Should We Be In Iraq? what do you think about the war in Iraq
matto replied to @mberlust's topic in General Discussion
To answer your question: No. We should not be in Iraq. The only reason that we are there is oil. There are no weapons of mass destruction. The government has lied to us, several times, about this and other things. -
You could also restart in safemode. But the internet might not work -.- Just do it over and over again :-D

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Daniel. I hope that you enjoy your time here at Xisto, and may your internet needs be fulfilled and enjoyable.

I think that teens getting pregnant are incredibly moronic, and hurt the human race's population (and the quality of those alive in the population). Natural Selection is extinct -.-But as far as drugs, alcohol, and smoking goes I haven't had any except a bit of alcohol (cuz us Jews love wine at services. I stick to grape juice mostly, but...). Anyone who is stupid enough to experiment with these things are... well, stupid. It is really sad, though. I have seen several of my friends get sent to rehab this year alone, and I just turned 15. Lots of my friends are doing stuff, too, and I know it. I see people smoking right outside of school while they walk to the bus, for God's sake!!! It's horrible. And yeah, they're all stupid. I wish they hadn't made the decisions they had, and they will be scared for life because of it.

Honestly, I utterly hate both of them, and maybe eat there 1nc a year. But I'd prefer McDonalds cuz they have good milkshakes. I dislike KFC because the only thing they really offer that is decent is meat and potatoes. Honestly, if I want those, I'd much prefer to make them myself. Those aren't things that people should eat day-to-day, the american population is already overweight. Eat some salads, not KFC! But yeah, the only thing I use either for is the occasional milkshake (usually on road-trips and stuff) at McDonalds.

English - 100%Spanish - 30%Hebrew - 10% (But I can read/write in it quite well... I just don't know any vocabulary -.-)

Honestly, I feel that I represent all of them except the last one.

I've become convinced, after several readings into parallel universes, that parallel universes do exist, but I do not consider them to be actual other universes, thus making our the only "real" universe to exist.

The Possibility Of Gay Rights Should it be allowed?
matto replied to BooZker's topic in General Discussion
...Speaking of religion, my rabbi wrote an article about how to obtain gay rights. It isn't focused primarily on religion, well sort of.... Here it is: He's quite smart. What do you guys think of his "strategies"? -
Wow. Horrible layout for the website, I agree. Not to mention those prices are rediculous... you can get 2Gigs of webspace for that much some places. But their server is decent. But their server, according to the stats you quoted, has 2 processors which makes it about 5GHz in total, and 2 virtual processors but I'm not sure how those work. It's probably less than 5GHz cuz they're working together, though.

I use google's personalized home page. Lets me scan my email real quick, check 'em RSS's, look at the general recent news, see the weather in my area, all in less than a second.

Yeah, most of the house is grounded. But my room isn't... Whether or not there is a grounded outlet, I will use a surge protector.I've just spent some time googling, without many results. Maybe I'm just retarded, but would any of you know aproximately how much it would cost to ground 1 outlet in an already grounded-house?
-
But implementing these things would end up making the hardware in question (keyboards and mice) much larger, which is inconvenient.
-
Hey all. The outlets in my room are not grounded, and I want to eventually get a computer up and running in there. Do you think that it is dangerous to do so, and if so, how dangerous is it? Are we talking computer-dying dangerous, electrocuting myself dangerous, or some other kind of dangerous? Thanks, folks.

School's Blocking System. Its not the smartest of things
matto replied to Blue Lightning's topic in General Discussion
As far as my school blocking images.google.com, it doesn't block images.google.ca or any other domain names. Try it out on your guys' things too. -
That is a brilliant idea! I'm glad there are people out there like you trying hard to fix this horrible problem. But, like you said, the hard thing is turning regular light rays to LASER. As far as doing that without using energy, I haven't a clue, but the idea has great merit and i want to commend you for coming up with it. And thank you, for helping to confront Global Warming and partially Dimming.

Before I even read your reply I was going to say gravity and orbit, though I hesitated and still am unsure of this because gravity is the same as falling towards something slowly while circling it, and satellites will eventually collide with something unless some other force moves them away from the planet/gravitational pull they are orbiting.

