Acer LaptopAcer LaptopI have an Acer laptop bought from UAE. At first, it doesn't have problems when I was using it. But after one year had passed, I encountered the most annoying problem of my laptop. It turns off inappropriate, I don't know why. Even I had a cooler and electric fan just to cool my laptop, it still turns off. When I tried to open it again, It opens but turns off again. I checked the adapter and I saw that maybe there's a problem with my power supply. It turns orange, then to color green then nothing. With or without a battery, still having problems to it. I prefer hp, toshiba, touchmate, neo as one of the good laptop brands (in my own opinion). Hi, I have recently purchased a phenom 9650 quad core with asus motherboard. My computer just turns off (not restart) suddenly for many times. This is not during gaming or something power hungry application. It turns off any time without any warning . Sometimes the machine running smoothly for many hours without any problem but after that the same problem occurs. another weird problem is that when power goes off (power cuts) my machine turns off without any backup from my ups but I checked my ups with another machine that it is giving almost 8 minutes backup with 17 inch crt monitors. I suspect that this porblem is related to power supply unit (SMPS) so I send it for service. Can you help me to understand the problem? -- PK (India)

I was born in new zealand and have lived here my whole life. The thing is, I'm Korean and that is all the people here see. There are kids in my school that reckon my feelings don't matter. Of course I have my friends but they're not that good at being there for me apart from only a handful. The new term is starting tomorrow but I have come up with a kind of way to dealing with this. Stare them up and down and then look away as if disgusted, laugh at THEM- but don't go OTT and stuff like that that make THEM feel like the loser. Not me. Not sure if it matters, but cat is normally used for text - for binary I would use dd. Basic syntax would be 'dd if=/path/to/iso/file.Iso of=/dev/sdx#' but you may need a few options after that, see if the man page shows an example. Note the it uses the /dev/sdx# and NOT the mount point, so the partition does not even have to be mounted - make sure you have the right partition... -reply by Marshall

I ma be the only one in the world with this opinion, but I thought Halo 1 was extremely boring, the level design was extremely repetitive, specifically those round gray rooms. I thought the game's story was great, and deserved a better game to execute it, or perhaps a movie. I left wondering THIS is what all the hype is about? I'm currently playing Halo 2, and I am having a lot more fun playing it. I gives more insight into the covenents culture, more options with the weapons ( so you never have that "damn I should have picked up that sniper/rocket, didn't think I would need it" feeling), more vehicles more often. It took everything right from the first game and took out everything wrong. It still doesn't deserve quite as much hype, but its closer. -reply by user

They switched to KFC a while back when the whole health crazy came around, KFC looks healthier than Kentucky FRIED Chicken... It's not the frying part the problem with KFC, it's that it's fried in pressure cooker... Frying chicken or turkey at the right temp, the oil will never get absorbed, but if you put it in a pressure chamber the oil gets absorbed completely... My daughter got a bad staff infection in her leg and it has already hit the bone. She has been going to the doctor alot for it and once they seen it the other day they didn't want to touch it at all because it was so down to the bone. It was drained by the doctor and herself and as of yesterday she told me that there was nothing else coming out of it but that it doesn't look good to her. The doctor has her on an antibotic so it might be kinda of helping if there is nothing else coming out of it. As of this monday after this weekend if it isnt looking better by monday then she will go into the hospital to have an iv put into her arm. The problem I do not understand is why in the heck if it was getting this bad didnt they put a wick in it and have her come in every six hours into the er and have it changed out as well. My husbands cousin got a staff infection on his wrist and they put a wick in it and had in him come in every five to six hours to have a wick put in and tooken out so that it would drain. The only thing I can think of is that the reason the doctors didnt put a wick in my daughters wound is because it is already to the bone. My suggestion to anyone who gets a staff infection or mrsa infection to go to the doctor and have it drained by them and don't do it yourself unless your told how to do it the right way. I am only assuming because my daughter used a knife to drain it that it may of caused it to get worse when she pulled the scab off to drain it. it is very gross and yuck to discuss. I am so worried about my daughter's infection I hope soon it will go away. It almost looks like a bad spider bite that can be deadly but this is only a staff infection because they ran a culture on it and it came back a staff infection. The only thing I can say to anyone is that if you think you cant ever get a staff infection think again because it can happen and I am seeing my poor daughter who has one and I think she got it from another friend who had it and my daughter didn't realize the outcome of the staff untill now. I been very much talking to my daughter about staff infection and how to try to avoid another one in the near future. I really think that staff infection should be discussed as a major thing in school for students just like they discuss other things. -reply by private
