  1. That's quite easy in fact. You need to define a HR element in your CSS. Although note that there's some discrepancy in the CSS tags across different browsers. Somewhat like this: hr {height: 2px;color: #663300;width: 80%;} IE supports the color tag, while Mozilla and Opera support background-color. You can even use the tag background-image to replace the standard boring rule with some nice separator graphic. Here's a page outlining all you need to know about the HR tag: Styling HR
  2. You need some Editor that has autocompletion - in order to ease you out with the PHP syntax in the initial stages. Also you need syntax highlighting and error checking. There are several such editors out there - am sure the PHP gurus here will be able to point them out. As for myself, I'd suggest Zend Studio - although, it's a mighty expensive package.
  3. Don't think so - this forum's been lying dormat over a LOOONG period of time. I'm fairly decent in .NET oriented languages though - C# and VB.NET primarily. I've long given up on VB6 and never bothered trying out VBScript.Still if you want to share your code samples with us - not a problem at all. Just go ahead
  4. YIKESS - just 128MB ?? Then you shouldn't keep it running. XP itself takes up most of your RAM leaving very little to other applications and thus increasing disk-paging hundredfolds. No wonder you system's slow. You can alwyas turn it on when you're reading mail - but that kinda spoils the fun
  5. Hey guys, ????[/tab]I came to know of this service quite sometime back through one of the Ad Banners at Asta. I've been using it for over 1.5 months now. It's a new service intriduced by BlueSecurity.Com. You simply download this tiny client which sits in your System Tray and helps you fight spam - but with a difference. ????Rather than being just another one of those anti-spam tools, this one actually scans all your spam mails and then lists the sender domain/services in their own database. Then they approach those particular spam vendors and keep bugging them till they are forced to remove your address from their database. ????If you're using an email client like Outlook or Thunderbird, the spam reports are sent directly to the BlueFrog database. In case you use only Web-mail, BlueFrog supports Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail. In both IE and Firefox it installs a small toolbar that comes up ONLY when you've logged into your email account. When you click on the REPORT SPAM button in that toolbar, it automatically scans your SPAM folder and sends those mails to their own database for further pursual and action. For fun's sake, they even give you a Weekly Ranking according to the number of spam reports you sent in. ????I can't say for sure how effective this service is - but surely in my mail Gmail account - they managed to get me unsubscribed from quite a few spam services and as a result I havent received a single spam in that for well over 2 weeks. It allows you to add in as many email accounts as you want - and protects them all. Many of the spam sites work on the Opt-Out principle - but it's a tiresome job to go to each site and opt yourself out. BlueFrog does just that job for you - in a single button click. Here's a screenshot of BlueFrog in action on my Gmail account: BlueFrog can be downloaded from: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ????Funny enough - today in my Microscopic.Earthling_AT_Gmail account I received this threatening mail from one of the spammers. Really nasty threat that they're going to SPAM my inbox out of existence if I didn't unsubscribe from BlueFrog. So it seems their service has really got the spammers bugged - BIG TIME. When I checked out the BlueFrog community, I found out a lot of members have received similar mails and the spammers seem to have got real desperate now to try something like this. Here's a copy of the mail: [tab]Anyway - the point is, I think you guys should give this service a try. It might be well worth it. At least my mail account entirely stopped getting spams.
  6. Here you go.. someone of Soulseek pointed a site out to me about a book on the "real" Atlantis (yeah I know - it's most likely to be "another" of those) which claims that India and Indonesia were parts of the real Atlantis prior to the continental drift. That might explain all that advanced technology described in the Vedas. Hell.. the Atlanteans supposedly even mastered Anti-Gravity, which has been outlined in the ancient Sanskrit scriptures.. That might be a possible explanation of the whole picture. Here's the site: http://atlan.org/
  7. I'm afraid I don't know much about Imagemagick - but since you've got shell access, if you know the name of the library file(s), why don't you use a which command to figure out the path. As far as I know, Imagemagick is installed here.. which will show you the path. Example - you want to find bash CONSOLE shell> which bash /bin/bash
  8. Since OpaQue has gone missing again, can you please file a request with the Xisto helpdesk? The server admins there might be able to help you out there - since for this you need access to the server root. Simply visit the helpdesk and file a request with them.
  9. There's an excellent extension for Firefox called BookmarkBackup. I've been using it for a LONG time now. You simply set a folder on a different partition in that extension. Everytime you close down firefox, it saves your latest bookmark list into that folder. It even creates SEVEN folders below it, one for each week-day, so you can in effect revert back to the settings of any of the past 7 days. Optionally, you can set this extension to backup not just your bookmarks, but your cookies, form-fillup data, url history - almost any and every firefox settings. This has helped me beyond imagination. Everytime I've reinstalled my system, I've simply copied one of those folders back to my Profile folder of firefox and when I fired it up, it was in the EXACT same condition I'd seen it last before the reinstall. You can find this one at: 1. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ 2. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ This one is a MUST HAVE.
  10. It should work for you - your rights were still there. But just to be sure, I revoked and granted again - maybe last time the config files slipped up somewhere Try now and let me know.
