  1. if index.html is still in the folder, remove index.html because the server reads .html before .php! xboxrulz
  2. heck, there's so much propaganda, false elections (elections w/ a lot cheating involved), scandals, assassinations and etc. in the States. Good thing I'm in Canada. Although, we being Americanized :S, which is very bad...xboxrulz
  3. cgi-bin is the folder where you put all your CGI scripts in. Perl, PHP and other server scripts do not require cgi-bin.xboxrulz
  4. LINUX IS THE BEST. I have ran Linux since February 2004, almost for a year. I have SuSE Linux 9.1 (kernel 2.6.4) on my laptop and SuSE Linux 9.1 (kernel 2.6.10) w/ X.ORG server replacement on my desktop. I still have Windows XP intact for gaming but I rarely go on that partition now. My favourite distros are Yoper and SuSE! I'm 80% Bill Gates free. The 20% includes WinXP, Microsoft Game Studios games and MSN Messenger.I am also active at the America's Army General Linux forum and sometimes in the Linux support forum.xboxrulz
  5. yea, and you guess why Windows is a crudy OS? IT'S BECAUSE THEY RELEASED WINDOWS XP AND OTHER WINDOWS TOO QUICKLY. PLUS, THEY'RE PROGRAMMERS (WINDOWS PROGRAMMERS) SEEMS THAT THEY'RE NOT TRAINED TO KEEP UP THE TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS. THEY SUCK!That's IMO, of course.xboxrulz

  8. FREE SOFTWARE IS EITHER OF THESE:GNU FREE SOFTWARE: The GNU FREE SOFTWARE is a philosophy developed by GNU is Not Unix (GNU). It is by means allowing people to modify software to their own needs and send out the sources again and again. It's covered by the GNU GPL license or the copyleft software license. (GNU/GPL can be found in the link above). An example of GNU Free software is Linux.GNU FREE SOFTWARE IS FREE AS IN FREEDOM!FREEWARE: A software that IS OR ISN'T covered by the GNU GPL and IS OR ISN'T developed under the GNU philosophy. Freeware is in theory, a closed source software that is distributed for free but you don't get to modify it. An example of FREEWARE is Winamp or MSN Messenger.FREEWARE IS FREE AS FREE FOOD!xboxrulz
  9. I think it's most due to cost, durability, stability and flexibility. Linux expands with you. You don't have to expand yourself in order to use Linux.Yes, I also hope that it would be a big year for Linux. Also, Photoshop does work on Linux! :rolleyes:xboxrulz
  10. Although you have Norton Antivirus, you still need to LiveUpdate every month because viruses popup everyday!xboxrulz
  11. I guess dexter is kinda right. The UN did put Saddam back in power. To start the war again 10 years later (after George Bush I)? Kinda stupid, if you ask me....xboxrulz
  12. simply don't use Windows :rolleyes:xboxrulz
  13. yesterday, Toronto had one of the biggest concert. "Canada for Asia" was a tribute concert by CBC. It had alot of famous Canadian stars together playing at the concert. It was broadcast live here: canadaforasia.caxboxrulz
  14. the problem about Windows is that they're trying to push Linux down as fast and effective. They just release crappy softwares (including ones with holes) just to make it look fresh for the end-user but it has tonnes of holes. Although Linux comes out faster than Windows does, but it's very secure because of the brightest minds in the world comes together. That is why Linux is the better choice. As for the Windows Anti-spyware, I'd rather use Adaware.xboxrulz
  15. y use Internet Explorer when you can use Firefox Anyways, just change the icon to the Internet Explorer icon then you're fine.xboxrulz
  16. It's a really bad thing. US and Japan knew about the Earthquake. It wasn't registered 9.0+ yet. But when they did, they quickly contacted the countries embassies by embassies, but they were too late!I donated $CAD 25.12xboxrulz

  23. well, the installer I've read from forums. Also, I'm the only one who is running Linux in my family (tree, I think), and all my friends are Windows-freaksxboxrulz
  24. SuperScript, I think I know why you're saying this; I'm guessing you're a business user who only use Microsoft Office, Outlook Express, Window Media Player and Internet Explorer and that's it. Ya, by running those, Windows have a 99.5% not crash. If you run other things than the percentage will drop to 60-70% which is not good.xboxrulz
  25. I do support building native support into Linux, but if there's no other choice than emulate them; you need to do it. CrossOver Office is not slow at all. I use it for Internet Explorer (bcause of my internet radio), adobe photoshop, and other office software except Microsoft Office.xboxrulz
