  1. Interesting. I've actually never considered an icy cold hunk of rock, or a huge hot fireball as either male or female, though now thinking about it I could see wind being male, since most males are blow hards anyway Earth has always been mother earth to me, so I'll go along with that one. Stars could go either way, as female, bright and twinkly, or male, distant and only visible at night. Same with clouds, as female, bright fluffy, or male, of no actual substance, just wispy and fleeting. Can't make my mind up on sky either, beautiful and blue with the female, or dark and dangerous as male. Rain? Well, they world couldn't not survive with out some rain, (that would be the female side) or if you believe the story of the great flood in Noah's day, too much rain, (male) could also be the end of the world.
  2. I liked it a lot better when it was at the top of every page. That way you could still read the posts, make posts, and keep an eye on the shout box all at the same time. The shoutbox sometimes was really slow, so if all you can do is be in chat, it would be really boring really fast. I did really like the shout box, especially if I had a question about something.
  3. I'm going to have to dissagree with web desinger and anwiii. Parent's can't really, or at least completely control their childrens lives, at least after the kids become teenagers. I probably had 2 of the most strict parents on the planet, but that did not stop me from drinking as a teenager. I think it's just a natural, normal part of growing up that kids rebel against their parents, and want to try new things and figure out life for themselves.
  4. ROTFLMAO!!!Don't want much do you?Haven't you ever hear, if you want to be happy for the rest of your life, never make a pretty woman your wife, get an ugly girl to marry you. You might want to consider some of your other ideals. Like being vegan. If you want to have a family, a vegan diet may not be conducive to bearing healthy children. Smart is good, and a good cook is even better,(good looks may fade over the years, but you will always have to eat.) but playing a musical instrument???? I don't see any real practical purpose for that one. Hair can always grow, and who know's if face book will be around in a few years from now, or if it will be replaced with something newer, better. And here's one you left out, how about a woman that loves you for what you are?
  5. I would have to agree with you. Information about ANYTHING is now at the very tips of our fingers, and available in a matter of only seconds. Back 100 years ago we didn't even have telephones, let alone computers. Our ancestors in rural areas didn't even have libraries, books were rare and hard to come by in a great deal of the country. It was difficult to learn any new subjects. About all you could learn was what your parents taught you.
  6. Oh man, I'm with you Anwii! I hate change. I can't find anything here now. I wanted to check my balance and can't find where I click to go to it. I also don't like have to load another page just to log in, the old forum had a log in spot right on the page. It looks good, I like the colors, and I suppose I will get used to the layout and eventually figure out where everything is, but I do miss the shoutbox.
  7. Personally, I've never seen one. But I don't disbelieve, even if I have not had the dubious pleasure. I'm not really sure I would want to see one. The thought of a dead person just popping in at any time they feel like it doesn't do much for me. I do have a friend though that has had several ghosts or spirits or what ever you want to call them visit her. Every incident happened shortly after the friend or relative passed away. They all had some message, for her. I have no reason to doubt she saw them. She just isn't the type to make this sort of thing up.
  8. My experience with RC toys is pretty limited, but I did get quite a good laugh out of an RC car the young boys that belonged to a former employee of mine had. They boys were playing with it here at the kennel, and I had some pups that just went bonkers when they saw it, they were chasing it back and forth along side their run and boy did they ever want to catch that car! It was really funny to watch.
  9. Well, I have certainly called my computer many many things other than computer. But I'm not sure any of my sugestions for names would be appropreate. They might be down right bleeep bleeep bleeeeeped all out.
  10. So Simpleton, take heart, at least you are not as yet sleeping in your car! But I can sympathise with you. Sometimes it's really hard when you have so many things to do to keep the post up here. I know I have a devil of a time with it. And lately it's been really slow here as far as new posts, and I have been too uninspired to come up with brilliant ideas for posts myself. Wish I could find a few more dog breeders, or even farmers to join in here for web hosting, so I could have some one else to swap stories with. Oh, by the way, many national parks now charge for overnight parking. Rest area along major highways aren't too bad, or even busy truck stops may work. You might be ok in a church parking lot, but since there are seldom other cars there except on sundays, you might stick out like a sore thumb.
  11. You realize of course, it's a gas guzzler?Aside from that the Crown Vic's are good, sturdy, well made cars. I drove one for awhile, I do like the feel of that big V8. I think the interceptor package is what is in Police cars? I know the police departments use a lot of Vic's. A friend of mine has one now, he drove it as a taxi for quite some time. They hold up really well.
  12. Well, you shouldn't stay gone so long!Only the name was changed, to protect the not innocent. It's still the same old gang, same basic forums, and lucky for me, I didn't even have to change my link in favorites, it still comes right here. So....tell us why you have been gone so long. Hope nothing was wroung or you were in some kind of trouble.
  13. I have the Sony Cyber Shot too, a different number than the one you listed, mine's a DSC-P72. It's just 3.2 mega pixels, but that takes a lot of pictures, I've had over 300 at a time. The only problem with it, and I think with nearly all digital camera's is the delay between the time you push the button and the time the picture actually gets taken. When you are trying to get those perfectly posed puppy shots that delay is a royal pain in the hind end. Puppys are not too good about sitting still to get their picture taken. I had to take pictures of 4 different pups this evening, it took 82 shots to get even a couple good ones of each pup. But, other than the delay, this has been a really good camera. I use it a LOT, as you can imagine. Seems like I have to take pictures almost all the time. I've been useing this one a few years now, and it's still going strong. I like that it uses regular AA batteries, I get the rechargable ones and have quite a few extra ones that I try to keep charged up ahead of time. Some camera's have specialized batteries and I think that would be a real pain to not have a good extra supply. My camera also takes short video clips, but I have never been able to figure out how to make the video files small enough to send out as emails. Wish I could manage that, but I'm just not that smart.
