When I first started using the Internet (about more than ten years ago) I must admit that Yahoo and Excite were the first search engines/directories I used. Not too long after that I used Alta Vista. Then around late 1999/early 2000 a friend of mine mentioned about a site called Google...so I checked it out and...well, that's what I've been using since then.

Are Girls Prettier Without Makeup? Vote & Say You Thoughts
shigajet replied to lihuyt's topic in Health & Fitness
Like a few others have said, it depends on the girl. For many women, the make-up can enhance her facial features (eyes, cheekbones, etc.) , but there are just as many that can be attractive naturally. And, of course, the best kind of beauty comes from inside. If she has an attractive personality that matches her good looks (regardless of whether she wears make-up or not), then so much the better. -
I quite agree with your story as well, watermonkey. I figure that you shouldn't interact with any wild animal...if you're just by yourself. There may be some exceptions, though, like if you are accompanied by someone who is trained in dealing with wild animals. Small birds may be relatively easy, but bigger animals may be a bit of a stretch.

New Site! Review It Please! ...once again... TheMusicOnly
shigajet replied to MusicOnly's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Just checked out your website, and I quite like what I see so far....especially the colour scheme! Can't wait to see until after you develop it. By the way, was the header image your own or was it part of a Joomla template? If it was the former, how were you able to place it there? -
Get 30 Gb Email For Free let us talk about , email system for huge data
shigajet replied to getmorehelp's topic in Software
Personally, I can't really see myself using 30 GB for mail - it's just too overwhelmingly big. If I frequently received large files then maybe that would be a place where I'd store them. Interesting web mail service...but I'll stick with Gmail. -
Interesting and highly informative tutorial you've got there, Lightmage. I agree with being aware of what might happen around you, but also it's equally important to keep your emotions in check and not let the attacker know that you're in a panic. As for the fight, usually it should be in a situation when you have no other choice, and I think your steps pretty muvh sums it up nicely...probably better than I would've done.

Mascot Phobia cant understand why some are afraid of mascots
shigajet replied to serverph's topic in General Discussion
I couldn't really stand the mascots at Walt Disney World and/or Canada's Wonderland, but somehow I thought the mascots for baseball teams were kinda cool....well, at least they were cool to me when I was a kid. Who could forget the Phillie Fanatic? (Philadelphia Phillies)...or the Chicken (San Diego Padres) or even Youppi! (Montreal Expos...when they were still in Montreal).I don't know, maybe it's was just my preference. -
Welcome aboard, Mkai! I'm one of the "veteran" members here on the forums and I think you've found a great community that also has a great free web hosting service. I also support moving to a Sig of the Month feature, and two weeks should be more than enough time for people to get their entries in. As for a title, perhaps it's best to keep it as is...since you suggested a certain amount of time for people to cast their votes on the sigs.

Hey There! ^___^ Me, a newbie, introducing myself. =)
shigajet replied to Drag0nflie's topic in Introductions
Welcome aboard, DragOnflie (Lewis)!Glad to see that you've discovered the Trap! I'm one of the "veteran" members of the community and I think you'll enjoy your stay here, too. Great to hear that you like hockey as well. I used to play it for leisure with my university buddies a few years ago. During the winter we played the game on a nearby canal, and when the weather warmed up we'd play it in large parking lot (using a ball instead of a puck of course). Anyway, have fun on the boards and we look forward to more posts from you in the future. -
Welcome aboard, Krissy!Glad to hear that you like meeting new people on the forum. I'm one of the "veteran" members, and I recently came back to the Trap after a long hiatus because I realized how great a service (forum and web hosting) they've got going for them. The community is great and it keeps on growing! If you've got a question or a probelm, don't hesitate to contact the moderators/admins. They'll be more than willing to help you out. Hope you enjoy your stay here, and we hope to see more of you on the boards!

My choice would be thumb USB or the sake bottle, although I think the latter would be a bit more subtle. The thumb would definitely get a double-take from passers-by. I've seen weirder (or worse, depending on your point of view) memory sticks, like the humping dog USB drive.

I sometimes have trouble managing my time...even now. Kinda makes me wonder how I got through university. I mean I worked hard and such, but looking back I keep on thinking that things might have been smoother if I had organized my time better. My worst case example would be the "all-nighter" essays I used to do frequently. I guess at the time I thought, "I work best under pressure" (or is that "I work ONLY under pressure"). Anyway...my advice would be to make a list of things you have to do for the semester (not just for the month)...better yet, put them on a calendar and highlight it so that you 'll never forget when an assignment/essay/project is due.

I have the PortableApps suite, which contains pretty much the base programs (like Open Office, Firefox, etc) but you can also add to your collection and keep everything (more or less) in one place. It certainly is great to have all these applications on a USB memory stick, since it also means that I'm able to save some space and memory on the computer.

When I was younger, my favourite bit of cooking was using the barbeque. Must be something about the char-broiled smell of burgers, steaks and hot dogs. Apart from that, I also like making tacos and pancakes for breakfast. Pity my cooking experience goes only a little beyond that.

I just checked out the website for Inbox.com and although it appears to be a good deal (5 GB of e-mail storage, plus many other features), I'd personally stick with Gmail since you can easily integrate it with your calendar, documents, etc. That, plus the fact that I really don't want another e-mail address now or in the near future.

A Little Starter On Home Security With Some Links Included
shigajet replied to lihuyt's topic in Home & Garden
At my parent's house, the front entrance has two glass panels on each side of the door. This is another common target for a burglar, as it would allow him/her to break the glass panel, reach around and unlock the door. We've never been broekn into, but my dad installed a bolt at the bottom that goes trough the door in just in case. -
We've got ADSL (not the fastest speed) and, depending on the area of the earthm some images take a while to load....plus it takes up a lot of resources. How long does it take to load all the images on dial-up?

Rather than using a patch or some kind of program to quit the smoking habit, you could also use a book. Sometimes that's all it takes. Allen Carr's "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" has been proven effective because the philosophy behind the book is different. I personally know a couple of friends who were able to not only quit smoking, but also are able to not crave another cigarette again. Here's a quick link: Allen Carr - Wikipedia entry
