Really?! Everyone raves about these games Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 but I really don't like them much, I played them I bought them but I seriously did not think it lived up to all the praise it gets. My personal opinion is that if you take away all the cameos of popular show and games your left with an game that is dorwning in it mediocrity. While KH 1 was actually good I will admit that but if you look at KH:Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts 2 in particular they story is sub par. I mean it has a really really bad story flow goin there... The cameos really didn't have much to do with the Organization XIII plot but rather than water it down and pull for time. I mean half the worlds are carp while some may be awsome I don't think they are enough to completly ignore all the bad areas... In short the cameos don't cut it for me even though they were the mainr eason I bought the games...

I think Rockstar does a great job on its games... Not just gameplay but the social commentary in this game is amazing...

Well if you don't mind DnD based games (the dice throwing thing) and all their complexity at times then I would recomend some of the Bioware games particularly:Neverwinter Nights (PC) - Neverwinter Nights has a lot to offer virtually everyone, even if they aren't already into RPGs. Though that is if they can get past the dice system and its DnD roots. The dice are rolled all in the background so its not noticable but a lot of people will reject this perfectly awesome game before even trying it... If you want more check out the expansion packs & premium modules.Neverwinter Nights 2 (PC) - The recently released sequel to NWN shares all that DND had including a slightly more engaging story if you can overlook the technical issues and the lack of romance plots besides the main (male) one when you have so many companions (though for some that might be a good thing).Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (PC & Xbox) - A dang fine Star Wars RPG taking place in the era of the Old Republic. Kicks the karp outta the new SW Trilogy movies released at about the same time. Doesn't really tie much into it but story wise it is superior! Discreet DND implimentation)Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 (PC & Xbox) - Never got a chance to play it much but I hear its as good as the first if you are craving more. Give it a shot if you played the first one.

What?! no one here played Total Annialation?! Its the predicurser to the upcoming (and totally awsome looking) Supreme Commander! -
I wonder how this will play on the 360. CnC hasn't been on consoles forever...

Really? I was pretty good with lockpicks exept with the most dificult of locks or I just automated it then. How was your security skill? But yea there are seveal glitches like that for gold. I know ym brother found a corpse he could loot ininately for gold.
-
Its already around but as broadband connections improve I expect tos ee a lot mroe games with voice intigration in them. It does wonders on the 360 but beyond Xbox live it is near non-existant besides the more ahrdcore PC clans and like.

There is room and rumor for another $50-100 drop on the premium system. It will most likely happen within the year to further the price point advantage Microsoft has on the PS3.Up the ante per se once Sony gets its act together 'cause with the current PS3 shortage they ahve nor eason to drop the price right now. The faster Sony gets its act together the sooner you can expect a drop.
-
It is worth it especially with these new gamings coming out. If you do pick ip up you MUST get Gears of War 'cause thats the killel app and the top dog in the 360 box right now. It is definitely worth it if your playing it on a HD TV. You can milk more worth out of it if you have Xbox Live.

Excelent excelent. This is to RTSs as Oblivion is to RPGs.Graphically from what I have seen it is amazing. Sadly I have to turn the settings down for framerate thanks to my hardware being a bit dated but even then it still looks great. The AI has its moments and at tiems can seriously surprise you.I think this game caught the atmosphere of WW II like I have seen only Brothers in Arms do before it with the anrative, story, and gameplay blending near seamlessly together...

Best Character From An Rpg add your comments.
ariolander replied to Megaman's topic in Computer Gaming
Let me throw out a female/android character and nominate Kos-Mos from the Xenosaga series. As a character she really is quite interesting... -
I want to know how this will work in the long term. This is brought to us by the same people who grought us the failed beta tapes, the failing UMD, and this new Blu-Ray.But beyond the history from Sony what I am worried about is weather or not the cost outweighs the benefits. Can you really convince everyone to replace their whole DVD collection again be it BluRay or HD-DVD? Then with these overly obtrusive DRMs these products have all been effectivly tagged "Defective By Design"...A format war does noting to help cosnumers, the DRMs inconveniences consumers, and here you are trying to get them to replace their existing collections and/or pay 2-3x more than what they can get a standard DVD version for? Good luck there...

There are many good RPGs besides final Fantasy. FF seems tog et all the attention but to take a look at a few.Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth (PS1 & PSP) - Based on Norse mythology this is a groundbreaking PS game and now with a PSP port. Best RPG on the PSP to date even if it is a straight port.Valkrie Profile 2: Simeria (PS2) - Prequel to the PS1 game this too is based on Norse mytholigy and is a damn fine action touch, complex, and suprisingly action packed Japanese RPG.Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories (PS2) - Sequel to the underground hit Disgaea on PS2 this is another Strategy Role Playing Game by Nippon Ichi best suited for fans of other stuff like it, and it's chock-full of depth, lasting value, and surprisingly good humor. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (PC & Xbox 360) - Quite possibly the single greatest western RPG to date Oblivion takes the Elder Scrolls series to a whole new level with over 200 hours of gameplay. That should do for now the top 3 where you can't go wrong at all. Will go into other dang good series later maybe.