The Possibility Of Gay Rights Should it be allowed?
matto replied to BooZker's topic in General Discussion
Firstly, it seems to me as if you are saying the whole point of having a relationship is to have children. I have never been aware of this, and would like you to explain further. Secondly, because one person happened to realize that he was not homosexual even though he thought he was, and that it happened to happen after becoming christian, means nothing. You have one example of someone not being homosexual. So what? -
What Is The Fourth Dimension? something like a hypercube...?
matto replied to apexbug's topic in General Discussion
There are two theories for the fourth dimension, as I understand it:1) A Spatial dimension. Which is the theory relevant to your example of a hypercube. I don't believe this as much as I do the other theory, because I don't see the hypercube! I've seen pictures of it, I mean, but I don't understand how it is more than three dimensional. This is probably because It's presented to me in a 2dimensional format: on a piece of paper. But because I haven't taken the time to figure it out and haven't seen it as of yet, I don't imagine the fourth dimension as being spatial.2) A non-spatial dimension: Time. Einstein, and others, have considered the fourth dimension to be time, as in change. When talking about graphs, or planes, with this dimension I picture it as more than one graph. The X, Y, and Z spatial dimensions are easily depicted on a graph, but when you change time the graph grows or decays in some way, thus turning into a new graph. so yes... =pA good example for why I think that (multiple graphs - time as fourth) is an example that was given in a discussion on these forums. Suppose we lived in a 2 dimensional world. Now, suppose we add a third dimension into our two dimensional world. As we go up the newly added z-axis, we have a new world in it of itself. When talking about the fourth dimension, I imagine a new graph for every spot on its axis. Not sure how correct this is, but it's how I imagine it. -
For the most part, I don't consider most of the "bad" swear words different from regular words. In my regular day-to-day speech I utter profanity without even thinking about it.I consider lots of non-swear words to be much more offencive than certain swear words. For instance, I don't consider the f-word to be necessarily bad if used as an adjective, though speaking about sex and stuff can be innappropriate at times, depending on where and when you are talking. When I am in a public eye, such as posting on forums here, I try not to use profanity because it is thought of as offencive to a large amount of people, but when I'm talking with my friends and stuff (would have said the 's' word there if I was speaking aloud to friends, i.e.) it's different. So like I said, I consider using regular, non-cuss words, as having more potential for being much more offencive than the use of swear words. For instance, people so blindly describing as something as being gay in a negative aspect pisses me off more than calling someone a b-word or something. I'd much preferred to be called an a-hole or something than be called gay in a negative fashion. But yeah, Sorry this post is a bit off topic. What defines a swear word, to me, is any word that is offencive to others.

I have definitely noticed this in some of the girls I've been going to school with who consider themselves intelligent and politically active when they really know nothing about what is going on.But back to being totally 100% hypocritical, they effing interrupted class like every day when my teacher would give an example of something we were being taught and used the pronoun "he" instead of "she." I mean, he doesn't mean anything by it, don't get angry about it... He isn't using it in a sexist way, he is simply giving an example. It could have easily been he or she. Then they would always scream out sexist and stuff, and totally turn around the minuscule thing that may possibly be considered sexist into something that is most definitely very sexist, except against men rather than women. I find it amazingly annoying as well.

Scientist Turn Moon Soil Into Oxygen finally
matto replied to amir691's topic in Science and Technology
Dude. That is amazingly cool. There is a lot of potential for, as you mentioned, increased chances of the human race's survival possibilities. My only worry is that we won't really be able to utilize this possibly valuable resource on a massive scale. We need to heat it to 2500 degrees before we get any oxygen... so what are we supposed to do? Burn the moon up, then go live there? Does the oxygen stay in oxygen form after the temperature goes back down? Also, as someone (forgot who) in this thread as said, without plants and biogeochemical cycles, the oxygen won't be able to replenish itself and would be deemed useless as it would only be there for a limited amount of time. And as far as credibility of this discovery goes, after doing a search on Nasa's website (http://www.nasa.gov/), there came up some possible results that indicates that it definitely has some credibility of existance. I don't have time to read the articles that came up, though.
