  1. I wouldn't buy it on Ebay, since the code can't be used twice. Its just the installation disk they sell. If you really need a code, I have a MU License, and I can give you a code, if really necessary, just PM me. My uncle was a developer for the program and they gave him a MU License (Multiple Use), so I'll help you out there. I have the Web and Studio, not the others so either download together or just Web.
  2. Captcha is a anti-spam service, to prevent unwanted bots from signing and up and advertising from auto-form fillers. Re-Captcha is one of the newest services to use Captcha service. It basically gives you two words, slightly hard to read, as an image, and then you write in the letters, then it verifies if it is correct then you get to sign up and the form is submitted, if it is incorrect or unfilled it is marked as incorrect and denied. Re-Captcha is rather annoying and hard to use. The best thing would be to have a math problem randomizer. I would have another section on the form what alternates from 10 or so simple math problems, as 2+2, or 3+2, and makes sure the answer is correct, the other thing would be to find a different captcha program. People often don't get Re-Captcha right, it takes about 2 tries, until you get how it works, since it accepts spaces wierdly. It comes from words from the classic books, and Captcha comes from the word Capture.
  3. Expression Web 2 is pretty good, around a 140, more than your standard, but then if you get the whole Studio package its only 160 not too much more, and you get the rest of the programs. It integrates really well, and its up to standard, compared to FrontPage and other programs. I actually use MS Word or Open Office Writer, which are pretty good, just save the files as HTML, or Web Pages, thats a good way to have WYSIWYG Editor. Dreamweaver is one of the better ones, just doesn't display all that well in browsers, so you need to do some minor tweaking in it. Try out some of the free ones, there is not really priced at 50, they are all either low-end or high-end, no one makes one for the average consumer. I would just get a trial, of Expression Web 2, and if you really want just get the trial over and over again, and often Microsoft, lets you get a new key with a new live account, or trying to get the key again, you can download the studio also try it out. Its well worth the price.
  4. I for one am against, the ways some people mock education here in the US. Even though it has its faults, unlike any other country, you can actually find sustenance and get a job and a career. You have a chance with your education here. In other countries, you have to be beyond a genius to get a job, and usually the best education is found in a private school. I do agree though that the US standard is low, because other countries have raised the bar, because their standard was lower. In the US you need to hold all these kids and get them through a standardized education, in other countries, like China and India, half the population doesn't go to school. Almost all trade workers are illiterate. You need to take into account the level they need to provide. The other countries have a selection process, and try to get the best of the best. In America, its different. The standardized test help to measure a level of knowledge, unlike other places, our teachers need something to provide a front. Teachers need some sort of goal they need to reach, and the best teachers are ones that can teach without receiving a goal, like getting half the class to get a 85+ on an test or final. We teach towards that final, but other schools teach towards their knowledge.
  5. That is a pretty good idea, but still it has its costs, as the package is a dollar I believe. Not free either way. The chance to get a crawler to index is pretty easy especially if its a paid host like you said. Thanks for the steps, though and the RSS Feed, is pretty useful, especially if you make it look interesting, and not a simple little button on the bottom.
  6. You know that's sort of like advertising a site. Well actually it is advertising a simple site like that. I wouldn't let that post stay anyway. How would you make money online from that? The site itself gives a link to Do Marketers Really Need RSS?, some article, and the hosting part of the site doesn't exist, it just provides ads for BlueHost, and other hosting services.
  7. That's a pretty good app. Is it also for the Zibri, jailbreaker also? My iPod touch needs a copy and paste app, since I actually use it more than my laptop itself, for writing quick things, especially since I have WiFi all over, my town and in the City. Any other problems that the app has had? If it gets to a stable version, most likely it will be released in the app store, I don't think Apple really wants to install copy and paste yet, because they need a boatload of new features, to get people from going away from the new release. The 3G did well because of the new internet capabilities.
  8. You can actually report sites like those to the authorities, or some sort of nearby internet theft prevention society. I really don't think anyone will take heed, unless you can report that someone was actually scammed, and write a petition against it. You can't actually prove its a phishing or scamming site unless it has done something to you. WOT usually gets it blocked, because it takes guard against phishing and scamming, it even says Quipis is a scamming site.
