  1. Ok, this could be fun!1) Laughing too loudly and having a weird laugh Yea, ok, this could be weird2) Eating with your mouth open Yes, it's gross, but since I can't breath threw my nose, it is just something I have to do if I want to remain concious.3) Farting and Burping in public Hey, when the urge hits, what can I say?4) Crying too blubbery and too frequently Naw, not me! Tough old bird here. 5) Wearing clothing thats out of style (especially those shoes with the velcro) Oh definatly me! The dogs just don't care one whit about what I wear, so why should I?6) Going for a walk just for fun Are you kidding? Fun? No way. I have to walk around all day just taking care of things here, would never have the energy to do it for fun7) Talking about god excessively and trying to convert everyone Don't know about weird but this one can sure be annoying. Faith is a personal thing and I do wish some people would keep it personally to themselves.8) Tripping over yourself9) Breaking out into song Guilty. But only when I'm by myself. I wouldn't even admit in public that I do this when I am alone in the Kennel, that could be considered dog abuse.10) A Bra strap hanging way down on the shoulder No way, no how. Not going to happen. Don't wear one. I figure men invented the dang things, let them wear 'em!11) Starring at a person while their eating Oh yuk, who wants to watch somebody else masticate? (yes, I said "cate, not bate)12) Going to the bathroom too frequently When ya gotta go ya gotta go!13) Putting on lipstick except missing your lips Don't wear any, so that one doesn't apply to yours truely14) leaving huge pieces of food in your teeth Eeek, no way! I am a compulsive tooth picker. I can eat one little bite of food and I'm reaching for a tooth pickOk, I love this one:I could suggest things that definitely wouldnt be normal, like purposely going out of your way to sniff other peoples odours or something, which you dont do or do you?. Ok, keeping in mind that I do spend a tremendous time around dogs, I may of picked up a few bad habits from them and there is a possibility that I could be guilty of this one. I saw a neat video clip of Ted Neugent the other day, he was talking about how he wished that the woman that had gotten killed by a car jacker had pulled a gun on him, emptied it in his chest, and killed him instead of getting killed herself, and he asked if he was weird for thinking that. Now that I didn't think was weird.
  2. Ah ha! Now I understand. It makes perfect sense now that you explain it that way. Thanks!
  3. When I first got on line, there were 2 big and active pet boards, Acme Pet, and Patty's Dog Park. Acme has long since bit the dust, Patty's may still be around, but I haven't botherd to look for ages. I used to just love to go in there and get in these HUGE arguments with animal rights idiots. Oh, how they hated me! It was so much fun! So many of them were city slickers and didn't know the first dog gone thing about dogs, or any other kind of animals either for that matter. One day they were trashing other farmers in general and one poster mentioned how cruel she thought it was that milk cows were hooked up to milking machines, she was so stupid and uneducated she thought they spent their entire lives hooked up the machines. I have to admit, I was pretty shocked to find out somebody was that stupid about milk cows. But these days I just hang out at a great breeders board, USABreeders, and of course, here at Xisto. Pretty good compay here, nobody has even gave me a good cusing about raising dogs, much to my surprise. You guys are all just pretty cool.
  4. You know, I'm not positive like you are, but I'm pretty sure I lost out on some my cents too, the day Xisto went down. I was actually on line posting when it went down. For awhile the last post I wrote didn't even show up, but it fianlly came up like the next day. And since we are on this subject, I have to say, I am totally confused about how this works. Why do the numbers bounce around so much???In the little box where my avatar is where it says "earned" it always stays about the same, $56, but the mycents bounces like crazy. One day it said $74 and I made some posts and it dropped to $30, then today I see it is up to $96. I just can't figure out the rhyme or reason to it.
  5. From reading ashutosh_malguri original post, this sounds more like you are hypnotising somebody else, anyway, that's the way I took it. I do sell pups to people I never get to meet, and it would really be great to know how to write to put them at ease and make them comfortable and confident in buying a pup from me. LOL, I'm not going to worry about some evil spirit taking over my body. Any spirit powerful enough to take over a body would not want my old, tired, wore out, decrepid carcuss.
