  1. There you go... second "NO" in a week from another founder of the EU. Although it's true that many countries have retified the treaty (correct me if i'm wrong but it's not 49% yet is it?), there are some countries with "No" as the most likely answer. Britain, Denmark are a few examples. These countries are more EU-sceptic through and through. As a lawyer myself, an EU constitution would harmonise many legal areas nicely to create more certainties for traders. But to me, the treaty seems pretty much dead for now.
  2. After the French have voted "non" to the European Constitution, the Constitution seems pretty much dead. The Netherland is likely to vote "no" also on 1 June. If that's the case, then two of the original six founders would have rejected the treaty. Obviously, other more eurosceptic countries such as Denmark, UK are likely to follow suit. So what's next for the EU?
  3. You can't possibly compare the two because they are of different genre. If you, like me, like Age of Empire more, then you would probably prefer any real-time strategy battle games to Medal of Honour. As someone have compare AoE to Empire Earth, i found EE interesting at the beginning but soon after i fond that battle in Nano age (or whatever they call it) is not as fun as medieval. (It's not that much fun when you simply dropping a-bombs on another apart from seeing the effect of it really... Also controlling the planes and copters is a pain in the *bottom*)Maybe i just like history a lot, so to me, knight fighting is more fun!
  4. I don't think peace is ever possible either. People have different interests, ideology, religions, beliefs etc. And it's not possible to compromise, what you see as right may not be shared by others. For example, why on earth should the US invaded Iraq? (coz it posed threat to their county? nah...don't think so) The US may see Saddam's killing of his own people as not right, but does that give rights to them to invade another country? In theory, probable answer is NO.There are many things in life that we want, for examples, equality, democracy, freedom, privacy, justice and fairness, wealth. It is also likely that those conflict with one another and compromise might be the only way out.BUT I agree with rvalkass that there will always be someone who feels they are restricted to pursue what they want/believe, and that's why peace is rather impossible.
  5. "That happened to me too in real life. I played for my school in a national meet we where up 3-1 first half and at the end of the game we lost 4-3."Yeah that happened to me too, but the other way round. 3-0 down at half-time in a school match, the coach gave us a hard time during the break, and we came out and won on penalties after a 4-4 draw. (It is one of the matches i wouldn't forget...as i scored two goals in that come back too)
  6. Yeehaaa.... We won. Yes i wasn't a dream. I was watching the game in a pub and the whole pub was silent in the first half (except when people swore at the ref for Milan's second goal). Milan was classy, no doubt. Kaka is super-human. However, even experienced as they are, Milan were out of places when Stevie scored the first goal. Dida fell down more slowly than the titanic sank to give us a second goal. And Guttuso was quite lucky not to even see a yellow card, never mind a red one. To be honest, i started to cry since smicer got our second goal. Then i knew we could do it, even if we couldn't i would be satisfied with the fight they put in. If Riise strike went in for our fourth goal, the result would be even sweeter, but it didn't and Milan recovered their composure. In extra time, i was so nervous as 1) i knew that we ran out of gas after chasing Milan all night. 2) Milan is supposed to be "more ready" for the penalties. So i was hoping that we can cling on and a miracle goal from Cisse. Oh...double save from Dudek was the best i've ever seen, though he hardly knew anything about it ;-)Then came the penalties... with so many misses this season (including alonso's in this match!), i wouldn't bet on liverpool to win. Somehow we did... and it showed that nothing is impossible if you keep believing and fighting.* As for defending it.... i don't know. But now there is a very strong lobby from G-14 and UEFA sponsors to let us defending it. The UEFA president seems keen to have us in as well. So we will see. If not, then we'll focus on the premiere league, and a eufa cup win would also do nicely ;-)** credit to both teams, that's the best Champions league final in years. i really enjoyed it...and i hope everyone did as well.*** Mourinho - Uefa cup 2003, Champions League 2004, Premiere league 2005 Benitez - Uefa cup 2004, Champions League 2005, Premieree League 2006? hehe
