  1. Heh.. whats new about it ? First, Microsoft is always late in admitting that it has security holes - where other opensource browsers immediately declare the flaw and come up with patches, Microsoft will admit like once in a year - and come out with the patch sometime the following year - it's always been their policy. Nothing new .. heh.. once a crook always a crook.. I really don't understand their vain pride about the worst OS on earth..
  2. Dude... you have written all else - but didn't provide the download link.. lol.. Thats the most important thing here
  3. There. Rejected has already replied to you. You haven't even placed an application. how do you expect to get hosted ?
  4. hahahahahaa.... dude you're tooo funny. But the whole point here I think (apart from non-native english speakers with bad grammar) - is that most people have turned insanely lazy. I mean comeon, first of all you're not even moving an inch from your chair and having loads of fun with a wild bunch of people from all around the world - on top of that you act so lazy that you wouldn't even bother typing out whole words or sentences ??? What kind of attitude is that? It got even more degraded with hundreds of so-called cool CHAT-LINGO pilfering down the ranks. According to me - people who've been using the net for a long while now - are still better off, as they've come round.. It's the n00bs that have a complete class of their own The moment they get online they turn into these IMHO, BRB, BBL freaks - as if that was the language they ever learnt to speak.. most chatters develope a pretty good hand at typing - so any bull about being slow typists and thus resorting to shorter abbreviations is entirely unbelievable. I've been to irc chat-rooms (was hooked onto irc for 5 yrs at a stretch) where all you see are those TLA's (Three Letter Abbreviations - which itself is another TLA ) floating around. On top of that add the moderately new concept of going the |33t way - urggh.. that's another thing I can't stand at all... to me these are nothing but a bloody bunch of "nicompoops" (remember the favorite phrase of Captain Haddock ?? Anybody used to read Tintin series as a kid?) ... yeaah.. they're nothing short of nicompoops.. Anyways, I better stop - coz once I open my mouth on this topic I can't seem to retain control over my fingers... I could probably fill up 7-8 more pages of this... but what's the use. Nothing's gonna change at what I say!! They'll still carry on with their pseudo-intellection illusions of being the h@X0R l33t lame-to-the-core bullcrap... pheww.. worse than a bunch of maggots who at least have a definite purpose in life.
  5. Hehe.. that's what I'd thought at first.. but I've well over 6 different anti-spywares on my system - one of them Spyware Eliminator is a PAID copy too - with regular updates (almost everyday).. Nothing.. not a single spyware or virus on my system... Now I'm even more convinced it's Gates trying to open the gates of hell When it comes to AntiVirus and AntiSpyware - I don't compromise with $$ - it's simply NOT worth it when you consider the risk you're putting your poor system through.. I use paid versions of both.. and have 3-4 different kinds of free ones installed on my system too.. And dudes dudes... please - I've been using Firefox since AGES - ever since it came out first. It's the default browser on my system. I wouldn't think of using ANYTHING ELSE. Read what I wrote above - the only purpose of having IE on my system is to view the so-called "IE Compatible" pages, which in other words are non-compliant with W3C standards. I don't even have the goddamned IE icon anymore - I removed it looong back, ever since I made Firefox my default browser - it just went off, THANKFULLYYYY. That's my whole point - even though I don't use IE, when I DO want to use it WHY THE HELL WILL IT GO TO THE MSN PAGE ??? Why meeee... why pooor meeeee I'm warning you guys - you won't probably believe me right now.. but take it from me ..in about 10 years from now, if things go unchecked like this, Billy Goat will have complete control of your life.. he'll have all of us by our b@lls. Take it from me in writing.. By that time, probably every aspect of our lives will be controlled by computer - imagine a Windoze 2023 based House OS forcing you to take a bath in scathing hot water and forcing you to eat $hit ... err.. nvm.. I'm getting real ugly ideas..
  6. Try using up all 99 first - in a meaningful way, not just by creating random databases and spurious email addresses... and then come and ask for the "unlimited" 99 emails/dbs are much closer to unlimited than you might think.dude.. none of us manages to go much beyond 10 db's and emails..
