Changing Domain Problem,help Required.
BuffaloHelp replied to itssami's topic in Web Hosting Support
I'm looking at your DNS records (by DNSreport.com) and I'm seeing this Make sure that only ns1.trap17.com and ns2.trap17.com are present in the Nameserver change and nothing else. You can leave all others as is (for example, CNAME and A records still pointing to Yahoo. Nameserver option will over ride all of those automatically). You can access your cPanel in the mean time by using this URL http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and see your site by typing gamma.xisto.com/~cPanelName Notice from KuBi: And with this post..thread closed. -
It would be hard to guarantee that this site will not be closed. But based on what I have seen in past 1 year or so, Xisto, Xisto and Xisto Corp has lasted longer than any other similar sites. And it will continue to thrive as long as good members are keeping this place active and alive. So it is up to all of us to keep this service going.Xisto, by the way, was told that it's a by product of Xisto's other programs such as Xisto - Web Hosting.com. Xisto - Web Hosting itself generates enough revenue to fuel Xisto. I personally will make my best effort to keep Xisto's service going. Long live Xisto

HAHAHAHAHAI'm not laughing at your post but I have a friend who does what you do and she swears it helps her. I suppose you could've posted why you crave/eat those grain bars and how does that help you. Elaborate your post. Remember one liners are considered as spam.Moving to Real Life Experiences. -
Using Windows XP original installation would not give you that option since Microsoft want nothing to go wrong during an installation performed by an average user. Therefore, everything and anything gets installed to prevent from Windows itself crashing. Once fully installed, you can adjust by uninstalling Windows component and adjusting registry manually to remove some components from loading in the first place. Then, you have to manually seek out and delete those programs to harvest the disc space... But, if you are sure you want the bare minimum Windows OS check this site http://www.nliteos.com/nlite.html and use their tools. I personally don't mind Windows loading all other non-essential components loading at the start-up. And I turn manually off of those services, such as messaging service (one way that hackers and spammers use to spam your computer across LAN and WAN) off, by accessing Administrative component services, Uninstalling Windows Components (after SP1 update) and editing my msconfig.

This is not the place or ways to explain your point of view. The board defines what is spam and your post was spam--lacking quality, short of contribution and one liner.Do not post this kind of message again. If you have a problem PM moderator or administrator. PS because our forum revolves around hosting credit system (whether you host from us or not) anything other than contributing to our forum is viewed as "cheating" hosting credits.

SPAM!Topic closed. If I find you making other posts with nothing to contribute or making any sense, I will find you as cheating hosting credit system and issue a warning.

World Of Warcraft the best mmorpg ever?
BuffaloHelp replied to viperthepox's topic in Computer Gaming
Do not make redundant topics. Search the forum before making a new one. Refer to this http://forums.xisto.com/topic/27711-world-of-warcraft-the-best-mmorpg-ever/page-2#entry195228 or this http://forums.xisto.com/topic/27711-world-of-warcraft-the-best-mmorpg-ever/page-2#entry211576 This topic is closed and this will be the last caution note. -
I believe there were/are so many other forums offering the same service as Xisto. But as far as I can tell, I belonged to three others and all three were closed at the end of November 2005. One, in fact, copied exact titles and subject matters (right down to forum section descriptions) and managed to stay afloat for 2 months. I went back just now and turned it into "Under Construction" page. LOL.The only other service that can ever be matched, comes even close to what Xisto is offering is Xisto. It's because Xisto and Xisto are the exactly the same forum except the forum discussion topics are slightly different. If you need another hosting unmatched to Xisto, try Xisto.com. The same rule applies to Xisto as well as Xisto--only one hosting account per person per forum.

Web Browser Which Browser do you use?
BuffaloHelp replied to mystmag's topic in Security issues & Exploits
Stop making redundant topics. This is your final caution! Topic closed.gsmupdate: You need not to use caps all the time. -
Always, search the forum before making a new topic. Your topic already started here http://forums.xisto.com/topic/30828-longest-word-what-is-the-longest-word/ and the discussion should continue there. This topic is closed. Remember, What Is...? section is dedicated for terms and ideas that YOU didn't know and learned recently. It is not a place to be trivia section. Do not sign off with your name each time. That is what your signature section is used for.

Would you like to have SOTW banner section under Xisto Banners link? You can submit SOTW banners and it will be stored under Xisto's server and it will be displayed neatly under one page.

