  1. Adobe GoLive for setting up the base layout. And then after that notepad or some toehr text editor for all alter changes. I find GoLive to be amazing to set up any table type layouts. A lot easier than doing it by hand to say the least.In the end I always end up hand coding >_<;;
  2. The game has changed darasically since the E3 World Preview Event. What you saw there was barely 20% of what the full game had to offer. They actually unlocked all the skills in the PVP mode characters in teh last beta even and man it was crazy. One of the thigns I like aboutt he game is how closely it relies on comunication, teamwork, & skills. no longer is it suficient to have a high level but rather how efectivly you can sue the limited skill combinations you bring with you beforehand. Its nigh imposible to solo missions anymore and because they upped the dificulty of opponents the agro & monster spawns you really have to realy on your team mates a lot. Wether thats good or bad I dunno but I like the comunity feel it makes and the psoibilitys it has for a community and a clan.
  3. It is my opinion that Guilty Gear X-2 is arguably the single greatest 2D fihgting game ever. It has awsome music, highly detailed sprite graphics, interesting characters and damn good gameplay. At $20 starting price for the x-box live enabled re release Guilty Gear X-2 #Reloaded there is nor eason for any fighter fan not to love it.As for 3D fighting games I must say that Dead or Alive has to be my personal favorite... or rather the Dead or Alive girls are my favorites . I dunno Dead or Alive 2's remake in Dead or Alive Ultimate has to be my personal favorite because its just that pretty and ahs the same great gameplay...
  4. Gunbound is a decend game but after a week of play I find it fruitless. With n00bs team killing and opponents that are using uber equipment in the newbie server it is not cool. For me much of this game lost its novelty very quickly when I found myself getting my *bottom* handed to myself round after round by people wo either payed or hacked for some uber equipment that I had no hopes of getting.
  5. Well after the release of the PSP and after having some time to actually play one of these slick machines I am now willing to deem the PSP as the iPod of handheld systems. I am a Creative Nomad person myself and am quite content with my Zen Xtra 40 gig. Surprisingly my Zen is only half the price for a comparable iPod but of course iPods are the latest 'in thing' never mind Creative has better sound quality, batteries, & support. Just as with all apple products with Sony you pay premium price for the Sony name... fck iPod Well enough about iPods because this is a game blog is it not? You don't want to hear about my sad existance or my hatred for apple Mac. In the end though it comes down to games. So as though an iPod is neat what use is it if you do not have any music? (iTunes & its Digital Rights Management (DRM) licenses are crap) No matter the hardware if there is not content you can have all the graphics capability int he world but if there are no games to exploit it. Beyond graphics is gameplay. You can have all the graphics in the world and it won't mean crap if there is no gameplay or content. That is unless it is short of a movie, which mind you is really not the game (well... Xenosaga might count as both but that's a whole different thing ) I can tell you hardware does this and graphics are like this but in the end, at least for me, its the gameplay that matters. Though SNES has very old graphics I still find Chrono Trigger to be one of my favorite games and find myself digging it up to play games like Baseball 2021 or Super Mario All Stars simply because the gameplay is that enjoyable. Though its the games that matter most $500 is not something I will not drop carelessly without taking all things into consideration and with these latest issues I see upon release I just might wait a year till all this stuff are to sort out if I ever were to get a PSP. With rampant screen issues ( href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ), Sony's crappy warranties/support, and a first hand account from a friend I doubt I will be getting a PSP any time soon. My friend whose EBgames.com PSP bundle invoice is screenshoted below spent almost $500 and it is not 3 days later that it is broken. His joystick simply popped off and now that particular piece is unusable or at least so much without any comfort. My verdict is still a nay for the PSP even after a trial run on my friend's (broken) PSP. While I will not be getting a DS either I am waiting for at least another 6 months to see what kind of laser/UMD issues come up with the PSP because historically with its DVD players and later its PS2 Sony has always had issues with first generation products and lasers. As a joke though Sony claims that the dead pixels ( href="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) are a part of all LCDs but the DS has twice as many screens and I never heard of such issues. Though I might not go so far as to call the PSP a glorified N-Gage as one friend of mine referred to it as (he is a Nintendo fanboy, forgive him) my feelings are upon the same lines. I am not about to jump onto this bandwagon but rather I will wait and see because frankly even $250 without games is a big step and quite the investment for me... I like what Nintendo said: "We stress a high level of quality... even one dead pixil is unacceptable"
  6. I have heard of it in a passing mention on a few other forums but never really looked into it. If you could give a recomendation and a link maybe it is soemthing I might try. I am a MMO enthusiast myself.
