Terrorists Used Google Earth During Mumbai Attacks
mahesh2k replied to ihost's topic in The Internet
@Daniboy:you're right they can use map & GPS. but they tried to use local resources like SIM cards/satellite phone to hide the fact that they were from pakistan but usage of Satellite phone and call from karachi on that proved that they were from pakistan. so technology in future will be more dangerous if it falls into religious & irrational people. -
Terrorists Used Google Earth During Mumbai Attacks
mahesh2k replied to ihost's topic in The Internet
Well even if Google and other Map location services goes paid even then terrorists can purchase subscription 25$ or so for access. So free or paid access can't stop this. But yes, subscriptions can monitor the accounts how users are using the service etc. This way can be useful for such service providers to see if anyone is misusing the service. But don't think this way they can completely achieve control over terorists. If country like pakistan is behind terrorism then they can use satellite of their own for such purpose, so 3rd party service control can't be always monitored. -
Two ways you caa capture screenshot this : 1) Use "PrintScrn" button and then open paint and then use paste option form menu, and paste the screensjot over there. Then save the image with "jpg", "gif" and "png" extention. 2) Use Shotgenius software from this page. OR Screenshot captor from this page Then use the shortcuts for that software to capture screenshots of desktop/activewindow etc. Then upload it to Picoodle,Imagefilez sites. Hope this helps.

That is also possible. Using programmers to develop something in programming contests, which can help give pointers to spammers, to bypass CAPTCHA. I know there are plenty of such programming contests which internally uses some logic which can be used in favor of another software product. Thats why many software companies sponsors programming contests. But pointing to particular contest saying that this company and contest makes use of peoples intellect for their purpose can be wrong claim. But i do think google codejam could have been used to solve their problems Who knows ?
-
Actually some of the crackers/spammers found solution for that. I heard about "USdownloader" software which by-passed Rapidshare CAPTCHA earlier. But now that rapidshare removed captcha system and allowed flexible download slots. That software is in graveyard now, find it you may get information about how they did it.So we can't claim that such system are perfect. Everything in software and technology world perishes as time goes on.

Browsing Internet Via Mobile Phone How fast u ever get?
mahesh2k replied to err's topic in Mobile Phones
I use Browsers like Opera Mini, Teashark & embedded Browser from Sony for internet surfing. I tested the speed of my carrier and i found out it is 66 kbps MAX. Sometimes i get even lower than that but that depends on scalability of my carrier(AIRTEL).GPRS in some carriers are very costly in our country charging 0.30/50KB. I use GPRS for daily rental basis costing me 15 bucks per day. So i use it very heavily to get bang for my bucks BTW i tried to surf Xisto on Opera Mini yesterday, and i got so many errors , it wasn't letting me surf the site properly. Anyone else facing similar problems. -
Nostradamus thought a lot about stars and positions. But do you think universe is limited to our solar system and the life on earth? Absolutely not. So if any random person like Nostradamus starts to predict some random events based on available varialbles of our solar system and predicts some thing succesfully. Do you think he will be accurate forever? No, i dont\' think so.I don\'t beleive in holy books written by humans (and claimed to be written by gods or guided to written by gods, Why?You know what is going on these days in the name of those books) So like those books, even predictions of Nostradamus are also random things. So don\'t believe in every prediction of nostradamus.

Do You Think Gmail Slower In Future ? I try gmail
mahesh2k replied to NuHoaXuLa's topic in The Internet
Google is very serious with their data services and they always experiment with the GMail file systems. You can read about such experients on official google blog. So i don't think so that they'll have performance issues as such. They're very aggressivce with SPAM filtering and fake acounts so adding more filters to these can infact gives us more better experience with Gmail. So i don't think Google will ever catch Performance problems we used to see with Yahoo & Hotmail earlier. -
Best Paying Job what is the best paying job out apart from sports
mahesh2k replied to toilet95's topic in General Discussion
Again it depends,if you are interested in doing job that pays you more or you want satisfaction from it as well. And most of the career counsellors do IQ testing that gives them more understanding about your intelligent and social quotient. So people with high social quotient prefer media, PR, Admin,Management type of jobs. While analytical people prefer scientists, engineer, analyst, architect, artist type of jobs. When i did my test before choosing career, counsellor told me to go for science and analytical type of career. Again givng such test and understanding your available option can help you choose the right career. Again it's random output in life where you get satisfaction or money from your job. You can't predict that you can get satisfaction and money, both from same job. It varies from person to person. -
Submitexpress Great Toold Tools for the begginer
mahesh2k replied to Echo_of_thunder's topic in Science and Technology
Yes. Submit express is good tool to send your website URL to various search engine submission forms. Other than that i recommend using "MSN Live Webmaster tools", "Yahoo Siteexplorer" and "Google Webmaster Tools". These services can help you analyze how your website appears for their noob bots . You can analyze what keywords are used for your site in those search engines. You can even analyze inbound and outbound links from those dashboards. If you've enough pillar articles/content to your blog/site then you can promote your site by submitting it to directories with high/low pageranks. Try this : http://www.addurl.nu/ (Large set of Web directories) For this i recommend sending your website from top to bottom start with PR5 to PR3. Don't directly jump to PR6-8 Directories. Take some time by getting indexed from middle order directories then apply for higher PR directories. Hope this helps. -
This thread is to post your favourite Japenese animes. (Read it as Anime, please don't post disney/hanna-barbara cartoon stuff ) I created this thread as i was searching for some good animes and was looking for recommendations in some categaories. So i think this thread can help others as well. You can post your favourite anime in this style. Anime name | Genre 1) Bleach-- | Shounen, Action, Supernatural 2) Deathnote -- | Psychological, Mystery, Suspense 3) Darken than black -- | Sci-fi, Supernatural, Mystery, Action 4) Hellsing -- | Horror, Action, Supernatural You can even post japense anime movies(mention genre as well please). That will also be a good pointer for anime lovers. Hope this way, it will be easier for others to find alternative animes in the genres. So go ahead add your favourite animes to this thread. Let this thread be informative for anime fans.