It's hard to tell/say what could be the problem or even discuss possible solution. But let's go down the list and see where it might go wrong: Given that computer A is the problem computer, computer B is the no problem computer... 1) how are they connected to internet, via router, hub or switched one at a time 2) how long is the cable running from computer A to router or broadband modem 3) have you tried swaping ethernet cables from each other 4) run a command called PING from computer A. Ping any website such as http://yahoo.com/ ping http://yahoo.com/ -t and see how long it runs (does it fail after 2 minutes or does it continue to ping?) 5) is the network card driver digitally signed by manufacturer or Microsoft for Windows XP? 6) any issues with Device manager and your network card? 7) have you made your TCP/IP as Obtain IP automatically or manually? these are just few of the questions you should be answering to see if we can rule out any possible "simple" error(s).

Chez,Welcome to Xisto. I know you will fit right in. Make sure your every post is neat and well formed. In my signature area you'll find Xisto README to shed some light on few key components.By the way, I minored in Bioinfomatics. What are the odds of finding another Bioinfo student in Xisto? I'd say it's 1 in 1 billion I don't know if you recall Cedar and Solaris working on human genome project. Well I was Med-Chem staff for the University that had joint project with them. 2 years after my graduation they finished sequencing and now they are making portals to other chem/pharm companies to share the result. It's sad, however, that inorder to pay back all those equipments purchased and borrowed the information and sequence gathered are shared only if one pays for yearly or monthly access grant. You have to pay for HPLC and GC machines somewhere... and talk about jell-plates! I'm just glad that I no longer wear radiation tags lol. Sometimes I swear I can see my hands glowing in the dark.Anway, it was fun and Bioinfomatics is definitely a new science field that will be the next CS of early 1990's. I'd like to hear more about your research results and aspiration for your major.

What can I say? Sometimes the gratitude is best expressed in short words.

Please do not go off topic.I use Internet Explorer and I am having no trouble logging into my cPanel. Sometimes the server rejects your log in if your browser does not support the proper security encryption. Try updating your IE browser or Windows SP files.Or it could be as simple as for that split moment the cPanel itslef was not functioning properly. But update all your Windows update files and security settings (to make sure you have 128bit encryption) and try it again. This original topic has been answered and thread is closed. JasperIk, if you would like to start the topic regarding IE login session to cPanel, please make a new topic.Thank you.

Whoa! Love the background! The entire color scheme is excellent. I like your choice of the font and the render is just amazing! Finally, a cool render (not that past renders have been uncool)--I am Samurai watch me chop spams out of Xisto :DI like the tracking lines effect that seems like the underlining the font and going behind the render. Very nicely done, KuBi.Thank you.

Welcome glassCAt,You will find our forum to be very relexed, a real discussion community unlike some forums out there. In my signature you will find Xisto REAME to help new comers to navigate well through out Xisto. Please keep in mind that we have Xisto.com and Xisto.net services.I know you will fit right in. Cali huh? I spent two weeks driving from Napa to SD, stopping by places like Yosemite, Big Shur, Pebble Beach etc. I then drove through the desert and ended up in Vegas. California certainly is a unique state. Maybe it's a New Yorker living a crazy life but I find almost all Californians so relexed and easy-going. I think it's because the awesome weather.Anway, if there are any questions please feel free to use the shoutbox, PM moderators and make help topics.

The default index file contains ads until you replace that index file OR delete the default index file and place your own. Noticed that the ads are along the right vertical section and the codes can be removed and will not resurface. The default index page is also to shield a brand new site from ugly "still under construction"Xisto.com promises that you will never be forced to display any advertisement.

Question For Hosted Memebers
BuffaloHelp replied to affhotspot's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I would be skeptical if I heard only the good things about Xisto. It's either the service is THAT good or only members who are satisfied with Xisto are replying to this thread.Perhaps... I would be a liar if I said that I am 100% satisfied with Xisto's service, especially when we migrated our hosting server to a dedicated server. There were few ups and downs but the important issue is that it was resolved within acceptable time frame. But chew on this: any paying hosting service will have issues when a server migrates. And I have yet to find affordable hosting plan that offered dedicated server to hosting members. Yet, Xisto is free and IS offering dedicated server. So, to say that experiencing 2 days of down time in a month is VERY acceptable. It's very acceptable since that was the maximum days that it went down during the server migration. Since my hosting day with Xisto, other than my own personal mistake, my hosting never went down more than once a month and no longer than 3 hours at a time. I would say that I am very satisfied with my FREE service. I just can't go wrong with Xisto.
