing out and signing into another account. To solve this issue, I go to Tools > Page info in Firefox browser, then into to security tab > view cookies and then press delete on all of the cookies present there. The page will then return to sign in page, then I can login correctly.

I use Firefox for the regular websites and for email accounts. Similar story as what Quatrux has mentioned. Where as I use chrome for browsing new and unknown websites. I like the Iron Browser portable, thanks for the link. I like portables apps in general.

I also wanted to add another thought to the main topic. All this issue of multiple email accounts isn't just about the convenience of managing emails. In fact, it increases the time we sort through our daily emails. The foremost thing why I would like to keep at least two separate email accounts is for privacy reasons. I wouldn't like to share my email ID's which I use for banking, paypal, etc. with the people I meet online, in the forums etc. I think many would agree with me on this. No matter how difficult the passwords are, there is always the risk of somebody trying to sneak into the account. In some forums the emails are displayed publicly (although there is a feature to hide), by mistake if you choose to display the emails, that email ID would soon be scraped by search engines. Well, I would talk about a small incident about this as a new topic. @starscream: Glad to know it helped you. The methods under '2]' are also applicable to the email accounts of google apps for domains. Even the last method works, that is the one using greasemonkey script for signing into different accounts. It just shows the drop down menu at the top right when logged in with google apps email account as well. By the way, which method are you talking about which you would like to use? Here's just a small suggestion if you would like to implement. For the multiple email accounts of your google apps account, you could use a master email account which takes in all the mail from those gapps accounts. You just to need to go to Settings, Forwarding, there just specify the email id of master email account to forward to. This way you needn't cycle through all those accounts individually to check new mails, you could just check the master account. Also, there is a feature wherein, you can send emails from the master account to look like they have been sent from other accounts. So you can use this feature to reply/send emails as the slave accounts to the mails arriving on the master email account. Hope I didn't confuse you there. About the Google latitude feature, I happened to see that on a social networking site, Orkut. And now when I searched on google, I came to know that the feature is available separately on google website. Its pretty interesting. I haven't used it, so I have no idea about the privacy issues you are talking about. Hopefully there should be a way to disable the tracking of ones own location, but as I said I have no idea how this thing works. so cant talk about it. May be somebody more knowledgable about this topic can answer those questions.

Download Free F.e.a.r Combat Multiplayer Pc Game
BCD replied to phpphp's topic in Science and Technology
I didn't knew it was given free. Anyway this one is old now. Anyone who is heading on to download this... To make your download worth it play the game during night time, on a pretty decent sized screen, with good headphones. I haven't heard any serious gamer telling, "this aint scary".Edit: Hey, thats multiplayer, my bad, how come I didnt read the title completely. Well, its just shoot em up with buddies. -
After seeing the video trailers of sample game plays, I think the Diablo 2 was a lot good in terms of visuals. The diablo 2 characters were bright which I liked very much. In Diablo 3, the game has become somewhat like Warcraft with dull colors of the characters. The rest of the things will be as usual better than the previous ones, with more interactive and lively world. The animation effects are great. As for the story, I haven't looked around about it yet. By the end of Diablo 2 all the three evils of the world Baal, Mephisto and Diablo were dead. So hopefully, they will not make a comeback in this game again.I haven't decided yet whether I would buy it or not, will decide after its release.

Adding another method to this: 2] Managing multiple email accounts: c] This method requires that you use Firefox. You need to install the Greasemonkey plugin from the Firefox addons repository. Then install this User script, Google Account Multi-Login. Now, instead of signout link at the top right of gmail account, there will be a drop down box to select from other gmail ID's. For that first specify the username and passwords so that they are saved in the drop down list. Now, whenever you want to change the account just pull that drop down and select your desired account to sign in to. Pretty handy.

Well, you should be telling the answer to it. Did it run correctly after applying the changes? If not what is the error being shown?

