You guys are fools. Criticizing a game you have yet to even play. I have played the game since the original World Preview Event to all the Beta Weekend Events and the game has changed dramatically. Trystim you are a fool go to their official website https://www.guildwars.com/en/ and read the FAQ. The expanded chapters are expected to be released at LEAST 12 months apart or once a year. Even then they are completly optional and you can paly without them. Evena fter they are released there wills till be new areas where you can team up with people who have the second chapter ect. I do not believe that you understand the streaming update system either. The game updates itself regularly with patches transfered as you play. There are cosntant updates and cosntand additions why I thinkt eh alst 3 updates awere only a day or two apart. Simply stated it is my opinion that Guild Wars is an amazing game both graphically and technically. And as a fact I can say it trully is unlike any other game before it. Its closest relatives would be WoW or Diablo 2 and even then they are not very simar. If I may quote a review: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

The Realease Of Ff12 if you wnat to talk about it just come on in
ariolander replied to Megaman's topic in Computer Gaming
Don't get your hopes up people. You are likly to be seeing screenshots of FF 13 before 12 gets released. Cross your fingers ally ou want it isn't coming out any time soon and you can count on that. -
Can someone add "None of the Above"? Its not that I hate Final Fantasy as a matter of fact I used to be a huge fan. In my opinion Final Fantasy XI was more of a chore than a game, was extremly boring, grinding and very much un-fun. Final Fantasy X was a pointless game lacking plot, content, character development, legitimate relationships and had questionable characters. Final Fantasy X-2 is worse than the game preceding it lacking all of what teh first game did to the ^10. These recent string of games aswell as the announced spin offs in my opiniosn re bastardizations of what was I can remember it so fondly as a great series...SquareEnix is doing to its Final Fantasy franchise to what 3DO did to its Army Men franchise. Not only did they stab it in the back but they insist on twisting it aswell.

I disagree there are many First Person Shooters with better graphics but as this is the RPG board I will make the bold statment and say that you are wrong. I would like to point out Guild Wars (my latesr obession) has trully amazing graphics and not only does it have graphics but an engaging plot, great PvP, strategy and excelent gameplay

I spent +56 hours playing Final Fantasy X and I actually thought it was a damn good game until the plot revelation that everything I had done in the last 50+ hours wall all for naught and this game was really pointless. I can manage to overlook the fact the main character was homosexual, the plot was mediocre, and the gameplay was good at best. As a matter of fact before the twisted revelation about reality, sin, and how everything you have done for the last 50+ hours was pointless, I thought it to be a dang decent game. Needless to say I was not happy. I chucked my game case and later my disk across the room and into the far wall and have yet to pick that game up again. The "Story Aspects" as one person had put it have done nothing but cause me more aggravation and irritation in BOTH the Final Fantasy X and its bastard sequel.One of the things I disliked was that I completely set up for a Rikku relationship in FF X. Hell I gave Lulu more love than that Yuna c*** but that damn she is persistent. Why did they even give me choices in the dialogue when in the end no matter what I answered it does not affect the story? No matter how badly one treated Yuna or how much affection one showed to the other female cast Titus, whom I now am assuming is homosexual, always ends up with Yuna. If I wanted linear story lines I would watch a movie. Linear storylines are so 1990s. Then again story lines weren't even invented till 1995, 96. 0.o;; Well anyways that is beside the point. Don't give me multiple choice situations if in the end they mean nothing... Much like the whole game perhaps...I have come to the conclusion to hell with it. Screw Titus, screw FF X & screw that blasphemous FF X-2 sequel it had. He can have that Yuna c*** and I will keep the original Rikku for myself I liked Rikku in FF X I really did but now I find myself hating SquareEnix for what they have done to her. The bashtards now dressed her up as a ***** and robed her of her intelligence making her a complete airhead. That unforgivable in my eyes and nothing short of a truly amazing FF XII (doubt it will happen) is enough for forgiveness. The least they could have done was given her a decent skirt, a bare minimum of clothes and half a brain. I mean you already took whatever she had of breasts why do you take her intelligence and clothes too? Thena fter all that they insist on forcing Yuna onto me...It is because pf Final Fantasy X that I can say I have lost all faith in that once king of RPGs known as SquareEnix. Now that I think of it all their RPG games since the merger of the two RPG behemoths have been mediocre or passable at best. Maybe it is their association with Disney or maybe it is their agreement with EA SquareEnix is simply does not do it for me anymore. With people like Nobuo Uematsu gone and Hironobu Sakaguchi up for a Xbox 2 game. SquareEnix's Final Fantasy series is now filled with ghey character designs and lacks any real content or plot, it is all really so disappointing...I will stop myself at that because I started ranting... Opened up old wounds this thread and I am a bit enthusiastic being a fanboy of old. Would rather not think of Final Fantasy X and I see almost started ranting abouth FF XII 0.o;;

