  1. Yippee! I solved the problem! Here it is: This is my "titlebar" image in the first version: <p><img src="images/svere.jpg" alt="SuWireless"></p> I deleted the <p></p> tags because I didn't need them (and I didn't notice them before)! Internet Explorer has ignored them and crammed up my image in one table cell. Firefox was respecting the use of the <p></p> tags and added some extra space between the table cells (that was my problem). Now, the whole thing works perfectly! Thanks guys! Plus, you get to have the cool "HTML 4.01 Valid!" button on your site! Thanks! And about the alignment problem: Yes, I know, thanks for reminding me . I just can't manage to align them together! Yes, I will put in a navigation system, but I think the easiest one will be to put the "Back" and the "Home" button on the page top somewhere, and use something like this next to it: "You are here: SuWireless>Registration>Finish" I don't use any kind of CMS programs like Mambo and phpNuke (and I never have).
  2. You can try Feather Linux, it's a Knoppix based distro - 119MB (but I think that you can remove more applications and reclaim space): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ In order to make a Linux distribution that is 50MB in size, start thinking FluxBox(http://fluxbox.org/), and delete any application that is not needed, every megabyte counts! Good luck!
  3. A windows service has probably encountered an error, and is set to request a system restart! Please try to do the following: Right click on "My Computer", select "Manage". 1) Select the "+" sign next to "Services and Applications" to expand it 2) Select "services", a large list should appear on the right side 3) Now, it's your turn... Right click EVERY item from that list (one at a time, of course) and select "Properties" https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/ Here is what you should look for when you select "Properties" in every item: 1) Click on the recovery tab Make sure that none of the combo boxes (First failure, Second Failure and Subsequent failure) don't contain the word "Restart the computer"! https://smallbusiness.yahoo.com/ To avoid a restart while doing this, keep the command prompt window on (To start it, click Start>Run and type "cmd", without the quotes, and click run) and type "shutdown -a" to stop the timer, like "Someone" said.
  4. I'm using my PC either for 10 minutes to check my e-mail and read my news subscriptions, or to do some Web Design/Pascal/PHP-mySQL/Visual Basic development for (about) 4-12 hours. My personal record is from 14:00 to 13:00 (the next day) - 23 hours :lol:I was doing a presentation for my school, and I was pretty late with it. I had my taskbar 200% full and my RAM was eaten up! I was online the whole time! That day... I couldn't think clearly at all, I went to sleep at 14:00, woke up at 22:00, had dinner and got to bed at 23:00 and slept till 12:00 the next day! I was confused the whole time, and I talked in a way like my lips were taped together... (I'm never going to do that again!)
  5. I prefer phpBB... It may be a little vulnerable, but the bugs are fixed very quickly... I'm sticking with phpBB because it's very simple to use, it's very fast also, customizable and small! I'm expecting the new version of phpBB soon that will have many new features...
  6. The word "'891jk'56louk37754iku25676ui325'" seems to be repeating (just like the this also: "ocx47 9o,.8d98/.+")! This guy banged and smashed the keyboard for a while and then used the CTRL+C and CTRL+V keys nicely to bulk up his points and "earn" hosting points! Dude, I got some information for you... The posts have to MEAN SOMETHING! We don't care about your huge blob of text here on the Xisto forums. PS: Your post has been reported.
  7. That's what I get when working with Macromedia Dreamweaver! I had loads of font properties where I didn't need them... I guess that that is the problem? The new CSS code you posted is excellent! You shortened the whole thing, while keeping its functionality and solving the "background" problem! I added a few lines of code to make it more functional: 1) I added the "text-decoration:none;" attribute to make the ".menutext" style appear without an underline when this style is applied to a text link. I also added "color: #3E3E3E" to set the color of the text. 2) The ".tablestyleright" style got this: "border-right: 1px #666;", because I only needed the dashed right table border! I'm pretty much a beginner with CSS, so I rely on Dreamweaver to do the job for me sometimes... What about the table problem in Firefox? Does anybody have an idea what is causing the problem? (BTW: You get a reputation point from me ) Thanks! Yes, the "background" property was my first choice, but then the page is not a valid HTML 4.01. I will leave this as an plain image because I won't need to write anything in the table cell where this image resides. Thanks!
