I remember the fun I had with this game... I used to visit every star system and do sat least 5 missions on every station. The open ending was great, not to mention the story which I could say was a masterpiece. Also I remember the huge map (amazing was that the game had only one CD). Overall I could say that Freelancer is in top 10 games of history.

Well I have used a Mac only twice in my life. The first was an ordonary Mac... it was a hard experience for me... I was trying to write an email and beeing used to the keyboard of normal computers I made a lot of spelling mistakes. Not to mention the single click mouse which was indeed a horrible experience. It's hard enought with a mouse without a scroll, but without right click it's a nightmare. The second time I used a Mac (a miniMac) was in a store. I was amazed by the small size (and by the price tag but that is another story).Personally I wouldn't spend a lot of money on a computer on which I can only install Mac OS X (even Linux beats OS X on software support... I really can't imagine what I could do with OS X). I have read in a PC magazine about the fact that they are dropping the G series of CPU's in favor of intel pentium... maybe someday they will change their OS or give us the option to change it...

Yes, it sounds great! Only if it will happen. You know that in the early '80 someone at NASA had a working plan to build and colonize the moon. It was predicted that by the year 2000 there would have been more then 800 people on the moon. But of course the cold war was almoust over and there was no need to spend billions of dollars on space explorations. So the project was halted (i can only imagine what would have happened it the cold war lasted a 100 years... the permanent contest between nations would have had a great impact not only for space explorations, but for science in general). Just think where we would have been now if the project had a "go for launch". We would have had a permanent base from where we could have venture into the solar system. Now they spend billions of dollars on a pointless war rather then discovering what is far out is space. Not to mention that as you probably know NASA missions are halted because of the Columbia incident and the more recent trouble. Lack of founds?!? Space is a very long-term investment and it seems the Bush administration isn't very interested in our future (as long as we can have oil and $ right now, why should we think about our children). Without billions of dollars shuttles are going nowhere. I can only hope that someday the moon will be like a second home for humanity...

I can say I have quite an experience when it comes to Firewalls or Antivirus software. I have tried a lot of firewalls and antivirus solutions, but I can say I have found my "one true love". Till this day I have tried everything from Norton Antivirus and Norton Firewall, to ZoneAlarm and BitDefender. I had a great time with ZoneAlarm which at some point seemed great for me. Still with the new versions there started to be problems with it like not loading everything (for example I couldn't use a LiveSupport system... I tried everything it just didn't want to load with ZoneAlarm). Since I had those problems I started thinking I have to look for a new firewall solution. And I had decided to try BitDefender (it's made in my country so there were patriotic resons involved) which also had along with the AntiVirus solution (which by the way it great... didn't have any problems with viruses since I installed it...well I had some...I use dc++ quite a lot and get a lot a viruses, But BitDefender detected and deleted them corectly) a firewall module which isn't that advanced but it has the basic functions. I use BitDefender firewall with the Windows Xp firewall on and I can say I didn't have any spyware or such. Also BitDefender is great on resources (I have seen + and - on my friends computers but I have been very happy with it), I think much better then Norton Antivirus for example. You should try it someday...

I totaly agree. I mean of course cell phone are good for those who really need to be in contact with their boss or whoever. But for me cell phones are not a must have object. I'm 17 years old and I can't say I receive many calls... That's why I could live almoust as good without a cell phone. So YES moust of the time cell phones are annoying...

Oh ... i'll be the only one having only one computer?!? .I never wanted to keep the old PC (I only changed the hole pc once, I mainly upgrade it) because of the obvious financial reason. But of course it would have been great if i had kept my old pc (athlon 1700+, 256mb RAM, 120GB) at my gradparents but the new pc (athlon 64 3000+, 1GB RAM, 200GB) was quite expensive so keeping the old one was out of the question. I wonder how many computers I'd buy if I had the money that Bill gates has??? Just dreaming...

i'm not going to be very romantic with this... but it is my opinion... it would be one of the most stupid things you could do. Why? Because first of all you don't know who is on the other end of the line (I know a website - it's in romanian else i would give you the link- which fools stupid people into doing crazy stuff thinking for example that on the other end of the line is a beautiful blond = just imagine what someone would do in front of a webcam and you'll realize what is the definition of stupidity)... so boys and girls have a second thought before becoming madly inlove with someone over the internet

I think faster then light travel is possible. Einstein was indeed briliant for his time and for ours, but there may come a time when people will have much more data about the univers and the way it works. We don't even know if the univers is infinit or not. Some say it is, others say the univers has the shape of a donut (don't laugh... consider we are a ant on the surface of a donut-the ones with the hole in the middle- and you will realise that in the ants vision no matter how much she travels the donut will seem infinit to her).Since we don't even know the basics of how the univers worked, works and will work we will never know what are its limits. Every theory is limited by the power of our imagination. It's not that hard to imagine going back in time...

