  1. study this!Direct , Constant VariationWrite an equation of variation for y = 30 when x = 5, where y varies inversely as x. An equation of the form y = k/x expresses inverse variation. Substitute the values of x and y to find k. 30 = k/5 Solve to find k. Multiply both sides by 5. 150 = k So, the equation of variation is, y = 150/x

  4. Seeking "mammon" is the root of all kinds of evilFor You Is Money The Root Of All Evil? This is essentially the New Covenant (New Testament) analogue to "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". Here's my (incomplete) proof (several assumptions based on biblical teachings follow, so to follow those who don't believe must suspend disbelief for a moment): Starting with the assumption that God is light (1st John). It follows that evil/Satan is darkness. What is darkness but LACK of light? God is love (1st John 4). It follows that evil/Satan is hate. What is hate but LACK of love? God is good. It follows that evil/Satan is bad. What is bad but LACK of good? God is life. It follows that evil/Satan is death. What is death but LACK of life? God is everything. It follows that evil/Satan is nothing. What is nothing but LACK? To summarize: God is light, love, good. God is everything. Everything is light (energy) as Einstein shows in the famous equation E=MC2. Basically, all matter is just energy bundled in particular patterns. Everything is good. There is no inherent evil in any physical object or in light. But evil exists. How so? Evil is nothing, as shown above. Evil is "no thing". Yet evil exists. If evil exists, but nothing physical is evil, then evil must be an idea. And if God is everything, everywhere, present, full, good, love, and light, then evil is nothing, nowhere, absent, empty, darkness, and loneliness - all ideas speaking to LACK of something. So sin/evil/Satan is the idea of LACK. Those who seek to "own" or "possess" things do so out of a sense that there is a LACK of resources, money, love, etc. In this mindset, I have to "get mine" before someone else gets it, because there's only so much to go around. I can be rich or poor and still not be wealthy. True wealth is understanding that there is no LACK. There is light and love and joy in every situation, in every place in the universe. Nature abhors a vacuum - there is a reason for that. Everything is full. A person begins to behave in "sinful" ways when they believe in LACK, or begin to disbelieve in FULLNESS. There is no LACK. There is only the idea of lack, and the behaviors that this idea drives (greed). I like this line from the song "Tattoo" - "Can't look back, give it a moment / I realize that NOTHING IS BROKEN". Nothing is broken. Emptiness is broken. Loneliness is broken. Hate is broken. Death is broken. But, from a different perspective, Nothing is broken; "broken" is just an excuse not to do the work to fix something or to realize that even "broken" things can still be used, even if for something else. That's convoluted, but it's where I'm at. Paul writes that he "thinks himself happy". When we "rejoice in all things", we seek the good in every situation; and there is good in every situation. It just takes vision to see it. -reply by Jason
  5. most people ramble on about san andreasd is the best, well I realy could not get into it, for one the main color pallet they used seems to be brown for some perquliar reason, it was so big everywhere looked the same to me, all brown, all the music was rap or western, which I am not a fan of either, nor did I like the whole hip hop imag, I cant realy put a finger on the reason why I do not like it, vice city I realy liked, I don't know whether it is larger than gta 3 or not but it was just so easy to get about, its definitely not the biggest game but there was variety in the scenery, such as little havana, the beachfront at night was very beatiful and such, the music was also great. ok grand theft auto 3 was definitely the game stat started it all, was good when it came out and still is fun now 4 is good but I kind of wish it wasnt set in new york again, maybe tokyo would have been fun, or paris, maybe even china, but it was a fine game. -reply by fluffydo
  6. This can be done if you can spend the time & money to design and implement itHow Do I Mirror A Website?Replying to DeveloperXI thought the questioner was looking for a solution that involvesA)DNS entries that can be changed in the event of a disaster like ahurricane so a request to the site will be sent to an alternate host. Ibelieve there may be a way to set up DNS to point to a list ofpotential server sites, but this is far from my areas of expertise.B)some method to allow the alternate sites to stay synchronized with the'main' site. This could be as simple as manually or by schedule (daily, hourly, minute) dumping all the content from site A to standby copysites at different locations. This approach (the automatic one) can getcomplex and difficult to manage. It takes a lot of careful planning anddecision making about what is important, how important it is ($$$), andwhat it will cost to implement.A fully 'mirrored'disaster-ready site would actually consist of multiple sites doing theuser interactions and sharing a set of databases or files located atseveral sites. No single site is 'the site'; under "normal" use and under disaster conditions, the "site"would continue to operate pretty much the same way as long as therewere at least one 'presentation' site and one site with the db and/orfiles that are available. Modern DBs have "real time"replication mechansisms that can help with the problem, but writablefiles are a different issue --- you site should probably try to avoidthe use of any writable files and do all writing into the db.Thereis no generally useful ready made out-of-the box easy solution that Iam aware of. If you are willing to live with a somewhat degraded site... Say with a warning that there was a disaster and that this is thestandby site and it may not be entirely up to date, then this isprobably pretty do-able with some simply site copying and dnsmanipulation.-reply by Dave A