  6. I always thought the store eggs broke easier than the fresh ones. Yokes and shells both. Usually when you break a farm egg into the skillet, you will notice the yolk actually stands up higher than the white, with store bought eggs they lay quite flat. There is just one thing about fresh farm eggs I don't like, they are the devil to peal when they are hard boiled. The shells tend to take away chunks of the whites with them. It was explained to me that this happens because of the freshness of the eggs. In store bought eggs, they often sit in cold storage for some time before hitting the supermarket shelves. This gives oxygen time to pass threw the shells, causeing air pockets to form between the egg white and the shell, making it easier to peal after boiling. We won't be eating any of these, I bought all pullets (females) so they will just be for egg laying. On average, during the laying season chickens bred to be laying chickens will average an egg per day. So we are going to be eating an awful lot of eggs during season. Raw eggs don't freeze all that well, but you can make and dehydrate egg noodles, or scramble them up and fry up egg patties and freeze those for sandwiches later. The frozen raw eggs can be used for cooking, but the yolks tend to get hard after freezing and don't mix up well. Next year I can save back a bunch of eggs and put them in an incubator and raise more chickens. Those we will probably eat. I guess when you grow up on the farm, you understand that not all the critter are going to be pets. You just accept the fact that eating some of them is just the way things work.
  7. I am a big thunderstorm fan too! When I was just an itty bitty kid, at night if it was thunderstorming, my mom would come in and close my bedroom curtains, so I wouldn't be afraid of all the lightening and thunder. Just as soon as she left the room, I'd jump out of bed and open them back up so I could watch the lightening. I love to be outside, like on a covered porch to watch them now. The front porch of the house is a great place to see them from, as the house is just nearly at the top of a hill, with a decent view to start with. The frount door of the kennel is usually good too, though the sound is extremely intense, especially if there is hail in the storm, it's really loud on the metal roof. I have of course, had to learn to remember not to hang my arm over the metal fence panels while watching the lightening. Got a bit of a tingly once when lightening hit the ground nearby. Not cool.
  8. Ok, I am almost afraid to do this, after reading some of the web site reviews, but I guess I should really want the truth eh? Thing is, I actually like my site pretty much the way it is, but if there can be improvements, I should certainly consider them. There are a lot of things I would like to ad as I have time, for example not actual breed descriptions since you can find those in a million places on the internet, but some more personal insights to the different breeds, why I like them, why/how I got a start in that breed, etc. And I do want to eventually learn to do video and add clips of the pups playing but right now that's way over my head technically. So, if you don't mind, take a look around my site. Link is below in my signature. How is the site for ease of navigation? Is it easy to find what you want? Graphics look ok? Everything easy to read and understand? What improvements do you think I should make?
  9. LOL, this sounds like something I REALLY need to learn how to do!!!How do you hypnotise somebody by writing?????Buy a puppy from me.....Buy A puppy from me..........you are getting sleepy.....buy a puppy from me........
  10. My better half has never been overly fond of poultry. After having to drive (and load before driving) turkey trucks, he absolutly hates turkeys, and his X had chickens, but he sat down and figured out that by the time you paid for the chicken feed the eggs were costing her $11 a dozen, or some such astronominacal figure. Anyway, the recent big jump in egg prices at the store got him to finally rethink his adversion to being a chicken farmer, and finally I have my flock started. We found a fellow at the swap meet with day old baby chickens, pullets, (all female chickens) for $1 apiece. That is down a lot from what they where in the past, they had been running $2-$3 each, which is just way too much money to give for a baby chick fresh out of the egg. The first week he was there I got 25 chicks. 16 Rhode Island Reds, and 9 Aracanna's. (the aracanna's are the ones they call Easter egg chickens, they lay all different colored eggs) The next week the fellow was back with more chicks, and he had some Cinnamon Queens, so I got 10 of those too. These are supposed to lay really big brown eggs, and if my memory serves me right, they are also more of an off season layer, which means I will have fresh eggs for a longer time during the year. Chicks are doing great, they are growing really well. I had a little wooden house to start them in, and as they grew I put together a couple of big wire dog crates and made them a bigger run. My hubby is getting into this enough he is even building me a chicken house! We are going to have the coolest chicken house in the county, he even bought some clear roofing pannels for sky lights! He still has more building to do, but for now the chicks have not completely outgrown their renovated dog cages yet. When the house is finished, we can put them just in the house part, and then build the runs after that, so we stay ahead of their space requirnments. It will be awhile yet, but I am looking forward to having my own fresh home grown eggs. Don't care what anybody says, homegrown eggs do taste better, and they darn sure look better, the yolks are a nice bright yellow-orange, unlike the pale sickly yellow ones you get in the store.