  7. As my beloved Liverpool is in the Final tonight, i feel like giving a bit of preview and my thought about the match...Liverpool vs AC MilanAlthough they were disappointing in the English League this season, Liverpool's form in Europe had been a totally different story. Many points to the fact that we've got a new spanish coach and some new spanish signings which suit european football better than english football. And by taking Liverpool to their first European's biggest cup final for the first time in 21 years, Rafael Benitez is seen as a god to most Red's fan. Being undrdogs in early rounds against the like of Juventus and Chelsea, the Red men defied all the odds again and again to set up a show down with another history-rich club, AC Milan of Italy.Player News:After a campaign with the worst injuries crisis since i've ever watched football, Liverpool will have most of their frst-team players back for this final. Cisse returns after 6 months out for double-broken leg which threatened to end his career. Alonso came back after recover from his broken ankel. Hamann, Kewell, Gerrard, Traore, Baros, Garcia, Josemi are now all avaiable.Milan rested their first-team players against Palermo in the Series A match at the weekend, as a result their domestic title was lost to Juventus, and Champions Leauge is now the only trophy Milan can get. Experienced Milan is at full-strength apart from the super-sub, Ambrosini, who scored at the last minute in PSV to put milan through. Lastest news also suggested that Crespo limped out of training on thursday. we'll see.Expected line-up: Liverpool: Dudek, Finnan, Caragher, Hyypia, Traore, Garcia,Gerrard, Alonso, Riise, Kewell, Cisse Milan: Dida, Cafu, Nesta, Stam, Muldini, Seedorf, Pirlo, Guttuso, Kaka, Shevchenko, Crespo My view: Milan will start as a favourite. The names in the team sheet clearly suggest that. Several world-class players with a lot of experience in finals between them. However, this will likely be a cagey affair as both side will be cautious. So this can be a battle of tactics between Benitez and Ancelotti. Milan's back four is solid, but somewhat slow, so pace of Cisse and Baros can give them a bit of a run. it's likely that Liverpool will try to counter on a break. On the other hand, in Shevchenko, Milan probably has the most lethal striker in the world. He has pace. he has power. He's good in the air and he's very sharp in front of goal. Carragher and Hyypia must be at their best to keep him as quiet as possible. Nevetheless, i think the midfield battle will be the key that decide the game. Both sides has one of best midfield in the world. and it'll be interesting to see who will gain the control of the game. And finally, both sides seems vulnerable against set-pieces... so the game may be decided by a single goal from set-pieces. One thing for sure, whoever get the first goal will be the likely winner.my prediction: Well, i'm a liverpool fan...and this prediction comes from my heart not my brain. I'll go for Liverpool winning 1-0, here. I believe the spirit of the lads will help them to beat Milan who looked tired and weary in recent weeks.Any thoughts?
  8. Adding to the list...when the nine things above happened and you try to shake the machine or giving it a kick, everyone around with look at you suspiciously.
  9. ok... when the entertainment board say "no post count", does that mean no "credit" count as well? I think it wasn't like this. Can anyone explain, please? i normally find it difficult to find anything to contribute to the board to keep my credit because i'm not a computer geek to post about internet/google whatever... and music board or movies would help me greatly. Today i post twice on the entertainment board and nothing happened. Do i understand correctly that "post count" and "credit" are not the same thing? post-count = number of post required for you to ask for webhosting/upgradecredit = how long you can keep your hostingIsn't this right?regards Notice from BuffaloHELP: Do not double post! I am merging your two topics. This is the only verbal warning you will see. If you feel that you want to edit your post, click on REPORT under your posting thread and write to us in detail.

  11. I just saw the Music Video of "mockingbird" yesterday. In fact, it wsa the first time i heard the song too. (I know Encore was relesed ages ago , but i haven't really followed eminem since i finished high school) Anyway, the song was so great, so emotional. It really came out of his life, his heart and soul. And the music video that he made from collection of home videos is just the best video i can ever imagine. i'll pick and quote my favourtie line here.."I remember back one year when daddy had no money Mommy wrapped the Christmas presents up And stuck 'em under the tree and said some of 'em were from me Cuz daddy couldn't buy 'em I'll never forget that Christmas I sat up the whole night crying Cuz daddy felt like a bum, see daddy had a job But his job was to keep the food on the table for you and mom "hate to admit that i ended up with a bit of tear in my eye. And i couldn't believe it come as a result of a RAP song!?!Wonderful song... just like Eminem we used to be crazy about in highschool.
