Erm wtf! im allowed to have my opinion just as much as you are (infact probably more so seeing as I am mod here )..and I prolly know a lot more about religion than most, seeing as I was brought up inside the church and all of my schooling was by monks and nuns, and I used to attend mass twice a day.I also worked for the church as an alter boy for many years and became head alter boy and lay preacher till I was 21.Also in 1982 I actually met the Pope John Paul II when he came to our city when he did a big tour of Europe and he actually bestowed a Knighthood of Columbus on my grandfather and he kissed the Fishermans ring. Name calling is just a childish response to someone elses viewpoint. If you carry on..I will take steps to remove your account..you have been warned!!!!

This is how I use my space here..I use it as a sandbox for things i am making for people, I jsut make a new folder under the Public_Html folder then point a free domain name such as .co.nr or uni.cc at it so that the customer can see it live on the net then when its all 100% fine I will move the files over to thier domain and scrub the copy I keep over here (ofc keeping local backups) and then go onto the next site I am working on.(sorry about the formatting of this post!!! its a new "feature" of the forum upgrade that seems to wrap text around)

Well I guess you could aim this question with anyone that allies themselves with any religion. My own personal viewpoint is that ALL organised religion is wrong and used as control tool on the "worshippers" some religions leavering this tool more heavy than others.I also think that to say that your "Muslim" or "Catholic" for instance is pretty pointless unless you know a hell of lot about the topic in question, and read the "holy" book of that religion and are putting the views of that book into your daily life and doing everything in your power to live according to the "rules" of that religion.

The reason I bring this up is because of all the sheer useless posts in the gaming forums. As a moderator I kinda get sick trying to keep an eye on all the crappy posts that mainly new users post in the gaming side of the forums. To me these are "Cheap" posts and a lot of people spam one liners on this side of the forums to gain credits only to find that when they post a request to be hosted that they are denied.Trap 17 has a gaming forum which is also filled with endless debates about how much Runescape sucks or how much Halo "roxers" does Xisto need this kind of stuff in the forum here as well?My suggestion is NO!! I would lock the gaming forum and point people to Xisto if they want to post about games. So what do the rest of the Asta users think?Marky;)

I have never seen the exact error that your getting before but Ive done a bit of digging around for you and Ive come up with this page http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It seems it could be something to do with the COM db being at fault. Follow those instructions on how to remove and rebuild the COM db and hopefully you should be ok

Ok I found this today on Engadget. http://translate.google.com/translate?u=htFlanguage_tools Im soo into Steampunk and the idea of "old" new technology. OK the laptop cant really  be used as a laptop cos I bet its not too happy to be bagged up and slung over your shoulder but as a decorative working object of art..its pretty amazing! I bet with out much hacking around with it you could have any make of model of laptop inside the shell. What do you think guys? Marky;)

Thanks for that little review, gosh almost sounds like you work for them or something.I doubt "thier" hosting plans would be of any interest to most Xisto users. Most of the people that are looking at this forum go with https://xisto.com/ for their paid hosting.Computing host offers a whole raft of different paid services..check them out

I have been behind this idea for a long time, and one that I would like to push forward even more ( the mods and admins had a thread about this going in the staff section a while ago) but unfortunately the admins have been very busy recently with the upgrades to Trap and Asta.Hopefully now all the upgrades are running 100% tweaks can be thought about and implemented. There is a way to check your post credits..but only after you post, you can do this by checking your credits then posting then check again, but it’s a bit of longwinded way of doing it.@ vitorious yes some of the posts get out of hand because sometimes people don’t really read or analyze what’s been posted before. Also duplicate topics are a pain to control, for instance constant posts about basically the same subject, people would rather make a new topic and gain credits than do a search and find out what they have posted about has already been covered at length in another post.My two cents..Marky;)

No probs Gin..were all here to help each other out and help ourselves out with one of the best hosting packages on the net there is esp now all the upgrades have been handled! The Xisto network goes from strength to strength and our social network gets better too!Marky;)P.S. did the last campaign you were running work out for you?

