  1. Love the "Cell Shaded" feel you've got in sig 1 and 3...
  2. Yeah Vivi is ultimately cool... love how he runs around and stuff, a bit like a waddle... kinda like how I found Cid from FF7's walk really funny... he seemed to lift his legs high or something :ph34r:I guess 11 shouldn't really count seeing it's an MMORPG as opposed to just these normal RPG's... besides, are there really that many votes for it?
  3. Don't think there is an exact date for release, even in Japan. - http://www.1up.com/news/ffvii-advent-children-coming-year In other words, probably not until the PSP is out, which also seems to have been pushed back...
  4. *shudders* Real emotion.... Anyway, you guys sure it's out in Japan? - ffonline.com And I don't believe it's past March 31st yet... I also don't think Nobuo Uematsu is working on the music for it? He officially left Square-Enix recently I believe, although he *may* still compose music for them. Shame FFXI never came out in Australia for PS2...
  5. Yeah it's certainly very clean, and professional looking. Only quibble I'd have is how the buttons move when there's a mouse over. I know that the colour change is good, but bolding the text and making the whole bar move is a but weird *I think*.If it is an online story, though, I would have thought you may have gone for some slightly brighter colours, to attract more readers? I don't know, but your site seems to scream "Professional/Factual Information" rather than a novel. But each to their own I guess
  6. You'd probably want more "modern" type RTS games then I'd presume, with Command and Conquer Generals being a modern day to futuristic kinda game.In that case I'd recommend Ground Control 2 or Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. You'll need a good computer, and both are graphically quite impressive. I think Dawn of War has gotten better ratings, and has a better online presence, but that's what I gathered, seeing I don't really own either , but I've seen friends who have both.
  7. Google is notorious for it's privacy policies... and programs like that search thing which searches your harddrive. If they made an OS they'd make it so they somehow know what you do on your PC and can somehow pop up an advertisement or send your computing habits to some data center where it is sold to advertising companies... I probably wouldn't fully trust it, but luckily it won't happen.
  8. I never owned Warcraft III or the Expansion, but I borrowed it from a friend... definitely the Frozen Throne is a worthwhile purchase in my opinion...I'm still not really a fan of Warcraft III though, I like big armies, and less micromanagement, more macromanagement. Having a unit population limit at 90 (or 100), when units usually take two slots, means I usually don't get the huge armies I like to have. Also the importance of Heroes.... but anyhow - that's all personal preference, and I have to say it's great to play, especially with the expansion.
  9. Just put a note in the corner, in lowercase (to stick with the theme). Make it further down than where the star is.
  10. Most people got invited in some way or another I believe. But I heard the first group were computer enthusiasts, who signed up or something - it started off small anyway.Gmail is good, it's got filtering, good spam control, loading times are fast - no banner/image ads, huge storage, and the interface is simple. The best free webmail service hands down - except if you're paranoid you may be worried about GMail's privacy policy, and how your email can be stored on their servers after being deleted. But if your mailbox doesn't have anything important anyway (most of mine bears no significance on my RL), so it's really no biggie.
  11. Read the review on IGN and it looks really good. I didn't really like Tekken 4 much, and I've been finding the Tekken series slow compared to other fighter (VF4 and Soul-Calibur 2), but it may have been improved.Anyway, lookin' forward to when it comes out in Australia
  12. An MMORPG = Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game. Nothing on the Gameboy Advance is "Massively Multiplayer and online". But for good RPGs, there's: Final Fantasy: Tactics Advance (not really a true RPG, but very fun, albeit repetitive, but great for consuming time) Final Fantasy I & II: Dawn of Souls (remake of the original two games, great classic, but can get boring when confronted with random battle after random battle), Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories (very nice innovative game for GBA, similar to the PS2 KH, but suited for GBA. Definitely if you're a fan of the PS2 version get it) Golden Sun: I & II (awesome graphics, probably the best on the GBA. Also a GBA only game, although to get the full effect you need both games, and I believe there may be a third one also.) There are some others, but they're the ones I played and liked.
  13. Do they have pre-ordering already? I read that Square-Enix pushed the release date even further back, just like they pushed back the release of the PlayStation Portable, to past the fiscal year or something. Anyway, we're not going to see it in English for a while yet, and probably even longer for us in Australia/Europe PAL territories. The current game screens look awesome though. Not really liking the look of the main character - but I guess most people are past the "girl-like-boy" appearance thing by now.
