  1. If you're going to upgrade you might as well upgrade to v1.5.1 - it's supposed to fix a security hole.
  2. Enable sending referrers? I've never come across that before. If you need templates Alex King has a ton of them. http://alexking.org/
  3. I think you're looking for subscriptions scripts?Blogs have this great feature - RSS. Syndicated feeds. I think Xisto board has this too if I'm not wrong. What it does is send the updates to a format where newsreaders/feedburners can read and notify users subscribed via the feedburner. You can also set up your blog to ping sites that output a list of latest updated blogs.Of course, you can do this with forums too, but it's a lot more complicated. The advantage is that users can discuss at your site itself.
  4. Ok! I believe everyone loved the Army Gaming game mod, but since you guys are running it on another site, what's the point in installing that on my forums? Instead, I've installed Munjpets! To cater for the girls who don't like Army Gaming (or would rather care for things instead of killing ) or boys who like pets too I need some ideas on what to name the species of pets. Please, no ripping off species names from the Neopets website Nono. For more information - check it out yourself here http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  5. OK, here's the thing. The uh, readme for application for mod/admin. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Anyone can become a member. If it seems bare at the moment, it's because it's barely (ha ha pun not intended ) 2 days old Hype and I are working hard to get things up and running, so tell us what you'd like to see! If you've got good ideas, join the team! Hope to see you soon.
  6. I like California, Oregon and Wisconsin.I like CA because you get better Chinese food there than in any other state (except maybe NY, but then I've never been to NY so can't say for sure). Plus there's Disneyland and Universal Studios and Hollywood and all that. The weather's nice too most of the time.Next is Oregon because of the coast. I love the scenery and the mountains. But it's cold!Third would be Wisconsin, because my aunt stays there but it's too far, and wayyyy too cold.
  7. Why can't you get PayPal?I have paypal and I don't own a credit card. I'm just going to order things online with it is all.You don't have to verify Paypal. It's only if you have a credit card.
  8. This is in my opinion more trustworthy than Netbux, and let me tell you why: 1. It doesn't rudely eliminate PayPal with no warning, in order to cash in on Stormpay's 6-level-deep affiliate program. In other words, it has morals. 2. People at the forum are helpful and quick to respond. 3. The minimum level for payout is extremely low - $0.02 and you can reach this with four or five clicks (but move fast - the links get clicked quickly). 4. Convenience - holds referral information for you up with most major PTC, PTR and PTS sites. Gets your ids out, gets you referrals. What more could you ask for? Here's the clean link - http://www.imediafox.com/neobux.php I get paid uh $0.0002 so, well, doesn't really matter if you use it or not . Notice from BuffaloHELP & snlildude87: BuffaloHELP: Post edited as per request. snlildude87: Do not post referral links as they are against the ToS of Xisto.
  9. Well it's going to be about many things. One is about stuff you can do to make money online, sort of like Netbux programs (but of course we'll try to find more reputable ones) that members find online and post their reviews about it.Also about hosting, free hosting reviews and stuff like that. Although there are free host directories but more of real people posting their personal reviews + experiences in the forum. Also reviews of PHP scripts, CGI scripts, even Fantastico scripts. Can also upload your own for the rest to give feedback.I suppose it's redundant to offer free hosting, since I obviously can't (and won't want to) beat Trap 17's services. I'm also not planning on a tutorial section so that it won't compete with the one here.Think of it as more of an expansion on the end-user side of programs and scripts and things like that.Oh yeah, and the Sims2. How could I forget that.Planning on having a section for people to talk about the game and upload their skins and objects for others to comment on.Not decided if I should have a donators-only forum (but mods + admins get access). Will think more about that.
  10. Okay I'm not sure if I posted in the right place, anyway I'm not using it to gain credits unfairly so I think it's alright. I just opened a new forum at my site - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I need a mod team, and some members (so that the mods can actually do some work! lol). Anybody willing to join? I've already got 1 admin, hype. I think I need 1 more. Someone I can trust, and who knows his/her way around the board settings etc. I need 3 mods, preferably who spend lots of time online and active on the Xisto forums here (as a proof that you're gonna be active on my board). You don't have to be hosted member but it'll be a bonus if you are. Interested, register over there, and reply to this thread! Thanks Hope to see you soon.
