  1. One great advantage that Linux has over Windows is the fact that Windows just keeps getting slower and slower as the time passes by!Information keeps piling up in the registry, and temp files keep piling up on the HDD, and eventually, you will wonder why is my machine running so fu****g slow!?And also: Linux supported multitasking and more users on a same PC from the very beggining! If you are an advanced user, you should at least try Linux.I recommend Mandrake Linux for beginners...
  2. Has anyone seen an documentary about the life in Japan on TV?I saw one. And it isn?t pretty (for us, that is).If you buy a laptop, it will become obsolete within a month! When it becomes obsolete, you actually PAY a certain amount of money to someone to come over to your house and take it to a disassembling center where all of it's parts, that are in working condition, are shipped to another country.I think that the products (that are made especially for the market in Japan) are assembled with the most cheapest material around. I suppose that they are expecting that it will be disassembled anyway within a month or so.Conclusion? Technology is advancing very fast indeed, but it needs to be financed, so all of the new technical discoveries are sold to us so that goal can be reached.

    Annoying People

Whell... Although it will save you some braincells if you tell the person to f*** off (not literally, of course), will you have the strength to turn down an elder person that is talking to you with a glitter in his/hers eyes? I mean, if that person is talking about something in a really passionate manner, I would not reject that person no matter on how that story may be boring or stupid. Of course, if the talk gets over the edge (the person starts to reeeeeally annoy you), you should LIE!"Excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom" <--- Although this is the oldest trick in the book, let me present my way of telling people to f*** off:Reach for your pocket (wich hopefully contains you cellphone) and try to somehow "write a message" (you are actually trying to play a ringtone ) and keep listening what that person is saying. You know the rest: The phone "rings" and you "answer it" and talk for a while until that person finds someone else to bother. This was useful for me once when I was at the hospital, an eldery man started to talk about his days as a child and how his mom gave him home made remedies instead of taking him to see a real doctor, and that he is still fine... (ugh... I'm booring myself now)
  4. Some scientists say that if you play video games at an average rate, you can have your life abilities enhanced, e.g. you have better reflexes, you think faster and so on...But, "some scientists" also state that holding a laptop on your lap when sitting increases the temperature of your genitalia and contribute to sterility, so I'd would like not to believe them at this time. Personally, I like to play video games, but if I play them for more that an hour, I really get bored (so I start making some small programs in Delphi ), even if the game is Doom 3.
  5. 1. Clean my desktop (At 1024x768 resolution I have about 2-3 blank spaces for icons )2. Try not to be superstitious (although I don't believe in black cats, I feel kinda weird when one crosses my road )3. Wash dishes before they pile up to the ceiling4. Try not to curse too much5. Try not to go to sleep at 4 'o clock in the morning6. Clean the dust that is stuck to my monitor every week
  6. My favorite is ICQ, but I try to avoid instant messengers because they require 3rd party servers, so I usually use Microsoft's Net Meeting, mainly because 90% of the people I chat with use a wireless local area network in my city, and I am a part of it, so, it's free, it's fast, and I can engoy the benefits of voice/video conferensing. (Although ICQpro can do that, it's not free).Plus, I find it easy to remember somebody's local IP adress than an ICQ number.
  7. True... Soon we will all be remembering the "good 'ol times" and start every conversation with "I remember it like it was yesterday"...Every 1st of January I look back and start yacking about how I wasted the whole year, and that this one will be different!Do you think that it will turn out to be "different"? I think not...The problem? We forget what we have done in the year before, and it looks like it passed by veeery quckly.Either that, or we have all entered the twilight zone!
