It sounds like you are having the Blaster Worm or something similar. This virus will simply make you shutdown your computer everytime you are connected to the internet. If your system is not protected, this virus will automatically infect your system from the internet. There is a prevention for this. If you are going to reformat and reinstall Windows again, make sure that you first install a firewall and an antivirus software, all configurated properly, before connection to the internet. And after you've connected to the internet, do not attempt to visit any other sites or connect instant messengers or any other programs that require internet connection. Instead, go to Windows Update and update your operating system immediately. Download all critical updates and install them. Repeat the updating process without connecting other programs that uses the internet until there are no further updates from the Windows Update site. Do it likewise for your firewall and antivirus software. After all updating is complete, then you can proceed on enjoying your internet surfing and connect whatever programs you want to. It isn't quite logical to convert your pure HTML site into a PHP page because HTML codes are basically client-side codes that display everything as text. PHP is processed on the server and hence the codes are not downloaded into the client's computer. The client only gets the processed output of the PHP program, which is then converted to plain HTML text for the client, or visitor to view. There's quite a number of PHP builder, free and commercial versions. Both you will need at least basic PHP knowledge to use them. Otherwise you will not know what is going on. It's unlike Frontpage, Dreamweaver or anyother HTML builder as they are pretty straight forward, making what you see as what you get. HTML simply displays everything in it. PHP builder is not making as what you see with what you get. It's more towards programming as what you want to do upon certain events. Hence people who doesn't know basic PHP will likely don't know what is going on in the PHP builder software. I've seen the preview and I have to say honestly that I really like the menu and the content part. They really gives a glass effect. I'll give 10/10 for the glass effect. Good job. As I've been trying to work on glass effect, I know it's not easy doing it on a pure black background. Here's something you can improve on: Change the red buttons to glassy silver that matches black well. Likewise for the divider or the title bar in the content part. Also in additional, make another slimmer version of that bar to act as a small divider, like what you see in the original template. Add some effects or shapes if necessary. As for the top left logo, it's much better than the previous one. However, a little too messy in the reddish background. It's blends awesomely well though with the logo. Make it less complicated, or otherwise blend it more to the black side. I'll prefer some silver details in the reddish background. The logo is somewhat a big problem. It's too big.. Half its size should be good. Add more metalic effects to it's circumference. Towards the right of the logo is welly done..! That's another 10/10 for glass effect. Hotmail used to provide free POP3 service to your email client. However that was the past. Now only those who subscribed to Hotmail Premium gets the service. Hence it's no longer free. There are alternatives to this. Yahoo Mail and GMail are still providing POP3 services for free. You will need to enable the service in the control panel in your account there. All your mails actually stored on the mail server. Whatever you've got on your email client, Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express, are just copies of the mail delivered into your computer. If you've configurated correctly, you can delete those mails from the mail server after you've downloaded or retrieved them into your mail client to view them offline. A web mail is a direct connection to the mail server. Hence whatever you've done on your web mail account is hence directly processed. Deleting a mail on the web mail interface will remove the mail from the server. Hence since the mail client is required to connect to the mail server to grab those mail into your computer, the deleted mail will not be downloaded as it already does not exist on the server. Unless you've downloaded your mails to your mail client, you may delete those mails on the mail server without affecting those already on your computer.

That's a good news to you finding out that it isn't the hard disk problem. Unfortunately however you've lost all your precious data by formatting it. Anyway if you would like to get more memory to replace the damaged one, remember to check out the model number and it's specifications before buying. A wrongly fitted memory module may cause permanent damage to the motherboard and BIOS. If that really happens, it's time to get a new computer. :lol:The most important thing to look out for in RAM is the clock speed. Make sure it's compatible with your motherboard. It's best and recommended to follow exactly the same specification with the damaged memory and it will sure to work. The amount of memory does not affect on compatibility, hence you can get a 512MB, 1024MB or whatever amount you like. Also remember to slot back the same memory slot that used to house the damaged memory module. Reconfiguration to the BIOS may be necessary. Work with your father since he fixed the computer for you.

I couldn't sign up for a few reasons. THe Internet Explorer version which I have is able to sign up for the service. However, I don't have a credit card and I'm not living in USA. That's the bad thing. These 2 restrictions simply blocks off most non-businessmen.Anyway, why would Microsoft start giving out such services? Free domain, free web hosting, free this and free that? Isn't that weird? That's Microsoft eh?

You've actually answered for yourself. This code <td><?PHP $abc; ?></td>or this code <td><?php echo $abc; ?></td>will work similarly. Unfortunately, you have to do this to obtain the content of the variable $abc. There are no other ways because HTML cannot take non-HTML codes. The server does not understand $abc and hence treated it as plain text to display on a normal HTML page. Inserting PHP code tags and changing the file type to PHP will print the correct information as they stated the correct scripting. It depends on what codecs you are looking for. If you are not sure which codec to download, you can always use the codec pack. Looking at their news articles, they are not exactly copied from reuters. Hence having a script running in the background to grab the news and publish on yahoo's page is not possible. There should be official people working on it, reading the latest news headlines from reuters and rewrite and publish on their sites. Likewise, they should be working all around the clock to keep their news site updated.In that so called news department in Yahoo, probably they've subscribed RSS feeds from reuters. Therefore they always get the firsthand updated news.

hey itssami.. I can't think of any other was but RSS is the way to go. RSS is able to grab latest information from the servers. However you will need a converter to convert those RSS feeds into HTML automatically, which then the HTML files will appear on your own websites. All these should be done in the backend with scripts. Hey hey hey.. Don't mess with Alienware.. It's best known gaming machine.. Those specifications you see are indeed crazy. But if you are wary, always open up the PC case and check it out. Do benchmarks which will also help in verifying extreme capabilities.Anyway, do you guys know that Dell plans to buy Alienware? I've read the article somewhere recently. Currently Dell is the best computer company. In future if Dell buys Alienware, Dell will be unstoppable.

Most of the programs, like those recommended by some posters here, will not work for your case as you've not installed the software before your hard disc crashed. These software are meant to be installed to track your last good configurations and backs them up for you automatically everytime you shut your computer down. If any problem occurs, you can then use the program to recover your last good configurations from the backup archive done by the software.Of course, some software are able to recover data before it's installation date. However you should use the feature with care as it may cause more damage and makes data unrecoverable.

You can always do a site redirect from the domain domain.com/forums.. Whenever someone hits domain.com/forums, it will automatically redirect to the site which you've configured to be. It can be a particular topic or getting new topics since last log off. Redirects can be done in your cPanel.
