  1. I would say both sites layout and design are good. I like their themes and the text are well seen. Color combinations fit quite well. Like many said, I agree that I don't really like the background music. Not that they are in midi files, but the music just don't match your site. You can't have pachelbel's canon or MIB music on an adventurous game. And eventually, I don't see any games yet.
  2. I'll leave it to itssami to decide if he want's to release the source codes..
  3. It's done... I've sent the files to you.. Check out for bugs and let me know.. :)Also, with regards to the replies above, I would like to point that there isn't a need to use a database. In fact, having a database isn't efficient when there is a whole lot of files added to the directory, and you will have to update the database. If a hundred connections are accessing the directory, the database will have to undergo maintanence very often when each connection changes the directory structure. In fact, I've remade a script done by itssami to use only itself, 1 file, to handle the directory structure without the need of using a database or a requirement of a 2nd php file. This way, it's alot more easier for debugging and administrating his web site.
  4. I have Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail but I'm using Hotmail as my primary email. Hotmail has accompanied me for many years since it was my first email. Many of my friends have been contacting me using Hotmail. Gmail on the other hand was quite a waste because it wasn't really in the use. However in terms of web space provided by the 3 email providers, Gmail still has the most.
  5. It seems like a PowerISO file. Hence you may need this software to execute this file type. Refer to this http://filext.com/file-extension/daa
  6. I don't think private servers are pirate servers. It's there because it's private and not public. Whether or not the owner of the private servers will steal passwords, that we all won't know unless you specially tell us which private servers did that. Otherwise, it's still wise not to use the same password for the public and private servers. The objective of having a private server is because they can host games without any charges and play according to their server set of rules. In public servers, it's controlled by the game developer. Of course, there's always an offside thinking that because private servers doesn't charge for gameplay, therefore it's pirating games. Still the official game client have to be paid for. For example World of Warcraft. You would have to buy a legit copy of WoW in order to play in public and private games. You can never find another place to download the client game for free. Hence I don't think it's pirating games by hosting a private server. If the client games are free to download, and whether or not the game play on the public servers are chargable, hosting a private server still doesn't pirate the game simply because it's free to download.
  7. You cannot host a domain with the free web hosting services provided here. This is a web hosting provider. You will need to approach the domain registrar to get your domain registered and your domain name will be stored and point to the name servers.Since you've registered a domain, you can cofigure your domain to point to your web host. Here is where you can get a free web hosting account.
  8. You said the power light is off when the computer freezes? I'm suspecting that you've not got enough power for your system. Check your power supply and upgrade it if needed. You may need to calculate the total watts needed for all the devices in your computer. You may need an electronic engineer for help in detail.
  9. Yes that's what I've though of from the beginning. It's just now firefox renders the graphics to you, hence other browsers will not be able to view your new gmail skin. And it's only the firefox browser on your computer displays it to you. You can even try to login to your skinned gmail account on another firefox browser on another computer, I bet you cannot see any skin changes. Basically, your gmail account did not change at all, or rather in short, you've not exactly skinned your gmail. You've actually skinned your firefox instead when a url goes to gmail domain. I guess any gmail users log in through the skinned gmail firefox will see the same skin for every gmail account inbox.

    Djing Online....

You can try SHOUTcast.. I'm not a techie in this field.. You may have to check out tutorials on its website to know how.. Refer to this thread as well.. http://forums.xisto.com/topic/30394-run-your-own-mail-radio-server-shoutcast-and-more/=
  11. Where do you get the beta download? Any alternative download for non MSDN subscribers? My hands are itchy when I'm seeing those glass windows..
  12. Will you guys who managed to make it work post a screenshot of it as well? Make screenshots of one in Firefox and one in Internet Explorer..
  13. Wow.. it's very interesting.. Is this something you've programmed all by yourself? I think it's pretty well done with just javascript. However it's still not quite well polish in terms of interface. I'd prefer a better look and feel in gaming, even for web based games. You may check out Kings of Chaos and refer to their graphical content. You may want to follow the same or related. It's gonna be something big and you've to put quite an amount of time. Anyway, great job..
