  1. Nicholas Sparks is not the sappy authoress I thought her to be... A dude is writing sappy books.... GENIUS!

  2. I can't believe a test topic got hijacked LOL .. But I was just checking a few discrepancies I noticed in the lite version And that's old Latin.. And I didn't know you spoke Klingon Ha ha ha ha.. Wow...
  3. Thank you so much Mrdee, this recipe was truly a life saver.. You have no idea how sick the family is from eating plain white / red sauce pasta (that's the only one my bro has mastered). My brother with the help of my mother followed your recipe and it turned out to be a really delicious dish (Wish I had taken the pictures). Do you by chance have a recipe that doesnt take too long in terms of prep & cooking? I usually skip meals since I don't get the time to cook but if you have a tasty recipe for a quick bite like a sandwich or maybe something with oatmeal.. I would LOVE IT! . The topic for quick recipes I opened years ago all have great ideas but I am sure you could add more to it And do add chicken dishes to it, could put my friends to some good use if the recipes are for quick cooking

    Gamma?

Hey Sheepdog,Seems like you got moved to another server already Basically, the server GAMMA which has been hosting all .trap17 member sites since the beginning was considered old enough to retire so accounts hosted on that server are being moved onto other xisto servers. You must have received one email explaining what I just said and this one is the second email that basically asks you to confirm that everything is ok.The external DNS configuration is for those using dns solutions like Xisto - Domains DNS management or cloudflare or dnscontrol or whatever...If your nameservers are not ns.computinghost.com you need to login to the place where your domain is registered and make sure you add the new ip but since you(sheepdog) are using the default ns.computinghost nameservers, you can simply ignore it As long as the xisto team knows that it is safe to disable the GAMMA copy of your website, you should be fine.
  5. Hey Bazar, Welcome to the forums, hope you'll enjoy posting here. The first thing you need to do is sign up at the billing area with the email address you used at Xisto, this way our system will know that you want to earn mycent too. Next you need to post just enough to earn 2 dollars, yep, the plans at xisto are as cheap as 1.95 USD per month and with the right kind of posts, you can earn that super fast. Avoid posting one liners, you'll have to post many many one liners to earn the same amount. Instead go to your favorite section and write to your heart's content about what you like (Make sure your post isn't copy/pasted.. Copy / Pasting material will get you banned from the forums). Answering your question, yes Joomla along with many other things are supported by xisto's free web hosting. You can always sign up at Xisto's sister site Xisto to earn from both places (Just make sure billing, Xisto & Xisto all have the same email address) Happy Posting and feel free to pm me if you have any other doubts. osagie2005, the money you earn through Knowledgeustra & Xisto are only for purchase of services provided by xisto. You cannot withdraw money / Mycents. You can always try the affiliate system supported by xisto. Every referral sale gets you money that can be withdrawn
  6. It sounds like a practical idea but in reality, it will create double posters and the forums will get crowded >.< The easiest way is like I said, report the topic you posted.. I am pretty sure it isn't all that difficult to click on one little button or PM me or any other mod. You need to understand that it isn't automated for a reason, we don't want plagiarized content (like tutorials) passing through. If you have a topic / post that needs attention simply report or PM it.. Simple!
  7. We've always had JSP around, we never really publicized it since the general users don't really care about it and not everyone is willing to buy a vps only for jsp support but its good to know that there is someone really interested in JSP And no, it should not be a problem running both PHP & JSP on the same server.
  8. OpaQue had that covered years ago but thanks for the offer It's like Rob said, earlier members would put a post in the moderated sections and then PM / report a moderator to look into it. Members used to even report the rubbish posts but Nowadays save one or two members, no one reports / pm's anything. The reporting is crucial now more than ever because we get posts not only from registered members but from guests also. Sometimes posts are missed and for that I am sorry but it really helps if the member reports the topic or gives us the link so that we can get to it quicker As for my moderator tagline, I am going to rehash my age old dialogue since I could not come up with anything wittier in such short notice "I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you "
  9. I am a big crazy fan of the emoticon sets given by Gmail (Google) . The smileys I am referring to can be seen when you Compose a new email, gives you a lot more options than the chat I think these come by default, I am not sure since I use the Extra Emoji lab to display smileys I never use So out of all the smileys I have ever used (yahoo, msn, icq, digsby, facebook & so on).. Gmail's smileys definitely WIN! They are not only super cute but they are much more different than the standard set of emoticons used by all other instant messaging services. I am going to add here my favorite smileys. Maybe you guys could share your favorite emoticons? Sadly our forums will not allow you to add GIF extension so using the image tool is futile. First Place Hat's off, this little smiley wins every smiley battle ever waged.. It is so cute.. Awwww .. Just looking at it cheers me up (maybe I'll go hug my cat now) Second Place Can you see the little fist waving angrily? Too cute Third Place Probably the most random smiley there is... as random as this topic perhaps?