  12. Mockingbird - Eminem (Encore)Yeah I know sometimes things may not always make sense to you right now But hey, what daddy always tell you? Straighten up little soldier Stiffen up that upper lip What you crying about? You got me Hailie I know you miss your mom and I know you miss your dad Well I'm gone but I'm trying to give you the life that I never had I can see you're sad, even when you smile, even when you laugh I can see it in your eyes, deep inside you want to cry Cuz you're scared, I ain't there? Daddy's with you in your prayers No more crying, wipe them tears Daddy's here, no more nightmares We gon' pull together through it, we gon' do it Laney uncles crazy, aint he? Yeah but he loves you girl and you better know it We're all we got in this world When it spins, when it swirls When it whirls, when it twirls Two little beautiful girls Lookin' puzzled, in a daze I know it's confusing you Daddy's always on the move, mamma's always on the news I try to keep you sheltered from it but somehow it seems The harder that I try to do that, the more it backfires on me All the things growing up his daddy that he had to see Daddy don't want you to see but you see just as much as he did We did not plan it to be this way, your mother and me But things have gotten so bad between us I don't see us ever being together ever again Like we used to be when we was teenagers But then of course everything always happens for a reason I guess it was never meant to be But it's just something we have no control over and that's what destiny is But no more worries, rest your head and go to sleep Maybe one day we'll wake up and this will all just be a dream [Chorus] Now hush little baby, don't you cry Everything's gonna be alright Stiffen that upper lip up little lady, i told ya Daddy's here to hold ya through the night I know mommy's not here right now and we don't know why We feel how we feel inside It may seem a little crazy, pretty baby But i promise momma's gon' be alright It's funny I remember back one year when daddy had no money Mommy wrapped the Christmas presents up And stuck 'em under the tree and said some of 'em were from me Cuz daddy couldn't buy 'em I'll never forget that Christmas I sat up the whole night crying Cuz daddy felt like a bum, see daddy had a job But his job was to keep the food on the table for you and mom And at the time every house that we lived in Either kept getting broke into and robbed Or shot up on the block and your mom was saving money for you in a jar Tryna start a piggy bank for you so you could go to college Almost had a thousand dollars till someone broke in and stole it And I know it hurt so bad it broke your momma's heart And it seemed like everything was just startin' to fall apart Mom and dad was arguin' a lot so momma moved back On the Chalmers in the flat one bedroom apartment And dad moved back to the other side of 8 Mile on Novara And that's when daddy went to California with his CD and met Dr. Dre And flew you and momma out to see me But daddy had to work, you and momma had to leave me Then you started seeing daddy on the T.V. and momma didn't like it And you and Laney were to young to understand it Papa was a rollin' stone, momma developed a habit And it all happened too fast for either one of us to grab it I'm just sorry you were there and had to witness it first hand Cuz all I ever wanted to do was just make you proud Now I'm sittin in this empty house, just reminiscing Lookin' at your baby pictures, it just trips me out To see how much you both have grown, it's almost like you're sisters now Wow, guess you pretty much are and daddy's still here Laney I'm talkin' to you too, daddy's still here I like the sound of that, yeah It's got a ring to it don't it? Shh, momma's only gone for the moment [Chorus] And if you ask me too Daddy's gonna buy you a mockingbird I'mma give you the world I'mma buy a diamond ring for you I'mma sing for you I'll do anything for you to see you smile And if that mockingbird don't sing and that ring don't shine I'mma break that birdies neck I'd go back to the jewler who sold it to ya And make him eat every carat don't *BLEEP* with dad (haha)
  13. French open champions? I think it'll be one of the clay specialists + Roger Federer. Gaudio just lost in the prep tournament before the French Open. It might affect his confidence a bit. Federer is looking good despite injury. It'll be interesting to see if he can win the French Open. Beside, Ferrero is coming back rather well. However, my choice would be Corea/Gaudio but Federer may pip it too.Safin+ Hewitt? - nah, don't think so... wait for Wimbledon!
  14. Haha.. it's really funny. But it's so looooong....Spent ages reading it, but not even 1/3 way through.
  15. My choice would be Kristine Kreuk from Smallville. She has the most attractive face for me. One is the reason is probably the fact that she is half-dutch half-chinese, and has both western and eastern beauty, in a perfect mix. ;-)
  16. PSV was cruelly denied on Wednesday. They out-played AC Milan in both legs yet they lost on away goal rule. I never thought PSV could ever turn it around, but after i saw their performance in the first half i thought they could do it. I really think it'll be harder for liverpool if PSV had won.On the paper Ac Milan looks world-class. No doubt they are actually world class. But if they play like how they did against PSV in both legs of the semi-finals. I'm sure Liverpool can win it. We'll just have to play like we did against Leverkusen and Juventus and be a bit careful at the back coz Milan can counter with only two or three players in Schevchenko and Kaka. Their defene are rather slow however, so i'm sure Baros and Cisse will give hem a bit of run-around.Bring on Milan!! On the day Liverpool can beat anyone!