  8. Here is my Xisto-hosted home page: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Still just a home page, but I'm still building it so that I can have a template to use when other pages come along... However, I am having some problems with Firefox (believe it or not)! While this page works perfectly in IE, Firefox is missing some background images and is handling tables badly. Here is a screenshot of the problem: The page is HTML 4.01 and CSS valid! Here is the CSS file (all the links to the image files are valid): http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/
  9. It's very difficult to clone an animal, isn't it easier to just capture some remaining Tasmanian tigers, set up a controlled environment for them and let them breed? (Just like the Panda bear in China, but I hope that this is easier, because pandas don't breed that easily, not even in the wild).And... My personal opinion about cloning:1) If you clone something, you DON'T play God! Like adriantc said, if you believe that the cloning process is playing God, than you alter your body (and the bodies of animals) every day when you drink some vitamins to make you feel better or when you have a heart transplant.2) People that don't have an idea what cloning is (or even worse, if they think that a scientist can make a person, or an animal split into two) start to relieve themselves from that lack of knowledge by attacking the scientists around the world (that are trying to save lives, if you haven't noticed) and saying that "God is against it"! "We aren't God!" "We can't be compared to God!"If that is true, than God will smash us into tiny little pieces when we invent space travel, so that we can't reach him and see his face somewhere in the stars !3) If a human is cloned eventually, I would be 100% against the idea of cloning myself so that I can "grab" an internal organ that I need, and kill the poor thing (my clone)! On the other hand, if I could clone my kidney, heart, or whatever and use it later, I would support that! But killing an alive creature (especially the one with self-awareness - a human) is not moral!
  10. Hmmmmm... Maybe!Everybody knows what is Micro$oft and how much money does it have, so allot of people are trying to penetrate into their servers every minute! The bigger you are, a bigger bulls eye can be placed on you!Error reporting workstations have to be online as much as possible (uptime 99,99% at least)! Those workstations use Micro$oft's software, and everybody knows how often do security patches get available - usually a few weeks after the security issue has been discovered (that's because it takes allot of time to discover the error and make a solution, like I said in my previous post). One day, a high-risk security issue will be discovered, and an attacker will be able to collect personal information from the error reports, information like:-The name of the person that submitted the error report - not very dangerous-The e-mail of that person - dangerous, can lead to loads of spam, "phishing", etc.-A credit card number - very dangerousMicro$oft can put their shields down for only one minute, and ... bang! However, because of this possibility, Micro$oft has focused on developing security updates in the last few years (such as Service Pack 2) and the new Longhorn will be more secure than ever! (I hope...)They probably have their hard disks encrypted, the workstation internet access limited to send information to only one IP address and they probably check their employees very often.Even though gaining access to the Micro$oft servers is almost impossible, there are a whole lot of people just sitting there... staring at Micro$oft like vultures and waiting for it to make a wrong move.PS: Micro$oft <--- it's a habit to use a "$" every time instead of the letter "s"
  11. I think that Micro$oft is pushing his luck... Eventually, Linux and other alternative operating systems will become more and more user friendly and more functional than ever, and when you combine that fact with the word "free", you will get allot of ex-Windows users!Besides... If Micro$oft would spend a little more time fixing and beta-testing their software than developing error reporting systems, maybe this whole mess could have been avoided!Linux is open source. That means that every person on this planet can have full access to the Linux source code and detect/fix any error that he/she encounters. At Micro$oft, only a handful of employees have the full access to the Windows source code, and they have their hands full when there is a need to detect and repair bugs and errors!I will never see the Microsoft employees at work while reading my error report, so nobody can guarantee that they are not reading my e-mails or taking a peek at my passwords! Creepy!Maybe they will be able to see if somebody's Windows XP copy is a legal one by using these error reports! (Maybe that?s the point of error reporting, because I doubt that a bunch of hex code can help them very much with the process of fixing the error)All of this does not seem like an important thing right away, but I would recommend reading the 2nd chapter (part two) from the Kevin Mitnick's book "Art Of Deception": "When Innocuous Information Isn't"The title speaks for itself.
  12. Looks very nice! However, some buttons are not correctly displayed, like the "Google" button, for example. And another thing: Is it just me? Or do your Internet Explorer toolbar buttons have some white rectangles over them? (or is it an error when you took the screenshot?)
  13. If anyone tried this out, it would be nice if he/she would post a screenshot here!
  14. My favorites: South Park (the number ONE cartoon!), The Simpsons, Futurama and Happy Tree Friends (really sick, but I like it! --> http://mondomedia.com/channel/HappyTreeFriends)I used to watch Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z episodes also, before my local TV station stopped to air them...