  7. Of the console systems I own them all besides a Nintendo GameCube. I could have gotten one on numerous occasions but each I politely declined. Just as I once was a Squaresoft/SquareEnix fanboy I was a Nintendo fanboy as well. I played on Nintendo systems as long as I could remember. I played the original GameBoys and loved the SNES dearly. I even choose the Nintendo 64 over the PlayStation. I kept every single issue of Nintendo power for 4 years straight. Now, what could Nintendo have done to cause such a boycott? They made Legend of Zelda Wind Waker… I loved the Legend of Zelda series as much as I loved the Final Fantasy one. Those two games mark some of my largest steps into gaming, my first console & handheld with had Zelda and Final Fantasy founded my strong love for RPG gaming that exists to this day. The day that Legend of Zelda Wind Waker was released I swore that I would never purchase another Nintendo console product again until such time that a proper Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask sequel was released. Sony as of late fares no better in my opinion. Just because I like a system and the games on it does not mean I have to like the developer. Just as one can like Battlefield Vietnam and look forward to Battlefield 2 does not mean one has to love EA whom publishes it. So as I love Disgaea: Hour of Darkness & Samurai Warriors I have no love for Sony either. Though I do not hate them their arrogance (comic makes me sick. I hold no love nor any hatred and with neither of the two developers holding my bias lets look at the hardware. If I were to buy one right now which would I get? The Nintendo DS. Why? Though the PSP has better graphics you will note that from its launch titles that the graphics are fairly inconsistant. Though it is very well capable of near PS2 graphics you will note that not all the games use it because pumped graphics do not come with their vices. For example though both use lithium ion batteries because of the propriatory DVD mini medium the battery life is estimated at 3-5 hours depending wether or not the disk spins at full speed where as the DS has 10+. So it is very well possible the higher the graphics & faster the spin the shorter you can play it on battery and thus the less portable your handheld is. Then there is the price point to consider. The PSP starter pack alone will cost you $400-440 depending which pack you get. Then from there each game starts at $40-50 each. That is about as much as a console game where mind you though it lack portability (not that the PSPs estimated 4 hour battery life is very portable) generally speaking console games can offer more content, better graphics, better online play, and overall more bang for your buck. Yes, indeed the PSP does support the play of DVD movies but it is on their Sony UMD format and thus is simply a promotion for their Sony Movies Entertainment division. Yes, the sony can play mp3s but so can my $30 CD player and my $200 40 gig Creative Nomad (I am sure most of you have hopped on the iPod bandwagon already) and I am sure anyone willing to drop a $500 initial buy for this handheld can very much afford a MP3 player for mp3s and has a DVD player for DVDs. With all these features that are unassociated with gaming next you are going to tell me the PSP doubles as a cell phone aswell a la N-Guage. At least Nintendo offers its backward compatability and a large library of GBA games to play as each of these handheld's library's develops When it comes to the bottom line the two things that concern me most are the games and the price. $500 is not something I will drop lightly and even if it is cheap that does not mean it has good games. For now however I will buy neither even if I had the money. For with $500 I would much rather get myself a Athalon 64 3500+, Motherboard, a gig RAM and another 250gig SATA drive...
  8. Well it would help to know... What OS are you using? Cause it mattersDo you have all your security updates?Cause no matter what security you got they will keep coming back if you don't plug in the holes.What the hell kind of sties have you been visiting to kill you in a single month?I mean with a simple Norton & all my updates not even pr0n or warez gets to me.Also what kind of connection/network you on?Cause it might help to know...
  9. Well look at it this way. It took us over 60 years to come up with our current infrastructure and it is completely dependent on fossil fuels. In order to make any major switch beyond those crappy electric cars and stupid hybrids is a major endevor. We would need to redo our country's entire land based transportations system. Granted it would be easier to do for stuff such as trains but a majority of our products are transported via truck so the roads will be the main concern. To make any significant switch from fossil fuils would be like starting it up from the ground up and frankly I doubt that is something anyone is happy to do untill least possible moment.Also another thing to consider besides the money involve is who has money. The people who control the fossil fuels have amazing amounts of moeny and I am sure they will do everything in their power to stop any switch. We all heard rumors on what kind of technologies and patents they own and are withholding from us. They have tones of cash and pleanty of political connections. I mean c'mon the US's freaking president comes from a oil family.As for my choice... Fuel cells... Maybe hydrogen fuel cells...
