Vista has a wireless internet connection from my router, I have a seperate WinXP desktop connected. How do I get ICS to enable so that the desktop gets internet too?How To Do ICS Through Wireless?Ive been trying for the past 2 and a half hours to get ICS enabled on my wireless Vista Home, internet enabled laptop so it can share the connection with my XP Pro desktop but ICS keeps on bringing up the error message that "an error has occured whilst ICS was being enabled" Its really pissing me off! - Ive tried changing IP addresses on both computers. I live in a shared house of 4 other people so in the IP address, Ive used 192.168.0.11 or 192.168.0.12 just to make sure there arnt any ip conflicts with any other potential users in the house. It doesnt make any difference though. It still comes up with the same message, plus the laptops internet connection doesnt stay connected because it turns into a new static address. Ive then looked at what the actual address it uses when it get the IP automatically and Ive used that address as a static one to see if it makes a difference. It doesnt. It still loses connection to the internet Ive tried changing the address on just the XP computer to a static address...Again considering other internet users so I keep the last digits to higher numbers to make sure their are no IP conflicts and and keeping the address set as DHCP automatic, the same as it would be normally on the laptop and again...Same error message. ***? What does it take just to do this? Its not supposed to be rocket science. Just a simple internet connection using another computer. Clues: If I look into "my network places" on the XP desktop computer, its has found my other computers share folfers but they are the "unknown file type" symbols that you get when you computer doesnt know what the file is associated with. Again...***? Theyre simple folders. They arent programme files that need to be associated with another programme...This is confusing me and its effecting my sanity. YES! two tones like a Paris police car? I had that this week. Friend brought over his computer because the processor fan went out. He was using a house fan with the side cover off to keep it cool, but it kept shutting down.After reinstalling windows, the machine gave me an error code that it wanted to restart because "machine was not shut down correctly due to overheating". But, only once, on the second reboot after the clean install. Why? I have no idea, but I'm banking on that was the reason his comp wasn't working right.I have replaced the cooling fan and reinstalled windows and it runs good now ( win xp pro on an E-machine).What happened was it gave me the two tones when I rebooted the machine, and it would shut down after being turned on for less than 5 seconds.Hope this helps.Bob

hey Curt, Been checking out what you have done so far and I'm impressed...Looks great in my opinion altho I havent really checked out the inside of the game itself the looks are great. Anyways I was wondering if the McCodes really helped you at all because I have been looking to create a text based rpg myself but one that goes into great detail such as advancing through different time periods as you progress. (EG: Medieval Age, Current Age, Space Age). With units changing as you progress through each age. Its alot of work but if you could offer any help I would greatly appreciate it. Just a personal experience with Moneybookers that I should nshare for all unsuspecting victims of this scam company. Sure, you can transfer funds from Paypalto Moneybookers, but what Moneybookers doesn't tell you when you sign up with them is that they can hold those transfers for up to 40 days and do so without warning. This just happened to me. I am an Ebay seller with over 700 positive feedbacks. My feedback score is 100% positive. Moneybookers took the money that was paid me through Ebay and gave me a 50% settlement within 4 days and are holding the rest for 40 days!.They say it is because I am a new customer and must "prove" myself to them...Something they neglected to tell me when they were wooing my business. Yeah - bots. I tried a bot which was highly recommended by an ingame friend. Paid only $13 for it. Ran the bot off and on for about three weeks. The thing updated itself a couple times. I was feeling comfortable with it - then I tried to log in, only to find that my password no longer worked. None of the bots are safe, unless you take them apart, and search for potential bad stuff. Turned out my "authentication" process at log in time was actually saving my name and password on the "authenticating" server. Enjoy your bots. I've followed some suggestions with trying to bridge at desktop, but it won't let me. I can get the laptop to pick up the router with strong signal, but of course no internet connection. I Haven't played this 7th Saga game yet but it sounds kind of stressful. Taking two years