  1. Hey, that's really interesting. Thanks alot for the info
  2. Yep, I emailed their support people and they do have Fantastico. Anyways I've gone ahead and signed up already. My dad agreed so yay! I have 1500MB of webspace! Brilliant eh That plan has 50 addon domains so it's cool. Anyway I've got 30 days to test it out and if I don't like it I can get a refund Gonna go try out the suggestions. Thanks Dragonfly and rvalkass. If the rep points thing was fixed I'd give you both rep points! But alas it's not so I suppose you'll just have to be content with the thought hehe
  3. Yes, but I'm not able to afford Trap 17's rates. I'm on 150MB and free now, but if I pay, it's only 50MB of space at 10/year - and I'm switching to paid because I need more space, so it doesn't make sense. The host I am switching to offers 250MB of space for 7.99/year. If I can persuade my dad to help me, maybe I can even afford the better plan that is 20/year for 1.5GB of webspace. If anyone wants to check it out, it's http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  4. That certainly does help Thanks. Just a teeny weeny question How do I go about running the script on the server? Go to phpMyAdmin and use the Query?
  5. Yeah, okay, thanks. :PWhat about the data in the mysql databases? How do I get that over?
  6. I think that people will donate if your site is really useful. No harm adding it, after all like you said it's just a small box. What irritates me are sites which beg for donations.
  7. Whoa, could you like scale down the screenshot I can't really see it properly. :PBut it looks kinda cool actually. I just might try Aston Shell...
  8. Well I've never wanted google to crawl my site, and I hate it when my images show up in google image search I'm weird like that. So it's perfect for me, really.
  9. How would I achieve this?OK, I'll admit that Trap 17 is really the best free host there ever can be found, but I need more space to do all the things I want to do.So I'm considering getting a paid hosting plan at another site. I've emailed the hosting support at several sites with regards to moving my existing site to their servers. One of them said that if I gave them my FTP password and username they could do it.My question is - is this safe? Is there another way to do it? Perhaps create another FTP account? Will that be as effective? What about all the stuff in the mysql databases? How does an FTP account transfer that over? Thanks to anyone for replying.
  10. Wow, that's really interesting. Welcome to Xisto and hope you enjoy your stay
  11. For those of you who still love playing those pixelated games by Maxis like Sim Farm and Sim Tower, this is a good hint for you.Start a new game in Sim Tower, save it, then exit. Take note of where your filename and where it has been saved.Open up the DOS Command Prompt. In WinXP this can be found under Accessories in your Start Menu.Get to the place where your saved file is.Normally you would type C:\simtower\mytower.tdt ( where "mytower" is the name of your saved file)After you get there, type e 100 00 24 ** 00 85 FF FF 00 (where "**" is the number of stars you want your tower to have - 01: one star, 02: two stars, etc.)Hit enter/return key then type "w", then hit enter/return key again and type "q".Now exit the command prompt and load up your tower. Happy playing, you're now a millionaire!
  12. That was pretty gross/sick, actually. LOL. But great job with the flash animation. Kinda like Happy Tree Friends sick.
  13. You know what I think? In 20 years, hosting went from $30 a month or something to free hosting on Trap 17.In 5-10 years, domain names will probably be free as well.
  14. Saint Michael, what do you mean? In my first image preview - you mean the Life In Mono one? The diagonal lines, if you're referring to those, are meant to deter people from stealing my layout Other than that I can't think what other lines you're referring to :(I know you're a pro at graphics - if you've got any suggestions I'd love to hear them !!
  15. Hulunes, I emailed you.. in simplified chinese you can actually email me or leave me messages in chinese.. I'm not familiar with fan ti but I can guess most of it!! (Didn't know parts of China still use fan ti?) Thanks for signing my guestbook!! Here is a preview of my Korean theme, Bo Go Ship Da. I'm not sure if I am allowed to post the lyrics here in the forums since it's not English. I normally paste the lyrics (if any) of the themes I make into the introduction section of the text area. If you can't wait for the files to be released, you can search my blog archives I think I blogged the lyrics once. Anyway enough talk. Here's the preview:
  16. I use the Advanced Guestbook script for my site guestbook and lately I've been getting lots of spam.I looked through the files and noticed there doesn't seem to be a way to stop this; even the guestbook on the Advanced Guestbook site itself contains tons of spam.Does anyone know of a way to prevent this? Or do I have to change guestbooks... Again?? My friends are all going to be really tired of me asking them to repeatedly sign again and again
  17. Huh, didn't really get you but I'll take it as a compliment Haha!I'm planning to do two more themes... "Bo go ship da" (korean theme) from the theme of Stairway to Heaven and "Meteor Rain" (chinese theme) from the Meteor Garden I series
  18. That is so cool.. I wonder if there's a way to do this with gimp?
  19. Here's my latest. I haven't got the files ready for download yet. I still need to test it out in Blogger. But enjoy the screenshot View original screenshot Any comments? Notice from BuffaloHELP: Edited as per request.
