My country is 67 sq km. It's an island. You can drive from one end to the other in about one hour. Not that I've done that. :DWe have four national languages - English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil. When waiting for the MRT (that's like the subway) to come, all the messages are broadcast over the sound system in those four languages. As such, I am now able to say "For your safety, please stand behind the yellow lines." in all four languages. No, I'm just kidding. Don't ask me to do it. :PNope, I've never been to Slovenia. Wouldn't mind visiting though.

How about neither? B-but... There's not much you can customise? You can do more on Blogger! Well, I guess that's about all you could do with myspace, really... It sucks, totally. I suppose it's all right if you're new and would like to test out and get a feel of what a blog's like and then move on when you have a bigger appetite but really, there are so many other better ones you can start from without having to ruin your experience. I recommend Blogger for newbies, and WordPress for more advanced users.

I'm not even saying that non-Chinese shouldn't get themselves a Chinese name. Whoever wants one is welcome to have one.It's people who insist on adopting these half-boiled ones that are getting under my skin.Do things properly, you know? Wise saying of the day: One can spell words out for people, but unfortunately one can't multiply brain cells for them. There's that thread in one of the other forums where people can go to some site that churns out random Chinese characters which sound similar to how they're pronounced in English, but make no sense whatsoever. In fact, most of the names are utterly ridiculous. Like the one I saw recently which was so proudly displayed by the poor soul who thought it was the greatest thing on earth, when it actually really meant "Horse repairer". How on earth does one repair horses? Does that make sense to you? Thought not. I know, I'm prolly just making a big deal out of nothing. Nothing to you, maybe, but hey, belonging to a race with over 5000 years of culture and history, one does expect others to respect the language as a language and respect themselves too, that is, if they'd like to appear as having at least a few shreds of intelligence left. Posting a "name" which a person doesn't know the meaning of, leaves one pondering the amount of abovementioned desirable attribute that person possesses. If you're just dying to get yourself a Chinese name, at least look up a dictionary and pick some words with meaning, for cryin' out loud. I've always been interested in this particular topic. It's sorta related to time travel (but I don't really wanna time travel... )I think it's interesting how we can't measure time without light. Like the very first time measurements (the sundial) were based on the changes in shadows - which are made by blocking light.And also how we can't measure light without time. How do you define light? Scientifically you can only say it's photons which travel at a certain speed. And speed is distance/time.There you have it.

You can just pick it yourself then. Each character has a different meaning. Just match them to what your real name means. Obviously, it's not going to sound the same. I agree with what some person said early on in the thread - it's pretty dumb to see everyone going nuts over this because every "name" has absolutely no meaning at all except for Becca's, but then that's because she's Chinese and her mother actually gave her that name. Plus it's pretty painful for Chinese (like me) to see everyone mangling the language up as well. Just my thoughts.