  14. Too monotone for my liking. Render on the right seems a little weird, and on the left the large bright area could be replaced with more star brushing. Suitable font choice though, I think it fits well with the theme.
  15. Just turn of signatures and avatars in My Controls then. No biggie
  16. It's in 1.6 as well... but if anything, it might be some incentive for campers to at least try and go for the bomb (plant or defuse) if they're the only one left, as they can get 3 kills at once. It probably doesn't make that much of a difference, but it probably has helped to cut down on end of round camping.
  17. Played it (Age of Empires II/Expansion) a helluva lot more than I played Age of Mythology (which I bought on launch). In terms of speed, AoM may seem slow, but an actual fact is an Random Map game in either can be decided within 10 to 15 min, with some sort of second age rush (Feudal Age Flush (AoC) or Classical Age Rush (AoM)).I guess the 3D aspect of it makes it seem units are moving slower, when they're not really...I think Age of Empires II is a bit overpriced for such an old game though, last I saw the original was still AU$50, although I did once see the Gold Edition with original and expansion for AU$50..The Zone has really gone downhill in the last 12 months though, with the introduction of all the ads, and the Room list, which now requires a lot of loading, and is impossible when your internet is slow. Basically, it takes about 5 minutes to get into a room on dial-up, whereas before it could be done in less than 2.
  18. Soldat is certainly a really fun 2D game. I think most people would have tried it at once stage, but for those not in the know, it consists of a Worms like level, except bigger, lengthways and widthways. You soldier dude runs around, you have a jet pack for flying etc. It's quite a fast game, so good reflexes required, and luck. Playing with lag is impossible; you'll continue to keep dying. Enemy spawn camping is a bit of a problem on some levels as well...
  19. Yeah FF6 was definitely a great game. The way the story was not entirely focussed on just a set of several characters, the great music, and Kefka's infamous laugh But for me I enjoyed FF9 the best, it was the most polished FF on the PSone, I liked the return to oldschool, and it was a simple fantasy world, I guess it was fairly straight forward. FF7's storyline was about as clear as mud. I was pretty lost, with the whole Sephiroth, Jenova, Aeris intertwining. It was clever, no doubt, but required too much concentration on every little tid-bit to even manage to follow it slightly. Never played Tactics, but thoroughly enjoyed Tactics advance - whilst not in the true FF fashion, it's a good time waster, probably the game I would most recommend for GBA.
  20. 1. Real Time Strategy (RTS) - love the Age series, Blizzard ones are entertaining too... not to mention Command and Conquer - I like how there's a feeling of full control, and, how it does have some strategy in it (usually). Also there's a whole lot of custom maps etc for most RTS games, as well as them usually being quite playable offline if bored.2. Role Playing Games (RPG) - mainly Final Fantasy series, never was into Diablo II or MMORPGs. I like the more story based ones, with turn based/time based battles rather than real time, or point and click stuff.3. First Person Shooters (FPS) - Great to play with friends, and online, but offline it usually is boring, or single player is too short (Call of Duty). Usually requires higher system reqs, and my computer is falling behind in specs
  21. I never had a good run with Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge... It didn't really appeal to me as much as the other C&C games for some reason. I found you just needed to go Allies and spam a few Prism Tanks & Mirage Tanks... Zero Hour was cool, but I still would question spending AU$50 just for it.
  22. Playing Dust on pub *usually* means the Terrorists just camp, and the Counter Terrorists just camp (although they're supposed to), and it goes really slowly... But yeah, Dust 1 and 2 are quite fun when there are good teams, though I would still prefer Dust 2 on most occassions. Personally though, I'm more of an de_inferno fan... I think it's quite well balanced to both teams, and it's not usually dominated by one side.
  23. I'm guessing it must still be in Beta stage or something, and once all the bugs etc are squashed out, and they build up a member base then fees of some sort would be introduced... Anyway, can I get some details on the game? System Requirements, Server locations, screenshots perhaps? I'd like to find out a bit more before I download
  24. Seeing how many better free MMORPGs there are out there with better communities, the only reason I would ever consider playing this is if I suddenly had to use an old computer, and had dial up internet, thus disabling any 100-200mb downloads.