  11. That's the case. Even if your mouse moves around or keys tap, even then it's going to bug you every 10 minutes and do that countdown unless you intervene. It's one hell of a nasty, nagging *****. It happened to me just 3-4 days back. I usually never have that auto-update thing on. Who the hell needs autoupdate?? But I'd freshly reinstalled XP on my new 160Gig.. and I forgot to turn it off. Man - it drove me insane... I granted it a reboot but completely turned off auto-complete since then. I ain't going to give it that sadistic pleasure again .. I stiched the *****'s mouth up for good.
  12. Yep - extremely interesting and well-written article. I'll have to sit and ponder over it for a while Reading through this led me to do a whole bunch of Google searches.. I'll try add in some more later on.
  13. I've downloaded and installed this one quite sometime back and I'd say definitely a BIG improvement in terms of performance and stability. And very very feature rich. The cool thing is now - you can hover your mouse over any of the open tabs and you get a thumbnail preview popup of the page loaded in that tab.. that's really cool. I didn't like the inbuilt torrent downloader much. Not very flexible and doesn't give you much of a control. I'd prefer to use a separate torrent client. Still a lot of features to explore. Overall I'll say GOOD WORK
  14. HIGH HOPES Can I interest you in this service called Gmail instead?
  15. Wait a sec... something wrong with the site.. Wouldn't load at all for me
  16. I looked around and this is the definition I found - There's a very good site dedicated solely to file extensions. Its called FILExt - The File Extension Source and can be accessed at: http://filext.com/ Other than that, there's always Google search A simple ".att file" would have fetched you a whole bunch of results.. Click on this link for the search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=.att+file&s:en-US:official
  17. There are a BUNCH of posts on exactly the same topic. Check under Security Issues and Exploits forum. In future consider using the SEARCH feature before making such repeat posts. Follow up on the older threads. Topic closed.
  18. Good GOD Put on some clothing - real quick !!!!!! ;)Although this is just at the teething stages - good job nevertheless. Keep it coming. Am waiting to see the end product.
  19. 20. Superglue and the alikes are all cyano-acrylate compounds - the chemical name suggests these might be extremely harmful if soaked into your bloodstream.. But I believe that for some reason, the molecular bonds formed in the end products render them harmless. Superglue, infact is very common wound reparation medium among athletes. A piece of sticky-stretchy bandaid might not feel very comfortable while running/jumping.. plus it takes a while to stop the bleeding. Superglue on the other hands is totally unobtrusive and seals the wound in a matter of seconds. Guess where I learnt this one.. Anyone watch the TV Series - MONK - the detective series involving the character Adrian Monk, starring Tony Shalhoub ? This was there in one of the episodes.. and then later on it got me interested and I looked up on the net and found it to be true. I'd gathered some snippets from the net longtime back - here they are:
  21. Not really... the names Banta and Santa originated amongst the Sikhs themselves... infact almost all their jokes revolve around these two characters
  22. This came to me by mail today. Once again - this is a bit contextual and quite a bit of the joke would be lost upon the rest of the world if I don't add in a minor explanation.. The Singh surname bearing Indians are usually the turbaned variety you'll find in almost any part of the world. Back home they're known as the Sikhs, i.e. they follow the religion Sikhism (click for more info on Sikhism). Anyway - because of their tightly wrapped heads, it's believed that a good part of their brain fails to grow due to lack of enough breathing room Errrr.. No offense to the Sikhs.. but this is a widely known & accepted joke back home, even among the Sikhs.. Another one making rounds is that 12 o'clock midnight sharp, their brains revolt on them and shut down Anyways .. here's over to Mr. Banta Singh, who probably sat down to write this sometime after midnight ====================================================== Banta singh to bill gates Dear Mr. Bill Gates, This letter is from Banta Singh from Punjab. We have bought a computer for our home and we found problems, which I want to bring to your notice. After connecting to internet we planned to open e-mail account andwhenever we fill the form in Hotmail in the password column, only ****** appears, but in the rest of the fields whatever we typed appears, but we face this problem only in password field. We checked with hardware vendor Santa Singh and he said that there is no problem in keyboard. Because of this we open the e-mail account with password *****. I request you to check this as we ourselves do not know what the password is. We are unable to enter anything after we click the 'shut down 'button. There is a button 'start' but there is no "stop" button. We requestyou to check this. We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friend clicked 'run 'has ran upto Amritsar! So, we request you to change that to "sit", so that we can click that by sitting. One doubt is that any 're-scooter' available in system? As I findonly 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home. There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lostthe door key and we tried a lot for tracing the key with this ' find', but unable to trace. Is it a bug?? Every night I am not sleeping as i have to protect my 'mouse' fromCAT, So i suggest u to provide one DOG to kill that cat. My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoftsentence', so when u will provide that? Best regards, Banta singh
  23. Try http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ - I always get from them. They've got really high quality icon packs - or at least they used to.. I haven't checked on them recently. You get them in all formats you want. I use them left and right in my applications.
  24. THATS *BLEEP* lol.. the blood group wouldn't match - the brains would throttle.. Think of how liver/kidney transplants get rejected because the groups and dna don't totally tally. Even close matches often get rejected - and here we are talking about the goddamned HEAD Imagine what would happen if your body rejects your head. Where did you learn this btw ?