  10. In that case Final Fantasy 7 is a definite. It is cited for the development of the modern RPG. 1up credits it in their 50 essentuals for popularizing console RPGs in the U.S., being the first game to effectively integrate CG video throughout the presentation and maybe most significant of all Final Fantasy 7 set new records for production budget on a single game. How is this revolutionary? Well it is part of contributing to today's rising costs of development where nowday games cost almost as much as feature films...Grand Theft Auto 3 might be another good canidate. Its landmarks include its contribution to the debate over violence in gaming. Merged "sandbox" design with action focus to create "emergent" (I love that word) gameplay. Cemented "thug" & mob themes as the new hotness and is the best-selling series of the current generation mading Rockstar a publishing giant. True they were not original ideas but it buit on concepts like Legend of Zelda Ocerena of Time (another possible classic) and its non linear design and open word.Heck maybe Counter-Strike & Halo might be considered classics. They both made major contributions to online FPS gaming that I so love. Counter Strike as one of the most played and Halo (aswell as Halo 2 & Xbox live) for bringing it to a mainstream audience.I also happen to be a fan of fighting games beyond FPSs and RPGs so I would have to give some credit to Streetfighter 2 as the best of its generation and Guilty Gear X2 (asnd the Xbox Guilty Gear X2 #Reloaded) as on one of the alst great sprite based fighting gamesFor PC maybe give the Comand & Conquer & Sidmier games some credit. Awsome strategy games. You could mention MMOs but that is too new I guess... Well time will tell
  11. Does Kendo Rage count? Its a neat game for super nintend or do we need to chose a game that is 8-bit?.If you have never ehard of Kendo Rage then surely you must have heard of Chrono Trigger. Now that game rocked. That Chrono Cross is blaspamy but the original SNES game was dang good. If that is not a classic even if it is not <=8 bit you should slap yourselves...
  12. Nah it was subdomain... I used to have a domain name of my own. ariolander.com as a matter of fact but that got lost when my hosts kept buying out one another.Is there something wrong with my browser? I filed yesterday for a subdomain account... Never even got that far. Last thing it lets me do is type "Yes" to confirm then nothing...
  13. How did you even get that far? I followed the instructions on ym email and it did not bode well.
  14. Speaking of RO private servers do look into http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It has neat server listings and info if you are interested. If you are strapped for cash and are looking for MMO type gameplay another alternative would be Guild Wars. It is beta now but it delevers a MMO like experience without the monthly fee. As for true MMOs I believe anarchy is running a promotion (or at least WAS runnign a promotion) where you can DL the game via BitTorrent legally through them and get a year of the basic game free along with chances at free copies of the expansions if you choose to upgrade and switch to subscription. Aside formt eh two above there is a good number of korean beta type games worth looking into the Multi-Player Online Gaming Directory ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ) because they have news on all online games and info on how to get into betas, trials and the like. (along with some neat browser base games that canr eally kill A LOT of time)
  15. CS:S I assume refers to Counter Strike: Source As for your surround sound question I found informationregarding as to a 5.1 setup in the steam help but as for 7.1 I have yet to se any information on it. I did some diging for you and here is a comment in a review for Half Life 2: Sound The sound in the game is amazing. For those lucky ones that have a 5.1 or 7.1 sounds system, the support is terrific. It really helps set the atmosphere even more, with 3D positiona audio creating distinct sounds from different directions. This immerses you even further in the game. The same story for graphics goes for sound support, the better hardware you have the better Half Life 2 is going to sound. Sounds for explosions and gun fire are nicely sampled and well chosen for the task. This, combined with the graphics, really increases the gaming experience. If the reviewer is correct then indeed yes it supports it but I would not know. I only use a cheap 2.1 setup.