  17. Chelsea is OUT!!!!! Liverpool 1 - 0 ChelseaWe played as well as our other Champions League performances. Got an early goal. Although the goal is debatable whether it was in or it as not, i think we would have got a penalty if it didn't go in anyway and maybe a red card fo Petr Cech. Chelsea were hardly any threat without Duff and Robben. Without the wings they played through the middle and that suited us perfectly. Hamann and Biscan protecing the backfour and Caragher was "out of the world"! Hyypia had an excellent match too. Dudek was only called on to made one good save in the entire match. We have been written off times and times yet we proved it once again that we can compete with anyone at the highest level. Onc we can get this european form into a domestic one, we'll be a real title challenger.... hopefully from next season!p.s. Ticket to Liverpool vs chelsea ... 42 pounds (up to 1200 pounds in some cases). Burger at half time.... 3.50 pounds. Mourinho's face at the final whistle... PRICELESS. There is something Russian money can't buy.... and that' a place in the Champion league Cup final!
  18. Once again i'll have my thought before champions league ties. Now it's down to four teams and the favourites are... you know it.Milan v PSVNot much to say about this match. Why? Because while Milan has been cruising through, beating Man UTD and Inter relatively easily, PSV had barely held on against Lyon at their own turf to survive the penalty shoot-out. Milan is a BIG BIG favourite here, so the pressure might be on them a bit. And PSV's organised team cannot be underestimated. However, i can't see PSV getting through really, even if van Bommel turns in a majestic display over two legs. I can't even see PSV scoring a goal in two legs!!Chelsea v LiverpoolThere's so much at stakes in this match. First it's a symbolic battle between Old tradition of football and the New money spending culture (though it's not quite true in reality). Secondly, Mourinho is looking for a treble in his first season, and winning back to back the CL with diferent teams (He won it with Porto last year). Thirdly, winning the UEFA cup is now probably Liverpool's easier route to this competition next year after they turned in an erratic performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Their hope of getting fourth place in the league is evaporating really fast. Fourthly, this will be the fourth and fifth match between them this season, with liverpool losing all previous three through deflected goals and own goal (not to mention rock-solid penalties turned down). They are hoping for a revenge. Finally, Xabi Alonso is back from broken ankle caused by Lampard on the New Year day!For the first match, Liverpool may have a striker problem again as Baros was coming off injured in the game against palace and is doubtful for this match. Xabi and Cisse are back although the later can't start a match after six months off-games. Chelsea, onthe other hand is on a high following a win at fulham. They now only need two point to formally clinch the league title. And John Terry won Player of the Year award on Sunday. Oh! Arjen Robben is Back!! Not a great news for Liverpool.I expect liverpool to be compact at Stamford bridge on wednesday to keep the score level, and i think if they can contain Robben somehow, they might get a draw. An away goal would be nice too. ;-)Hope Liverpool wins.
  19. I played the clarinet in the school band for 6 years. (mainly marching). I enjoyed it a lot..and I was the president of the school music society then. Once I move to university, I don't have a chance to play seriously, which is a shame really. I also sing. I think your voice is the best instrument ever...because it's in yourself...and you don't have to carry anything with you to the band, or choir. And you can be ready to perform anytime. Having said that, if you are ill, singing is probably the worst thing to perform in. I know being ill do affect the performance of all instruments...but when your performance is singing, it can be really bad. Anyway, I play a Thai tranditional violin for about 10 yeears now..and I still have a chance to play it at uni. (in cultural night or international students night or etc.)
  20. I think for me it depends a lot on who is teaching. When I was doing my A-level, politics was my best subject. I stilll like it a lot.Now I'm doing a law degree, so I think I have enjoyed constitutional law (because it is quite similar to politics), criminal law, and land law.
  21. when I went to highschool , I probably looked like a nerd because I didn't care about how I dress or how I look. I just wanted to get into the Uni. I started going out with my BF since then though. Now I'm at the University of Oxford...and I'm doing law. For non-law students, law students are often nerd to them. But in comparison to other law students here, I am not at all a nerd. And I care more about myself. haha. Now during holiday when I go back to my country, nobody thinks I'm a nerd coz I do get dressed etc etc.
  22. Well, from my sultural background...it is "Sex after marriage". However, this is changing. Some people in my country even look down upon those who have sex when they are so young. Nevertheless, the reserch shows that a large percentage of girls in my country lose their virginity in their first year of university. (Adults: above 30 especially: still condemn those who are non-virgin before marriage.) IT has been shown that some guys in my country have their first sex when they are about 16-17. In contrast, guys who are virgin will find it unacceptable if their girls have slept with someone else in the past. So the traditional idea is still 'sex after marriage'..and it's kinda romantic that you are the first of your husband and your husband is your first....although, as I have said, things are changing.