Get Ad-revenue For Writing/posting Here
BCD replied to OpaQue's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
So, in your case its showing only past six months of revenue. I did a bit of googling on this. Hey, its true that the earnings before six months are neglected! This is ridiculous, I mean nowhere in thier terms they mention this thing. Check out this review from a previous Kontera user, nor did they send an email of the change of TOS if any. So, unless one earns more than 100$ in six months he is never going to be paid. Also it seems that the Kontera code slows down the page loading. @starscream: To verify that the money earned is really being carried forward, you can try doing this and let us know the results. So, since it shows six months of earning, each passing day you get a date less to choose in "Custom Period" selection tool. So now see the amount earned for the earliest selectable date, suppose it is $0.2 for 30th March. Now, see it the next day whether the earning of 30th has been added to the total earnings. I hope you got the idea what I am trying to say. Either of you can try this and let us know the truth. -
Get Ad-revenue For Writing/posting Here
BCD replied to OpaQue's topic in Alerts, News & Announcements
I too thought the same thing. There is no one click option to show all the Money earned so far. We have to manually select the date period. It works for me, I can select the range from the beginning of the month I joined it. Click "Custom date period" in reports/summary and select the date you first joined kontera by using the calendar "From/To" and the current date in "To" field. Click submit. Now it will show you all the revenue earned so far. Below that you can also select the report for individual website in case you have multiple sites which are running the ad code.Yes, the earnings from this aren't much, but it adds to the overall revenue in a small way.PS: The response from support team of kontera is qute fast. You can try contacting them and ask the problem. May be they can help you. -
I don't know much of PHP syntax. You can do something along what BuffaloHelp has posted above. A "for" loop to check the multiples something like this: for($i=1; $i<=$totalEntries; $i++){ $checkMod = $i % 5; echo "result"; if($checkMod == 0) echo "\n";} totalEntries should contain the total number of search results to be displayed.

Forums are run by members, more active the members more busier the forum becomes. Forums are generally created in an already existing website which gets quite a lot of visitors who are already posting comments to the articles, reviews etc. In that case the member base may build up quickly. So having a dedicated, owned forum is more appropriate than creating on one of the free forum creation services being offered around. And considering the other case, where a forum has no user base or any other traffic sources for quick development of the forums, then it would be appropriate to test it out on a free forum service first. There is actually no problem in hosting with the free forums, they run popular forum softwares. But the thing is that not many or almost none of them offer backup feature to backup the databases. Well, it would be great if such services offered 'anytime backup' feature, so that the forum creator can backup the database from time to time. This way he could rest in peace knowing that all the data is safe and if the something odd happens with the free forums service, the owner can easily restore the data on another/own hosting. And when there sites like Xisto which offer 'free paid hosting' with all the features which even a paid hosting wouldn't offer then there is nothing more to look about.

Yes, it can be really useful to surfers. Especially because the data/comments posted in the sidewiki are in Google's control. So visitors can post their reviews/thoughts openly. Many a times websites delete the content posted by the visitors which they think is inappropriate, but actually it might be an honest comment exposing the truths behind that product or service offered by that website. At the same time the opposite can happen too, that is users posting comments which defame the website. @mahesh2k: There is a way to read Google Side wiki comments without installing the google toolbar. There is a bookmarklet to let you read the comments from sidewiki displayed on a new page. You can find the bookmarklet on this website. Yet another service from Google for web domination.

I found the solution on the Ubuntu forums. Here is the link. Ubuntu comes with only the minimal version of vim. Installing the complete version of vim did the job. I also installed the vim-gnome as mentioned in the post. I entered the apt:vim in the browser address bar for installing vim, that's it. I also installed the vim-gnome (apt:vim-gnome). Now it shows at the bottom of the editor that it is in input mode. Also, it highlights the code for C. Pretty useful. Now I should be searching Ubuntu forums for any more problems with Ubuntu.

Hey lookout! Somebody's hacked the website. Hope you get around that soon.As for your question. I would better keep the content management system separate from the IPB. For the site, I would surely look into it later.

In our university I am currently learning Unix OS and Data Structures in C. In the labs we are supposed to code, compile and execute the C programs in vi editor. In labs they have Fedora installed. But I have Ubuntu 9.04 running on my PC. The problem is that I am unable to code properly in Ubuntu. The issue seems to be with the arrows keys, when I use them to move around the code, vi editor interprets it as some printable character and prints them. Are there any settings in vi editor to change the arrow keys behavior back to the usual ones? In Fedora, the usual process is something like this: vi filename.c Press i to get into input mode Press Esc and :wq to save and exit In Ubuntu, when I press i, there isn't any visual clue telling me whether I am in input or command mode, or is there any other key for getting into input mode in Ubuntu?

I would surely go with Windows 7. It had received lots of bug reports in the RC testing phase, and I suppose it has most of the bugs cleared out of the way (atleast as a first release), compared with Windows vista which had lots of bugs in its initial release.Since windows 7 needs a complete re installation instead of upgrading, you may need to backup all the data and software's installed on your PC. Also, there might be problems with the drivers, even though Windows 7 comes with many drivers. For example the default video drivers were not working with Second life and had to update to the Windows 7 drivers from Nvidia. So if you have some graphics related applications you might need to have a look at the compatibility issues with drivers.