  11. Agyat, you were caught plagiarizing material from other websites, those articles were really high quality posts but were stolen material. And to top it off, you didn't plagiarize stuff only on this board but you actually pulled the same stunt first on Xisto. Since then, your posts have been mostly average to mediocre & you haven't really been active regularly. If I saw a change in your activity and quality of posts, I would remove your warning. PM me if you have any further doubts about your warning but do not hijack this thread with your doubts.
  12. Agyat, you'll notice that you have a warning. This warn status is the reason you are not seeing any changes in your mycent. Once your warning has been removed, you will earn mycents once more.
  13. [media]http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/] While going through the daily news, I happened to come across this article about Google's Driver less car. Announced in 2010 after securing a patent, Google has been working on a car that could help automate further the process of traveling. The volunteer in question was Steve Mahan, a blind person who quite honestly seems to be loving every second of the ride The Google team modified a Prius for the sake of this project and apparently the driver less driver uses different technologies as sensors ranging from lasers, radars and video cameras. If you are interested in reading about other autonomous cars and general information on autonomous cars, here is the wiki . As many news websites have mentioned, the common advantages of having these bot cars is that it reduces the number of owned cars, parking hassles and possibly a lot of pollution. Though they have stressed this to be a solution for the blind, it could be a solution for a lot of people. Because if it is a solution for blind people, it obviously would mean that no sort of supervision is required to keep the journey safe and user friendly. Handicapped or recently handicapped people, old people who aren't as alert but still need a car. Pregnant women, drunk people, deaf people, those who can't drive. Epileptic people or even pet owners. A lot of people in this world needing cars but are not allowed to or cannot drive would really benefit. I would not mind if my car dropped me off at work and went along to do the same for others only to return back in the evening to pick me up Even though it is true that there are still a lot of hurdles that need to be crossed before this car is ever seen on the road, it is a nice dream to float on. I would only hope that existing rules for human drivers would get stricter if these cars are coming onto the road since even with the best of technology, no driver is more responsive than a human driver and we remove the reckless ones, driving can be fun for all once again. Anyone else has any thoughts on this new car?
  14. Our forum is pretty big Quatrux, please report the topic/posts you made so that I can find it easier
  15. Your feedback is much appreciated. Xisto - Web Hosting as a company does not encourage JSP support in the shared hosting environment, it isn't like the installation is impossible on the contrary, enabling jsp for a server is pretty straightforward but the user experience is not what you'd want. every single thing is run in moderation & with restrictions when dealing with a shared hosting server. The same applies to JSP. It would be good only for simple scripts and the chances of custom scripts running successfully is pretty low. We encourage JSP only in the virtual private server / dedicated server environment. And you already know that we have VPS packages as low as 20 USD. With a vps you could have jsp enabled without any sort of restriction
  16. Well, that's how it plays sadly.. Your site is as strong as your DNS provider. If Cloudflare's services were to fluctuate, your site surely would fluctuate.