  20. Like I said in my GIF tutorial, GIMP's as good as Photoshop (or even better) and it's totally free, so.. obvious choice, really. The latest stable release is 2.2.7 or if you prefer to live on the bleeding edge, you can get the 2.3.0 or 2.3.1 development releases from https://www.gimp.org/ Windows users please take note that you have to install the GTK runtime environment for it to function. You could get it from https://www.gimp.org/windows/ but I think I got mine from sourceforge. OK so if you're all set now, you can start up GIMP and you're ready to follow this tutorial Step One - Open the image you want to make into a map Open it with GIMP, of course. If you have other image editors set as the default, don't double-click on the image file. Right-click and select "Open with..." and choose GIMP. Step Two - Set View to 100% If your image file is big (or sometimes even if it's not) GIMP will display it in the workspace at a zoom level of 67% (normally, but if it's huge, it might display at a smaller zoom). I find it easier to set the view back to 100% so I can have a proper view of the image. Go to the fourth menu called "View". In the dropdown box, the third option reads "Zoom (67% or whatever value)". Hover over this option, then another menu will popup on the right. Select "1:1 (100%)". Now do whatever you like to the image, cut it, zap it, burn it, then when you're finally satisfied with the image and ready to make it into a map, save it (as a backup). Step Three - Opening the ImageMap Editor Now, go to the menu called "Filters". This is the 9th menu from the left, just between Dialogs and Script-Fu. There'll be a whole list of stuff you can do to your image. What we are looking for is ImageMap. This can be found in the third section of the dropdown. See where there's a line across and below that the option reads "Glass Effects"? The very last option before the next line across reads "Web". Hover over it, and select ImageMap. Step Four - The ImageMap Editor Now your image will be opened in a new window, and the titlebar reads <Untitled> - ImageMap. Your image will be displayed on the left, and the edit box on the right. The edit box is named "Selection" and is where the details of the selections like URL or iframes are stored. On the far left there's a toolbar. You will see the following buttons 1) a black cursor arrow - for selecting shapes (to edit) 2) a blue rectangle - for selecting rectangular sections 3) a blue circle - for selecting circular sections 4) a blue odd-shaped button - for selecting sections with more than 4 corners 5) a ghosted-out tool-like button - for editing 6) a ghosted-out trashcan button - for deleting Step Five - Making the links in the ImageMap Editor Let's say I want a rectangular section of my image to be linked to a page on my site called "main.html". Click on the second button for selecting rectangles. Go to the area where you wish to have linked to "main.html". Here's where a bit of imagining and estimating is needed. Try to imagine where the top left corner of the rectangle will be. Click on the spot that will be the corner, and a point will be anchored. Now move the mouse right and down as much as you want. The area covered will be the size of the rectangle. When you're satisfied with the size, click again. This point will be the bottom right corner. A dialog box should pop up asking you to fill in the details of this rectangle. Pay attention to this field "URL to activate when this area is clicked (required):" This is where I would enter "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/". Notice also the tab "Javascript" at the top. If you want, this is where you can add fancy effects whenever someone hovers over that particular section (if you know how). When you're done, click on Apply and then OK to be returned to the main ImageMap editor screen. Now you can see on the right that there's a new selection with the blue rectangle icon and the URL of the link. Play around as much as you like. Try out the circle and polygon buttons to see what kind of shapes you can select. Final Step - Generating the source code When you're done and satisfied with the map, in the ImageMap editor, click the third menu "View". Now click on the option "Source". A dialog box pops up displaying the HTML code which you can select to copy and paste into your HTML editor. Congratulations, you've successfully made an image map! Whee * If you found this tutorial useful, you might like to read my other GIMP GIF tutorial. * For more information on GIMP, you can check out the documentation at https://www.gimp.org/docs/
  21. In your source code, between the < style > and < /style > tags, define the division style. For example, the division ID is going to be called "circles" This is what it should look like: <html> <head> <style> - whatever else styles you have - <!-- the style of your div --> #circles { blah blah } <!-- style of named objects --> #circles a { background: the color AT FIRST url(url of your circle image); } <!-- style when your mouse goes over the links --> #circles a:hover { background: the color you want it to change to url(url of your circle image); } </style> </head> <body> <div id="circles"> <a name="circle1">the circle</a> </div> </body> </html> OK some explanation in order: The output you'll get is just the circle shape with the words "the circle" in the circle shape. If you need to look at an example you can take a look at my blog. The colour of the circles in the top menu changes when you hover your mouse over it - I assume that's the effect you're talking about. It was done in PHP but that's too complicated to explain here and anyway I only used PHP because that's what my blog engine runs on. You'll get the same effect just fine if you use CSS and HTML. Hope that answered your question. Any other questions I'll be happy to help. Notice from BuffaloHELP: Edited as per request. Instead of tag use [html] tag for pretty colors~ .
  22. I got out! Yeah!! :PBut it took me a few clicks to find out you had to go up close to the door knob before you could use the screw driver.I guess the empty CD case is useless?
  23. Argh I think I'm going to have to give up.I think the URL on that piece of paper is outdated. All those Japanese words seem to say that as of 1 Jan 2005, the new URL will be takagism.netI tried replacing the domain with takagism.net but I got a 404 error.
  24. You need to hunt around for more items, crashcore. A cassette goes into that box. And you need the battery to play it.serverph - thanks for the hint I'll try that out.