It is not exactly a technology and it is not exactly new, but it is something that can speare us some money in the near future. What is it? It's called Vista Inspirat Shell Pack. It has been more then 2 years since our beloved Bill and Microsoft have released the news that the new Windows (then called Codename Longhorn, now Vista) will be released in late 2006. It promised lots of things with a much greater need for resources. But since then things have changed a bit (more), in bad for Microsoft. They decided to give up on most of the new stuff that was going to be released in the new Windows. Not only that makes the new Windows useless (who would give ~200$ for a new theme and new icons), but also with the expense of upgrading the hardware... yes....because even if they droped the new stuff (like WinFS, the new database based indexing system) still it requires quit heavy computer power. Some say that Microsoft is giving a helping hand to the open-source community (more exactly Linux). Anyway because of what happened some people have decided that even if you won't upgrade the OS you will still want the new themes and icons (and most of the UI of Vista). So they have developed Vista Inspirat Shell Pack. What it does: It patchs some Windows files and makes your Windows Xp (32bit editions) look like Vista (I have tried them both...the real thing and the shell pack and they look almoust identical). All without any performance loss (yes ...you read well...not performance loss)... And with the help with some tools also included in the pack you can make menus transparent, etc. It even has a Mac docking (which looks fantastic but makes you CPu scream...). In conclusion you have to try this. (forgot to tell you that it is universal... that means that no matter what language you Windows Xp uses it will work great). Tell me what you think after installing it...

I think we will still have newspapers in the future. Why? Because even with the bloom of the Internet (I really think that the Internet hasn't reached its full potential) the conventional paper will get far beyond when the cable can get. At least for the next 10-20 years. But that is not the only reason. Everyone has or had a pdf book or tutorial. You remember how hard and boring it is to read long things from the computer screen. Having a book in your hand lets you enjoy it on your sofa in a much better position then sitting at the table. But of course newspapers will loose some of their fans in the future and someday there will be no more conventional newspapers. But that day is still far away into the future...

Don't worry about this kind of emails. I receive them in daily basis. Every day I receive about 3 or 4 emails with the binary attachement in place (aka virus). Also once or twice a week I receive those fake emails from yahoo.It would be great if you could send an email to the real yahoo to tell them about the fake email. I'm sure every report helps in stoping those spammers.

Well i'm 17 years old and I have a mobile phone (Sagem MyX 5-2) for over 2 years (so I got my first mobile phone when i was 15 years old). In this (more then) 2 years i have changed my mobile phone only once and not because I was disperate to have a new one, but because the mobile phone that my mother had broke down and I made an exchange between her, my father and I.At school mobile phones are like a trend. I think more then 95% of the students have a mobile phone. About the youngest person that I know having a mobile phone is a 10 year old. I personally don't see the need for a mobile phone at such an young age, but it seems parents do stupid things sometimes. To be honest I could live easly without a mobile phone, i'm not a person who depends with his life on a mobile phone. I rarely get any important calls so a mobile phone is not that important for me.

I'm not too proud to say that I've never had a girlfriend to this day... and I'm 17. I realise that there are a lot of people that by this age have lost their you know what... . I just haven't found a female that is attractive enought for me and I am for here. I have one friend which has a special charisma around girls... He doesn't have many things that I don't have it is just he knows the ways with girls... from this point of view i'm = 0. I just don't have enough time and money for a girlfriend which needs weekly time and money (see movie, presents...). On top of that I have got used to beeing single. I really don't belive in love and nonsense like this. We have to admit that the animal instinct is what makes the illusion of love... I'm not romantic at all (I should be...I'm a boy) On the other hand if my dream of becoming something of a small Bill Gates with only a fraction of his money...