  17. Cloudflare in a sentence is a service that delivers your website's data much faster with enhanced security. Cloudflare's service comes with both free & paid services, many people are opting for the free version but configuration of Cloudflare onto one's web hosting account can be tricky for those unfamiliar to DNS So I put together a tutorial to teach you on How to Add Cloudflare for Your Web Hosting Account. It is not generally Xisto - Web Hosting specific and 90% of the steps are the same. This is a tutorial for Linux/Cpanel hosting. To get started, you need :- Your Xisto - Web Hosting Cpanel Account & its username/password. (You can request your provider/Xisto - Web Hosting for your details if you don't have them. Your Xisto - Domains or Xisto - Support Login Details, the control panel is needed for the last step (Change of Nameservers). STEP 1 :- Create an Account with Cloudflare Pretty self explanatory but please make sure to keep the details to this panel very safe. Use the help of Strong Password Generator to create a strong password for the account. STEP 2 :- Select a Website Once again, pretty self explanatory, add the domain you want to configure Cloudflare for. Note :- Domain has to be registered & hosted in order for the service to work. STEP 3 :- Configure Records These records, the DNS records are crucial for the healthy working of your website. If any of your records is configured incorrectly, your website's performance could suffer majorly. It is best to add these records immediately to avoid any problems in the account. Now comes the main question.. " How do I find my hosting account's DNS records? " . By default, any site's DNS record is visible in its Cpanel / Control Panel which is where the Cpanel details come to good use. STEP 3.a :- FINDING CPANEL HOSTING DNS RECORDS Login to your Xisto - Web Hosting Cpanel account with the username & password, the login url is yoursite.com:2082 or yoursite.com/cpanel We will be using a very nifty tool called "Advanced DNS Zone Editor" provided by Xisto - Web Hosting Cpanel Hosting. Go to the Domains section and then click on Advanced Editor Or Use the Find tool on the left side of your Cpanel Home Page. Select the domain & wait for the DNS records to load. You should see this kind of a page, I have hidden my domain name which is why you see white spaces, your page will show YOURSITE.COM. (notice the dot/period in the end of the site name?) Note:- Your MX entries(mail server entries) can be found under Mail -> Mx Entry STEP 3.b :- FINDING DNS RECORDS (ALTERNATIVE METHOD) We can find a site's basic DNS details using an online site. A few good and easy to use sites are :- Who.is Network-tools Ping.eu You will be using the DNS Records service to get the details you need. Warning* :- If there you are unsure of ANYTHING, do not touch it. Change in any of the values could cause errors in your website or in the services. For any help with configuration, contact support with login details to both Cpanel and Cloudflare -> support(at)Xisto - Web Hosting(dot)com The first record we will add is the A record for your website. The A record is a DNS setting used to map / connect your site name to the webserver ip / your dedicated ip. It will do the job of making sure yoursite.com points to where you are currently hosted. Select Type "A" Name = yoursite.com. (Add the dot/period at the end of the website. It is important). Value = ip you see in Cpanel or in the online DNS record. TTL = 1 day Do the same for all your records EXCEPT for Nameserver records, these would be given by Cloudflare. And Don't forget the MX records. Your MX records will be based on your mail service CPANEL / WEBMAIL / LOCAL MX SETTINGS Type "MX" Name = yoursite.com. (with dot in end) mail handled by = yoursite.com. (with dot in end) with Priority = 0 GOOGLE APPS MX SETTINGS (Logic Plan users) Type = MX name = yoursite.com. (Do not forget the dot at the end of name and for mail handled by) mail handled by = ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. with Priority = 10 mail handled by =ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. with Priority = 20 mail handled by =ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. with Priority = 20 mail handled by =ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. with Priority = 30 mail handled by =ASPMX3.GOOGLEMAIL.COM. with Priority = 30 An example for CNAME & TXT just in case someone needs help adding these :- CNAME RECORD Type = Cname Name = www / mail / ftp and so on is an alias of yoursite.com. TXT RECORD Type = TXT Name = service Text Record value = "v=spf1 a -all" (with the " symbol) STEP 4 :- Choose Initial Settings Once more self explanatory with the except of the 3 types of optimization they give you with their content delivery network service (CDN) STEP 5 :- Update your DNS At this step, Cloudflare will have provided you a set of custom nameservers, you need to add these where your existing nameservers are. For this you need to login to your Xisto - Domains / Xisto - Support panel (Xisto - Support is the same place you login to pay your invoices and check your mycents) OR You domain management panel provided by the company that has registered your domain. Find your domain and change the nameservers to the ones given by Cloudflare And you are done The service should start working immediately but for complete propagation, please allow 24 hours. Clicking on Details will show you the above steps so if in case you want to add a missing DNS enty, login to your cloudflare account, go to websites and then click on "Details" of the account. If I have missed some information or you'd like to see something more in here, please pm me the details
  18. There are actually many clients at Xisto - Web Hosting using Clouflare services. Why don't you add a screenshot of the settings page and I or some other member will try to help you set it up right In the meanwhile, keep your nameservers to NS.COMPUTINGHOST.COM until all settings have been confirmed. Update:- After I read your post, I added a tutorial in case you are still facing problems setting up Cloudflare.
