I use Windows and Linux because..What Made You Switch To Linux?I use both windows and linux because they are both powerful operating systems.I have always been a windows user since my dad got the first computer for the family. It was Windows 95. I loved playing around with it. I broke it several times, but thats how I learned. I started using Linux in my early 20's because Windows started to get boring.I wanted something that you had to learn to understand , I really didnt want my interests in computer systems to just be Windows.Thats where Linux pretty much attracts me. It's something that you have to learn and really take time to fully be aware of what it can do. I don't like any Linux GUI's (Although I did modify an Ubuntu Gnome desktop to look all black and shiny; pretty much by customizing every aspect of the desktop look. But I quickly got bored of customizing desktop looks)I am using Ubuntu 10.04 Server Edition with no GUI. Just pure terminal and that is how I like it. I use it as a webserver for my home projects and I learn every day when I use it. I like that Linux users are proud but you have to understand the way Microsoft works when they take out newer OS's. They basically make their systems heavier so that people have to Upgrade their systems. Thats where Microsofts and Intels partnership binds. All hardware companies and software companies profit from newer Windows versions.My preferred Windows System is XP. If you are a professional user like me, Windows wont fail on you. I've already learned me lessons as a kid about how to prevent viruses on Windows.Needless to say, I believe both systems have their strong points. Both have their weak points. Everyone has their own cup of coffee.For people who are looking into trying Linux, I suggest you basically try different types of Linux distributions. Download many Distro's and play around with them, see which one is easy to grasp for you. If you pressure yourself to understand those difficult ones that don't have much support pages online then you will find yourself quitting. I suggest you try Ubuntu. it was actually an experience of my classmate, when we are waiting outside our next room for our next class b'coz there are still classes that are going on there, and then after a couple of minutes of waiting there, students now are starting to go out from the room, then my classmate entered the room immediately even if there are still few students and even the teacher is still there, then what happened is the teacher noticed her and scolded her in front of other students, telling this: "Don't you have manners? You could see that there is still teacher in here. Next time, wait first for the teacher to go outside before entering the room."

Two years ago I made the switch from QWERTY to Dvorak. I typed a fair number of hundreds of keystrokes a minute before the switch. The two first weeks were frustrating, but now I'm faster than ever, more accurate than ever, more comfortable than ever, and I'm never going back.

I have windows 7 . Not long ago I tried to download an enhanced photo viewer.When it would not install , I tried adjusting some things...And evidently messed up bigtime. Now it seems Windows Media Center has hijacked whatever it is that starts applications and programs...I can get around it somehow , but theWindows Media Center Icon is on several programs on my start menu...Also Photo Viewer has latched on to some...MediaCenter tries to come on whenever I trie to use an exe file ...And/or maybe dll...But I can not figure out how to reverse whatever I did. Evidently my restore points have not been happening, so that I can not go back to before I fiddled with things...And I can not find my disc..I tried adjusting everything back to defaults and that did not change it back. I looked for a way to uninstall Windows Media Center, but could not find any options for that. It is interfering with my life! If it could facilitate starting and running my programs I would not mind it being the control center...But it can not so I am stuck in a weird state on the computer until I close it and jump onto something else quickly to try to get somewhere before it takes over the screen and interrupts me again... Does anyone understand this problem? Could anyone have ideas I could try to get Media Center back in it's place and the other programs and applications functioning as they should? Car forums, Video car forums, ...Detergent forums. I have used Notepad ++ for a very long time in both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu- using Wine). Why I prefer Notepad ++: The primary reason is because I have simply gotten used to it. It's in all of my OS'es altho I do use Vi in the Ubuntu Server because ubuntu server has no GUI. Sorry dude but you will simply have to use Notepad ++ under Wine and modify your Linux shell to make this your default editor (as much as that sucks). But Notepadd ++ is developed to work specifically for windows and therefor you cannot simply install it Linux until the actual developers write the entire program to use in Linux/Unix systems. Same Problem here, your not alone... How did you find where the file was though? Mine gives very little information on the file besides that it is named "John" and asking what to open it with, I didn't see a file size or any of that.

Blizzard is hundreds of people, all with different views on what should be done to/about people on private servers. World of Warcraft is/was no easy game no create, expand, and retain (Fixing bugs, copyright issues, stuff like that) And you can get the full version of WoW on their site for free, or borrow a friend's disc and install from it. (These methods require a guest pass key to use however, but they are free (To give away.)) Or just buy the disc. But none of those give them justice for the money involved in all of this, so most people at Blizzard aren't just going to go "Yeah, steal from us en masse, who cares?" If Blizzard will be mad, knows about it, (Remember, blizzard isn't a person) or will take action on you, is mostly a grey, just like the legality of it all. hey, it's only illegal if they catch you.

Starcraft could REALLY use some major updating, for example, me, a 14 year old kid, figured out how to prevent most hacks, just have the game scan it's program files and remove anything that isn't blizzard approved also to make it even better, if any of the blizzard approved files have been altered, just replace them with files from the bnet update server. I agree with you guys on the map editor, that could use an update too, like for example, if you could make locations player owned, then the map creation process would go so much faster, the creator wouldn't have to change the location for every trig for every player, just make one location category, such as a spawn category, and then whichever locations the current player owns in that category, will have the actions happen to it, if you get what I mean. Also a couple of trig actions are JUST PLAIN BROKEN! For example, the remove kills action simply doesn't work, along with the AI trigs you guys have mentioned. So now to create a kills for mins trig we have to resort to the death counter, which isn't always the most ideal solution. Also in the map editor there is one action called modify hangar bay, unfortunatley though the only modifications you can make are adding scarabs/interceptors, you can't set the number of scarabs and interceptors, and you can't remove scarabs and interceptors.. these problems have prevented a lot of maps from being created, not just by me, but by the whole map making community.

VPC-hack is actually a rip off, of an old(2006-2007) game similar to Slavehack called Nethack, it's creator SilverFox gave out the source under the condition of the name and theme not being used.From a strictly out-side-user viewpoint it seems as if VPC-hack is currently down, and will be down for some time.From a coders, and a previous friend to the "developers" of VPChack, the game isn't worth the time to play it, it's horrible code(newly written), the code base is good but with the additions they have made it fails as a game.

The fact is, folks used to be able to Google suggestions very easily, but now with all the Hijack (jackoff) logs mucking up the entire web, it can be a virtually endless world of replicated newsfeeds with the same stinkin jackoff log posted in about a million different places, and our friend GOOGLE thinks we need to see each and every one of them. Google increasingly sucks and shows hits based on business models/political motivations instead of accuracy.
