  1. Yeah, started playing online again today after about a break of more than a year - which I needed after playing two years straight. Anyway, whats the problem? You simply need to install Age of Empires II, go to http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/xbox-one and find Age of Empires II. From there go to Downloads and get the English patch. Run it, and then go to http://zone.msn.com/en-us/home Make sure you're using Internet Explorer, somehow installation won't work on Firefox. Sign in using your .net Passport (or make one), then click on CD Rom up the top. Choose Age of Empires II, and it will download some files to your computer. Say yes if it asks you to install (duh). Then just click on a game room, and find a game that's not full, or host one yourself.
  2. Yeah they're not offering any *free* IPB packages anymore. It used to be all their releases had a free unlimited trial, and if you liked it, or for commercial use, you'd buy a license. Now though, apparantly, all the versions are no longer supposed to be distributed, but if you have version 1.3 or under, you may continue using free of charge... So it's hard*er* to find a download for it. (Do a search on Google and you should be able to get it still though, I think)
  3. I heard a lot about NeverWinter Nights being a very good kind of RPG, which "apparantly" is more 3rd person than the top down point and click style of Diablo II and Dungeon Seige. Many of my friends (online and offline), say it's a great game, but I've just never really picked it up for some odd reason.Perhaps it's worth a try if you haven't already?
  4. i've been working on a few signatures but none of them are good. theres no way im posting them and humilating myself *goes to corner and hides*After seeing your layouts I'd love to see your sigs B)I mean if the layouts are that good (specially your bluekirby site). The background is just great . I was wondering how did you get such an unusual URL though? it totally rocks
  5. Are you sure most professionals use a PC? I'm not personally a professional graphics/3d artist, but I always had the impression Macs were the popular choice for more serious applications, ie for scientists and digital artists. I'm pretty sure most professional applications are available on both platforms.
  6. Dungeon Seige is of a similar Point and Click RPG style. I enjoyed it for a long time, and as far as I knew there was quite a good online presence and quite a few mods as well.I played mainly single player so don't ask me about the Multi . It should also not be too heavy on the pocket, it's been out for a few years and should be in the budget ranged titles. I believe you can pick it up with the expansion for about AU$50... In my opinion it's definitely worth a try, although I'm not really into the point-click RPG stuff. (Which is why I can only recomment this one, because I haven't really played others of a similar vein )
  7. I used to be so addicted to custom scenarios. For about a year I would play non-stop. I liked Hero Castle Blood, where you had to convert units and stuff, I found it more fair... Normal Castle Blood, where it was based on luck was ok as well. Didn't like Mini or Fair Castle Blood much for some reason...Archers Hellfire was always fun, as was Germs Blood and Grave Blood. Didn't like Spider Blood much either. Defense was fun when it was a challenge... specially when you get to the end and everyone's maxed out the land space with towers and units and all the sabotuers with Khans come in and start to whack everything
  8. Oh love my Anime :rolleyes:1. Full Metal Alchemist2. Gundam SEED Destiny3. Naruto4. Bleach5. Neon Genesis Evangelion6. Air (First two eps seem good anyway)7. Melody of Oblivion8. Gundam SEED9. Dragonball Z10. Doraemon (Just love him haha )
  9. Just looking at your site it seems you used Freewebs templates and some colour/image changing at Proboards. Moving to Trap 17 would give you several options I believe? I'm not sure if you can transfer the Freewebs template easily or not, so you may have to come up with a new site. The forum could stay at Proboards, but it's very simple to use the CGI script for phpBB, which is better, anyway. It is recommended though to get an FTP client to upload your stuff (more options etc). As for help with the site, don't be afraid to send me a PM or two, and I'll see if I can help (and I'm sure many other members would as well).
  10. It's great, and so is the first book (Angels and Demons). It's so well thought out and researched the whole way, and it's such a page turner, I could barely put the book down . The fact that the book is fiction doesn't change that many of the historical facts are accurate. If you go to Dan Browns website (http://www.danbrown.com/) he says the facts are true, but rather the interpretations and ideas of the characters are purely fictional.
  11. Problem with LotR: Battle for Middle Earth is you gotta uninstall your CD copying programs to install it, such as Clone CD and Alcohol. Age of Mythology (+ Titans), is quite fun, singleplayer is alright, should keep you entertained for a while. Multiplayer wise, I remember it was hard to find a game on original AoM, because there weren't many non-rated games, so you end up having to play rated.I've heard a lot about Warhammer: Dawn of War, being a really good RTS. Perhaps that's worth a try also... oh don't forget C&C: Generals for a quick blast
  12. Any RPG from the '90's leaves quite a large expanse of time, and would include more "recent" RPGs (FFVII,VIII,IX are well known examples). But me, being a Square fan, I loved Chrono Trigger (since I assume we're talking about 2D RPGs).
