The Crazy Frog... 'ding-ding-dididing' Thumbs UP? Thumbs DOWN?
bureX replied to serverph's topic in Mobile Phones
Cute??? It's REALLY annoying!!! -
Definitely a book. I prefer the "for dummies" book series, even if you are an experienced programmer at C++. I choose Delphi over C++ because C languages are quite cryptic, while Delphi is not, but is still quite powerful. If you are not sure that Delphi is right for you, then you can try a few tutorials, and experience the power of Borland Delphi! You can start off with these links:about.delphi.com <-- For starters.http://torry.net/ <-- For advanced users, but probably has some tutorials too.

Maxtor 80GB. Quite enough :-)But I am planning on buying a 120GB or 160GB drive (hopefully one with 8MB of buffer memory), because I am planning to do allot of video editing.
-
I have a 80GB maxtor hard drive, and it is separated in two partitions (c,d), C contains windows, main programs, drivers etc. The D partition contains important data, music, videos, pics, projects, etc. If anything would go wrong (and, thank God it didn't), I would simply format the C drive, reinstall windows and some programs, and that's it!The C partition has 15gb of space, and the D partition 65GB of space. All of theese partitions are using the NTFS filesystem because they support files larger than 4GB (i think?), and I am doing some video editing. When I end up with a huge uncompressed AVI file on my HDD, it pays off to use NTFS.

When You Design A Website how much do you consider older browsers
bureX replied to bjrn's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I usually design web pages for these two resolutions that you use also (1024x768 and 800x600). But, you should also consider higher resolutions because huge monitors are slowly taking over the market, and the number of users with large resolutions will surely increase...I test my web pages on IE6 (and ONLY IE6, could not find anybody using an older version than this), Firefox, and Opera. If all goes well, I FTP it on Xisto. And that's all there is to it! -
Msi Pc54g2 Wireless Card (avoid It!) This card is a piece of junk
bureX replied to bureX's topic in Hardware Workshop
Yes, I am afraid so... See for yourself! -
Avoid the MSI PC54G2 wireless 802.11b/g PCI card!!!I bought it, and I used it with 10 meters of low loss cable and a 18dbi antenna. The AP that I am trying to connect to is <1km away, and I have perfect LOS (line of sight).I tried to tune the antenna to the right position, but the greatest signal that I was able to get is -80dbm (low/very low)! I thought that the antenna was the problem, so I borrowed one from a friend (and a 15m cable also). It turns out that the signal was a little bit worse (-82dbm) than before, so I borrowed a D-link DWL-520+ wireless card. I was shocked to see that the signal on the same AP is Excellent!!! Still, the product specifications for the MSI card say that this card has 30-40mW of output strength, and the specs for the (above mentioned) D-link card say that the output strength is 40mW!I am replacing this card as soon as possible... I can see that this card is made for indoor use...

There is no such thing as a free lunch, so Google will have to place ads in order to finance this, and that's one minus. In order to keep up with millions of users, that will obviously register to get their free hosting, Google would have to get a great number of web servers. When they offered the 1GB Gmail mailbox, they knew that only a few people would use up this space, but the others (like me, with a poor internet connection) have only 10MB (1%) of space used up! If they would offer free web hosting, it would be an embarrassment to offer e.g. 50mb of space, so they would go for the big numbers! This web space will be very tempting, so almost every hosting account will be filled up with audio & video material, warez, porn etc. Google will have a hard time to control their users...Why would they jump into this hole?
-
It would be a better idea to integrate this tool into Windows itself!I mean, how do they sleep at night?First, they sell software that is Swiss cheese like (full of holes), and then they offer a solution to fix a part of the problem, acting like a prince in a shiny armor for Windows while they are doing it! They always leave a small hole behind so it can be expanded in time again, and the whole story repeats itself. They may not do this on purpose, but it is still wrong.

Standard procedure... Obtain a free copy of Lavasoft AdAware SE (Personal edition), which is located on the website http://www.lavasoft.com/. You can also try Spybot Search & Destroy, but both of are very similar in performance. Be sure to update them before you start scanning. Anyway, try doing this:Click on the Start menu, and choose RUN. Type "msconfig", and click on the "Startup" tab. Any programs that are suspicious can be disabled by unchecking the checkbox on the left. But first, try the "Add/Remove programs" option in control panel, and see if you can find anything related to the name of the spyware that is on your computer, then, uninstall it.

WOW!Google just seems to amaze us more and more!It would be very nifty to add this feature to Google search.By using this feature, you can easily learn on someone else?s mistakes, and save precious time when searching. Or, if you don't have an idea what to search for, just type anything and Google will give you a suggestion

I create my own path through life, I am responsible for any good or bad things that I have done in life. I am responsible for my own actions. And there are many people around the world that have miserable lives, but have never done anything wrong, and live a good and honest life (and the other way around). Karma is just a myth.

I am using PHP triad, and it is working fine for 1 year. Unfortunately, it is now turned into shareware, so, you will have to dig up an older version somewhere. In order to start the (local) apache web server, you just run a console program, and the whole thing is up and running. There is a small mySQL service program included also.