  19. The cellphone model I got as my first was purchased in a time when it was outright sacrilegious to own that particular model. The Nokia 3310 , but that phone is sheer awesomeness and If I could, I would still use it. It did nothing more than it was designed to do, calls, texts, contacts and those occasional picture messages. Remember those really awesome picture messages? I had some really weird ones That phone was invincible, crash tests, drop tests and water tests were a piece of cake for that phone. One of my phone's proudest moments was when it was accidentally dropped from a 10 foot staircase(I tripped while talking on the phone). It came crashing down to the ground floor, I ran after it, pieced it back together and called back my friend... With the current phone I have, I am scared of dropping it at a height of 3 feet let alone 10 But the current phone is a champion in its own right too, it has survived fat kitties and my constant onslaught on its keyboard & screen.
  20. The fear of a dentist has been genetically passed down from the last 3 generations, though mine is more of a detestation. I have sensitive teeth so I take special care in keeping them safe.. I don't wish to involve a dentist unless I am being fitted for dentures :lol:I have however been there as moral support for my cousin who had her wisdom teeth removed before getting braces fitted. Poor little thing, her fear of the dentist was extraordinary and when informed that she was not only getting braces but needed her choppers removed first, she almost died.. Well, she didn't die but she did faint before the procedure (so hilarious!).. She had just been given the painkiller and we were all waiting for it to kick in, as the dentist was prodding her gums her eyes just rolled back and her head just slumped.. Of course, we were freaked out.. Hell, even the dentist seemed to have assumed he doped her dead XDWell she woke up a minute later, attempted to scream but then sort of snarled and hissed at us... Her extraction went smoothly but she developed an infection much later when the braces were introduced to her.. She is now without braces and pretty particular about her teeth A common friend though was not all that lucky. He went in with a lot of pain, came back with a lot of pain and like shadowx ate something he was not allowed to and that led to a really bad infection... Never seen a grown man cry this bad :|
  21. Source The first picture is so funny and cute. It actually is an image of a sparrow fighting off an intruder but it represents perfectly the expression "Empty Nest Syndrome". "Not so fast" Father bird says as he stops sonny bird from flying away, Mom looks confused & helpless as usual Most youngsters go through this with their parents, I know I did
  22. You know what's worse? Buying one shady tomato who stealthily gets into a bag of healthy tomatoes and then comes back home to ruin a complete kg of not only the tomatoes but every other vegetable it shared bunker space with .Not only was the stink horrifying but all those yummy veggies dead and dying was heart breaking... My vegetable stew & steamed veggie rice lacked a lot of veggies We usually get lots of vegetables, flowers and fruits from a farmer's market but it still doesn't feel as great as picking one from my own garden.
  23. Yes, you can stay with your current plan if you are happy with it. Yes & No. You need to understand that the new hosting packages are being powered by a completely different server therefore its not like power packages are uncapped while your package is being run with capped resources. The Power Packages as the name suggests is for those who need greater technical support (CPU, RAM and so on). If your site is mainly made of text & a few images, the current hosting will not have any problem delivering those pages to 10, 50 or say 100 visitors at a time BUT say you have a heavy website, forums, image galleries, media oriented website and so on and you face a surge of visitors (expected or unexpected), this server will cater to everyone the same way it would handle a single visitor. This way the site does not buckle or slow down. The price difference is obviously because of the quality in service. Please don't hijack the packages thread with mycent complaints, this thread is only for questions, doubts & feedback on the new packages but as far as I know that the mycent script has been run daily since the last few days but if you still face issues please update one of your existing topics At RPG, yes, you can still have just bandwidth upgrades like you did recently
  24. Oh Yay! Feedback. Really good questions RPG. Yes, it means higher uptime reliability and it more than capable of handling a horde of sudden orcs visitors. What else would you like to know? And let's hope there isn't a bandwidth price difference...
  25. Firstly, to those who received multiple copies of the email, I hope you'll forgive us there was a slight hiccup.
