Greetings My Fellow Forum-men, Greetings my fellow forum-men,
harrison858 replied to knoppixusr's topic in Introductions
Nice, thanks for telling us about you :PWelcome to Xisto. I feel that Xisto is better than 000webhost, the reason why I came here was because of the max ftp load quota, and the downtime of their script auto-installers. Rest assured, Xisto is waaay better in so many ways. You get decent hosting, and the possibility of getting your own domain in forum participation -
Hmm..If I were the owner of this "wooden vehicle," I would not be driving it on busy streets or the highway.Safety - Its made of wood.Wood + Speed = Unsafe.Just think of the collision.. Metal vs. Wood. Who wins?I doubt there are airbags in this wooden vehicle. And how about a concussion when your head hits the wood infront of you?I wonder how they get this thing to run without burning up. Does it run on fuel? If not then its safe when it comes to the engine part. It'd be ashame if this caught on fire, or if it were lit by purpose. In today's economy, what can the money spent on this be used for?Charities, homeless people in shelters, starving children of lesser developed countries.$40,000 USD to a waste.

Well.. What everyone's been saying is that humans are just accellerating the process, that the Amazon helps us reconvert greenhouse gases back to clean oxygen. There are many other factors, such as the natural release of these gases caused by volcanoes. There is also the possibility of the change of the Earth's magnetic field, where on a compass you can notice this change. The North and South poles are reversed. North becomes South, South becomes North. If you held a compass in the same place for a million years, you can see that its always changing.Back to the topic: Reversal of the pulls of the magnetic field causes the Earth to have a weaker magnetic field. The magnetic field helps block the Sun's harmful Ultraviolet (UV) rays, which could heat up the planet significantly. What we're seeing now is a slow change in the magnetic field's pull. The magnetic field is getting weaker near the poles, causing a small area of the magnetic field of the Earth to become very weak (Near the North and South poles). This weakness is slowly letting more and more harmful UV rays seep into the Earth, causing the polar ice caps to melt slowly.Remember, the magnetic field change is only a small factor, but it still affects the Earth's climates. The Earth moves heat from the equator to the polar ice caps, and the Ice cap's cold air is moved near the equator, generally.Humans contribute to harmful gas emmisions from new technology, such as cars, factories, etc.Magnetic Field's strength getting weaker. These are the only two I know of, or have heard of.

Nintendo 64 Or Playstation 1...what Was It The Best?
harrison858 replied to fermin25's topic in Computer Gaming
I'd have to say that Nintendo wins this one - Nintendo offered the possibility of up to 4 players, while the PS1 offered only up to 2. - Nintendo had better graphics - For me, the N64 was easier to setup. The PS1 had to be connected to my cable with a box, and it made the regular cable TV with blurry shows. - PS1 disks scratched easily for me. - Unique N64 controller.Both:- Customized controllers- Customized consoles- GamesBut thats just my opinion :angel:And I agree that between the PS2 and Xbox it would be easier to answer. -
hmm.... Well first what is your website about? Also, the webpage could be a little more complex. Make sure the color scheme matches what your site is about.

Same here. PHPBB to me is the best free forum software. Its overall appearence is not bad, format is not bad. I tried SMF also. SMF is not a bad forum software except for that its admin CP to me looks a bit unorganized, and the navigation at the top can get a little bit messy as you add the pages. SMF allows the insert of HTML while phpBB allows little HTML. In SMF it is easy to install modifications and themes, however sometimes it can give you errors. For paid software, IPB and vBulletin. They are both good to use, each has their own advantages, however I use vBulletin It all depends on what you use your forum for, however. I agree that you have to see what the features are, browse the modifications and themes and see if it meets your needs. Take a look at the support community and see how fast they can give you a reply.

Is It Possible To Pay With Negative Balance?
harrison858 replied to The Simpleton's topic in Web Hosting Support
Well, I've never paid with a negative balance before, but I'm sure after a certain number of days that you do not complete paying the invoice, the order is cancelled and you get your myCENTS back. But that's only happened to me with hosting. I dont know about domains, though. -
How Often Do You Upgrade Your Computer?
harrison858 replied to The Simpleton's topic in General Discussion
Same here. I think I've only upgraded my PC once, and that was the old HP desktop with the windows 98 OS. I later donated it to someone that couldn't afford a computer But other than that, I really didnt have to upgrade anything. I have about 3 computers that I use now, 2 desktops and 1 laptop. My family uses the desktops now so I'm stuck with my brand new laptop, poor me  -
Thanks so much for posting this I have another encryption program however it is a fairly moderate sized program, however it runs slowly and is outdated. I belive Truecrypt is much lighter and faster

Well we'll just have to wait and see, wont we? I doubt many people will switch to Google OS, considering the economy AND the amount of programs that would have to have a new program version for the Google OS. In time, though, there will of course be converted programs, but only if the Google OS can survive that long. Don't forget that maybe Microsoft's business could be taken away from this, but the Google OS would also have to compete with the Mac OS and Linux as well, and vice-versa. It really depends on how attractive it will be to people, and the features that come with it.