  7. No problem at all. I really like you avatar - holding up the spirit of India truly Great man...Regards,m^e
  8. TCL stands for Tool Command Language - another of the scripting languages commonly used on Linux based platforms. Since it's a scripting language - it needs a TCL interpreter running in the background, very similar to the way Perl and PHP operate. You can obtain free distributions of TCL for both windows and linux at: http://www.activestate.com/activetcl As far as I remember, they offer a nice IDE for TCL too with syntax highlighting and code completion. To test your files, either you need to declare them executable and run them striaght off the shell - this option involves including the location of the interpreter in the first line of your script - similar to PERL. E.g.: #!/usr/bin/tcl Second option is to invoke TCL from the shell by typing tcl and then following it up with other commands to read the source file - or by passing the source file as an arguement to it. You'd need the linux binaries to test your .tcl files on linux. Activestate also offers distributions of Perl & Python too. Regards, m^e
  9. Bandwidth saving tips: No MP3s No Videos Reduce image quality a bit and use JPEG or PNG MP3s and Video files are massive bandwidth hogs - so are high-resolution, high-quality pictures. As you've stated yourself, it is a good idea to host your pictures elsewhere and provide thumbnails on your page here. That will surely save you a hell lot of bandwidth.
  10. I just checked through the shell - and Xisto indeed does not have ruby installed. So am sorry to say, your cgi code won't execute. It's got php and perl though - if that serves your purpose.
  11. See you're safe as long as your credits don't dip below -30. When it dips below zero, your hosting account gets suspended automatically, i.e. when people try reaching your page, they get a page syaing your account has been suspended. To rectify this, all you need to do is make some posts again and bring your credits back above 6 and wait for an hour. Our credits system does an hourly run, checking all hosting accounts and suspending/unsuspending accordingly. But if you've dipped below -30, then you're in trouble, coz after one month of inactivity (which corresponds to -30 credits) your hosting account gets auto deleted. In that case you've to re-apply for hosting again. Regards, m^e
  12. I don't think the group account is possible anymore.. coz those plans have been scrapped. Right now we're offering only the Starter and Regular packages - you've sufficient credits to apply for the regular package. You should do it right now without increasing you credit count, because irrespective of whether you have 30 or 90 credits, when your account is created, the count dips down to 3. SO start building up on your credits once you've got the hosting account. You can make this as a base - and start your site again... later on if you think you've way more load, you can shift over to our cheap paid hosting which starts at $10/year - very affordable I believe.Regards,m^e
  13. Errrr.. what is this "THING" that you're talking about ?? Does it have a name? Try reading it off the box (assuming that it is a box) - most likely the "THING" is what we would call a HUB.Also do you have any DOGS or CATS? They're one of the BIGGEST causes of network failure. Trust me on it. Personal experience over many years speaks in here Check your cables for teethmarks. If cables are fine, then it's could be the hub, although hubs don't go bad so easily, unless one receives a massive electric surge. You should try and get new cables and see first (coz that's the cheaper option). If that doesn't work out - then it's can be the "THING" or even the Network Cards inside you computer box (where the network cables get plugged into)..Regards,m^e

  15. Most of these CMS/Forums/Wiki CLones - all store their DB Login/Passwords in a file called config.php - it's almost like a rule... search for some file like that in your coppermine directory. The fie should contain just a few lines of code like: <?php$user = 'something'$pass='something'$dbname='someotherthing'?> If you can't spot the file, try looking into the coppermine login script - you'll get an idea what the login/pass variables are - that are used to connect to your db. You can then go a grep of your coppermine files and see if any file comes up with a matching pattern. (You need shell access for this - which you can make a request for in the hosting forum)... 