  13. Ya know, maturity is not directly proportional to age. *Maybe your just talkative too *
  14. I know what you mean. For something, only digitally real, it seems to be a very large investment into something rather pointless. It makes you wonder about the direction in which our morals are heading... But I guess (just by reading the article) he has a chance to make a profit? As the "Virtual Money" in the game can be converted into real $USD, and by buying that he can charge people virtual money to use it/build on it, he "should" be able to make money out of it, eventually. Still, I think he would be better off investing in something like the stockmarket...
  15. Yeah I was hosted there before. The Shyper server was a little slow, but it was a great service, I didn't experience any downtime, and you only needed sign up. No ads too. I never recieved an email from them though, I happened to read the community forums and saw the post one day. I don't think their main problem was unused resources, rather they had some people with some illegal sites - downloads etc, and so because of a few they had to close it. I don't know how much of that influenced the close of it, perhaps it was costing them too much to offer such a service, but anyway, Trap 17 is definitely faster, and though with initially less space, the unlimited MySQL and community support (and more) make it far suprerior in my opinion.
  16. I guess you have to feel sorry for those who have rather "limited" english skills or are too immature to know what to post :)I would suggest finding some topic your interested in and writing about that to the best of your ability
  17. Nice fonts. Looks like you got a nice wide range of em'. Works effectively, I think... bit more practise and it will look truly professional
  18. Yep, it's quite possible, but often to get to that stage you have to invest a lot of time into it to become that pro. And that time you spend may not be = to the amount you may have gotten in a proper job, but who am I to disagree with.(Honestly, if I had the capacity to do so, I would enter and want to win also )
  19. Nice background with the metal effect. Everything needs to be organised better though, and don't have too many affiliate/flashing button things, as it will detract from your main content. Get some sort of border for your different page areas, define it a bit more. And a nice banner would certainly do you no harm.
  20. I bought an MD Walkman in about April this year, one of them Sony Net MD ones, I reckon it works well for me... but the transfer system through Sonic Stage is a bit of a pain sometimes, but register and get the updated version and it's all good...GOD POING, you must have a Hi-MD one, the newer model. I probably should have waited a couple of months to get one of those. (Though I still prefer the look of my MZ-N710 )
  21. I like the PSP, I prefer the stuff which seems more high tech :rolleyes:But I have to say the DS looks good too, with the double screen etc, but I don't know really how good that would be? I mean, couldn't be distracting to look at one screen and then die in the other? :)The PSP will probably be more multifunction, but battery life on it will probably be an issue? As for prices - I thought I saw DS @ $150, PSP @ $200 - *don't quote me on this, I think I read it *
  22. I got hooked for some reason, and I am usually one of those people who are always skeptical about these dramas... I like how it takes a bit more of a light hearted approach on things, Australia is so behind though, we're still replaying series 1, and I'm pretty sure everywhere else is partway through series 2?
  23. They are a waste of time, and it's a generally accepted fact, is it not? :rolleyes:That's why you play em, simple for the enjoyment and time consumption. There shouldn't really be other reasons to play? I guess video games do have more of a social aspect than most critics would suggest though, joining clans or teams, socialising in that respect can be rewarding. Apparantly, it also improves your reaction time and your hand eye co-ordination... I would say it's probably less of a waste of time than watching popcorn movies or some trashy tv drama.
  24. Certainly is simpler, and it serves its purpose as a good time waster. The simplicity is good, but I would have preferred maybe more classes (FFI). Also the magic system seems to have been dumbed down in FFI for GBA... I like my storylines though, and the whole Warriors of Light thing just doesn't really cut it, but I played through it nonetheless. FFII is damn annoying with the level up system... to get higher weapon attack/stronger magic, you just need to use it more??? I ended up having very low magic levels and just attacking the whole time. At least it's interesting as to how the game is set out, and how your home base Altair is where you proceed from to carry out the Rebels missions etc... All in all - good portable boredom killers, and a nice nostalgic look at RPG's of old, I reckon they're worth playing, but you need some patience
  25. Down at the local Electronics Botique they have a Pre-owned sale, I saw 25% off MGS2... I was wondering whether I should get it, or simply stash my money away and get MGS3 when it comes out...I played quite a lot of MGS2 at my friends house, and found it to be kinda hard - I always panic when alert goes red Yeah, Casanova is right - there is a GBC MGS game, one of my other friends has it also... I've never played the NES ones but the GBC game seemed to work fairly well (though I was stuck in a room somewhere early in the game)