  9. Its a pretty good signature, but I don't like V2. The font on the left is sort of well bootleg, don't know how to really explain, it doesn't flow nicely. I would recommend using sometime like Arial, Myriad Pro, or something like that, possibly Italic or something like that. Just try to disguise the problem, and if you used Photoshop, just try to blur the background, and sharpen some parts. I would try to use some more filters, and apply a color gradient of an adjustment layer. This is only if you use Photoshop, for GIMP its somewhat similar, with Paint.NET, its almost the same functions, and for well Paint, not much you can do.
  10. I think that my avatar is pretty good, but it was done as a service in another gfx site using Cinema 4 Design, which I doubt you have. Not that you can't use it or you won't have it but its pretty expensive. I'll show you some of my favorite tags I made: (never got around to fixing that one) (that one was the simplest I ever made) I'm not really good at GFX, just started learning, from friends and family. I am improving, but now that I went out and deleted my brushes I need to find the best of the best and only use those. Keep in mind that if you really want inspiration look around on GFX Forums like SigResource.com they have some good artists, there, best of the best. I just look around, and I try to mimic styles, learn from tutorials and stuff like that.
  11. I haven't reviewed this section for in my review of the Live Suite, do you mind if I quote you and add it into there, I just need a out of 10 rating, for the review if you want me to add it. I've only used it for a bit, but it seemed pretty good. I like the options you get and its a lot simpler than the other IM Services. I love the interface so far, its sleek and the ability to change your name with a couple of simple to install mods, you have the version you love. Its good, but the only problems is that doesn't give all options in the program itself. It forces me to go to my account and edit things like name, and other information. I also don't like that it doesn't integrate with Live Mail very well, unlike Aim, which messages you with a new email, and gives a nice feed.
  12. From what I've heard and seen, it looks like Cinema 4 Design R10 was the best, now that R11 is out, people are scrambling to get it. Its pretty easy to learn and there are a lot of tutorials for that program. Its really on the high-end side, to compare that program in 3D modeling, its like Photoshop and Illustrator combined with more features. The learning curve is sweet, and you can export everything out of there, along with animating, the rendering speed is improved a lot in R11. If you like modeling to take to a professional level, I would say Maya, if you have experience with CAD Software. Its for people who are into real modeling.
  13. I don't mind them going head to head, it provides some competition for both ends. Open Source does not technically mean non-profit. They can make money from ads, especially from heavy trafficked sites, like Mozilla, and other ones. Extensions provide more forms of profit for Open Source. I don't care that Microsoft has patents and Linux doesn't. Microsoft has a right to use their program and OS as they wish. They do not have to give us the code, unlike Open Source, Microsoft has something more well material, but practical, to make a profit. They wish to survive and this is their career choice, and they make money. Open Source may be good, but then again, some patented products make up an appeal, because we feel that payment is the only way to get something that is worth more, and is deserving more credit for its worth. Take Microsoft's OS, they survive, and aren't defeated by Linux because that we as the consumer feel that when we pay for Vista, we are getting our money's worth. While Linux on the other hand, isn't being paid by us, but even if its free, we can't complain, and we can't even ask for more.
  14. I set up a restore folder when I did registry tweaks, but other than that I wouldn't really mess around with it too much. The only tweaks I ever did is with CCleaner, and I haven't had too many problems with that. Actually none so far. I always though explorer.exe was the file browser you had, when you open My Computer. Now I know that I shouldn't mess around with that. What exactly were you doing though? Thanks for the tip Trampsoch. Sometimes you never learn until something forces you to learn
  15. Basically for a video game store to do well, it needs to appeal to the whole crowd. Market Research is a load of crap sometimes. The people who often play PC Games, are comfortable with buying stuff online. They usually can find a better deal from downloading and buying a license, or a code. To get a good following the area really needs to be population dense, like take NYC for example, the Manhattan area is prime for gaming stores, for people to browse by and take a look. Its rather hard to get those games in stock, especially if its sold online. To buy en masse, is a problem also. There is a good benefit, and that is a good profit. Games are often pure profit if bought from a wholesaler. It costs very little to package and create, but then if you need a game that is very unique and unknown like PC Games not available direct or from a wholesaler, its rather hard to make a profit. Then you also have competition, from the big names, and then again, people aren't likely to trust someone who isn't a chain retailer for such a professional inventory. If you don't turn a profit, you're going to be losing money in the beginning, hard to break even.