  16. Well again I too am a text editor fan. Staring at sorce code through notepad (more recently through UltraEdit) is how I learned HTML and how I continue to code HTML. I have tried Frontpage and frankly each and every time I found myself using its source view and entering ym code manually just so I could have more control and precision in my designs. Even afterward I find ymself streamlining and cleaning up the code afterwords >_<;; I have tried dreamweaver aswell and frankly I dispised it. Sure you can do a lot with it but it was a pain to enter my own code into its interface.Of all the editors I have seen only the lesser known Adobe goLive can I use with satisfaction. I like the code it puts out because its nice and clean with minimal excess and it is very flexable. Simply the way it is set up makes it ideal for setting up at least the table parts on my latest project (though I still spend a good time enterign source myself). Though I prefer text editors this Adobe Golive has helped me manage a complex series fot ables and iframes on my latest project that would have taken me much longer to develop by hand.
  17. Counter Strike Source is an excelent game much like Counter Strike was and still is. The graphics are great and the gameplay is same as old. I have to agree with that last coment though. If you are looking for plot you should not be looking at FPSs, (though the Half Life series does a good job) go play an RPG or something for that. And again if you are looking for massive power weapons and nukes Unreal Tournament is for you... or alternativly a Metal Gear Solid game will do For sheer fun factor Counter Strike Source is one of my own personal favorites. I mean I bought Half Life 2 specifically to play the dang thing and frankly I am not disapointed. Hell I only played 5-6 hours of Half Life 2 compared to in excess of 40 on Counter Strike Source... Online gaming rocks... Counter Strike Source Rocks... As for system requirments here are the ones for Half Life 2 and I am assuming you need for steam aswell. You can play it on most wether or not with the full graphics is questionable. Here is the list for referance: Minimum System Configuration 1.2 GHz Processor 256MB RAM DirectX 7 capable graphics card Windows 2000/XP/ME/98 Mouse Keyboard Internet Connection CD or DVD rom drive (retail version only) Preferred System Configuration 2.4 GHz Processor 512MB RAM DirectX 9 capable graphics card Windows 2000/XP/ME/98 Mouse Keyboard Internet Connection CD or DVD rom drive (retail version only)
  18. What if I said that life has nothign to do with religion at all?Meaning of life? To mature, reproduce, and pass one one's genetic data.
  19. I was baptized as Roman Catholic. but as of late I have begun to question my own faith. After having an argument with my pastor aswell as the administration with the administration with the Catholic school I used to go to I have not practiced my faith in over 3 years.
  20. Its a good solid game and I used to paly it all the time but not so much now. I think I ended up buying all of the different expansions. Its good stuff you know. As for mods I used to paly some of the earlier Desert Combat mods but have not seen the final. I remember the Starwars mod being decent aswell as some strage pirate one if memory serves correct 0.o;;
  21. Well I use CuteFTP myself... Its good stuff though I got this neat WebDrive thing installed aswell and I guess that counts as a client aswell. Its a neat little thing that creates the FTP site as a virtual hard drive on your computer... Its alright I guess
  22. IBP is the best out there in my opinion but they have put so many restrictions on their free trial version that I would enver use any of their new builds. I like phpBB from that list provided. vBullitin is good but pain to install. IBP is the best its free licence just sucks...phpBB for the win I guess...
  23. pr0n? Well actually just general surfing will do when that does not happen I usually just buzz around forums for a while. I spend an amazing amount of time on forums or reading articles while I am DLing soemthing. Then again I also play some browser based games and thsoe two take up a nice chunk of time. I mdoerate some forums aswell as am part of several online groups. Overally it keeps me pretty buisy I can alsways find something to amuse ymself with like most recently a neat flash game called Nanaca-Crash ( http://megami.starcreator.com/nanaca-crash/ )
  24. Personally I prefer it on my elft because thats where I start reading. I generally put my navigation stuff on the left side myself though as of late my last 3 sites all have had their nav on the top. Leaves me with a lot more space to work with particularly when you are trying to make a 800x600 compatable site... Maybe to much on the 1024,768 one I just made now >_<;;
  25. The game was cool and all but I stoped right after they introduced the new graphics system. Total of three things all at the same time made me drop Runescape. It was good while it lasted but after my clan disbanded and I did not have groups of people to play with I stopped visiting frequently. Shortly after I got killed while waiting for someone to do a deal and lost 700,000 gold coins. Then after that on of my old clanmated invited me to play Ragnarok Online with him on a private server where he was the event GM. Since then I have been playing many different korean MMOs and can't really go back to Runescape.