  11. LOL, if they had gone with my plan they wouldn't of ended up with a mongoose problem, but since they didn't, they can still use my idea and turn in the Wire Haired Fox Terrier to take care of the mongooses.
  12. Simply for me, it had to be some kind of dog, and I am particularly found of Old English Sheepdogs, and Sheepdog is a lot easier to type than Schnauzer. Oddly enough my real last name is another breed, just not one I have. And by the way Sky, did you know that Skye's are also a dog breed? The rather famous Grayfreyers Bobbby was a Skye Terrier. (the dog that layed on his masters grave for 14 years until he passed away, talk about loyalty!)
  13. I certainly feel better now knowing I'm not alone in questioning the sanity of the Cash for Clunkers program! I have to admit, until I really thought about it, it didn't sound like such a bad deal. Just one of those things you really have to step back from and think long and hard about the future consquences. Anyway, it's not like we were going out and buy a new car anyway, our clunker gets 40 mpg, so it didn't qualify anyway. I have to completely agree with you. But there is just one problem. How in the heck to we educate ourselves???? Take the current health care reform bill, all 1200 or so pages of it. Who the heck has time to read 1200 pages, and considering it is written in lawyer speak, the average american couldn't understand it if they did try to read it. There was a lady who called in on a local radio talk show, Cracker Barrel this past sunday who said she made up her mind she was going to read it, and she said it took her 60-70 hours to read. And then she admited she had to ask a lawyer what a lot of it meant. Now just who has that much spare time on their hands to read all that mumbo jumbo? I sure don't. And I doubt our senators and represenatives do either. And you sure better not trust the media to give an honest apraisal of the proposed law. I was a lot more inclined to believe the lady that called in to the talk show, at least she tried to make sense of it, and acording to her, it was BAD!
  14. So, what do you think about this government program? It certainly seems popular, in a matter of days they went threw the original allotment of cash that was supposed to fund the entire program. Lots of people getting new cars, and I?m sure that?s good for at least the car manufacturers, and the dealers lots and car salesman. It seemed like a good idea at first, but the more I think about it, the more I wonder. But what about the big picture? For starters, people are generally trading in older, PAID FOR cars. Is it wise in an economic downtrend to go deeper in debt? And what about the rest of the economy, now that these people will be making car payments, will that not take away a great deal of their disposable income that would otherwise be spent on other things that would stimulate the economy as well? Can?t go out and eat dinner or go to a movie if you have that big car payment to make! And with the continued layoffs and job loss, aren?t the banks and lenders going to take another beating when all these cars start getting repossessed when their owners can?t pay for them? (I suppose the government will just bail them out again) You would think they would of wised up after the housing market crash. Another thing that concerns me is the disposal of the ?clunkers.? A news story I recently heard says that the cars are only going to certain salvagers, and many salvage yards are not able to get the cars. Sort of unfair about the distribution of the salvage cars. Another issue on the salvage side, since these trade in cars are supposed to be crushed, what about the rest of us who choose not to bust our budgets on a new car, and continue to drive our clunkers? Once all the parts are crushed and recycled into whatever, it is going to be really hard to find good used parts to keep our old junkers running. And the glut on the metal recycling certainly is not going to help anyone who junks for a living, scrap metal prices are already down, and I suspect will get lower yet. The thing that really bugs me though, is that most of our old clunkers that are being taken off the road don?t have GPS. Big Brother is defiantly watching us! Every where we go, they will know exactly where we are at all times. And by the way, did you know, if you happen to be late on a car payment, they can shut your car down and you can be stranded where every you are? I didn?t realize this until it actually happened to some people who stopped here one day. Can you imagine being on a trip far from home and being locked out of your car? What a disaster that could turn into!
  15. Yes, if you really really want something, and concentrate on getting it, USUALLY you do get what you want. Not always though. But what I find interesting, is that most of the time, the things you worry about that MIGHT happen, that you don't want to happen, that you prepare for if they do and try your best to avoid, usually don't happen.
  16. I suspect Avalon is correct, there are a lot of expenses to operating a successful web site. Advertising costs to get traffic to the site can be tremendous. And as far as click backs from the advertisers they have, those are only pennies coming in for click threws. I doubt if all that many graphic designers would work for free, or consider it an honer to work and not get paid for it.And besides, what does it matter if they are making money???? Isn't that the goal in working? Or the great American dream? If some one comes up with a great invention/idea/web site and they work hard on it and make something of it, why shouldn't they profit from their efforts?