mahesh2k replied to icemarle's topic in General Discussion

The worst SPAM catcher mail software is Windows Live (Hotmail) i'm seeing maximum number of spam directly to my inbox. They forget to filter SPAM for me most of times. and hey where is spam filter MSN Live? You show ads on pages, you limit bandwidth for data storage and transfer. and after all that restriction you even allow SPAM, Live mail is one of the useless mail service you can try. I have moved my contacts from that now, and i'm keeping that loginID only for Windows Skydrive.

Chrome is good, fast and smooth. But it'll be target for spyware and malware soon. already "original-search" site wrote their spyware for the chrome. Now their will be more add-ons and soon it will be like firefox so i think it's too early to say that Chrome will remain fastest among them.

Every person starts to send invite to each other then gmail will catch all of them as SPAM . That is for sure. BTW i don't like microsofts strategies and i can't trust their business model anymore so i'm not going to join anyway.

lol Yeah. I was thinking of something like that, now i'm not trying to be too gentle with colors now Let's use harsh colors like BLUE RED GREEN in dark pattern I'm constantly checking for blogger who have monetized Kontera effectively. So guys if you've any suggestion for Kontera optimization then please do drop some tips and tricks in this thread.

The problem here is people try to analyze the person posting on forum/IRC/Blog etc. When they start getting interested in another person they simply start to decipher each and everything what they're doing and try to mold it according to their own personality which is not good way to approach. So why people use "Dear friends" & other polite words etc in their posts, here are some reasons: 1) English is not first language, so they try to be polite so that others don't misunderstood some of their opinions 2) They try to be friendly, which is important on the internet 3) Spiritual and Religious people try to talk like this a lot. 4) Some countries have corporate culture where managers/colleagues talk like " Hey mate, Dear friends" etc. 5) Some students trained for soft-skill and corporate culture use those words during start of debate/presentations etc. 6) Some higher authority people prefer to use it in order to relax the listeners during any talk/workshop/seminars etc. Oh, i'll get "analysis paralysis" if try to list more and more reasons for it anyway. Hope you understood some reasons by now. As true fusion said earlier :

I agree we need to get that system back. But sometime some people get annoyed if they're rated badly,so we've to look for that as well. Some buttons give you idea about your work in Xisto while some buttons are too literal to get as harsh feedback. And now that Kontera and Mycents clicks are interests of members i hardly think most of the regular members will notice those reputation buttons. In this case, i remember old +/- reputation buttons, that was good option instead of reputation buttons like (spam, disagree buttons) +/- with reasoning that why you did that rating is much better than reputation buttons i think.Looks like opaque is busy bringing back "recent topics" and threads on forum and many other such tasks, i think let's see what he thinks about reputation buttons.

Why you're sad Nabb? Look at us we've not even started with single cent . It will take us infinite time to get payput I think most of the members here are using black/gray/red/orange/blue colors so its hard for all of us to understand who's link is appearing right now. Try other colors as well guys, ok i have decided to try new color every week Let's see if i can at least break 2 cents milestone

I do think that with "F1 and some other sports we do waste lot of natural resources like petrol/gas/diesel etc. In fact we're moving to situation like we need those resources and money/mind is supposed to be diverted to some productive things/entertainment and sports i think. Anyway coming back to topic, its going to be challenge to handle team.

SM, what are the prizes? 3 Mycents $ For winner? That will be great add-on in future. BTW i like your idea of Youtube video, i don't mind seeing you dancing besides britney or cheryl cole Singing song "Vote for SM" song