Future King Of Rpg? What shoud have a RPG to be best?
ariolander replied to Giniu's topic in Computer Gaming
Well right now I am betting my money on 2 developers Namco & Nippon Ichi Software of America or simply NIS America.I have lost all faith in the giant SquareEnix and frankly do not think they have much ot offer anymore.NIS & Namco make totally diffrent games but they are somethign new and refreashing. Unlike many other developers they strive to give actual content beyond graphics providing teh plot heavy storylines and extended gameplay I crave. If any RPG maker can feed my hunger for a good story it would be these 2 I would pay for. -
Halo Vs. Halo 2 which one do you like better?
ariolander replied to iGuest's topic in Computer Gaming
I am a fan of Halo 2 simply because i like the changes int ehs ignle palyer. Though extremly frustirating I liked playing as the covenant and it was indeed a new experience. I myself am still struggling with legendary but overall I had no problems witht he single player as other people might have.I also like it because of its Xbox live support. I am online gaming fanatic so a good online play though it does nto match a LAN party is great.I am sorry but I will have to go with Halo 2H1 < H2 -

I must say my favorite of the 2D fighters is the Guilty Gear series. I don't think there is a 2d fighter out there that is better.For the 3d fighters I myself am a fan of the Dead or Alive series & the DoA girls . Games like Soul Calabre & Mortal Combat really are not my thing. The whole hand to hand combat thing si neat and it takes lots of skill and I mostly loose >_<;;

Samurai Games There should be more......
ariolander replied to chunkynotsmooth's topic in Computer Gaming
Wella ctually if you are itnerested they did make an excelent game called Samurai Warriors and it is an improved version of Dynasty Warriors about Samurai and taking place in medieval Japan. Its good stuff and definatly an improvment over Dynasty Warriros 4. Has more options in equipments, skills, lvls, weapons and adds many RPG aspects to the traditional hack and slash fighting game series. Good stuff I would reocmend it. My personal favortie in its hybrid genre and oen of my favorites on the Playstation 2... -
https://www.dragon-soldier.net/ Well this game is in its second incarnation I myself have been palying for over a year. I am currently the leader of the Gaerian Special Forces a team of highly specialized and highly active players. Our current record is 208 wins and 0 losses with victories in 5 cosnecutive clan wars. Its a good game with friendly community and nice staff (I would hope so at elast as I am a Chat Mod) and definatly worth checking out. You join tell them Ario sent you they should treat you nice enough or they will end up hearing from me

Does Anyone Play R.o.s.e Online? its MMORPG
ariolander replied to Xacrosancxion's topic in Computer Gaming
I have played it but I stopped a bit... It was neat and all and I liked the graphics but sorry to say the gameplay wore on me. It was good for a while but the novelty wore off and well... I dropped it. -
That is a bit dated and if your gonna copy do copy the links aswell. Well ne ways I played iRO aswell as these private servers you speak of. Actually I hosted one myself a bit less than a year ago. Its good stuff Ragnarok Online is a solid game. I enjoyed it. Well ne ways I happen to be in the moderating staff of the Ragnarok@Ogaming Forums and you really should check it out if you are an interested. We shed a blind eye to private server talks. In all actuality there is a Private Server Section of the forums divided into Low Rate, Medium Rate, High Rate & GM Server sections and ech restricted to server info posts only so there are dozens of server avalable if you bother to look. There is aServer Review section comment on the most popular servers aswell as General Help to help you with any questions or problems as a subdividion of Ragnarok Online Chat among toher things.

