Is that one of the mobile cards? (ie in a laptop?) It doesn't sound familiar to me, so probably it's not so crash-hot; especially seeing most graphics cards in laptops are rather average anyway, unless you spend some serious dough from the beginning.Right now I'm using a PCI-e 128mb 6600GT, which was the mid-range to budget card of choice not all that long ago. These days its getting on the slower end of things, and I would not be recommending it if you like gaming; though for a budget computer or light gaming it's still a good card to get, but I don't believe it holds the price/performance sweetspot like it used to.

Apple Patents Music That Play According To Your Mood
Cool_Freaker replied to amir691's topic in Science and Technology
Do you have a link to the news story or info on this? I'd love to see more on what it's about. Some of the patents these days are ridiculous though, and leads to unneccesary restrictions in industries. I don't think Apple needs another market monopoly.Apple certainly does have some good ideas - but in no way do they do everything right. In fact, I'd say it's only recently they've started to do "right" again, with the introduction of the Ipod and some of their newer iBooks proving to be both popular and efficient products. -
Yeah, I'm finding Gunbound increasingly has too many hackers and too many people who have no lives. You get called a noob when you don't hit your first shot even though your opponent may be on the opposite side of the map with some freaking strong wind. Then, if by magic, some opponent of yours who is reasonably far away manages to know the exact sweet spot to hit you, and duals first turn - either they've played way too much Gunbound it's scary, or they're hacking. It really ruins the fun of the game.

People like Google because it is free, its services are popular also because they are free. Basically it offers the best of the free stuff - when they start charging they take themselves out of that demographic, and hence many people would simply change search engines or email clients, whatever.Google knows this, and is making an absolute mint off their Google Adwords - which are probably the most user friendly ads around.

Yeah, it was definitely exciting to watch, but if you think about it the story wasn't all that great.

I find those to be the best Looks good SM, and the text isn't nearly as bad as it has been on some of your other sigs.

http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming out! For those who don't know, Neverwinter Nights is an RPG based loosely on D&D. For example, instead of looking at your strength and weapon power to estimate your damage, you know the exact range of what you would do. In Neverwinter Nights, My heavy crossbow does 1d10 + 1d4 cold damage, with a +5 damage bonus! In other words, if you play this game and tell your friends about it, you will be forever labled as a nerd. Aside from this, NWN is crazy fun, and check out the new details! Oh, one last thing. Why are there 50 topics on Runescape?

Lied To For 3 Months I was lied to for 3 months
Cool_Freaker replied to rldowling03's topic in The Vent
Wow. If someone was raped by their stepdad, would they have the guts to talk about it? This story that the guy offered smacked of dodginess from the start! Funny use of words eh? Frankly, I say you were pretty gullible to fall for the old "Im-a-girl-online-but-not-really-in-real-life" schtick. Though the guy on the other end is pretty deranged and disturbed. Who would make up a story of being raped and tell others about it? -
Final Fantasy 9, I think this is the best ff ever
Cool_Freaker replied to rldowling03's topic in Computer Gaming
I personally liked it the best also, although I started with FF7, which seems to be what hooked a lot people on the Final Fantasy series.Anyway, what I appreciated in FF9 was it was definitely the most polished out of the PlayStation FF's (probably because it's the newest one of the three) - I didn't particuarly enjoy the extremely linear nature of FFX (I mean yeah, FF's are linear, but not THAT linear), nor did the voice acting particuarly capture my interest.FF9 had a story which was understandable, unlike FF7 which would require backreading etc. It had a battle system that was simple but effective - not like the damned junction system of FF8 (though I did appreciate the materia system of FF7). I liked the characters of FF9 though; a lot of people complain about the big heads and small bodies or whatever, but I quite liked the almost chibi-sized people running around, which probably added to the feel of the game. Cute moogles don't hurt either, and I rather liked the design of the cities - more so than either of the previous FF's and even X/X-2.Also it was a bit of a commemoration of the past FF games, with Vivi has a Black Mage cameo, Garnet wearing the White Mage outfit (and the designated classes to go with it), four party battles and music remixes. -
There is definitely a higher emphasis on extra-curricular activities these days. Just because you get straight A's or whatever, in either school or university does not neccessisarily mean that you will land a job. Personality and what you do outside of work and study tends to be equally important, and thus I believe it's vital that you at least try and join (and stay committed) to some sort of club activity, whether it be some sport, craft or debating. Academic results are still important though - I would not say universities disregard them so easily, but rather the level of competition is higher and thus other activities have to be measured amongst candidates as well. Reading fast will benefit you in your studies, whether it is recognised or not - it should reflect in your results, in my opinion.

Price Suggestion On Custom Built Computer How Much Would You Pay?
Cool_Freaker replied to JC05's topic in Hardware Workshop
Intel Dual Cores have dropped in price, by almost 50% I've heard. You may be better off building Dual Core PC's and touting their multitasking abilities. -
As long as you're having fun, and eventual break-ups don't hurt anyone there's probably no problem. If you think it's pointless perhaps you're just better off being good friends with this girl? If you're not comfortable with it, or can't particuarly see any benefit from the relationship end it before anyone gets hurt. Either way, I guess the best advice is not to be pressured by friends or peers - just like how in younger grades you'd get ridiculed for talking to girls, and later it's vice versa - you get crap for not having a girlfriend.