to get past one part, banging your head against the wall, and one mistake ruining the whole game? I think I am going to sample it out of mere curiosity, but it does sound like a title for a video game masochist. Anyways, everyone else said all of my faves already. My personal fave though is probably Super Mario RPG. Good story, great graphics, challenging but not impossible, imaginative, fun minigames, the list goes on. HeyaAs a reply to why do people smoke.I understand which side you're coming from and all that, but here's a point of view from a smoker.I've been smoking for about 5 years now, and I enjoy it. Don't ask me WHY exactly I enjoy it, because it's a long story.You get annoyed by people who just go into a restaurant and smoke in the non smoking section. That's illegal, so those people can get into trouble. In my country, you're not allowed to smoke in the non smoking section, and there are specific smoking sections for those of us who wish to have a cigarette before or after a meal. Now my question is, why do people HATE smokers so much? I mean, I don't walk around, blowing smoke into everyone's face; I smoke in a smoking section or at home. And then people still look at me strangely. I came to the argument today that smoking and drinking is the same. Both is bad for you, but people still allow drinking because it relaxes you and it's fun to have a drink with someone and whatnotBut it's the same with smoking. It's bad for you, just as alcohol, and a lot of people enjoy having a quick smoke or having a smoke with a friend etc.I think it's a matter of opinion. I understand what you mean that you get annoyed with smokers, but is it really necessary to say that you hate smokers?I'm not that bad, and I'm a smoker?

My choice(s) of Multimedia players....Best Multimedia Players For WindowsVLC...Seems to have potential and be very multifunctional, but I just can't get used to the boxy Interface...It is certainly one of the ugliest players. My top 5 in no particular order 1) KMPLAYER ...A toss up between that and 2)Zoom Home Max 7.0. Both are multifunctional and play 99% of the video formats/containers out there. I watch alot of anime which comes in a wide variety of media files ...Mkv, .Ogm, .Avi, are the major ones. I would have to go with 3) Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Mark II Ultra 3D (though not quite as versatile and very pricey...But the picture is amazing...4) another lesser known, but phenomenal player is the java-based "Kantaris" the picture is as good as any I have seen and if you're a fan of the Kmplayer interface than give this a go. 5) Lastly, having 3 external drives, and approx. 2.3 TB of video files can be a hassle to load onto a playlist and forget it. That and the fact that it seems to be the most hassle free media player due to a simple yet very sharp interface...The 5) AVS Player is definitely worth a mention. It loaded my 4897 video files quicker than I could navigate to the next drive...Not to mention the playlist sorts the files better than any player I have used thus far. Add a professional quality designed interface and excellent HD and this is one of the best newer players in a while. MOST OVERRATED PLAYERS : (In my opinion) 1) The BS player (Although it does do quite a bit...Which preschool was commissioned to come up with 101 skins drawn on wet napkins with crayons?) really ...Not to mention even BS player Pro only loaded 2-300 of all my media files onto a playlist and it found everything from 2 second chirping files to icons I have never seen before...But the critics seem to LOVE it...Probably all those useless functions. It can play streaming video from all over the web but can't find a movie on your hard drive. It certainly lives up to its name. 2) WINAMP...This is a perfect example of a player that can't find an identity. It has thrived and it's monster website has only gotten more popular and it may kick the Llama's *bottom*...But it s---t's the consumer's bed. It not only plays the least formats of any player short of Adobe Flash Player but it has 2000 tv stations that don't work, plugins, addons, skins, bells, weather forecasters, 20,000 different similar sound equalizers, radio stations, it's the swiss army knife with a spork, fingernail clippers, and a cork screw...But no knife. I guess the appeal is that everyone can become a member of the Winamp junior developer's silly software society. With that said if you're looking for an MP3 player...You can't beat it...And finally good old 3)GOM player at least you know what it will look like 10 years from now...But at least it plays a good variety of files...But again will only load one at a timeonto the playlist if they are in folders...Forget it. My last choice should is 4)Media Player Classic...I can't quite put my finger on it other than ...It;'s Microsoft if it is working...At best it's like the VLC player's idiot step brother.