Disgaea:hour Of Darkness Thoughts on this Tactics style game
ariolander replied to midgetlord's topic in Computer Gaming
As a game itself it was good if not great. This games main strength is its neat artwork and personality aswell as its trully unique story. In a genre that has very little cariation to me this game's story and multiple endings offered great apppeal. From the conquring the human world to death at the hands of the forces of heaven I kept coming back because there was always something more to do yet it did this in such a way that it did not seem neither corny nore too repetative.Yes this game's story was king... Not since Final Fantasy Tactics on Playstation One had I had a story this intruging. The game litterally draws you in and it is something I could play for hours and not get tired...Awsome game this... -
Guild Wars: Are You Excited? ArenaNets Fee-Free Online RPG
ariolander replied to Mastermund's topic in Computer Gaming
I tend to disagree. It is not just another MMO actually the Devs don't like it being called a MMO despite the similaritys. They insist on the term DORPG (Competitive Online Role Playing Game). First of its genre and a pioneer in the online gaming field. I disagree and will state it is unlike any other MMO I have ever have had the experience of playing. Star Wars Galaxies, World of Warcraft, Lineage 2, Ragnarok Online, Ultima Online, Everquest, Anarchy Online, Priston Tale, Rush On Seven Episodes, Maple Story, Runescape, + a host of smaller korean and beta games most of which I can't think of off hand... Guild Wars is unique in that it is not the '"haha, noob" prejudice game system' again. The game is not based around levels, the game is not based on mindless repitition. Toy do not become stronger by spending 'x' hours of repetative mining, 'x' hours partying at 'hell spawn', 'x' hours hunting rats or similar creatures so that you are that much closer to becoming elite and you inherant right to brag and look down upon the 'foolish newbies'. Guild Wars is different in that it is based around skills. Not just those of your character but that of you the player aswell. More often than not it is the skill and skills of both the player and the player character that will be the deciding factor in a battle rather than levels. Evidence in this is the level cap beign set at 20. Something easily achived in 15-20 hours according to the dev team but a closer estimate would put it at 35. The skill over level emphasis is not the only thing that sets this CORPG appart from other MMOs is its heavy emphasis and the social aspects of teamwork. Though the begining missions could easily be completed by ones self there is a point after lvl 6-8 that the difficulty is upped and probably the most efficient way is to party up with other players. While this may not all seem unusual you must first understand the nature of this game and the world of Guild Wars. Guild Wars is the story, thats right story for this game actually has a plot. If do not know this games is rooted in soem ex-Blizzard employees and finds heavy rooting to the Diablo series and thus if you were to compare it to another game Diablo II would probably be the closest comparison (rather than Everquest 2) While there are litterally over a dozen quests to be completed in each area and even more to be found while exploring the wilderness much emphasis will be put in the main line of mission quests where you will discover the world of Guild Wars as the story slowly unfolds. Before each mission is sort of assembling area where as depending at what point in the game you are partys of 1-6 people can be formed. After formation you enter the mission quest and a world is instanced specifically for you and your party. In these instanced worlds especially later in the game you will often times find yourself at a vast disadvantage and grossly outnumbered. It is only through a combination of teamwork, preperation and skill can one survive. Heavy emphasis is put into the teamwork aspect. For example if your team is unbalanced or poorly built without monks your mean will fall, without elementalists you willb e mobbed, without warriors you willb e ripped apart, stretch yourself to far you each will be picked off and killed. Team work is a vital in this game and especially in the diffrent PvP events from the Hall of Heroes to guild wars not only will each of your individual skills and strength be tested but also your ability to work as a team. If I may quote a discussion of MMOs over at the Freeport4 Forums http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/?showtopic=21&st=0 -
How Would You Rate Astahost?
ariolander replied to rhodesian.dragon's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I am actually pretty hapy with it... I don't even use my hosting as a matter of fact I am here for the forums. I do have my qualms however. It is hard to get into a good conversation here and simply there are not enough threads for me to post on. I usually don't post on a thread unless its good but things get pretty slow around here. Either way my posts are usually long so it keeps my hosting credits up to say the least. Yea the forums are very slow... that would be my only qualm. -
I beg to differ. There are quite a few dang good Xbox titles. Not only does it have its own exclusive titles such as Halo, Halo 2, Dead or Alive 3, Dead or Alive Extreme Beach Volleyball, Dead or Alive Ultimate, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2, Fable, Guilty Gear X2 #ReloadedBut many titles created for PS2 are also released for Xbox and at times the multiplayer is greatly improved by Xbox Live such as my favorite Xbox Live multi system games Rainbow Six 3 & Brothers in ArmsMany games are created for multiple system and whats made for PS2 most likely will be made for Xbox aswell. The two systems share many titles. While indeed I willg rant that PS2 has more games a lot of those are games I myself would enver have palyed anyways.I myself own multiple PS2s but I am willing to play devil's advocate if no one is willing to offer a diffrent opinion. Would be kind of stupid if we all stat here agreeign with eachother.But again what I myself would recomend depends on you. As I said before and I pointed out each of their advantages it depends on the gamer and what he/she is into.

Google is a publically traded comany now. Thought investrs care a whole lot about money I doubt they would let Google do anything immoral nor illegal like that. Google is looked up to in the technology fireld. Where once all the greatest minds looked to be with microsoft it seems that Google is the collecting point of minds and innovation. I seriously doubt they would use any of your information beyond the ads. One thing to keep in mind though is that Google is no more of a threat that AOL. At least Google does not claim all information passed through their services to be their own intelectual property such as AOL where: "You waive any right to privacy. You waive any right to inspect or approve uses of the content or to be compensated for any such uses" Was reading an article and they highlited the TOS that states the terms give AOL ownership of "all right, title and interest in any compilation, collective work or other derivative work created by AOL using or incorporating this content into their services." "In addition, by posting content on an AIM Product, you grant AOL, its parent, affiliates, subsidiaries, assigns, agents and licensees the irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide right to reproduce, display, perform, distribute, adapt and promote this content in any medium" Now if any thing is a threat to privacy I would say aOL moreso than google with not only its email but AIM aswell. Its TOS clearly states that by using it you "You waive any right to privacy"... At least Google's TOS says no such thing as far as I know and they are willing to make reassurances rather than claiming National Security is the reasoning behind the invasion of your privacy... Damn Patriot Act...

It depends on you really depends on what your into. If your up for sports or RPGs I would have tor ecomend you get a PlayStation 2 however if you are into first person shooters and multiplayer Xbox is the way to go expecially if you got a lot of friends. why yesterday we had 16 player Halo 2 among other things (DDR, DoA, & Naruto fighting game)If you have broadband such as myself I highly recomend Xbox and its Xbox Live.
