Whats With The AMD Sempron 2800+ Need help please
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Citezyne's topic in Hardware Workshop
Sounds pretty much like overheating problems. Check if the FAN + heatsink is properly affixed on top of the CPU. In any case, the ideal thing to do would be to get some silica gel (the heatsink contact paste) and sandwich a thick layer between the heatsink and the chip surface and then give it a shot.. -
Ideas For Using VB To Program Nokia S60 Phones

pooh pooohh.. baby boy in love with VisualBaby, eh ? Believe me - none of the computer languages are all that different from each other. Infact you learn one of them well - the others are mere child's play. Structurally they're all extremely similar - but of course there are minor/major syntactical differences between them. But almost all of them revolve around those same few commands like print/writeln, if-else, while/do-while, for/foreach, switch/select.. you don't go much far beyond that.. Just need to get yourself motivated enough and adjust to the new syntax.. and a whole new world opens up to you... -

It's really hard to compare between the two from a gaming standpoint.See, first of all, Linux was never meant to be for gaming. In it's primary field of expertise - OS Resource Usage, Networking & Security - it far outshines Windows. The performance of Windows in those spheres is at best miserably pathetic. On the other hand - Windows was designed to be the average end-user desktop system and those are the people who play a hell lot of games. Thus Windows has a pretty powerful graphical engine, which helps games work real smooth. Then again - there are games specifically designed for Linux - which work equally well. It entirely depends on the coding & the gaming engine.WINE isn't a solution by any means - but yeah, it's supposed to make your transition from Windows --> Linux a lot easier by letting you run some of your favourite Windows appz on Linux. That's about it.

Re: How Can I Play World Of Warcraft For Free ?, Online
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Droppin's topic in Computer Gaming
Now you're being the biggest jacka$$ of all and a total jerk. First and foremost: The behaviour you're showing is totally unacceptable on our board. What you're trying is to basically start a FLAMED thread. I've issued you a warning for that already. If you want to stick around, you've got to learn the virtues named humility and peaceful co-existence. Else we don't have much use for you on our board, you worthless piece of cow-crap. Next time you tell people to read the post - make sure you READ it first - for in no place the author indicated that there are free servers with the original code from Blizzard. All he wanted was to find a way of playing WoW without paying a penny. The responses from other members were also on similar lines as moonwitch warning him not to discuss illegal methods of playing WoW. SO GO READ THE POSTS YOURSELF FIRST. There's an old adage on this - "PRACTISE WHAT YOU PREACH" and that seems to have originated solely keeping people like you on mind. -

Is your project closed source or are you willing to share your code with the world? If so, I recommend you to start it as an opensource project at our sister site: Antilost.Org and publish the code there. Will take a look at the software and put in my reviews. -
This is something that I'd directly relate to the amount of RAM you have. When I had 512MB - I used to go through the same problems. Too many tabs would freeze up firefox or simply make the tab-switching action extremely slow and unresponsive. But once I got 1.5GB - aha, well.. entirely different scenario. I could have about a bizillion tabs open together without even discernably slowing down firefox.. That's the situation I enjoy now - and I enjoy every single bit of it, thoroughly.. There once again we come upon a totally unavoidable problem. Actually, firefox loads much faster than that in the barebones (without any extensions) mode. As you keep adding more and more extensions the load time increases. But even otherwise, it would be extremely difficult or close to impossible to make the firefox startup time anywhere near IE - coz, as I mentioned earlier, most of the IE code is already loaded when you boot into Windows. What you see when you click on the IE icon - is just the GUI frontend. The rendering engine and all other associated function libraries are already nicely cached in the RAM way before that. Firefox can never get to do this, unless MS in a freakish turn of events decided to release their core API library as opensource...

Pandela.Com: New Free Webhost With Lots of Features
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to ewwink's topic in General Discussion
Lol.. ok.. Nice interface, but errrm.. the features offered are nothing to cry out loud about.. extremely basic, specially when compared to what you get here. The worst part is the SINGLE MySQL database with only 2MB storage quota. Urggh.. Horrible. That's enough alone to put me off. If you install any decent board/blog software - half of that space is already blown.. what will you store in the REST?? Something like 10-15 posts?? -
ganesh: First and foremost what you GOT TO LEARN IS PATIENCE. Multiple posts on the same thing in a row is considered extremely bad manners. Once you've made your post - you WAIT for other members to read and reply.. Two things you SHOULD NOT do if you want to survive here: 1. Keep making one post after the other (flooding) in the same thread. 2. Keep flooding the shoutbox asking others to read your posts. None of the above actions will ever get you the desired help - it will only serve to piss everyone off. On our forums - PATIENCE is one virtue you got to learn rightaway... Anyway - I posted back with the shoutbox installation instructions: http://www.hugedomains.com/domain_profile.cfm?d=antilost&e=com

We cannot send you to this new address, unless you set it as your default address for your own profile on this board. Whatever email your profile has - the hosting activation mail goes directly to that. I tried changing your profile email address - but there's a conflict with another members profile - which contains the same email address. The member's nick is Hollander, join date: 21/04/2006 and I'm assuming it's you who signed up with antoher nick. Anyway - first you need to delete your other account (Hollander) and then set the p.meiring@iinet.net.au to your cherri account and then let me know. Only then I'll send the activation mail again..