  8. just ridiculous...Paypal ScamI got this exact email as well. As I speak French and lived in France when I set up my PayPal account, I was at first tempted to believe that this email was legit. I clicked on the link, wondering what was going on with my PayPal account, and I began filling in my information. Good thing I had a bad feeling about it. I never submitted the info. That could have been disastrous. It was only then that I noticed the url for the link. It started with Techboss.Com. So...That did not seem right to me. I went to the real PayPal website (in French) to compare, and sure enough, the pages looked almost identical, it just had one missing link at the bottom of the page. It was a pretty decent effort on their part, I have to say. I bet a lot of French-speakers have been scammed with it. And, of course, there are tons of those scam emails in English, too. Better be careful. Anyway, I ended up forwarding the email on to spoof@paypal.Com to let them know about it. -reply by Erica

  12. pluto not a planet?Pluto No Longer A Planet But Is Called A "dwarf" PlanetOk, if pluto isnt a planet cancel out all the other ''dwarf planets'' in the kuiper belt. If pluto isnt a planet stop calling it a dwarf planet just call it something else. The greek definition of planet is wanderer. Ok pluto is wandering. Until we have the real definition of planet than we cant decide yet. I think pluto should be aplanet because its in our solar system. I know you are all gonna say what about meteors, what about meteors. I know IAU is the only union allowed to name planets and grade them. There might be a planet thatis made of solid rock out in the kuiper belt. But we don't know. I'm 11 years old. When I have an astronomy quiz about naming the planets in order from the sun I add pluto and eris and everyone says pluto is not a planet. So I stand up and say give me the definition of a planet no reply why is it we cant add pluto as a planet. People say its not a big deal. I want people to know whats a planet or not so if they ever have a quiz they know what to put down instead of guessing and think but nothing comes through. I would also like to add that astronomy is being taken out and being put in to school people in the future it will be like the past guessing whats out there but not knowing the real facts. Thank you for your time for reading this piece I'm sorry if my spelling is off PLEASE READ-reply by ryan
  13. Xisto - Web Hosting.com hosting plans are affordable, customer support is very goodWeb Hosting Testimonials Before I came to know about Xisto - Web Hosting.Com hostnig plans, I had purchased various hosting plans from other hosting providers. But I was not fully satisfied. I had somewhat problems for some reasons. At Xisto - Web Hosting.Com, I feel at total ease. All plans are affordable ones, that is one of the reasons I am planning on a longer run with Xisto - Web Hosting. It has all plans for all needs, from small sites to large sites. Bottomline is, their plans are very competitive and affordable ones. I couldn't find any other hosting providers offering such lucrative plans. I would give 5 out of 5 for cheap hosting plans. Second thing, I like about Xisto - Web Hosting is their Customer Service. They have this Live Help too. Mostly, I don't any problems but sometimes I see my sites down for just couple of seconds or sometimes few minutes. If I get to notice them at the moment, I talk to them through email, live help or telecon, and I get the immediate solution. Sometimes, even before our telecon is over, solution is obtained. As I've my sites running on shared hosting, I get to see Sql downtime sometimes, and not always. But the customer care is outstanding. I'm a man of words. So I always feel that there should be reliable persons at the other side, who has listening and understanding power and at the same time skills of solving a problem fast. Xisto - Web Hosting has it all. I would give 5 out of 5 for their customer service too. Please note that, I have had various experiences with customer cares of other hosting providers and my rating is depending upon that. They provide cPanel with lots of features. Truly happy with that too. My message to all those struggling webmasters, who do not have big budgets for their small-medium websites, Xisto - Web Hosting is the right choice. Once you get in, you won't get out. Now, to some people this might seem like a post from Xisto - Web Hosting member himself, but believe me guys, this is just because I am so happy with their hosting. Otherwise, I'm one of the big critics anyone can find! I don't appreciate anyone just for its sake. And I would like to thank Shridhar from Xisto - Web Hosting for being so attentive over telecon Good luck guys.
  14. yes PE explorer is a great and easy way to edit EXEs ,and can also recomplie back to exe (most of the time without corruping it). Problem is it's like $100 after the 30 day trial... Unless you find a way to hack it. I tried hacking out the trial triggers with the program itself, but obviously their very smart about hiding it well. Considering the program they made. other then that, you can bypass buying it by reinstalling your OS (winxp vista etc) . . . but yes, you can do a lot with PE Explorer for about 30 days.