Well I guess theres nothing interesting about the moon for now. But if people decided to build on the moon i dont know how it would affect it, or how the Earth would be affected if people decided to build on another planet. Would Earth be abandoned? Probably not. Would pollution rise? It probably will if we continue to pollute the Earth.

Maybe you should ask him what is on his mind, and why he's spent less time with you. You should be able to tell if he's lying or not, because they get defensive most of the time. Ask him from within. If he IS cheating on you, the best way is to just forget about him and move on. If you feel that sometimes he is with you 100%, but at other times he is the oppisote, then chances are this relationship would not last long unless he has a good reason for it. Do you two argue a lot or everything seems fine? Answer:

Ok... there are ideas out there of a possible moon colonization. But, how long until it happens? Is this... possible? Quite possible. Anything is possible, but are we smart enough to do this? In any case, we would need resources on the moon. Food, water, shelter. Entertainment, comedy, laughter. Moon colonization should not be for scientists only, which it probably will be at first. If it were only for scientists then i'd bet the population would not be as big as its potential. To get to the point: Transportation: Space shuttles have been retired already, and I doubt that people would want to travel in a rocket. We will need better transportation of space travel soon, at least better transportation for traveling to the moon comercially. Industrial Developments: What we've done on the Earth is a MISTAKE. Too much polution and energy waste while it drains away the Earth's energy. Who knows when we'd run out of oil? There should be no dirty industrial development on the moon, period. Commercial Developments: Please, not too much of restauraunts that also contribute to polution like it does here on Earth. Fast food chains should be welcome but controlled in their development. Resources: Transportation of resources would be expensive, obviously: Food - Should we grow our own food in big glass domes that magnify the energy of the sun to benefit the plants and animals? Water - I wonder if water could be reusable.. Shelter - Shelter shouldnt be a problem, as long as it is secure and air tight. Solar Energy - To avoid use of oil please use Solar Energy. Security: Everyone should pass security checkpoints when living on the moon, to avoid possibility of terrorism from within the moon colonies. Technology: - Satellite radio should cover the radio music for now. - It might be a good idea not to have EVERYTHING managed by computers, because computers often have bugs and errors and it might be too risky to let it manage lets say, air locks. More to be added later, but feel free to add anything you think a moon colony should have.

Yea basically what anwiii said. I dont know how old your son is or how he got the password in the first place, unless you told him but next time keep the passwords secure. You can try recovering your windows XP system unless you have files in there which you do not want to lose. You can also try asking someone that is not on Xisto like a tech support representative or some professional. Of course, they might refuse to help you and ask that you recover your system because of security purposes and identity theft because they would have reason to suspect that this is not your computer. Anyways, goodluck with your password recovery =D

Who Declares Swine Flu A "pandemic"
harrison858 replied to dangerdan's topic in Science and Technology
hehe... wow I was going to make a post regarding WHO's declararion of pandemic but you've posted this right before I was copying the link to the article. Anyways, yea, hopefully it wont mutate as you've mentioned. If it did it would be even more difficult to stop. -

Hmm... Well I guess this has something to do with spamming and random posts. Because a lot of people use the myCENTS system, (I'm one of them), It may be difficult to monitor the music section for spam. Music is a very broad topic but maybe if they made music as a category with sub forums then maybe they could expand the music section of the forums.

Ps Console Buying Advice please help me out
harrison858 replied to The Simpleton's topic in Computer Gaming
If I were you, I would wait for the PS3. Maybe by the time you have enough money for one they would probably release a new Playstation console. Lets say they release a 'PS4.' I do not advise you to buy a PS2. PS2 has been out there, and so has PS3. A new console is bound to be released soon. My advice: Wait 'till you have enough money for a PS3. It would be worth the wait. Sure, it is tempting for not having a console but would you rather have an older console and waste your money on it, or would you rather have another console with better graphics that's worth the time and money? You should listen to your friends, they are right. Also, try to see what you can do to raise more money. Maybe go and mowe someone's lawn or rake leaves in autumn or even sell some of your things to your friends or neighbor, I dont know. Dont just sit around and wait for your allowance. I hope that helped. Regards, ~harrison858 -
Rarely Used Words. what do you think about them?
harrison858 replied to guhati's topic in General Discussion
In my opinion, I think that you couldn't tell which words are extinct, you can just tell which words are rarely used. If you know a word that has become extinct, then chances are, the word is not extinct.Just like someone said, a word cannot become extinct until all records and memories of it have been lost. So chances are that there are plenty of extinct words out there that we wouldn't know about. -
Well, the first post says it died within 10 minutes... so I doubt it Poor thing. I wish there was a way to save it.