  16. I don't really understand the concept of a timeshare very well. I heard about scams like these, all over some do work though, and other ones just give you something else instead of a car, more of a free ticket or something else. The car is usually just a gimmick. The phone numbers though are distributed to telemarketers. That's how you get those annoying calls, and how they can get your number. Its not through the phone-book. Email is worse though, they find out your email and marketing spam will destroy your inbox. That is pretty funny though, you often just enter those for fun, I always believed it never worked, goes to show that you won. Anyway do you think that they call randomly the people who entered, to get them to join the timeshare?
  17. I don't think anything happens, to the files on the hard drive. The only thing I can think of is the RAM, but I don't really know much about hardware. There is a command, I know that much, it might be on the Task Manager, but I know I saw my uncle do something like that on my computer, when he was checking why the date automatically was reset every start-up. Ask one of your classmates, and it might be a trick question. The boot files may change every start-up to do system tasks, and any command doesn't tell what is modified, that happened before the shutdown.
  18. How old is your computer? Is this a new problem? Sometimes you just need to refresh the page, and try using a different port, I blew out my USB Jack somehow and it doesn't work on my computer. Sometimes it happens if you have an old computer, without USB 2.0 and it doesn't work. Give us some more information. Try using it another computer. I just left it in the computer, then shut it down, and see if it reacted when I turn it back on. Normally it doesn't accept Flash Drives and refuses to continue, until I remove it accept that its there. Try it that way and then you'll find out whether the computer or the drive is at fault.
  19. The only way to change the basic system icons, as in the favorites, folders, and those things that come with XP, is by installing a theme. You can also install each one by one, which is a big chore. The other option is to really install a theme that changes the layout XP to look like Vista, some of them work, but not all of them, look them up and see which one you like the best. You can't change them all with one click, unless you change the system32 folder, and delete them and replace with Vista icons with the same name, but that requires significant knowledge and if it doesn't work then you have a problem. Just replace one by one or install a theme, don't mess around with that though.
  20. You can run a forum just fine. Even on free hosting I was able to set up a forum like SMF, EsoTalk, PHPBB3. I didn't test the really good ones, like VB and IPB, those are rather expensive but I believe that any basic VPS host will be able to host the a forum. The only problem I would see is getting the database too full, especially if you have a high traffic forum, then you need to prune or delete posts, and threads once a week or so, so it doesn't get too hectic. I wouldn't for see problems, just maybe the traffic, and thats only if you get a really good forum. Forums are simple, it'll run, if it doesn't you have such nice support, here.
  21. That is true, Hotmail gives me a lot of spam. I quit since I got so much spam I couldn't get any of email through. It is slightly good, just because of the folders. I can't get folders on Gmail, so for an avid Google User, Microsoft takes some of the faults from Google, and incorporates it into their Live Suite. They just changed the name of the suite and made into their own. There are few indepth differences, but only the theme has changed now. It seems to me that it isn't useful for someone who enjoys simplicity and bare-bones. I find that a makeover, appeals to some, but that I'd rather have the substance beneath. On another note, I need someone to review Live Messenger, I don't really have much friends on MSN, so it wouldn't be practical for me to use.
  22. I usually use CCleaner, and then do a quick Registry Fix, I find that having a single program to use for both, is rather useful, and was my first download on my laptop. Easy clean, fix, and uninstaller. I don't really take to much into mind with a program uninstall. I know Revo is good according CNET. Its all good now, though I don't want to use such a high end unnecessary program. Sometimes there is a limit to safety with freeware.
  23. I would contact the Collections Agency instead of the Agent. Often it could be a telemarketer, and the Remote Calls aren't always real. You should always verify first, and if there is a code/number or a link use that and talk to the original owners, or the company itself, then talk to the agent via the Collections Company, through their number or site. Its usually better also to talk to a bank, about why you have gotten that problem, if you think there is a problem.
  24. I don't mind Safari, but its not that great anyway. I don't really enjoy using it when have XP on, since it seems so block-like and stand still. I have windows under Chrome and FF open, since Chrome is what I use to check up on my site, since it loads slow sometimes in FF, and Chrome doesn't have that problem
  25. Go through your c: drive, comb through the program file folders, like firefox's folder, and there are couple of others programs that may have been installed, on mine it wasn't a trojan but an adware program. It usually is also in add and remove section of your Control Panel. The delete function is right click and click delete, or just hit the delete button on the keyboard. Uh actually if you don't really know, just leave it alone, and call either the computer company, well since AVG is free, not really an option. I would though just look for a program that searches for Adware and removes it. Sometimes its hard though to find it, best thing is to just uninstall firefox, it did the trick for me.
