My website is down. Is there a server problem or something? Is anyone else's site down?

By not posting on a relatively frequent basis. Hosted members loose a credit each day, so lets say you've got 30 credits, that means that you can go about 30 days without posting. I think Xisto prefers that its hosted members keep their credits between 7-10 or above. This way if you go on vacation, or whatever your account won't be suspended.

You would probably like punBB. Its realy is a lightweigtboard. Its an older board and fantastico doesn't have it, but you could try googling for it. There also serveral cms scripts like xoops that have a forum built in them. I realy like the one that comes with Xoops. Phpnuke has a phpBB forum built in, but you probably want that. IPB is the most sercure BB, but SMF is more advanced and has more options. SMF is often considered as a "professional or buisness support forum".

I assume you've installed it using Fantasico, right??? If so, since you don't know what the url is, I would also assume that you didn't specify a folder to install in. If all this is true, then you can find it at your domain name.

This is rather interesting free domain site. Apparentl, once you get a 1000 credits, via referrals, banners, participating in online activies,etc...they give you an account at http://site.optinom.com/. I've already got a 100. It will be interesting to see if this is realy true. Then again, if you've got $8.25, I would recommend just going ahead and buying a domain. Thats as cheap as it gets.

Ok, I found a good file uploader script. Its the IP(Invision Power) file uploader. I read the instructions and was able to install it, but I keep on getting these weird errors. I can log in to admin section, but I can login onto the file manager itself. Here's the link. Anyways, when I login I get this weir error saying, "Fatal Error! The root directory does not exist, please contact the server admin" I've considered that one of the problems may be that when I created a user(me), I was suppose to specify the root directory and root url. According to the installation guide root directory="Root Directory - This is the absolute path to the users directory, it must be relative to the root directory, i.e. / or c:\, not relative to the web root" and the root url="This is the URL to the users root directory, for example if c:\websites was accessed via http://www.domain.com/ and the users root directory was c:\websites\user then the URL would be [url="http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ I put something down, but I realy don't have a clue what those 2 things are. Could someone please to direct me to what the problem may be, or maybe an administrator could install it for me? ~~Thanks for your time

Meh I have a couple of .tk's that I let other people use.I don't like to use .tk's b/c of the reasons mentioned in the other posts.I reguraly just get a .com or .net or something like that b/c they are much faster and no pop ups unless you want them to be there.But, if you didn't have any money then .tk or another free url forward option is the way to go.

Shoot I would get one just to have the longest just so I could say i own the longest domain name. Yes it is kinda pointless but would be fun to own and go around saying that. Think your friend has a nice car and you got a POS. What are you going to go at him with. Well maybe your long domain name. I would never since that would seem kinda geeky but if he were a geek then you would beat him so badly.

I find ftp accounts to be a pain. Does anyone know of any good file upload script I can install onto my website. Someone mentioned copermine earlier, but thats not what im looking for. Basically, I want to have a place where priviledged members of my website can upload their own files.Sorry to double post, but I forgot to add some things. It would be cool if the upload script could support any file types, had password control, maybe ability to set up accounts and monitor bandwith and space. Simple format would be a plus as well.

I've gone to some IPB forums were it seems they allowed file attachment options, even music and videos files. Like this one! Does phpBB or SMF have this option? Because so far, I've only been able to upload pictures in the avatar gallery.

Viruses are not alive! Their like a person who's become a vegetable because of a car crash. The person is technically dead, but may be kept alive on life support. They rely and recieve energy from their host and they either take over their hosts and terminate it or the host is able to get rid of the virus and form antibodies. secondly, viruses don't posses DNA, meaning they realy don't have a genetic identity.

Hey I've used this site before and FireFox does outstanding! Internet Explorer doesn't do quite as well as I would have hoped... (with Service Pack 2 installed), but hey, that's Micro$oft for you.