Oblivion - Best Single Player Rpg Elder Scrolls 4
ariolander replied to CbK Voldsom's topic in Computer Gaming
While I wouldn't say that it is the single best single player RPG ever as that is an enormous claim I would be willing to claim that it is the "Single Greatest WESTERN RPG To Date"Some of those Japanese games and the Japanese RPg is darastically diferent from western ones. This is undoubtably the best western RPG to date. -
I am studying these in my Logic class right now. We have 8 different types of fallacies and they all have their distinctive signs. Here is my chapter simplified: Ad Ignoratium Argument from Ignorance Premises - Nothing is known with certainty about x Conclusion - Makes a definite claim about x Ad Hominen, Abusive Premises - Attack the character of someone presenting an argument Conclusion - Rejects other argument's conclusion Ad Verecundiam Appeal to Inappropriate Authority Premises - Cite an authority in field A Conclusion - Makes a conclusion in field B Ad Hominen, Circumstantial Premises - Attack the motives of someone presenting an argument; claims bias or self intrest Conclusion - Rejects the conclusion of that person's argument Ad Populum Appeal to Emotion Premises - Mention some popular belief, prejudice; appeal to the desire to be included Conclusion - Unsupported by reason Ad Misericordian Appeal to Pitty Premises - Evoke pitty Conclusion - Recomends unwise remedy Ad Baculum Appeal to Force Premises - Suggests or states a threat Conclusion - Unsupported by reason Ignoratio Eleuchi Irrelevent Conclusion Premises - Support Conclusion A Conclusion B - Unsupported Conclusion A These are hte most common fallacies according to my book. Sure you can make a contradictory argument but that isn't a fallacy so much that it is false and is simply an invalid form.

shmacklepap that is not yet confirmed and I have yet to hear any data like that. Mind stating your sources? As for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 they are both very capable systems. Their graphics will be a 1up on your standard PC capabilities. Because consoles are all standardized in hardware you can push it to get the most out of it without worrying about the differences from one piece of hardware to the next. While indeed graphics provides good eye candy and the hardware is indeed very important I believe you are loosing track of the ball when you simply compare specs and appearances. When it all comes down to it is the content like gameplay and gaming experience and for me stuff like plot and character development as well. Rather than deciding now that the specs are out and choosing a side like a true gamer I will remain undecided and wait for the actual games. Its not the hardware that makes the gamer but the games themselves. That might be different for PC but in the console the games are the most important aspect of a system I for one choose not to be a fan of a system or a developer but a fan of the games. I own GameCube, PlayStation 2 Xbox, Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, & Nintendo Entertainment System and between them I have over 130 games. I choose them all because I love games and gaming that much : P While those are neat take a look at this Nintendo technology peek video. I donÂt know what the heck it is or whatÂs up with the revolution but this vid is neat: http://onefed.com/media/NintendoON.wmv

Personally I HATE steam. I love HL2 I can't get enough of Counter Strike: Source but all in all steam causes nothign but frustration. I hate how it starts up on startup. I hate how it failes to connect to server ar adds all the extra hastle into connection. It is to much extra baggage and very much of a pain. I also dislike the idea behind steam. I hate how I can not buy sell or trade any Valve games, I dislike how they won't let me move my CS 1 & HA 1 onto the same accoutn that has my HL2.... No. No sir I do not like ti at all... And I actually use that gif as my sig on another forum... Have a matchign avatar too!

I would ahve to go with the Golden Sun series aswell. Great graphics, good plot, neat characters and pretty good gamepaly aswell. There aren't many RPG RPGs I can think of on GBA that I played...Though if strategy RPGs count aswell then throw Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and Fire Emblem into the hat aswell.

Kingdom Hearts 2 And Halo 3 Including Ff12 who will prevail
ariolander replied to Megaman's topic in Computer Gaming
I will be getting Halo 3 but as you can see by my past psots in this section I am not enthusiastic about Square Enix and its sequels and Square Enix.I did not like Kingdom Hearts very much and if Final Fantasy 12 is anything like X, X-2 & XI I doubt I will like that either. -
It has changed a lot since the first beta. Beyond skills beign tweaked and graphics actually getting better the rumors were true that in the beta you really had acess to only 15-35% of the game deending which BWE you took part in.There are much more quests, explanded PvE, there is now acess to all 150+ skills (though you can still only take 8 with you). Probably the most notable changes was the streamlining of the HUD & chats. The HUD is probably the biggest and most notacible change if you played the BWE before #4. Everything is much more streamlined and if you don't like the layout unlike other games the HUD appears to be fully cusomizable though I find the default sufficent. You can turn of bars, add bars, add icons shortcuts, even resize and move major part of it. The HUD love it or hate it has had a complete facelift. In the comments that it is really good I would have to agree. There is none of the usual grind and there is none of the repetative hours training or mining. Many are tempted to call it a MMORPG (massivly multipalyer online role palying game) while though similar you must understand it is very much diffrent and actually the developers CORPG (cooprative online role playing game). Much of the game is instanced, a seperate mirror map is created for you and your party though much of the game with towns, outposts, & cooperative mission points acting as hubs where you can play with any player in the world.Probably the games greatest strength would be PvP. Your characters are extremly flexible as in any point in the game you can reset your stats int eh forms of refunds and in a mere minutes my Fire Elementalist w/ Revive is now a Healing Monk in disguise with the uber energy stores of an Elementalist. Switch from Area of Effect damage to healing by refunding my fire attributes and putting the points into healing. So there is a lot you cna do in PvP as no single class or skill is strong as everything has something that can be countered or some sort of weakness to be exploited. TThis goes in much the mentality of the 'no uber items' idea that many are having problems with...I myself am a fan of PvE though because I wanna see this storyline...

Final Fantasy Tactics the best race to have
ariolander replied to toilet95's topic in Computer Gaming
I would ahve to go with Viera simply because they can be deadly and diverse. As ana ssasin you have 1 hit KO moves along with the choice of bow or katana. From there your Red mages make excelent mages because of their double cast. Combined with a summoner class skills the Viera mages canb e devistating doigna rea of effect healing, revives and damage. On the otherhand the humans are equally as diverse and have the very pwoerful dobulewield. While indeed the humans are jsut as diverse the simple power of the doublecast and the fact theirr aged units are more powerfull forces me to vote Viera...That and did you know they are all chicks? ^.^