  14. I sull up like a whipped pup. Stay up half the night, wasting time on the computer, don't do my work, or just what I absolutly have to do and not one iota more, get withdrawn and won't talk to anybody, sometimes I get a book and read until the wee hours of the morning, I get quite self destructive when I get depressed. Of course, all this just makes me more depressed because I know I have things I have to do. I just can't make me do them. I really hate it. Fortunatly it passes in time. I really don't know that there is anything I can do about it. It seems I just have to ride it out. And it case you look at the time of this post, you can see it's almost 2:30 am, so guess what......
  15. It is SO good to have satellite TV again! It?s been about 2 years since we?ve had it, but by downgrading my satellite internet service to DSL, we can finally afford it again. So, there is this new show in the Star Gate series, SGU, I?ve just got to see an episode or 2 now, and I?m a bit lost on this one. Could somebody fill me in a little bit about the general story line of the show? It?s not making much sense. I get the feeling it?s like Voyager, where the ship and crew is stranded a few gazillion light years from earth but I?m not sure. The show would be a lot more fun to watch if I knew what it was all about.
  16. I suspect that there isn't much hope of changing his mind. At least about the evil part, in which most of us agree with him. It's this Bi thing that's bugging me. I know I am not exactly a typical or even remotely normal female, but I wouldn't think I was the only straight one on earth, and there is no way I could ever even drink enough booze to make me say I was ever interested in another woman. The very thought of it makes me queezy. Surly I'm not that strange? Sure, some woman may be that way, but I guess I can be as stubborn as anwiii, NO Way all woman. Never convince me of that. And I have to ask, anwii, why would you moon a band for playing Brown Eyed Girl???? I always did kinda like that song.
  17. Happy to back you up any time! Or at least any time I agree with you and am not in an "evil" mood! Now if we can just convince anwii that there are plenty of arrow straight females out there. I swear, this "all" woman are bi is a great huge load of horse hocky.
  18. Ok, now that could get REALLY confusing! So someone has broken into your home and even though you are in a panic, you have to stop and consider what you can legally hit them with to protect yourself? I mean, the possibilities are pretty endless, if he has a baseball bat, can you use a knife, or do you have to go hunt up a club? If he has a pocket knife, can you pick up a butcher knife? As far as shotguns, they work just fine, especially if loaded with slugs, but they are not a good weapon in a close contact situation where you may not have room to maneuver. Statistics can be misleading, those murders include all that are killed by guns, the purps shot in the act of commiting crimes are also included in those stats. If you like stats, there's that email that goes around occasionally about how many people doctors kill every year compared to guns, Doctors are about 10 times more likely to kill you than a gun.
  19. I couldn't agree with you more. What is the point in a continuous string of hi how r u going on all day? It teaches absolutly nothing and encourages bad grammer and spelling and a good start towards the complete inhability to deal face to face with real people. It is absoluly a huge waste of time and energy.
  20. I'm certainly glad that you guys posted your conversations. Now the rest of us won't have to go threw such garbage and waste our time!!! LOL, gads, I can't imagine being bored enough to go there and talk to such completly weird people.
  21. Welcome Hannah!Proud to see you finished your homework before coming to trap (or whatever it's called now) Hopefully it will take care of your boredom. Lots of reading and learning to do here. I always enjoyed art and drawing when I was in school. Only problem was I just wasn't all that good at it. Mediocre at best. Didn't stop me from trying though. Of course, that was way before the days of making computer graphics.
  22. Any bill that is over 1,000 pages long can not possible be good. Especially when those pages are written by lawyers and are virtually impossible for anyone else to read and comprehend. Let's face it when we can't agree on what our forefathers meant when they wrote the bill of rights, which is just about one simple page how on earth can we deal with a thousand pages of gobbly gook? By the way, I heard a lot of negative things that were in the bill during the debate over it, but not until it was passed did I hear mention that there is a bit about forcing micro chips on people, anybody hear that one????
  23. Ahhhh, but at least mud does not cause frost bite! And it washes off easily with a hose. In the dang winter the hose is probably froze up and you can't even use it!
  24. Oh yes, I agree, patience is long dead, along with respect, decency and especially common sense. Nobody wants to wait for anything anymore. Instant gratification is what it's all about. Granted, I hate waiting in line, or waiting for a web page to load just as bad as anybody else. But there are some times when patience can also be a pleasure. Like checking every day on the coloring of the first home grown tomato of the season. Watching and waiting as the first one turns from green to yellow, and finally that glorious day when it's red and ripe and you finally get to eat it. Same goes with with the first ripe plum. Reaching up threw the branches every day to give it a gental squeeze to see if it is soft and ripe and ready to eat. I think all that waiting is what helps make it taste so good!
  25. Years ago when I was working at a restuarant, my boss wanted to add a salad bar. He went to a seminar to learn about properly running one, and one of the subjects he learned was that there was scientific evidence that the color chartruse was proven to decrease the appetite, so it was a recomened color to have around buffets and salad bars to help prevent people from over eating. So yes, colors do impact our emotions.