Saint-michael Job S Bust! their loss :( :(
Cool_Freaker replied to Saint_Michael's topic in General Discussion
Ah well, better luck next time SM. I think there should be quite a few of those kinds of jobs around right? At least in the IT/design sort of area, especially if you're willing to start out small and move up. -
Amd Vs Intel see which brand of processor is more popular
Cool_Freaker replied to Reaper's topic in Science and Technology
Generally true, though the current AMD line runs cooler than Intels. -
Final Fantasy 7 Dirge Of Cerberus Relase of this game
Cool_Freaker replied to Megaman's topic in Computer Gaming
It's out in Japan already right? So I'd expect at least a few months for translation and whatnot to go on. Looks pretty good from what I've seen in the way of screenshots and such. Hopefully it plays well also - Vincent was my favourite character in FF7, I'd hate for that to change because of a crappy game -
Generally, for word processing, any of the laptops on the market now will do the job well enough. For reasonable performance though: CPU: 1.2ghz (wouldn't go any lower, but with brand new ones I don't think you can - Celeron M's are apparantly great value at the lower end, while Core Duos will let you do a lot more multi-tasking) RAM: 512mb (minimal for smooth performance and getting the most out of Windows XP) GPU: Integrated (is fine for no games) HDD: 40gb (...is pretty standard, but the requirements really depends on each person. Usually upgradable anyway - and if you have a desktop I don't think you need much space) Size/weight would have to depend on whether you are after something budget or need an ultra-portable laptop. Brandwise, you can't beat Dell for price/performance, though quality-wise perhaps not the best. Avoid AMD laptops for now, Intel definitely has the upper-edge in laptop CPUs.

Yes, I'm amazed by how many people fall victim to these kinds of scams. I especially detest those pyramid money making schemes, where you must send something like $10 to the person that sent you the letter, then you send out hundreds of letters to random people and hope that some of them will respond, send you the money, and then keep the chain going. It's really only beneficial to those at the top of the pyramid, and the majority of people lose out. Such a scam. At least some of these internet schemes (i.e. signing up to get your email spammed to death for $1) allow everyone to get some money/prize... eventually.

Playstation 3 News Price Tag Update Specs and more
Cool_Freaker replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Computer Gaming
Most likely they will be at least the price of the current new release Xbox 360 games, if not a little more. I would be very suprised if they did go lower than US$60 to start with -
Not the best I've seen from you Johnny, none particularly stand out for me, though I'd have to say the better ones in my opinion are Godz Element and Cyberdoo. The dark Sleeper one is good also, but I'm not really liking the text too much (though I appreciate you tried to keep it simple).I don't like the text on the first much, and the dots look out of place. Maybe something a bit more hi-tech-ish for the render? Not the best render in the second, and the third just looks a bit generic. Anyway, hope the fragging is going well Good to see some stuff from you anyway Johnny.

Playstation 3 News Price Tag Update Specs and more
Cool_Freaker replied to Saint_Michael's topic in Computer Gaming
Looks bloody expensive, though the upcoming games list looks rather promising. I hope there wont be big delays in Gran Turismo HD, or Metal Gear Solid 4... some big titles on launch would be awesome. This is also considering Microsoft will launch Halo 3 on the Playstation 3's launch date - so some good flagship titles had better come along with that. Last I remember, the Playstation 2 really only had Tekken Tag and SSX which I was interested in at launch (and incidentally TTT wasn't all that great, SSX was fairly good, so a rather average launch list, in my opinion).I still don't get whats with these different priced console packages that MS and Sony have both released. Basically if you buy the lower package you miss out on a hell of a lot, and it's probably a cheap way for them to advertise at a much lower price. -
I don't see why people are claiming they don't want to support Microsoft and Bill Gates with his wad of cash. I wouldn't say Sony is a poor company in anyway, and quite frankly is rather well off. (Although lately it's claimed the company is being held afloat by its PlayStation and movies brands, whilst the rest of its departments are reporting losses).I myself am definitely more of a Playstation fan though, as others have mentioned, there are some big name titles which have been fairly exclusive to the PlayStation (at least upon release). Especially now the PS3 should pack more power than the Xbox 360, I don't see a lot of reason to go for the Xbox. I would probably still consider a Nintendo Wii over both of them though, as I really think Nintendo may be able to pull something spectacular off with their innovative (and much more affordable) system, considering the ease for developers to create games for it, and the new controller.

Yep, researching first is always a good idea. They normally do display the slot type and the specifications when you buy computer components though. It's usually just a matter of making sure your own computer is compatible <_<A Radeon 9200 SE is VERY basic as a GFX card. As for whether it'd even play Guild Wars, my guess is that it'd have a bit of a struggle. $70 seems rather steep for it as well.