  14. Wow.. I never know google.com has domains like gooogle.com and whatsoever. Where you guys know these alternatives and easter eggs from? Thanks D.BOY for this interesting thread..
  15. I'd prefer IRC as a medium for transfering files. It's not an illegal method because the person who transfers the files to you will have to know you first. I doubt anyone in IRC would transfer files to anyone else to strangers. On top of that, what I like best on IRC is the transfer speed. Because it uses direct connection without going through a server, the transfer speed can be as much as your broadband speed, provided that both sides have the same broadband speeds. Let's say the one who transfers the files got 1500kbps uplink, and you as the downloader got 1500kbps downlink, your files get transmitted at 1500kbps.I agree with rvalkass on Rapidshare and all of those web-based file transfer servers. They are totally unreliable because of their limitations. One of the most annoying limitations is that only an IP adress can access the download at any one time, or access the download once in a day, or whatsoever. The thing is that their IP address detection is made in a way that it detects the internet router WAN IP address, which every computers in the region will have to pass by. Since these web-based file servers have the IP address limitation, there's always no chance to download the files, unless you are the extreme lucky one in the entire WAN-connected computers. That's probably among a few hundreds or thousands of computers. Other than the IP limitation, it's also slow in download that is extremely unreliable. At any one time, the download may just cut off and gets disconnected such that you will have to re-download everything again. Slow in these web-based file servers meaning they can never exceed 10kbps transfer rate. You will be happy to see it hits 11kbps and above.P2P and Torrent protocols are highly monitored by security companies to capture what you've been transmitting through those software. It's a mean to log your activity and your IP address and take legal actions on you when they are ready. Hence, it's a big no no for me. You will never know what they do to you while you're happily seeing your downloads getting completed.
  16. Simply place your normal HTML embed codes in javascript writeln method. <script language="javascript">document.writeln("<embed src='watever.mp3'>");</script>
  17. So I guess we are expecting the same. There could be a spyware or some sort doing the emailing behind your back. Since you've detect a spyware, remove it. See if that happens again after removing the spyware. Changing email password is one way to protect your inbox. However you cannot protect your email address because it's public. The spyware, or some guys who does the manual emailing, can use anonymous email scripts to send email using your email address. The anonymous email scripts are powerful in a way that you can even put in weird or stupid email address like, "suicider@terrorist.org", or "billgates@microsoft.com" etc in the from part of the mail. Hence, putting your email address in it is very much possible. If it's the spyware that does the emailing, the only way to stop is to remove it. If it's some guys trying to make fun of you, the only way to stop is to wait until they get tired of it. However in future when you've got a new email address, protect the address by turning them into indirect characters such that only the browser is able to read. Scripts that are written by these scammers usually find email addresses in your HTML codes to use your email address. By turning your emailing address text into indirect characters, these scripts usually bypass your real email address, and therefore the scammers don't find you trouble. Take a look at this site on how to change your email address into indirect characters. A more detailed explaination about this issue is also in the site. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  18. Having mails bounced back doesn't always mean that you've got problems on your computer. It could be that the recipient's email server either not working well, or the server cannot find the recipient's emaill address. There are several other elements that your email can be bounced back. Since you are using your Yahoo mail as a storage for all the spam mails, there could be a possibility that Yahoo servers block mass sending of advertisements or known-spam mails that were reported by other Yahoo users. Likewise, the recipient's server could be the one that blocked your mail as they were detected as spam, thus resulting in the email bounced back.MSN Group does require users with Microsoft Passport account, similar to your Hotmail account, to register to a particular group to obtain access to the information in the group. That could include emailing to the group's default email address. Hence resulting in the bounced email as well. You've forgotten the most important point. Besides scanning your computer for virus and spyware, you will also need to update them everyday. Without updates, it's pretty pointless to keep checking your computer without the software knowing of latest threats.