16. Yup - you heard it right!!Not that I have much use of that piece of trash anyways - but Microsoft never made any attempt to make your life easy by providing you with an option to remove IE. SO whatever other favourite browser of yours you might be using, IE will still lurk around in some corner of your system and keep popping up (irritating to the core) windows sometimes on request of some external application (that's another thing that eludes me - why do windows application developers NOT resort to popping up readme's using your system default browser??) It's like once you start developing applications for windows - you hand over your life, soul and everything to Devill Gates..I download a whole bunch of new softwares and keep trying and trashing my system 5 times a week in the process. When we had Win95, I'd to reinstall my system on an average of 2.5 times a week. The reason of all this raving and ranting - is, now some application (which I cannot spot) - has managed to Hijack my IE start page. When I fire up IE - it ALWAYS starts loading either microsoft.com or msn.com - WTF?? I tried everything - registry edits & hacks, windows tweaks, 100's of antipsyware and antiviruses - NOTHING, ZILCH.. no one can save IE from loading the MS sites on startup. Not that I'm bothered anyways - coz as I said, I use IE RARELY to view some of the so-called "IE compatible" pages. But even so, this is outright outrageous. And this is also a first - never before I've seen anything like this. Talk about gloating on your own product...boy, microsoft is surely in love with every inch of what it has designed. Big Brother?? This is just the start. Rather they've laid the foundations well. Phewww.. wouldn't even leave the goddamned browser startup page alone. Last I heard MS has started a new division along with it's TQM (Total Quality Management) - this one's called TCM, C being for Control.... on your wretched, pathetic, miserable existence... which of course, MS is trying to elevate you out of, by taking you to your most desired site of the day/month/year/lifetime through their hell's angel IE...Enough...
  17. Yaah man absolutely.. from what you describe, next time the world will face meteor showers when you try to do that.. heh.. The tsunamis (no offense) - prolly were caused by some dolt trying to replace windoze with linux Once again we come upon the age old adage - Hell hath no fury like Devill Gates scorned.
  18. Hi guys, As more and more people get hooked onto the net - from a diverse range of countries, SPAM mails are acquiring a completely new shape as demonstrated by this mail I received today... Add the advantage (or disadvantage) of online translation engines - which produce translations which are almost entirely unlike the original sentences - but not quite. While most of it wouldn't make ANY SENSE at all, it's still worth a try reading through it and decipher something.. i mean I could find some very funny stuff "encoded" in this half-translated mumbo jumbo.. Lets see what you guys come up with - entirely depends on your perception of the sentences. Give it a shot and prove your decoding abilities All I could do was stare at it for a good part of half an hour and then burst out into a massive laughter roll... lolololol...
  19. I'll make it sweet and short... Take a look at this page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ It has straight out examples of how to fetch all databse names, table names, field names and row results using those commands... all sandwiched together - but you shouldn't have problem figuring out. very easy syntax.. Regards, m^e
  20. Would you mind expanding BFME? It's not good to leave people wondering you know!!
  21. Netbux is one of the biggest scams in recent times. It's owner Chad French ran off with tens of thousands of dollars. Paypal was quick enough to freeze his account - so some of the luckier people are still getting their money back. But Stormpay, in a desperate bid to take up from where PayPal left off, started handling his account. Right before running away Chad French cleared out his Stormpay account which was supposed to have well over $10,000 - the money which a whole bunch of super-idiots payed him to buy referals for netbux.. hehe... Now netbux's site redirects to some other site called searchdoodle.comTopic closed.
  22. Yup it's quite possible I believe - but it would eat up your monthly bandwidth in a matter of moments. So decide well on how much data you want to telecast, calculate your figures well and see how many people you can server per month/day...If you're going to telecast in form of .mov/.avi/.mpg files hosted on your site - it can surely be done .. but if you want to resort to some other kind of livecast server - then am sorry, we do not provide such facilities.Regards,m^e

  24. Great job there tansgrx Moved to tutorials section. Are you good with GDI+ ?? I'm trying to design an opensource alternative for common charting control, i.e. design a freeware opensource class library which will allow you to draw excel like charts in your windows app in a jiffy. Are you interested in joining hands with me ? I'm infact trying to design a whole bunch of such utilitirian controls - to facilitate different aspects of vb & c# coding. Let me know..
