  1. Try this method: 1. Open Notepad/Wordpad or another TEXT editor (not word processing software). Open up your HTML page in the text editor. 2. Go to Edit. Click on Find and Replace. Or Find and then Replace. There are different menus/buttons but they all work in the same way. 3. Type in <a href=" in the Find box. 4. Type in <a target="_blank" href=" in the Replace box. 5. Click on Replace All or something similar to that. 6. Ensure you have XHTML 1.0 Transitional or HTML 4.01 Transitional as the !DOCTYPE because target="_blank" is not compatible with Strict DOCTYPE's or XHTML 1.1. Also, consider using AceHTML 6 Freeware, it works great. Let me know if this was helpful.
  2. I do not use cPanel unless deleting folders or huge amounts of files.I use AceFTP 3, the freeware program. I used to use FireFTP in Mozilla Firefox, it worked fine, but I decided to try other FTP clients.I am considering trying SmartFTP since it is so popular. It is featured on the Download.com page this morning.CuteFTP really sucks, it cannot transfer anything.
  3. I personally like Dell Technical Support. My satisfaction levels have been 88% - 100% with them. They have resolved most problems quickly and easily without spending too much time on it and without much hesitation. The only thing that was really bad was they automatically suspended my order for a new computer.I would rate them 8.5/10. Former Compaq had people with weird accents that I couldn't understand. I mean typing in msconfig for the first time took about 9 minutes because I couldn't understand her pronounciation of the letters.
  4. Sure...the page might be down because of improper FTP uploading, but it case you want to know, it is NOT a search engine. It is just information about Gahoo!Yoogle. {{http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/}} click on Search Engines and then About Gahoo!Yoogle. The actual link is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Go check it out, even the screenshots. Just don't refresh too much to waste my bandwidth.
  5. Umm...I knew about this site since September 2005.It was featured in the NetNow section of "The Magazine".Anyways, it doesn't take a genius to make that site. It is just 3 frames: top banner, google search and Yahoo! search. I personally use the Yahoo! side more often. There are other similar sites that have been taken down.I did a page on Gahoo!Yoogle on my website. GO check it out.
  6. I use Firefox, Opera, SeaMonkey, Mozilla, Netscape, Avant Browser, Maxthon and Internet Explorer with Service Pack 2.Mostly I use Opera and Firefox. I use Netscape and Mozilla for some odd purposes. Avant and Maxthon for Windows Update and Internet Explorer for testing of web pages. It is so annyoing for IE.Opera and Firefox are the best.
  7. Post all comments about this in this topic. I'm voting for Edmonton Oilers because one of the players (44:Chris Pronger) hometown is my city. We had to support the Edmonton Oilers by different methods That was fun
  8. I don't believe a Bill Gates edition of Windows exists. It probably is a theme pack on the Windows operating system. If it is NOT a theme pack, please post a screen shot or something similar to that nature.
  9. Good tutorial for computer beginners. Most computer users should know this after a few months or years of computer usage. In fact, I found it on the first day I got the first computer. Windows 98 prompted me to run the Maintenance Wizard, which guided me through Disk CleanUp/Disk Defragmenter.I do this about once every two weeks.
  10. KaZaA is supposed to be legal. The content on the network is illegal (or most of it is). Other programs do this also, why only KaZaA? Other P2P prgorams include LimeWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Gnutella2, BitTorrent, Azuerus, Zena, etc, etc. So we need to get rid of the illegal files, not the programs.
  11. I believe that Google has the potential to take over Microsoft Office. It might even take over OpenOffice, but I don't think so.Next program to expect might be Google Presentations. :rolleyes:So far, Google has "absorbed" Microsoft Word (Writely), Microsoft Excel (Google Spreadsheets) and Microsoft Outlook (Google Calendar/GMail).I'll edit for more opinions.
  12. I don't know about port forwarding but this is on the Xisto server. I need to open port 6667 in my hosting account. If you want, you can try to figure out this little piece of code here:<param name="port" value="6667" />Apparently it cannot be port 80. People need to connect to this port to enter the java applet.
  13. I need to open up a port which is NOT port 80. It cannot be in use right now. The preferable port is 6667. Can this be done?
  14. I use Hibernation all the time. I rarely shut down my computer. Sometimes I leave it on for Folding @ Home distributed computing software.I can use Standby, Hibernation, Turn Off. I sometimes restart the system before putting it into Hibernation (dont know why, don't comment on).Yeah, this is a great tip for other users who don't know about this.
  15. The reward for Folding @ Home is that in the future, you may discover something that can cure certain types of cancer or diseases. In the future, people's protein folding might be helpful to you.Rewards systems wouldn't be happening any time soon because it wost cost a lot of money.Personally I use Folding @ Home to help scientists and to help spread Firefox.
  16. Does anyone here use Folding@Home? It is a distributed computing program used to investigate certain work units in sciences (also known as "experiments"). It is researching mostly for cures of diseases and stuff around the medical field. If you use it, how many WU's do you produce in 1 week? What team did you join? How many points do you have? Do you do DGROMACS, GROMACS, GROMACS33, GBGROMACS or TINKER projects most?Just wondering. If you use SETI@HOME, I don't use that because it raises the CPU core temperature by about 40 .I have completed about 21 WU's, my team is SpreadFirefox, I do Tinker cores more often and I produce about 2-3 WU's per week. I have 1 computer doing the "folding".
  17. Erm...I can't find the correct link for Sim Town. Can someone point me in the right direction. Googling it didn't work either.I don't have SimCity, but Sim Town would be interesting.
  18. No, seriously. I have given sufficient information for help. And I have recieved no helpful advice yet. Anyways, I came up with a DHTML thing. It is a directory of the world.
  19. Erm...did you read the word GENERALIZED? That means it is mostly appropriate for any site, not depending on content.
  20. That site has bad layout, bad graphics and bad products.I mean at Xisto, I can get those for free, as long as I post in the forum. Why pay ##.## dollars?Thier servers are not powerful either. And I sure doubt 99.9% Uptime.Site/product/service: NOT RECOMMENDED!
  21. I am looking For stuff to add to a vertical navigation bar to my website. I only have Home Page, Email, Forum and Get Firefox! What could I add to the bar? Mine is a portal-type website.Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
  22. Erm...I recommend you get grounded outlets for your computer. This is because most power bars/surge protectors need a grounded plug to plug into. If you are not using a surge protector, you are in big trouble :rolleyes:Grounding safely delivers electricity to the ground in case of failure. This is a good feature to have in case something weird happens (which can range from: vehicle hitting utility pole, Hydro One (or whatever your power company is) messes up, storms, bad weather causing lines to fall/snap, emergency power outages, etc). Without grounding, that electricity can act weirdly dangerous, causing the entire wall to burn down.Remember, don't be complacent!I'll edit if I find something else new.
  23. Drug dogs are okay. I personally think that strip search is best for schools. I mean there is no negative side to this. Parents cannot sue the school anyways. This should be done within non-educational time periods of the school day.We need to stop drugs, and this is another way to improve.BTW: I think that cell phones should NOT be taken away from students in school.
  24. I have found this pretty cool website. It is quite simple, with its main target the KidChat. KidBoards does not work. It mostly consists of ads and a Java applet that allows chatting I think it's pretty cool anyways. Go check it out! Edit: Link did not show up. Here is the correct link: http://www.kids-online.com/
  25. I have decided to temporary close the site down for a while. It is being hosted on Xisto in later days.