  19. So you just want the mp3 music to play as a background music on your site. You can refer to the link given by BuffaloHELP. It's a method on how you embed a music or a media file on your webpage. Visiting the link shows an example of a MIDI music file playing when the page is launched. Below is a summarised code to place within the body tags of your html files <EMBED src="file.mp3" autostart=true loop=false volume=100 hidden=true><NOEMBED><BGSOUND src="file.wav"></NOEMBED>The <EMBED> tags are rendered by Firefox and Netscape. Browsers which does not read those tags will read those within the <NOEMBED> tags. That includes Internet Explorer, Opera etc.
  20. Oh yes, it's better than the mother of all viruses. Probably it's just a lose power cable of the one connecting to your CPU or your monitor. You might have kicked those cables or a lizard went passed it.. Unplugging them and replugging shows that it works with a tighter power cable connection.Nice troubleshoot answered..
  21. Definately, like JC05 said, that customised computers are always cheaper than branded ones. In exchange, the ones you built is taken cared for all by yourself. You have to be an expertise IT personal to settle all computer problems from the basic hardware to software areas. If you buy a branded computer, they will always provide support for at least 1 year, in which you can exchange damaged hardware without any cost. You definately cannot do that when you've customised a computer. A point to note that a customised computer has higher chance of getting damaged or generates fussy and irritating problems than branded computers if you don't build it correct. Hence you need to be expertise in building one.If you want a computer as cheap as a customised computer, and have better support, try JC's custom computers. They claimed that they beat dell, so you might want to check that out! <_<Check JC05's signature for the URL.
  22. THere's one that you don't even have to install or do anything extra to your webpage. Here's an example of Xisto forums with a chat window on top, draggable. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Refer to this thread for more information http://forums.xisto.com/topic/35787-gabbly-web-integrated-chat-very-cool-look-at-the-sample-on-Xisto/ And the chat provider on how to add the chat window to your site. /legacy
  23. You can also upload mp3 files into your Xisto webhosting web space. Just do like like how you usually upload normal html files. However, like many web hosting providers, the mp3 uploaded must not be copyrighted by other owners. This means that the mp3 music must be created by you.Alternatively, you can search google on "mp3 hosting". There are quite a few free mp3 hosting servers to rely on. Also, you can upload to any free file hosting servers as well, like File Lodge.
  24. Good idea, but I don't think that something professional as a web designer or a web programmer. If you've seen the statistics of those who had visited your site, most of the browsers used are usually logged down as Internet Explorer. IE still holds the largest share of percentage. In almost anywhere, you can see many people uses Internet Explorer. If you tell them about Firefox or any other browsers, they will say "huh?". So a professional web designer ensures that his web pages that he is creating is viewable on all browsers. Although sometimes when objects or elements compatibility problem occur, the web designer must still make the sites look alike on all browsers. A note below the page can be then added to say that the site is best viewed with Firefox or some sort like that. What you are doing now must probably piss off those people who doesn't know what is Firefox about, or doesn't bother to install Firefox, or whatsoever. Probably those people surfing the internet in the cyber-cafes or computer shops will never visit your site again. Remember that a good web designer always ensures that the site looks alike on all browsers. If Microsoft, Google or Yahoo can do it, why can't you? To ease your problem, you may like to explain more in detail and add in the source code. This will help people here in getting more into the point in solving your problem.
  25. I'm running a Dell computer for 4 years already. I don't intend to change or buy another computer to replace this current one as it still working fine for me. I agree that many software, especially games, are slowing requiring high hardware capabilities to execute them or to run smoothly. However I always find alternative software to replace those power-hungry ones. The advantage is that sometimes, the alternatives are freeware and usually freeware require little resources from your computer to execute. Unless I'm planing to upgrade my operating system to Windows Vista, I'd probably still stay with my current computer for the next 3 years, if nothing breaks down unfortunately. You said you will be getting a pentium 3 computer in a week? I hope not. I thought this was an old thread but its posted today. Get a pentium 4 hyper threading technology processor computer instead since you are getting a new computer. AMD branded processor will also work as an alternative. Just don't think about pentium 3, it's obsolete.