In my first days on computer I used to see and type and continued doing so without actually caring for the correct usage, I mean using all fingers appropriately. And when one day I saw the typing courses and the format to use the fingers, it was very difficult for me to stop by and use the fingers correctly. I suppose its even more difficult than beginners once you are used to single finger typing.

Please take the poll. I really never had a thought about using the browser in full screen mode for regular browsing. I knew such a thing exists, but never gave it a chance for more than 2 minutes. Well, recently I had to work on a 15 inch monitor screen with 800 x 600 resolution. The browser, of course Firefox had almost 1/3rd area filled with toolbars. Anyway after removing most of them and getting into full screen mode removed all the clutter on that screen and gave a large area for the pages to breathe in. The thing which made me post this is, I haven't seen anyone browsing in Full Screen mode. It would be interesting to let your thoughts out about this. Do you like/are comfortable in browsing that way? I use firefox and it covers the whole screen with the page. It even vanishes the tab bar. May be you would like the tab bar stay permanent, to achieve that right click a blank area on the address bar (try right clicking just above the address bar) and uncheck "Hide Tollbars". For those who would like to hide the menu bar, I would suggest "Hide Menubar" addon. Very simple, press "Alt" key to temporarily display the menubar. For me I would say, it is best when the only thing I am doing is browsing. Even though bigger screens already display most of the websites in their best visible mode, but the clutter free pages are pleasing to eyes. So what about you?

You can do search and replace for the pc relative paths to site relative paths on your html pages. But first you have to know how your images are spread on your sites server (localhost). Are all the images present in a specific folder? If so, do a search and replace for the 'images folder path' on the html pages. Dont include the trailing slash in your 'search and replace' query if the images folder is present in root of your localhost (example: D:/xampp/htdocs/images). For searching across multiple files you can use Inforapid or Multiple File Search and Replace 2.2. If you have doubts about the path types have a read at this one. @jonnahlynb29e: The issue you are facing most probably is not a WAMP server related problem. So if you have any more doubts or issues please post it in a new thread.

Well said rayzoredge.First of all, if something is taking too much of your time, "take a break" for a week or so. When you return to it, you will see it in a new way. And each day you were away from it, you will feel not wanting for it and when you return to it after some days you feel that you are starting it afresh with clear mind to focus on.If you are taking internet projects as a hobby, then don't have any intention of making money at first. Proceed doing it with your full interest. And to do so, choose a niche area which you are very well or an expert with. As you mentioned there are tons of news blogs churning out constant news 24x7. So you know now that you cant compete them alone. This doesnt mean you shouldn't make a news blog. Choose a particular category/area of news which you think the people will be interested in. Produce the content in such a way that the people will be interested in coming to your site for more. News sites geneally give only the gist of the news. Research on that and give more information about that on your site. All this way keep yourself updated with latest buzz and news. For example if you are learning web design or photoshop, subscribe to some excellent sites like smashing magazine, abduzeedo tutsplus, etc.

The IP address 192.168.2.109 is your internal IP address. It is used to locate your PC in your network if you have many PC's connected. The IP address 222.127.160.25 is your external IP address. A person who wants to access your website, needs the external IP address. So, you should be using 222.127.160.25 IP address to access your website from another PC. Coming to the problem you are facing, as mentioned above check your firewall settings if its blocking port 80. Also, check router settings page (192.168.1.1) and see if the port is blocked. In some cases your ISP may disallow hosting websites on 'home internet packages'. So, confirm that with your ISP. If it does, then you need to change the port the webserver (Apache) uses for connecting to internet. Read the above posts if you have not already, most of it has been discussed in detail by the members.

The port 80 is probably blocked. Confirm by checking here http://www.canyouseeme.org/ Check firewall settings.

How Much Are You Worth To The Online Black Market?
BCD replied to tansqrx's topic in Security issues & Exploits
I took the questionaire and my digital information was worth around $180 with medium risk. Most of my answers were no, like I dont use credit cards for online shopping, which I considered to be the influential score turner at the end.The website has lots of good information, and some humorous videos exposing the reality of black markets. I would say the videos are very funny and must see. Very interesting site indeed. Thanks for sharing with us.