Matching Sound To Animations In Flash
Markymark2 replied to lacking_imagination's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
Well I visited the site that you keep referring to in all of your posts..and I must say there’s nothing there that impresses me at all.If I look at the HTML in their page it makes me laugh so much I almost cry ;)The page is just a block of tables, it was probably done in MS word or Go Live which as a designer really doesn’t inspire any confidence in their understanding of programming languages. They really don’t understand the web colour palette because there are 36 errors where they keep specifying colours on each table that don’t actually exist! The CSS is also failing any validation because again it’s full of basic errors.Their portfolio is just full of mockups made probably in Photoshop to make it look there’s a site there when there really isn’t.Also I would love to know what the hell is a Web2.0 banner? anyone?Just looks like they are jumping on the completely meaningless term of Web2.0 without knowing what they are doing! So I really wouldn’t use these people for any work at all because if they can’t even code their own webpage properly what sort of job will they do you for you when you are paying them money?Probably just another 15 year old kid that thinks he can make a business out of this.My two cents... -
Your Opinion On Dreamweaver What is it?
Markymark2 replied to SileZigns's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
I must say that after many years not using Dreamweaver and using text editors like Notepad++ I have been swayed to come back to the latest version of Dreamweaver. What I have always liked about it is the fact if you set your sites up properly in the site manager and have something like Xammp running the exact same versions of Apache and PHP its very easy to test CMS systems locally.I use Joomla a lot on production sites that I make and I got sick and tired of connecting to the net to change things.I still use Notepad++ all the time with Dreamweaver cos I am just so used to using it, I tend to do all the easy graphical stuff in Dreamweaver I love the fact that you can just drag and drop stuff your working on in Photoshop into Dreamweaver but then switch to Notepad++ if I have any problems with the code. For me mistakes jump out of the page at me in Notepad++ but the code view in Dreamweaver is not so good. But I do love the FTP functions that Dreamweaver offers, but again there is still limitations in what the FTP part can do so I tend to go back to Bulletproof FTP to set permissions etc etc.I hope that when Adobe get their act together they will release kind of an ultimate design package that has Photoshop/Image Ready/Fireworks/Illustrator and Dreamweaver all built together in one seamless package. This would cut down down the overhead on your pc of having all these things open at one time I hope.On my laptop I tend to have to close Illustrator to be able to open Photoshop otherwise it will start crashing when I copy and paste stuff from one to the other. -
Well you pointed it out in the first place. Let me give you a little history lesson, because obviously the “Yank” education system has left you deeply lacking in history education as well as spelling When you say WW1 are you reffering to the Great War ? 1914-1918? when the Us of A played both sides for nearly 4 years to see who would win? then stepped in in the dying months of the war in 1918? Or was world war two when the "Yanks" came into the war right at the end (are you starting to notice the pattern?) when the British and the Russians had done all the hard work and millions of us had died, and just like every war the Us of A has got involved with since..they were only there to get something in return, this time it was Nazi rocket scientists and securing bases in central Europe, and not barrels of oil...and by doing that the good ole US of A created the cold war. So many of us Europeans actually ask the question did we need them to win? the answer with hindsight is actually NO. Care to carry on this argument? I could go on all day )))))))
-
@Silverfox Well I think it was only 100 soldiers that the UK were short of at the time..if the ships had landed on time and not got caught up in the bad weather in the atlantic I firmly think that the US of A would still be under our control ;)And I know the world would be a better place for it

Quick answer this one! NO!!! its got tobe the WORST AV product on the market..do not use this garbage people..again over the weekend I rescued a laptop well and truly shafted by Norton.I really cant understand why anyone would use this garbage! Also now virus writers are making virus to hit Norton alone because of the crappy way it works..or doesnt work to protect your systems.

Ok sounds nasty!OK Im going to list things that I would try..they are not really in any order...What happens if you disconnect the motherboard powerlines from the powersupply then hit the switch? my guess is the same problem?Do you have any kind of warning LEDS on the motherboard itself? some makes like ASUS have LEDS that light up to give you an error code you can find on the models pdf handbook from the site..These error reports are normally pretty vague but can help out..Do you have extra memory in the upgrade slots? have you tried working out which is the main bank of memory and then take out the extended memory? is it the same? now try swapping the ram chips over so your testing the extended ram in the main bank slot?Have you got a voltmeter in the house? get that and two paperclips and bend the clips around the voltmeter probes..Unhook every connection to the Hard drives etc and then put the probes in the connectors that you unplugged..line up the black with the black ofc then use the red probe to measure the voltages on the other pins of the connector..do this while hitting the button..is there 12V and 5V present? You say you have an old pc handy that you ripped the switch out of? how about ripping the whole psu out? and then hooking it up beside your broken pc and then replace all the connections over to the old powersupply and see what happens? this would be a sure 100% way to prove its not the powersupply at fault.Hopefully you can get it back to life!!IF not I think your looking at a new powersupply or maybe a new motherboard..the Hard drives and pci cards should be ok (crosses fingers)Marky;)