  15. My ideal site is a site that:-Doesn't contain loads of ads and banners-Doesn't have popup windows-Doesn't offer "free music, video and software downloads" (when you click a link, it redirects you to a secure page in order to make your payment for the software material that you "ordered", and then you will get one >>for free<< if you do so )-Doesn't have broken links-Doesn't have empty chat rooms and/or forums-Doesn't have pages that take ages to load-Doesn't have unnecessary add-ons like massive page counters, guestbooks (the ones where the site owner shouts ?Pleeeeeease sing in into my guestbook, pleeeease!?), boring pools, custom cursors and web page effects (for example: the falling snow effect ? yuck!)-And everything that can drive a potential visitor of a websiteBut my personal ideal site would be a site dedicated to Pascal/Delphi/PHP/C++/ASM programming.
  16. Well, if you are sitting in your office every day, then you are reliving the same moment again and again!I had some very weird experiences with Deja Vu myself, but in my DREAMS! It's quite confusing: "Hold it right there! I dreamt this before!", and I wake up in the middle of the night convinced that I have really dreamt that dream before! Very strange...
  17. It's pronounced "guh-NOME"... But, many people simply say "NOME".I haven't heard anyone say "gee-NOME", EVER! So, I guess that it is not correct to pronounce it like that.
  18. Nope... Maybe you are thinking about phpBB 2.0.14?
  19. Here is another e-mail that I have received a moment ago:
  20. phpBB 2.0.15 is out! It has a few bugfixes and improved security features. Don't wait to be a victim of an exploit! You can download it from here: https://www.phpbb.com/downloads/ Here is the notification e-mail that I have received: Anyway, if you think that the phpBB team is just releasing "bugfix updates", think again! The next big update will be 3.0.0 and is currently being developed under the codename "Olympus". You can see more about it's progress here: https://area51.phpbb.com/ And, if you want to try this out the newest beta version of phpBB: http://area51.phpbb.com/phpBB/ Stay tuned
  21. Ima, ima! Sto ne bi bilo? Nisi ti jedini kome treba neki redovan free hosting u Srbiji!
  22. Thanks for the link! It will come in handy!
  23. I tried to Google out the name "Dario Plehati", but I didn't find anything! Thanks for your help anyway! Anybody else?
  24. I am trying to find some background music for a presentation I am making... It has to be light but a little bit exciting. Most of you don't have the smallest clue what I am talking about... So let me explain it to you like this:I need music like the one that can be found in your windows folder (if you are using Windows XP):C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\images\title.wma <--- That's the kind of music I need! So, where can I find music that sounds like this? I tried "Vangelis" and "Enigma", but they are no good...
  25. Plants don't scream when they are chopped up and cooked... Is that the reason for eating plants instead of meat for some people?I can understand people that are choosing to be vegetarians when they are forced to eat such garbage (meat) in the USA which contains a great deal of chemicals that are injected in the animals to gain their growth or egg production! I saw allot of PETA advertising movies, and I am stunned to see such a "culturally developed country" slaughter pigs like that (slit an animals throat open and let it suffer great pain for it?s last 2 minutes of life remaining)! In my country, most farmers use some sort of a slaughtering gun. I used it once on my aunts farm to slaughter a pig (yes, it was the slaughtering season, and yes, she gave me permission), and the pig was dead in an instant! 100 milliseconds of pain, and that's it! I didn't enjoy it, but I didn't start feeling sorry for the pig either. But, I felt guilty because I didn't play fair! I won the "food chain game" by killing a pig that was trapped in a corner inside a barn, no fighting and no tactics whatsoever! Still, the guilt disappeared because I know that it was killed after a very good life! My aunt spent allot of time collecting food to feed that same pig that didn't have to lift a finger! That same pig wasn't kept in a barn 24/7 and was not abused or fed any sorts of growth hormones!I ate the meat of that pig a few hours after I did the slaughter! And I really enjoyed it, it was the best meal I have ever had! (I think that meat looses it's quality after being frozen, so that's the reason for the meat being so tasty that time...)My opinion: There is no difference between eating animals and plants! Both are alive, both breathe and both are a part of our planet! Some people say (my classmate, for example) that eating fruits that grow on plants is OK because that doesn?t hurt the plant... WRONG! Try eating an apple, and when you are finished with it, dump it in the trash bin and think about what have you just done! Fruits are meant for animals to eat them and spread the seeds of that fruit around for several kilometers so it can increase the plant population. So, you see, every species that is a part of the food chain is hurting our planet, but is still helping it! Plants generate oxygen, animals carry on seeds of the plants and, by breathing, stop the planet from being overwhelmed with oxygen, and humans (even though it may not seem like it at the moment) will eventually protect all life on this planet! When the next comet (just an example ) comes knocking on our doorstep, humans will protect this small planet and help maintain it?s unique spark of life and the balance of nature that is required to keep it glowing!