Here's a cool addition to your Firefox - an extension called IE Tab - which lets you view those IE-only/IE-optimized pages without ever leaving your favourite browser. This renders those pages using the IE engine. You can grab it at: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ You can even set certain pages to load in IE only mode - for example the MSN range.. when you type in the URL Firefox automatically launches an IE Tab and opens the page in it. This way, you can always view the same page side-by-side in two tabs in both Firefox and IE mode and check out the differences... Who needs IE anyway

Art For My Book Stuff that i have done
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Citezyne's topic in Graphics, Design & Animation
You can upload your images at ImageShack and post the thumbnails in your post here - or alternatively, you can upload them to the Xisto Gallery for public viewing... -
You cannot remove that - even in Licensed copies of IPB. That falls within their basic Terms Of Service. Your board will always show that - unless you pay some extra $100 to Invision to get that removed. All these are separate add-on Modifications - each of which come with detailed instructions on how to incorporate them into your copy of IPB. Most of these called be found at Invisionize.Com. You just need to be a little patient and wade through all that documentation that accompany these mods.. If you do so, installing them is but a mere breeze.. as the instructions provided are extremely accurate.

Squid Proxy: Port 3128 - Connection Problems
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to Nivedita's topic in Websites and Web Designing
It's funny that it refuses to connect. Usually, when you set the download managers to work through a HTTP proxy, they should work irrespective of the protocol in use. What you're describing is Squid ( http://www.squid-cache.org/ ) - a standardized proxy server for Linux based systems - though they've introduced a compiled binary meant to run under Windows with the help of the Cygwin libraries ( http://www.cygwin.com/ ). As for Cyberoam - it's not simply a bandwidth shaper - but more of a unified threat management client (IDS/IPS) for corporate networks. It's written by EliteCore Tech ( http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ ). I dunno how its doing it - but most likely, Cyberoam is dropping any kind of data packets other than basic HTTP. That might explain why your download managers fail to work over the proxy. We use another product of EliteCore called 24-Online for logging onto our cable internet back home. Maybe going through all these sites might shed some light on your problem. In any case just wait up and see if anyone's able to provide you with a solution. -
I'm not so sure about your cable requirements - but rest assured, the speed through cables should be WAY MORE than any wireless medium such as bluetooth. That's almost always the case - a physical medium like cable is always a better singal carrier.

Since it's a DVD player it'll play CD's as well - why don't you burn them on CDs and give them to her ?? Or do you have such a large amount of pictures that you need a DVD to fit them on? Anyway - here's a whole list of them specifically cut-out to make slideshows. Some are shareware, some freeware.. Take your pick: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ And in case you want to check out other pages, here's my Google Search results: https://www.google.com/search?q=free+pictur:en-US:official

Strange IPB 2.1.4 Errors While Sending PM
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to WeaponX's topic in Software
Are they using some cracked copy??? That might explain - some sort of code alternation cascading to this.I've used several versions of IPB now here at Xisto and elsewhere.. the original paid copies and never had a single problem - specially with the unmodded code straight out of Invision's box. -
A Few Questions About Linux.
miCRoSCoPiC^eaRthLinG replied to iceblade1405241492's topic in Websites and Web Designing
See the coolest thing about Linux is whatever GUI & Packaging Method every distro uses - there's this baseline conformity amongst ALL of them. All use the very same kernel with very minor modifications. Switching over from one to the other can be done without the slightest hiccup. But I gotta agree with MC - that on the server front FCx and RHEL - have a distinct advantage, as their kernels are really well-optimized for networked computing. I'd last used RHEL AS3 and then tried out FC2 and haven't looked back ever since. Now I'm using FC4 and wouldn't think of switching over to any other OS even if I was paid a million bucks.. (a billion?? umm.. maybe.. but still doutbful) MC's post tells me that I need to get a taste of FC5 soon -

*BUMP* so that nightfox takes notice of the solution I posted.. I need to know whether it works out for him too.. then it'll alleviate a lot of doubts.. and I''ll know for sure that the reason I was thinking was indeed the real reason behind this problem.
