  1. Yeah steer clear of drugs while you're a teenager as they have a much greater negative effect on the developing brain than they do when you're an adult.
  2. That's not a very accurate account. Jewish people began arriving back in Palestine from Europe in the last 1800s. By the end of WWII there were 600,000 Jews in the area. All the time tensions between the Jews and Arabs were escalating which resulted in increasing violence. It was this violence that prompted the UN to partition the country in 1947.
  3. Without even reading your post (just the thread title), American Psycho was what I was going to say, closely followed by Glamorama, also be Bret Easton Ellis.
  4. It sounds like it would be an expensive venture to set up, not only from the programming side, but also due to the fact that for your service to be of any worth, you'd have to have a huge range of songs in your database. And for you to have them in your database, you'd have to have purchased them otherwise you'd be committing music piracy (you may also have to gain permission from record companies to use their music in this way). So you'd be looking at purchasing thousands, maybe millions of songs.I s'pose you could set up a deal to use somebody else's database of songs, but you'd need to have a good business plan in hand when you went looking for partners so that it makes it seem worthwhile for the other party to get involved.
  5. I like Pilsners - Staropramen, Pilsner Urquell, Budvar (the original Budweiser).
  6. It amazes me the number of threads that get posted on this site (doesn't seem to happen as much elsewhere) in which people ask for reviews of sites and then forget to post the link.
  7. A '95 Hyundai Excel (yeah, I know, real exciting). And I'd like to own a Saab 93 Aero or maybe an Audi A6.
  8. Anybody who charges only $40 for a 5-page website is anything but a pro. Web design firms in my town will charge anything from $1000-2000 (AUD) for a site of that size.
  9. I don't know where you've got that from. They've fixed quite a few bugs in IE7. It still falls a long way short of just about every other browser, but it's definitely better than IE6.
  10. If you can't get it here, maybe you can look at one of these: http://rubyonrails.org/
  11. Security bugs maybe, but as for its CSS rendering bugs, they're due to just poor coding.
  12. A bit more punctuation would be nice too though. Apart from IM which I rarely use and with which I type short and loose to make sure I get everything out before the other person says something, I type the same whether I'm on a forum, writing emails, reports or whatever. It's because I started my career as a journalist/subeditor and old habits die hard.
  13. Tell your friend that there are various methods of replacing buttons with graphics (that can look like text) if he's that worried about it.
  14. For the amount of changes you're requesting, I reckon cash would be the only sensible compensation. And when you talk about 'copying' pages, do you have permission to do that? Is somebody gonna get sued for helping you out cos you didn't really understand the full legalities?
  15. Take the challenge? Are you expecting someone to do the whole thing for you? If you really want to get this done, you want to start investigating the various free PHP shopping carts available. Once you've picked one and made a start, then people might be willing to help out with problems, but if you're after someone to do the whole thing for you, better get your chequebook out.
  16. I've never used one or coded one so I'm only guessing but my thoughts would be that if you're only learning you'd be better off building your site structure with PHP and using PHP includes to put it together as a first step.
  17. Not a bad effort for two days' worth of learning but you've got some positional problems occurring between different pages.
  18. CMSMS is quite similar to another I've been trying recently, Expression Engine. As far as making your own templates go, just create your design for a static web page first before moving on to making a template. Then copy all your HTML into a CMSMS template and replace anything that is going to change from page to page with CMSMS tags and use the menumanager module for creating your menus.
