  1. I'm not seeing that. In fact, it looks more wrong at 800 x 600 than it does at 1024 x 780.
  2. Yeah, I think it's a limitation of a Windows Apache package.
  3. I'd like to be able to read that report but the English is terrible and it's too hard to figure out what's actually being said.
  4. Is this line commented: LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so
  5. With your poor knowledge of geography and obvious disregard for any other nation other than your own, you must be American. Another reason why you must be American: you don't understand what certain words mean. In this case, 'proof' because you've offered nothing of the kind. As for how I came first came across Firefox and why I use it, keep guessing. Not very good at history either. IE was nowhere near being the first browser and wasn't even the most dominant browser until the late '90s.
  6. If you've just written a lengthy explanation as to how something should be be done and the other person asks for clarification by saying: "So I should do....such and such?" and they've clearly understood the concept because their question is right, the obvious answer is 'yes' without the need to repeat everything you've already said.
  7. Didn't do your research very well. There's more than one site out there about him.
  8. No, it's like the 'customer is always right' saying; if a site turns a user away for some reason, that reason is invariably the design's fault, not the user. Of course, how much the designer does to alleviate those problems is entirely up to them. My criticism of this site would be that the frame with the changing content is down too low. People running 800 x 600 wouldn't notice that the content has changed (but then it's obvious this site has been designed with people using 1024 x 780 and up only in mind).
  9. I've had trouble with .htaccess on my local machine too. I think even though you're running an Apache installation that it doesn't work right with Windows. Or there could be some setting in the config file which is turned off by default which you need to find and turn on.
  10. Seems to me that you don't need to list all those websites in the left-hand navigation. Just have the link to a page which then has a list of those links.
  11. Let's not put the cart before the horse. First you have to build your website and then make sure it has content on it worth reading and coming back to.
  12. Interesting comments from the last three posters in this thread, all citing 'easy' as a major factor in determining whether you'd do something or not. Who ever said making a living was s'posed to be easy? If you want to get anywhere in life, you've gotta work for it.
  13. The Americans couldn't finish the war in Iraq properly. They'd be mad to think they could take on Iran as well.
  14. You know anything about SEO? Looks like they could do with some work in that department.
  15. Best of luck with the interview. Probably best not to refer to yourself in the 3rd person in the interview though.
  16. It's not just you. In Firefox, the link includes the querystring to the topic you're on. In IE, it doesn't.
  17. Not necessarily. People might have time at the time they start, but situations and circumstances change and they might find it increasingly hard to post for one reason or another. Laziness shouldn't always be the first assumption.
  18. I've just been looking at CMS Made Simple in more depth today and it's looking pretty good. Needed to swap TinyMCE for FCKeditorX though because FCKeditorX takes ages to load up properly.
  19. I haven't tried it out personally yet but from what I understand, you can circumvent the way it links to CSS files and instead link to one external stylesheet.
  20. That's because everyone at that time was British - even the Irish (the Republic of Ireland didn't become independent from Britain until the 20th century). It's not a case of the cops being British and everyone else being Australian. Australia was so new as a country at that time that you can't draw a distinction between British cops and the people they were policing.
  21. What's this British police stuff? The cops were as much Australians as Ned Kelly was.