  11. Just a quick question - The "you can look this good" refers to the top pic or the bottom one?LOL.
  12. LOL. It's a short form for "Web Log". Web Log - weblog - blog.*revelation* lol. :(I've always kept journals. It's therapy for me. Putting down all my thoughts. Helps clear my mind. But I've always wanted a journal that could be public and yet private. It's advantageous when you want to record an event (say a date? or that cute guy I saw at the bus stop hehehe) and share it with your friends (or friendly strangers) without having to repeat yourself 35175262 times to all of them one by one.But it's disadvantageous when people who don't know you well read things that might have more than one meaning to it or can be interpreted to be good, or bad, depending on how well they know you.I've personally experienced that last bit - about weird people I hardly know coming to me and irritating me to bits about things I'd rather not talk about.I appreciate their goodwill (if it was in goodwill and not just that they are busybodies), but if the only things we've ever said to each other is "Hello" and "Goodbye" or even just a nod or (fake, ok, courteous) smile then it's a little bit strange to suddenly feel this urge to enquire after my well being, especially in my private life, don't you think? That's why I love that WP lets you password-protect posts and block unregistered users.I was previously with Blogger and it didn't let me do that.I have another private blog (yes, another! lol, no surprise init? ) that only 4 people know about, and I make sure it stays that way It's not even hosted on my site.Well I think I've said enough. Time to hit 'reply'.
  13. Click on Fantastico, or Addon Scripts.
  14. Yes, I have a blog. :lol:Best free host? Trap 17. Install WP 1.5
  15. Heyy, I like programming and stuff. I just don't want to learn it in a restricted environment because I think it'll kill my interest.Same as why I refused to take art lessons.I'm really protective of things I enjoy doing. I refuse to be taught; I'd rather discover things on my own. It makes it that much more meaningful.Blame it on the rigidity of the education system and the overemphasis on academic results.Besides, if you do learn stuff on your own, it'll be because you were motivated to learn it and not because other people pushed you to, hence you'll be more likely to remember it.
  16. Whoa, the header banner is really brilliant. I like it alot, good job :lol:But the navigation buttons are a little hard to read, changing the font to something more readable would be more user friendly :(But overall, great job!
  17. At the top of every topic is a topic tree that show you at which forum you currently are. Just click on the first link - that says Free Web Hosting and it should take you back to the Forum Index where you will see a summary of your credits. Hope that helped ya Enjoy your stay!
  18. Wish You Were Here Words/music: Skip Ewing/Bill Anderson/Debbie Moore Artist: Mark Wills Album: Wish You Were Here They kissed goodbye at the terminal gate. She said, ?You?re gonna be late if you don?t go.? He held her tight, said, ?I?ll be alright. I?ll call you tonight to let you know.? He bought a postcard, on the front it just said, Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach. And the simple words he wrote her said he loved her, and they told her how he?d hold her if his arms would reach. ?Wish you were here; wish you could see this place. Wish you were near; I wish I could touch your face. The weather?s nice, it?s paradise; it?s summertime all year. And there?s some folks we know, they say, ?Hello, I miss you so, wish you were here.? ? She got a call that night, but it wasn?t from him. It didn?t sink in right away, ?Ma?am the plane went down, our crews have searched the ground - no survivors found,? she heard him say. But somehow, she got a postcard in the mail, that just said, Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach. The weather?s nice in paradise, it?s summertime all year. And all the folks we know, they say, ?Hello, I miss you so, wish you were here.? ?
  19. You're right, in a way. Hosting WEBSITES isn't a feasible way of gathering information. However, hosting BLOGS are. Ta-da! Enter Google's takeover of Blogger! Whoa, I think we have a conspiracy theory here! Whoops. We'd better go change our names and get fake IDs or something
  20. Whoa, pen pals! We're out of the Dark Ages, I thought... LOL Just kidding. :lol:If you're looking for blog buddies, I think there's a Xisto Blog Project going on, if I'm not wrong... Uh, but I forget the address...
  21. I can't, either. I just tried. Hmm, I wonder why??
  22. You can do it manually. If you're asking if you can transfer it automatically like the Blogger import function that WP has, it's not possible.