Abortion : For Or Against Abortion? Share ur views on ABORTION?
bureX replied to Milk's topic in General Discussion
If that (unwanted) baby is born, imagine what it's life would be like?He/she will have a miserable life (that life is 10 times worse if they live in an undeveloped country), and will eventually see themselves as outcasts, and sometimes, they will wish that they weren't born at all!If a woman aborts that baby, she, and her boyfriend, will return to their normal life. Everyone will be relieved (family members, friends...). The only thing that stops abortions is human moral, and (as small as it sounds) that is often quite enough.I personally think that the problem should be stopped in the source. And people are working on this indeed! Advisors are visiting schools to talk about boy/girl relationships and sex. They are usually doing a good job, but that is still (unfortunately) not enough... -
Want to hear about a really disturbing thing? Some person, who taped the tsunami wave coming and washing people away, is selling those video shots on CD's! Personally, I wouldn't do this even if my home was washed away, and I was brought down on my knees to beg for food!He says that his video is a work of art! Bullsh*t! The truth is that he is making money by selling the pain and suffering of thousands of people in that video!!! SICK!I wonder what is it like to stand on your balcony, tape the whole thing happening, and observe people just being washed away one by one, having their faith sealed...

I found Xisto on another forum (Serbian forum, http://www.elitesecurity.org/), and everybody was recommending it. The biggest thing I like about Xisto is that you must earn your web space, bandwidth etc. Using this method, there is no way that some kid with 3 html pages and a few pics can get this great hosting plan without lifting a finger. If Xisto grew out to be a 100% free hosting solution, I doubt that it would have any advanced features (php, mySQL, cPanel, etc.).

English is a foreign language to me, I couldn't find a better way to express myself. By using that expression, I am stating that the tungsten light bulbs emit such electromagnetic radiation (as you state) at a such frequency (which is measured in trillions of Hz, as far as I remember) which makes my wall look a little bit yellow, but, when lighted by a fluorescent light source, it is not.My point is that the fluorescent light bulbs emit more natural light that the tungsten light bulbs. Yes. And I experience that every time when I look at the tungsten light bulb directly (if the bulb's glass casing is clear, which is usually the case). I think that you have heard that it is not good for your eyes when reading in a heavily lighted room, and also, that is not good for your eyes when reading in a poorly lighted room... Try staring into your CRT monitor while the whole screen is green, or blue, or YELLOW (which is the case here). Is it pleasant? I think not. Being in a room where one color is very much dominant than the others is not pleasant nor healthy.

Here (in Serbia), there is one thing I reeeeally hate during winter...The snow starts falling, hooray...The snow forms a layer that is 30cm thick, hooray.And... A cold rain shower starts falling and combines with the snow, and soon, the whole city turns into one big mud hole, until the whole thing freezes, and you see people falling around on the streets because of the slippery ice... Bummer...PS: malapidp, when you remain indoors, you triple your chance of getting ill (4 walls, warm and the air is full of bacteria and germs).

I agree with alperuzi. It maybe kind of cool, but it cannot be used in real life. It's allot quicker to just read the results.Anyway, this could prove to be very useful to people with impaired hearing.

Your PC keeps crashing?Try and update all of your device drivers, maybe they are not compatible with SP2.Anyway, WinXP+SP2 is running fine on my AMD Athlon 2500+ with 256MB of RAM.There is a major bug in the PPPoE support in SP2.If you are using PPPoE to connect to your ISP, avoid using SP2, or use third party software drivers for PPPoE to connect. As far as I'm concerned, SP2 is just what the doctor ordered if you are concerned about your security, and the pop-up blocker is simply great!
-
Since SP2 was released, IE6 can be a good choice. If you do not set the security options in Internet Explorer, you are a sitting duck. Almost every aggressive site will install "plugins" that are actually spyware, and will slow down your PC to the max and destroy your privacy on the Internet.Anyway, advanced users should definitely try Opera, if not, Firefox is the key.

There are allot of things that can make a woman fall in love with you and do whatever your heart desires... One of those things is the Mercedes Benz Convertible CLK320. Anyway, if you break up your relationship with your girlfriend, you can look at the bright side and thank God that it didn't happen when you are married with children!

A man comes up to his neighbour while he is fixing his car. The car is obviously broken, and it's engine sounds like WW2.1: Your engine is making allot of noise buddy!2: What?!1: I said: Your engine is making allot of noise!2: Whaaaaaaaat?!1: Your engineeee is making allot of noiseeeeee!2: Whaaaaaaaaaaaat??!!1: I SAID: Your engine is making a hell of allot of noise!2: WHAAAAAAAT???!!! Speak up I can't hear you! My engine is making allot of noise!

The "good ol'" tungsten light bulbs, besides being energy inefficient, they also emit non-standard light. If you carefully look at a white painted wall with one of these light bulbs turned on, you will notice that the wall is kind of yellowish. Being exposed to such light can really do damage to your eyes in time. One more thing that still gets to me is when I look at one of these light bulbs (when turned on), it's just like looking directly at the sun, and it really does a number on your eyes. Can't wait for those LEDs to roll in!