  16. Get a life , puhh leease,Annoying Parents! You guys are pathetic , honestly. My cousin complained about this exact same thing. You know why his parents treated him like this? He was a loser. Never did any work around the house. Didn't clean up after himself. He always asked for games , and useless crap. Never washed his dishes , and never did his homework. Locked himself in his room to go on his computer , looking up God knows what. Either you guys are pathetic losers , or angsty idiot teenagers. How would you feel if you had a kid with no motives? You're constantly cleaning up after him/her. Doing his/her laundry , washing her/his dishes , knowing that he/her is failing. He'd always complain and complain , saying that his parents are such *BLEEP*s , and privacy ruiners. Give me a break. He pretty much scarfed everything in their fridge , and asked his parents to get him whatever game or computer thing he wanted. If they didn't get him what he wanted , he'd cry. You really got to fend for yourself when going up against your parents. You see , whether you like it or not , you have their genes , and you live under their roof , and you take half of their pay check. My advice , to stop living like a mooch off , and get REAL. -reply by MauiMuscleKeywords:

  18. On SiegeAge Of Empires Or Starcraft?Forgive me for necromancing. People who say that one of AoE's flaws is that siege units have a longer range than defensive structures have definitely never experienced a Guardian, Reaver, Siege Tank or Yamato Gun. And I think that it's very balancing to have that anyway--if people just turtle, it'll be VERY difficult to knock down their defensive structures (never mind their army) without proper siege units. The game will drag out for a long time, and will probably stalemate. If trebuchets taking down towers is a problem, just garrison a few units, or have a mobile strikeforce of Paladins/Hussars/Cavalry Archers/Cataphracts/Mangudai/etc. Roaming about taking down trebs. Part of playing an RTS is that you have to pay attention--not just lean back and say "Ah, my base will take care of itself now. Where'd that beer go?" -reply by TMa

  20. Linux this and remote that... making life hard on yerself. I have a 7 computer home network. 3 for the kids, 1 in the livingroom, 1 each for my wife and I, and #7 is the router. 7 is nothins special or super, just a 500MHZ P3 with WinXp sp3 and 256mb ram. 4 pci slots allow for internet in, and 2 out for my wife an I, wired with a crossover cables, and the other feeds a switch upstairs for the rest. Win Xp networking, internet connection sharing, and a network bridge (thankyou winXP) make it all come to life. UltraVNC, a free remote Admin tool (google it) allows me to work on ANY computer in the house while sitting at my pc. Keep track of the kids, pc maintainance, everything. We are grtting ready to add #8 to the entertainment center in the livingroom for .AVI video on demand. The kids already have it in their rooms, servered form #7, and they love it, and no more DVD's lost, broken, or scattered. There may be other ways to do it, but none of them is "best." Just know that it isn't really that difficult.
  21. if you do not believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, came to this earth to die for every human's each individual sin, then you cannot be a christian. You can't rely on God if you don't even believe that he sent his son to die for all of us. (I'm saying this in no disrespectful way, just as information). you are right about the muslim's and jew's belief about Jesus. however, the reason christianity is set apart from all religions (Allah, Buddha, etc.) is the fact that Jesus Christ did not only die for our sins on the cross, but ROSE AGAIN on the third day. This implies that Christ conquered death. No other religion has this belief. Muhammad, buddha, and every other religious God were either mortal men or never even existed, unlike Jesus Christ who was 100% man and 100% God. And if we believe with our hearts, confess with our mouths that Christ is Lord and died for me, you, and every human who has ever lived. then we may have eternal life with Christ in heaven! God Bless!

Yes at the time I was interested in getting $10 off my next purchase at that particular site, but I was not interested in paying $12 per month for some chintzy savings. Had I known that I was to be charged $12 per month I would have never signed up. ReservationRewards.Com are scammers. 23. Auto Clicker for DarkthroneDarkthronehey, I made an autoclicker for darkthrone unlike most others and I've been wanting to get it out there for awhile. It doesn't physically "click" on the button, I found that it was problematic because then you couldn't really use your computer for the 20-ish minutes it took to click 375 times. So I made a program that can run in the background and will do all your clicking for you.
  24. Seriously? VB.NET: MS-Access Interaction Tutorial (Part I)Really? You put the functions up here and then just say "eh, I'll leave everyone hanging on how to implement these controls." Why do you even have this here? I appreciate the effort, was low on explanation, but good on giving a path to follow, but why would you put a tutorial up here that you were too lazy to finish. Yes, I'm picking at that, I've done tutorials myself in different applications but I never posted stuff that wasn't finished. It only got posted when all segments were done. All you've done here is waste my time now. Good failure, basically all you did was copy/paste code in here, add some text like your teaching, and then you said "I'm too lazy". -reply by Discouraged