I must say that the bug is very important for this kind of script. Why? Because the user must see all kinds of websites some maybe containing pop-ups or viruses (admin's job is to take care that the number of this kind of websites is very low). Never the less there maybe some "bad" websites. That's why most users doen't uses Internet Explorer since it attracts a lot of "bad" stuff . Users use Firefox, opera or other browsers... So it is extremly important to fix this bug before I can release my website. So please anybody who knows php help me! Thanks a lot... You can pm anytime if you need more details... I posted a few days ago a thread with a bad title and it got deleted (rightfully) and I got warned. Well that thread was about a problem I had with my new computer (some of you who visit this forum a lot know my problem with the old video card). When I tryed to download something from the net 90% of the times it got corrupted somehow. At first I thought it must be from the windows, thats why i posted in windows bugs, but as it turned out to be it was my new nvidia firewall.Of course whenm I have bought the motherboard I made my decision based on many things. Specially the price, but also I thought that since I won't upgrade this computer for a long time i should choose the best motherboard with as meny new technologies as possible. So that's what I did... nvidia nforce4 ultra with nvidia active armor hardware firewall. At least that is what is written on the paper. In fact that is not a hardware firewall at all... well it is a hardware firewall but it needs a special software firewall to work and that firewall comes from nvidia with the nforce drivers. So you probably are wondering what was happening... it's simple... the so called firewall stoped (almoust) everything. I mean it showed that the download was completed but in fact it wasn't even half of what it should be, so when i tried to install the program it gave me a file corrupted warning.After finding out that the firewall is to blame i searched the net for someone with simiar problems and I had the surprise to find out that i am not the only one with this kind of problems. I also had the surprise to find out that the problem is very very old (i found january posts). You would think that by september nvidia would have fixed the problems but as you see it hasn't.Now here is the real question. Since the firewall is not hardware (not in full at least) and more the point it doesn't do its job shouldn't nvidia warn it's clients about the malfunctioning firewall so others won't have the same problem. Not to mention that you pay for something you don't enjoy...

I just upgraded my computer to 64b with an AMD 64 3000+. Since I there aren't any drivers for my pr4inter (a Lexmark) or for my TV Tuner on the 64b Windows Xp I have choosen to isatll the 32b version. Everthing is great except for one thing which is becoming more and more anoying as the days pass.Let's say I download a file from the internet. I don't how it happenes or why it happenes but more then 80% of my download get corrupted somehow. For exampole I have to download the same file 5 times for one to work. First I thought it was my download manager (the one integreted in Firefox) so I said lets try IE. Same thing... ok ... so the script is an autosurf php script (i got it from HERE)). The problem i got with it is that at certain amount of time it must show another members website. It credits the user which is doing the surfing it also takes credits from the member's which website is shown, but in fact it does not rotate any website i can only see a blank screen. Well i can tell you the "ideaz" is great. I specially like the flowers and the billboard and the color theme you choosed. Still on the front page there is a bug... the text that links to the forum , faq and so on has the default font which doensn't match the rest of the website.Also the font on the other pages have the same problem as the front page. The font for Ideaz Unlimited is great even if it is pretty hard to read. You should try to apply the same font to all texts. Of course that is just an "ideaz"

I remember I was in the 3rd grade when the hole trend for tamaguci broke up in my country. Everybody had or wanted one.... it it funny how kids minds are easily influenced. We were like zombies... Of course after a certain amount of time (like all trends) the tamaguci trend had gone away. There are still places where you can find one, but the kids will never come back... They have mobile phones from an early age, even from six or seven years old. The tamaguci age has gone away.I don't know if in your country the tamaguci had this influence for an certain amount of time, but it defently ahd in romania. I remember there was this trend with the blob (i don't know if this is the spelling) - murky liquid that could take a lot a forms in akids hands. Childhood is more sweet now that is over...

I have some not good at all news on the state of my Leadtek nVIDIA FX 5700 video card. The guys from the warranty shop just called me yesterday to tell me that the video card is just ok. Damn! I hate living in romania! This could only happen in my country! They don't respect the customer at all... They treat us as if we haven't paid for that expensive video card, as if they are doing us a favor. Anyway I'm supposed to go tomorrow to take my "ok" video card at home. I already told them all my problems with the monitor not waking up from standby, restarting my computer as often as every minute. I even told them that my computer with an ancient riva tnt2 hasn't rebooted or malfunctioned at all. But they don't listen. I told them that if on monday i take my video card at home and if it is still not working i'll be calling their boss again.I'm starting to feel stupid. Why? Because when I bought the video card from the same company just after my hdd incident my father told me that he hopes I won't have problems with it.Damn hardware but most important damn those incapable computer companies.