  17. It would be entiely possible to build a colony, but the question would be, why bother? What resourse does the moon have that would make it worthwhile to extend the massive effort in time and money that it would take? Far as I know, the moon is just a giant rock. Even if the planet had valuable ore that could be mined, you would still have the transportation problem of getting it back to earth. Without a water sourse, vegatation could not survive op the surface of the planet, and with no atmosphere the open surfce of the planet could never be used, only man made "bubbles" would work for human and other life forms, like living plants. One possible handy use for the moon would be a NASA type operation. Future space exploration would be easier to take off from the moon instead of earth, since the lack of atmosphere and gravity would make lift offs much much easier than here on earth. Also monitering systems and various satalite system would probably have some advantages for earth. But the lack of gravity would make it a big problem for any humans working there. It is fun to think about though.
  18. Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip and your time in the good old USA. The only thing you might of done differently was to visit Florida in the winter. Let me tell you, a break from the cold and snow of the midwest and northern states of the USA is a real pleasure in December/January!Curious, don't they have pizza where you live? Since the USA is covered from coast to coast with numerous pizza chain stores, it's hard to imagine not having it available world wide. And for your future health and well being, when it thunders and lightnings, you need to get OUT of the water. Water attracts and conducts electricity, and you could get toasted like a marshmellow if the area you were in took a hit.
  19. I would have to agree with you. I fail to see the enjoyment people get from acting like total morons. People that deliberatly send out computer viruses are even worse, why would you want to destroy something that belongs to someone you don't even know or have any reason to hurt them. Stupid Stupid Stupid.
  20. LOLOL, sorry guys I just can't resist!I am at level 357 magnum Ruger Black Hawk. Remember that scene in Indiana Jones where the guy all dressed in black is doing this flashy routine with swinging his big knives in circles and acting so tough, and Jones just shrugs his shoulders and pulls out his gun and shoots him? It's my favorite part of the whole movie.
  21. The thing about drugs (perscription) in Mexico is absolutly true. We used to go down there once a year and stock up. I can get antibiotics for my self and my dogs at a tiny fraction of the cost in the USA, and not only that, you can get what you need without a doctor's permission in most cases. I had a dog that had to be on lasix, my housedog, and the perscription in the USA was $15, in Mexico it was $1.50!!!! And that was just one drug!
  22. Well..................does being a dog breeder count as daring???? It sure seems to be, I am a target of those lunitic animal rights idiots, I get death threats, by mail and on my answering machine, friends of mine have been mailed white powder, been shot at, run off the road, had people tresspass on their property, and even set their kennel buildings on fire. (yes, with the dogs in them, now ain't those animal rights freaks first class nut jobs?) So I get all the daring I need just making my living. Ya'll can keep the sky diving, and all that jazz!
  23. Wow, you have been carrying a torch for a very long time. It's time to douse it. You've gotten tons of good advice here allready, take it to heart. He is married. Has a family. Children that need him as a father and role model in their lives. Did you make a mistake? Maybe. If you did, it's time to face facts, and learn to deal with it. However, there is the possibility that you did not make a mistake. Maybe he is NOT the one for you. While it may be hard to believe, there might be a better one right down the road just waiting to meet you. But you will never find them if you keep avoiding the situation, or if you write off every one you meet when they do not immediatly stand up to the one you let get away. I have learned one thing for all my years on this planet. I believe that we go threw a lot of bad relations simply so when we find a good one, we appreciate him! Good luck, I hope you find someone that will make you happy. I'm betting that you do! We all do sooner or later.
  24. Are you serious??????!!!!!!! And just who decides who is "the worst?" This is absolutly riduculous, absurd, and downright disgusting. They had to start it with the poor (foolish) Brits, as they have allready taken their guns away so they can't fight back against the tyranny of their government.
  25. Let me explain. Some people are very sensitve, and their feelings can be seriously hurt when they are insulted, or teased or harrassed in other ways on the internet. You are lucky if you can as you say, just close the page, and forget it. Not everyone can do that. So many people are just insecure allready, and cannot take that type of critisism. There has allready been one case of suicide related to cyber bullying. While I feel that anyone who would go to that extreme over a bully is probably allready suffering from other mental health problems, it still has negative effects on even more normal people.
