  1. Before trying my advice, know that you should always back-up your registry in case you need to perform a restore. By follow this instruction you are not placing any responsibility on Xisto or myself in any way if it harms your system. If you are not familiar with editing registry please consult a technician. Open your registry by Start > Run > regedit Search or go to My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\{****you have to find your interface. If you had multiple ISP before you must see which {*****} is your current Tcpip service. One way to find it is read the DhcpDomain value. It should state your ISP name. Look for MTU on the Name column.-->If you don't see it, do Edit > New > DWORD Value and name it MTU. Right click and select Modify > Base (select Decimal) and enter the value 1492. 1500 is the maximum but for DSL (or ADSL) due to short 8bit calculation its max is 1492. -->If you see the MTU name make sure its value is 1492. See above on how to edit the value. Click File > Exit Restart your computer And test out your email sending again. Send a short text message and html message. The reason: I read it somewhere that DSL's email sending protocol is bit different when it comes to sending a HTML email. I bet you if you just sent out TEXT message (setting in how emails are sent) it will go through just fine. But because Outlook's default email is set as HTML email, DSL (or ADSL) has difficulty in sending the full value. And that's why it looks for MTU value from the local computer and not the server computer. Sadly, Windows is too smart for setting every little detail when it comes to TCPIP settings (because it's redundant when a ISP and router will set the MTU value anyway) that it does not set the cap limit. Hopefully this will solve your issue. Believe me, you won't get this kind of information from your DSL support representative or technician. They have no idea why it's not working since they are not aware of this solution. Well, before I act all high and mighty please try this step and tell us if it has worked.
  2. How about inserting a redirect script in 403 error page? You can insert a 10 second delay (less than 10 or zero delay) in your customized 403 error page that will redirect the traffic to your set URL.Tools involved:editing your own 403 HTML fileediting your .htaccess file Notice from BuffaloHELP: Nope never mind. I just realized the error in my logic. And it's not what you requested.
  3. Just on a curiosity, what is your internet connection type? The reason I ask is that I had to configure my Outlook to my DSL and I couldn't send any mail. That was until I edited my MTU value in my registry. Some Windows XP (all versions) are missing that value and it needs to be manually entered.
  4. We have dedicated joke section. Do not post in the wrong section again. If you think it's going to offend some members, why post at all?
  5. You think it was a good poem because it is a good poem. A plagiarized poem. Please do not spam our forum. This is your last and only caution note.

  7. malish,Your initial problem was that you received a wrong advice from another person before and you changed your A Name. After the reset, you should have changed it back to default and changed ONLY your nameserver. That was my instruction and that's why I gave up my 40 credits to you. Both your links are working just fine. Remember that you should NEVER change anything but your nameserver, not even your A NAME record. Topic will be closed in few days if without any replies.
  8. At least I'm referring to FORWARD URL It seems to be not working for some people, so here is the link. Copy and paste and open it up in a new browser. http://forums.xisto.com/uploads/1129778780/gallery_6042_36_14679.jpg I have this option under my DNS control panel. As you can see it allows me to use my TLD as redirecting service. This will automatically go to your designated URL when a visitor types one of your other domain names.
  9. I have a domain name that gives me the total control over my DNS. I can either change the nameserver or use my domain name to redirect to another URL. I think any good TLD should give you the same control. In that case, you can set your TLD to point to your Xisto subdomain without parking anything. You can even point to a folder or a specific file of any URL.
  10. I do not see your point since you went all that trouble for nothing, in my opinion. Once you successfully change your nameserver AND properly propagated through out the internet, your site will be functioning perfectly. You DO NOT need to add forwarding URL address or set certain external address to access your cPanel. Simply you can access your cPanel via yourSite.com/cPanel So get rid of your URL forwarding and redirecting. The only thing you should've changed is your nameserver information. Checking your nameserver, you changed it yesterday (Dec 4, 2005). It takes about 24~72 hours for webservers to propagate your changed information. Once that is complete, your URL and hosting will work perfectly. Have patience and wait until it does.
  11. Currently our editing feature has been disabled. Please refer to this topic http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ OpaQue is, however, considering this issue and we may have the answer after the forum's upgrade.
  12. OpaQue has been notified. Hang tight until he gets the message
  13. What happened to my response on sending support ticket to support@Xisto.com? If you were having some issues, please send it again. Your hosting was most likely didn't migrate to the new server, seeing that your IP still points to the old server. Send with the following information, again please. I'll even make the message for you. your site url: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ your site IP when pinged: 69.50.188.18 cpanel user name: malish Issue: My site is still pointing to the old server of Xisto, judging by the IP address. I am guessing that my host did not shift with Xisto's recent server migration. And thus, I cannot access my cpanel. Please correct my hosting service and let me know when you do. Truly yours, <insert your name here>

  15. I don't know about that. Even with current restrictions, our servers are attacked or compromised by outsiders or our own users. Allowing them to actually access a mock site within the server even for a demo page is, in my opinion, dangerous.I will get additional screenshots up as much as and soon as possible when my free time allows.
  16. I decided to go with Samsung SP-I500 last year. I wish I had waited however. SP-I500 is powered by Palm OS and although it is convenient, it is bit archaic. Sp-I600 is powered by Windows CE 2003 and offers PocketPC equivalent power when it comes to launching software. But it does not provide with touch pad. Both sizes are no bigger than the old model StarTAC, which I loved it for very long time. And compare to Treo it's certainly smaller than that. And it does not cry out, "I'm a geek with cool toys." :)The question I ask these days is that did I really had to pay $400 for the phone? I realized that the initial idea was very good that I can take PDA software and phone with me in one device. But as I move through life, I noticed that I'm only using less than fraction of what my phone is offering. The only Palm software I get to use is to do my expense reports (Pocket Quicken) and synchronize with my desktop when I get home. That's awfully a lot for a one additional function to be added to my phone, isn't it? Sure I can browse the web and instant message or even control few functions on my desktop remotely. But I lived just fine before I500 came along. It seems as though I became in habit of using it just because it was there. So, now I'm a firm believer in purchasing a device specifically designed for a specific task. When I need to make a phone call, I need a phone. When I need to jot down a note I need a PDA. I do not need phone/PDA to do one of those tasks. There is a perspective of carrying two devices verses a single device because I'll never know when I would need them both. But am I bought into that mentality because I truly feel that way, or because the television commercial and the world is telling me carrying around a device that is sized of a notepad is certainly cooler than carrying two smaller devices...?The jury is still out on that one.

  22. michaelper22 :)The ad-less refers to the hosting service. See forum is not the place for ad-free since having this forum "funds" the web hosting. Once you signup for our free web hosting, your site will not contain any advertisements. Some free hosting sites will "force ads" on to your site so that the visiting traffic you generate also funds the owner of a service. But Xisto's hosting will NEVER force ads to your web page. So you were mistaken for two different things: forum and hosting account. If you still have questions please feel free to post them here.
  23. I made updates to my demo page. Sorry for any confusion.
  24. Which demo version of cPanel are you referring to? The only demo that I know is http://forums.xisto.com/topic/26954-cpanel-demo-page-for-new-applicants-and-guests/ for Xisto.com's site. If you can post the link to the demo page you saw, it would help explaining this event. Otherwise the demo and your cPanel should be the same. I will work on my demo page to be coinciding with our newer server.
  25. It is a way of inserting ads in our forum. It's inserted after the first topic start (between post #1 and post #2). And after every 4th post the ad is again inserted to maximize the exposure without overshadowing our forum structure. There's no need to worry about ad appearing around your post.
